Thanks @Horehound I can't bring myself to book any early scans after last one at 8 weeks was so good. I am bloody shattered today. DH was like. Are you sure you are. All seems to have come on since positive test. Yes actually Mr. Then explained the hormones doubling each day etc etc. Men don't really understand do they haha. And my boobs are so effing painful. Think I'm going to have to get a sports bra!

Horehound · 08/04/2021 09:05

@mrsawhite yeh they deffo don't. Anytime I say I'm exhausted my DH is like yeh me too. And I just stare at him like NO. You don't get to say you are exhausted. Maybe when you wake up 2-3 times a night and breastfeed our son, then work 4 days then look after our son a day on your own and do majority housework AND grow a baby, maybe then you can say you're exhausted. Lol

Hi! Can I join too? I’m 5+1 due on 8th Dec. Found out at 12dpo and have had good line progressions and a 2-3week digital at 4+5. Tempted to do another this week just to see the 3+ as I’m feeling a little nervous.

I had hyperemersis with my 1st (she’s now 4.5 and at school and very excited about baby!) and was already very poorly by this stage last time and I feel quite ‘ok’?! Very tired, VERY bloated (can’t hide my ‘bump’... it’s all fart) sore boobs and a little queasy but still managing to eat and drink fine. I’m glad to not be so I’ll but in a way it was comforting too!

Trying to visualise a little Christmas pudding baby and enjoy not being constantly sick!

Anyone else booked a private early scan for nerves? I had one for spotting at 8weeks with my little one and it was scary but amazing to see the little potato!

mrslewis2015 · 08/04/2021 09:53

I mean I had a NHS midwife booked early scan because she wanted to check all was ok after some spotting after sex, not a private last time. But I’m wondering whether a private scan would put my mind at rest. My hubby isn’t so keen, would rather trust and wait for 12week scan..

FuzzyPup · 08/04/2021 10:05

Hello, hoping I can join here too. I have just found out that I’m expecting my second baby. We were told that we wouldn’t be able to have any more children without additional medical help again. It’s a huge shock, but a very welcome and happy surprise. Hoping for a smooth couple of months. Smile Looking forward to getting to know you all.

If you want a scan go for it! It's not really up to your husband :) your body and if you want reassurance just you go for it. I went for an early scan with my first because I had a lot of sharp pain and wanted to see what was going on. When i saw the little heartbeat I cried. I'm going this time on Sunday so fingers crossed all is ok :) my husband was fine with me wanting a scan, he knows I'm a worrier!

Wow!! What amazing news @FuzzyPup!!

mrslewis2015 · 08/04/2021 10:15

Thankyou @Horehound my hubby would absolutely support me if I chose too, I think he just doesn’t want it to worry me more, he’s very level headed whereas I’m a worrier! I might see if there’s a local place, we live in the arse end of knowhere so there’s never anything near! 😂 I might speak to our midwives too, they are so so lovely and might be able to offer some support to ease my mind

Horehound · 08/04/2021 10:25

@mrslewis2015 that's good. Yeh that's sounds like a good idea. :)

@climbershell Geezo, no wonder you’re exhausted! I really can’t complain - I have been furloughed for most of the last year. I go back to work tomorrow (work in hospitality) but it isn’t a super physically demanding job so should be fine.
My 2.5 DS certainly keeps me on my toes however! 😅

I’m starting to get a little worried as I don’t feel my line progression is good. They’re sort of all over the place. First test at 10dpo was strong, second one 2 days later (but with hardly any pee lol) was faint, then last night it was almost as strong as the first one, then this morning with FMU it was a nice line but still not as strong as the first one... taken 3 days ago now. I’m still only 13dpo so perhaps it’s cause I’m still early but I can’t help but worry this pregnancy won’t progress same as my last two. 😢 I think I need to put it out my head for a week or so and stop worrying and just see what happens.

amysaurus87 · 08/04/2021 10:53

Joining this thread as of today! Got a very very unexpected positive test this morning, I'm only about 4 days late (cycles are erratic anyway) but I've been feeling the same way I did when I was pregnant with my first, so thought I'd test and here we are!

I'm only about 4/5 weeks and my estimated due date is 15 December!

So so happy and excited and still a little bit in shock!

amysaurus87 · 08/04/2021 11:08

That should have said 3 or 4 weeks!! Shouldn't work and mumsnet at the same time!!

MissOrganisedMe · 08/04/2021 16:20

Hi everyone, I got a BFP this afternoon. Think I'm about 6 weeks with a due date of 5/12/2021.

Those of you that know - for an early scan, are your weeks worked from your LMP so I would be 6 weeks tomorrow but roughly 4 weeks from conception? If I was go book an early scan at 8 weeks from LMP - is that too early?

Congrats to everyone one else with a BFP!

Babycakes39 · 08/04/2021 16:35

Hi @MissOrganisedMe same due date as me! My early scan is on 24 April which will make me nearly 8 weeks. They say to wait to at least 7 weeks as there's a better chance of seeing something and reducing undue worry if you can't see anything there. XXX

Amibaking · 08/04/2021 16:41

I had a positive test this morning at about 10dpo. I don’t quite believe it (pcos and first month of ttc) so will retest in a few days. If it IS true then it will be a December baby. Mind me joining you all?

philadelphiafreedom · 08/04/2021 17:01

Apparently I’m 5+2 but my cycle has really confused me this month!

climbershell · 08/04/2021 17:38

@tuesday2am & @horehound well today I moved 3 jobs to Sat, so I could fit in 2 jobs I didn't have time for on Tues. I didn't do them, just came home early at 4ish! Too tired

I love my work and all good non pregnant, as I only do about 4 days work from 3rd week of Dec until last week of Feb. But deffo need to cut down a lot for several weeks at least I guess.

It's mad to think, this is my last full time season! Plan to be 3 day / week when I'm a mummy

mrsawhite · 08/04/2021 17:51

Quite right @Horehound! I'm trying to not get too carried away thinking about things too much. Did anyone find that their symptoms wore off towards end of the 12 weeks? Mine did but we realised that was something else. But good to know if it's also normal!

MissOrganisedMe · 08/04/2021 21:34

@Babycakes39 so is that 7 weeks from your LMP then?

MissOrganisedMe · 08/04/2021 21:48

I've booked my early scan for 26th April. They've said on the notes that it might need to be transvaginal. Has anyone here had an early scan like that before? I'm not sure that I'm keen. I'll just make sure my bladder is full to bursting!

Babycakes39 · 08/04/2021 21:51

@MissOrganisedMe yep which was 1.3.21. xx

Babycakes39 · 08/04/2021 21:53

@MissOrganisedMe I had a transvaginal ultrasound with my first and it was fine. My husband said it looked like E.Ts finger 😅 it didn't hurt at all and it meant I got to see the heart beating, it was as small as a grain of rice! He's nearly 15 now! Xx

TreeRoad · 08/04/2021 22:28

@MissOrganisedMe I have one next week which is definitely going to be internal.
They just get you to lie on the bed with your lower half undressed and they'll insert a probe (which is apparently thinner than the speculum used for smear tests) before sending some sound waves into your uterus, to show the baby.

It's definitely painless, I'm told, and they'll get you to empty your bladder beforehand as the full bladder is only for the external scans.

How far along will you be? Mine is 6+1 so I'll definitely prepare for the internal one.

MissOrganisedMe · 08/04/2021 23:47

Thanks @Babycakes39.

@TreeRoad - going by my LMP I'll be 8+3.
