Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
moominsmummy · 11/11/2007 19:02

I've had bad MS for weeks - the nausea is now going at 16 weeks but I occasionally bring my entire dinner back up

Problem is I am craving the stuff I'm not allowed! - I REALLY want some pate on toast and a peanut butter sandwich (not together though!)

Has anyone else eaten something bannned by the pregnancy police?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 11/11/2007 19:28

moominsmummy - I've eaten peanuts this pregnancy although my salted nut craving is now being fed by pistachios & cashews. DD1 has a peanut allergy and I didn't touch peanuts when pregnant or b/f her. Other 2 DCs don't have peanut allergy and I think I did eat peanut butter with at least one of them.

I've also eaten seafood this pregancy (but I cooked it so I know it's OK - including a great big lobster, all to myself ).

I am craving smooth Brussels pate but I will resist that one.

I've lost 1/2 stone in my first 12 weeks because I feel so sick and am mainly living on fruit, steak, seafood and salad.

manamana · 11/11/2007 21:19

oooooooooooooo, i'm loving this thread, loving idea of 'breakfast pudding' and feeling v relieved that peanut consumption is not viewed as ABH on my unborn child here. Had 3 croissants this morning after cheerios (ds didn't want his croissant and I don't think uneaten toddler food really counts...), then lunch (boringly healthy so won't detail), then out for a carvery roast followed by chocolate and crips in front of relocaion, relocation.... mmmmm. Now off to get a big glass of milk to take to bed and will be picking up my peanut butter tomorrow having fantasise about it for last 24hrs.

wotsits · 11/11/2007 21:40

manamana, I've been craving peanut butter for a couple of weeks now (am 25 weeks pg). Today I made Nigella's peanut butter-chocolate slice (like Reese's peanut butter cups) and cooked a beef pot roast (Delia) with mash, broccoli, carrots, peas and yorkshire pud.

manamana · 11/11/2007 21:44

ohmygod i love reese's pieces - and now its too late to get any, am going to have to take more chocolate to bed with me and stop at the garaghe tomorrow on way to work... going to bed before this thread gets onto strwaberry whips, sour haribos and other things i don't have in at the moment....

mememummy · 11/11/2007 21:47

i seem to ave the craving for full fat milk to, also coke with ice cubes i couldnt stand it before i was pregnant tho anythin with chocolate is good to and pastry also

mememummy · 11/11/2007 21:50

i want strawberry whip to now

Bouncingturtle · 11/11/2007 22:16

I've been having milkshake on the night time.
I've also been having poached eggs on toast with runny yolks too! Yum!
Miss pate though... Might stick some in my hospital bag!

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 13:26

miss pate here too. Have been having peanut butter tho, as soon as i saw article stating advice should be changing i got a spoon of it out of the jar followed by spoon of nutella.

Norty confessions today include large pack of chocolate raisins and scone with cream and jam mmmmmmmmm oo and a frascetta(sp) from costa coffee shop.. the triple choc one.

Accidentally had prawns with chinese spring roll the other nightm but not craving shellfish.

Weeks ago i made up a whole jug of angel delight (butterscotch) and scoffed the lot although admittedly i did feel sick towards the end!

McDonalds but only once a week. so thats not too bad is it? thank god i cannot drive!!

spugs · 12/11/2007 13:43

ive just had a mcdonalds and now feel sick! was very good though. (i dont eat them very often -honest )

i was told prawns were fine as long as there from a reputable source and properly cooked so ive still been having them. also dippy eggs are apparently ok as well as the white is totally cooked as thats where the samonella lurks.

cant stand pate or soft smelly cheese so not missing out there.

really must try to curb my sweet tooth though as my bums getting big! it keeps trying to escape out the back of my jeans

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 13:43

once a week isnt bad at all. With ds1 I would have a adult meal follwoed by a kids meal Thankfully not gone down that road this time.

Can I join in the confessions as well?

Crap food for the weekend:

*Finished a box of 6 mince pies over the weekend (each time warmed up with a bit of single cream - ALLOWED dh to have one)

*2 chocolately Krispy Kream doughnuts on Sunday night - post pudding, pudding

*Packet of Prawn Crakers

*Half a bag of those huge Walkers Sensation 'Thai Sweet Chilli' crips.

*Kebab roll with fries and an hour before that chicken burger with fries.

  • yum yum
MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 13:53

But at allowing dh to have a mince pie.. could have been depriving the baby

scorpio1 · 12/11/2007 13:54

i ate a sausage roll in the middle of town (busy) the other day, with rumbs and everything!

Amani · 12/11/2007 13:57

Awen - yes but he did do the washing up - so I thought he could have one as a treat....

oh and have developed a 'thing' for pickled onions, but they aren't unhealthy so can't be included.....

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 14:02

lol @ picturign scorpio guiltly snaffling the sausage roll, bet you dropped LOADS of crumbs

Amani - DP is lucky if he gets 1 chocolate button atm lol. I am sooo mean.

I ended up cracking open the box of ice lollies in sainsburys on Friday night as they were taking ages to get something for us and i just couldnt wait any more

Minkus · 12/11/2007 14:03

(...pot noodle... preferably still a bit crunchy and not fully absorbed, i.e. only 1 min after adding water not the requisite 3)

Minkus · 12/11/2007 14:05

I am also slavering at the mouth at the ice cubes NBG mentioned ..aarlargghhllaaarl (that's homers doughnut noise in case you didn't recognise it)

Amani · 12/11/2007 14:06

How can you forget all the Christmas chocolates???

Bought three of those 'tubes' chocolates (Rolo X 2 and Milky Bar Buttons) all for me....

Rachee · 12/11/2007 14:16

I had to have a bite of canembert cheese last night..... it sat there oooozzzing, so it just fell of the side into my mouth

chunkypudding · 12/11/2007 14:37

If its good enough for Milla (look here www.usmagazine.com/milla_jovovich) then I don't think we should worry.

God I love that woman

MamaMaiasaura · 12/11/2007 14:41

She is fab

OP posts:
Sarahjct · 12/11/2007 14:48

My baby is being really naughty. All she wants me to eat at the moment is those sea shell hazelnut truffle chocolate things (I want to say Guerlain but that's perfume).

Oh, but she does let me eat cheese on toast, pizzas, flapjacks, chocolate chip shortbread, more cheese on toast, cheese and ham on toast, cheese and ham in toasted sandwiches and custard doughnuts so it's not all bad.

beller · 12/11/2007 14:56

mmmmmmmmmmmm ferrero rochers...... enough said.......
