@TreeRoad thank you! Just saw your scan. So lovely!! Bet you're relieved 💖 are you UK based? I only ask because I thought most GPs were reluctant to do blood tests to confirm pregnancy here, but it might be my ignorance!

It feels like such a long wait. I don't think partners understand the emotional side from feeling every little twinge to not feeling anything and worrying about it all. I've convinced myself my lines aren't strong enough in one breath, then the next I feel content that everything is good. I've been sat wfh with my tests all lined up 🤪 I don't want to wish my life away, but after the weekend there will only be three weeks until my booking appointment. Might do an early scan then!

TakeYourFinalPosition · 15/04/2021 10:19

I got a positive on Saturday on a cheap test... tested again Monday with a Clearblue without weeks, and that was strong too. Tested with a Weeks Indicator on Tuesday... for 2-3 weeks. Haven’t tested since... but I want to.

My head says use the last Clearblue next week to try and get 3+ weeks, but I’d stress a lot if it was negative.

The doctor called yesterday, I’ll be booked in based on my LMP, so they’re considering me 5+2... I’m pretty certain I’m 4+3, so I expect it’ll be adjusted down at the 12 week scan. But they won’t do bloods or anything to confirm until the scan, because there’s no interventions possible at this stage...

It feels a bit odd to go about normal life knowing there’s a baby there. Or a future baby, I guess! But that nobody is really interested until 12 weeks. I think DH will probably come round to the idea of a private scan, his default when he does something new is to do it “by the book”. I’d love to see it, just to know that it’s okay.

@tuesday2am I’m glad the new test worked!

My doctor told me to step away from them and that they can’t be used to monitor progression, and I’ll just cause myself stress, which is probably true 🙈

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 15/04/2021 10:19

Congrats to those who have seen little heartbeats so far Smile

I've got an early scan booked for Friday next week. I've been holding off doing it because although I'll be 10 weeks by my period dates, I think I'm a couple of weeks behind that so more likely only actually 8 weeks.

I don't know how much reassurance it will give me as last baby stopped growing later than that, but at least I'll know if it's ok at this point anyway.

TreeRoad · 15/04/2021 10:23

@Nellieee Thank you, it's such a relief!

Yeah, I'm in Scotland and I think the only reason I was able to get bloods was because the baby was conceived at a clinic. It's just part of their package to do a blood test rather than a HCG. They also throw in an 8 week scan so I get to go back and see the baby again in a couple of weeks. ☺️

Kinsters · 15/04/2021 10:26

I joined the FB group but now I've got some spotting and am in total panic mode so left. I'll join you all again later hopefully!

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim sorry for your loss. I'll be going for an early scan at 8 weeks if I get that far. With my last pregnancy I felt like it helped the worry for the duration of the scan and then I was immediately back to being a mess!

Kinsters · 15/04/2021 10:29

tuesday2am so pleased for you that it seems like a faulty test x

mrslewis2015 · 15/04/2021 10:47

I tested like mad for ages, stopped last week at 5+6 when sickness got worse and that sort of confirmed everything. My husband is amazing, so kind and gentle and supportive (honestly don’t know how he puts up with me... 😂) but even he doesn’t understand all the early/repetitive testing... I think men are just wired different with these things, in the end I just said I’m going to do it because I want to and if he doesn’t get it it’s fine. Same with early scan, he’s not fussed, but said if I want to then it will be nice. We are on the same page about everything (which is good as we run 3 businesses together!!) but when it comes to womb business 🤷‍♀️ I stick to chatting with womb owners about all our anxiety/excitement/hormone driven strange habits 😂

sophierose77 · 15/04/2021 10:54

Hi everyone, had my scan this morning. Not such great news :( the sac and the yolk were clearly visible but it was really small. Only measuring about 5 weeks :( im fairly certain on my dates as I did an LH ovulation test putting me at 6+4.

Pretty devastated right now - will go back in a week for a rescan to see if there's a miracle x

Sair44411 · 15/04/2021 10:56
@Sair44411 How far along are you? The scan we paid for was £60, which, if you can afford it, is well worth it.

Tell him you're worried about the baby and it'd help you relax and destress a lot if you could see they were ok. Surely he can understand that a stressed Mum is no good for the baby.

I'd highly recommend it if you're anxious. You can't put a price on the peace of mind.
I'm 5+2 - so would still have to wait a little while.
My OH has always been super excited to have children and it's always been me who hasn't felt ready, but he's just acting like it's not happening. It's really upsetting me to be honest but I'm trying to just stay calm and relaxed - telling myself it is still early.

wannabemum38 · 15/04/2021 10:57

Im testing still, cheapies are still strong but cb digital hasn't progressed past 2-3 weeks and I'm.about 6+4 days.

I have a scan tomorrow and I've convinced myself that the sac will be empty and have nothing there. So terrified and anxious.
Have horrible headache today and feel sick too. Such a stressful time

Sair44411 · 15/04/2021 10:59

@Nellieee

Hi girls. For how long did you POAS?

I'm quite restrained generally, not an addict 😂. My CB digital was 1-2 weeks at (I think) 15/16dpo. Would like to see 2-3 / 3+. I had a good FRER line, but not a dye stealer on that day. I have two tests left (one of each) and impatiently want to test. I don't particularly have any symptoms, except for some pelvic twinges and very mild nausea which I sometimes think is in my mind, so think I'm craving reassurance.

I'm also annoyed with myself that I didn't take a photo of my CB before it went out 🤦‍♀️ and now want to see it again! My partner thinks it's stupid to keep testing, and I should wait until Monday. Gahhhhh. I'm rambling now..! But was just curious as to what you all did?

I'm 6 tests in already. I didn't realise the CB digital ones would disappear so had to do another one to know it was still real. Written on them in marker pen now so even if they disappear, I will still feel reassured.

Going to do one more next week to see the 3+ and then will try and stop for good! Grin

TreeRoad · 15/04/2021 11:00

@sophierose77 So sorry to hear that. Were they able to see a heartbeat?

sjhs86 · 15/04/2021 11:03

@sophierose77 So sorry to hear this. Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed the dates are just a bit out.

sophierose77 · 15/04/2021 11:14

@TreeRoad no heartbeat yet. :( the lady was very sweet and said that it may all be fine in a week but feels like somethings not right though I've had no bleeding / cramps and still have sore boobs / tiredness.

Gosh this is all so exhausting.

Hope everyone else has had a better day so far!

sunshineandhope · 15/04/2021 11:15

@MushroomQueen

Gah I’m so so dizzy. I was making my breakfast (bloody yummy again. Might be obsessed with avocado and eggs) just standing there putting on plate when I had to literally hold myself up with cupboard as I was feeling so dizzy all of a sudden. I still feel it now. I’m sitting down and eating hoping it’s sugar related and standing up related. I thought this wouldn’t affect me for weeks yet. In my 2 previous pregnancies I had and still have low blood pressure. But this is very early only 4w 3 days chill out body !
Yesss I've been the same! I'm having to be super aware of when I stand up, and take it slower than usual! I've also just started back in work, and worried that I will the game away too early with my work mates!

I'm a first timer and have all the emotions, just trying to stay positive. It's a crazy little ride isn't it!

(Also eggs and avo are getting me through too!)

TheDamnFoolThatShotHim · 15/04/2021 11:17

Oh @sophierose77. I'm so sorry it wasn't positive news today. It's the most crushing, heartbreaking feeling but I'm sending you all the love.

Have they given a date for a re-scan?

The wait will be tortuous so make sure you have plenty of support if you can. Here if you need anything.

TreeRoad · 15/04/2021 11:18

@sophierose77

Hopefully everything goes ok next week. I agree, it's such a stressful, consuming time.

Dates can definitely be inaccurate. We conceived through a clinic so I know for absolute certain what my dates are. Still, the sonographer told me 3 days ahead, which is fundamentally impossible.

Everything crossed for you!

Nellieee · 15/04/2021 11:21

@sophierose77 I'm so sorry to hear this. Really hoping everything is ok for you!! x

Mayneedanextraroom · 15/04/2021 11:24

@sophierose77 sorry to hear that the scan didn’t go well, I have everything crossed that next week the scan will be ok, thinking of you the waiting is the worst.

@Kinsters quiet here too as I’m also spotting. Just had a call from my midwife and not going to book anything in with her for a couple of weeks until I know what’s happening. I’m holding off phoning the dr as I know it’s so early that a scan may be inconclusive, mw said that I should get referred to the epu though and agreed it doesn’t sound promising :( so will wait and keep everything crossed. I hope everything ok with you too, how far along are you?

lettyloulou · 15/04/2021 11:51

Hi everyone, please can I join you? I had my first ever BFP this morning and I'm in total shock. I'm 33 and have never been pregnant. Partner and I have been trying for about 18 months. Before Christmas I had fertility blood tests at my GP surgery and everything was fine, but we just kinda gave up actively trying in January to focus on other things.

Period was due Sunday (I have regular 29 day cycles) and it didn't show. I didn't think anything of it as I've been a day or two late in the past now and again. It got to yesterday, three days late and I started to wonder so bought a test to do this morning (four days late).

Did the test and - positive. Didn't believe it so ran out and bought a Clear Blue digital and - pregnant. I am in total and utter shock. I never thought this would happen for me, ever.

Anyway. Dating from the first day of my last period I'm 4w4d. Due 19th December. Overwhelmed is an understatement 🥺♥️

Nellieee · 15/04/2021 13:12

Congrats @lettyloulou!! It's a great feeling isn't it. But doesn't quite feel real. You are exactly the same as me 4+4 and due on 19 Dec! Eeks!!!!

lettyloulou · 15/04/2021 13:19

@Nellieee

Congrats *@lettyloulou*!! It's a great feeling isn't it. But doesn't quite feel real. You are exactly the same as me 4+4 and due on 19 Dec! Eeks!!!!
Oh goodness congrats to you too! It doesn't feel real at all! 😱 I've just convinced other half to book an early scan just for peace of mind. I'm 33 and have never been pregnant - have tried here and there with past partners but nothing. I was 99% convinced it would never happen and now here I am living the weirdest but most fantastic day of my life 🥰😂 we're pregnancy sisters 🥺♥️
6543336787gesgvjhg · 15/04/2021 13:22

Hello everyone can I join. I'm 32 we've just done our first round of IVF after trying for 3 years. Got BFP on Monday. First scan booked at clinic for Friday 30th April. Good luck to everyone. Doesn't feel real at all! Currently taking the progesterone passeries at instructed by clinic. Due 16th December by the google calculations haha.

Nellieee · 15/04/2021 14:13

@lettyloulou I'm 33 too! First baby too. Complete pregnancy sisters. Awww it's exciting and scary in equal measures. Do you feel different? Since I found out I've convinced myself I've had waves of nausea, back pain and pelvic stretching. Is it in my mind?! Maybe 😂. Ooh when is your early scan? Think we'll probably do it too. I'm not sure I can wait 8 more weeks!!!

mrslewis2015 · 15/04/2021 14:24

So sorry @sophierose77 hope your doing ok? Have you got anyone around for emotional support etc really really hoping that dates were a little unexpected!
