@AdriannaP
@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

@Bizawit thank you 😊

Good thanks the first 15/16 weeks were a bit iffy with vomiting but has settled down a lot now. I’ve felt a few flutters but nothing really consistent.

How has everyone else been getting on? x

Makingnumber2 · 26/05/2021 15:59

Oh @primrosechill that's amazing!!! So happy for you Grin bet you're on a high right now!

eloiseislost · 26/05/2021 18:41

@primrosechill Congratulations!! ❤️❤️❤️ Amazing news! I can't believe you heard the heartbeat! I haven't yet and I'm 20 weeks, maybe the NHS doesn't offer that?

@sailormoo92 Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the graduates group! 🙂 Not long till your 20-week scan now, how exciting! I had mine yesterday, I was a nervous wreck on the days leading up to it but it was such an incredible experience! Makes the whole thing feel so much more real. 💓

@eloiseislost have you decided whether to find out the gender or not, I can’t decide whether to find out or wait x

eloiseislost · 26/05/2021 20:46

@sailormoo92 Oh we found out at 10 weeks, from the harmony test! 😁

@eloiseislost aww lovely congratulations x

Bluey18 · 27/05/2021 11:01

Aww what a lovely scan @eloiseislost, just beautiful 😍❤

And so thrilled to hear you had a good first scan @primrosechill I'm so happy for you.

Welcome @sailormoo92 hope your 20 week scan goes well 😊

I've discovered that if I put Fanta in the freezer, take it out before it's fully frozen and mash it into a slushie, it works wonders on my sickness..DP keeps saying I will turn orange as its all I'm drinking 😅

I'm debating getting a scan to find out baby's sex soon 🤔. There's a lot of pressure for a boy, as there's no little boys in the family and a whole tribe of girls but I've a feeling I'm having a second little girl and I just want to stop family speculating it's driving me crazy 😅

Hope everyone else is doing well xxx

Makingnumber2 · 30/05/2021 13:39

Hi ladies- how are you all getting on?

Ive got my scan tomorrow - should be 9w exactly- and am just having a little panic as I feel my symptoms have just got less and less over the last 3 days. Boobs less sore, nausea greatly reduced and even my extreme thirst is reduced. Am panicking that this means another MMC. With my last pregnancy I felt symptoms begin but then never really progress and eventually fade.
I will have to go in for scan alone tomorrow as we have no one to watch DD and am just dreading Seeing an empty screen again like last time 😪 my DH and DD will walk me up to clinic door but due to covid rules DD can’t come in. Feeling so anxious about it all even though I’m telling myself it’s pointless to feel anxious because it won’t change the outcome either way. Sorry for venting but haven’t wanted to say my fears to Dh as he has had enough to deal with with his mums funeral only being a few days ago.

primrosechill · 30/05/2021 14:09

@Makingnumber2 sorry to hear you've been feeling so anxious. There is nothing that I can say that you don't know already: which is mainly to try not to worry until you know you have something to worry about, but also be kind to yourself for feeling this way because MC is an awful, traumatic thing and once you've been through it, it's hard not to worry about it happening again... I'll be thinking about you and please let us know how the scan goes as soon as you can! xx

Bit TMI but has anyone on here suffered from an AWFUL constipation in the first trimester? I'm literally bloated like I'm 5 months pregnant already and havent done number 2 in two days. Just feeling like my guts are super stiff and nothing seems to move them - not apples, not prunes, not multigrain stuff. Just feeling soooo uncomfortable and struggling every night with falling asleep. Any tips?!

Makingnumber2 · 30/05/2021 18:16

Thank you @primrosechill for your kind words. It is nice to vent to people who understand what pregnancy after MC is like.
I will definitely let you all know how it goes. My appointment is 9.30 so at least I don’t have too long to wait tomorrow.
Re the constipation- yes I had it really badly in first few weeks. Only tips I can give is drink as much water as you humanly can and be able to go and sit on the loo 20 mins after eating breakfast. I googled this problem and read about this thing called automatic fecal ejection or something like that- it’s supposed to occur soon after eating the first meal of the day. I am usually driving to work within 20 mins of eating so was missing my ‘slot’ for wAnt of a better word... I got up earlier and ate earlier and it did help to some extent. Also doing some exercise always helps get things moving. You could also try gentle tummy massage over bowel area rubbing in a circle but google check which direction the circles go so you go in right direction to stimulate bowel movement. Good luck! It’s so horrible being bunged up!

Bizawit · 30/05/2021 18:56

@Makingnumber2 aww I feel for you so much. I’ve been there with the intense scan anxiety ❤️❤️. But the reality is the overwhelming likelihood is everything will be just fine 🥰. just because you had a MC once before doesn’t make it any more likely it will happen again, and mc without any mc symptoms by is actually pretty rare by 9 weeks. Don’t read into your lack of preg symptoms either- mine were all over the place , up and down, in the first trimester. I just have everything in my heart convinced it will all go well for you tomorrow and you will come out so happy and reassured 🥰.
What time is your scan? X

Bizawit · 30/05/2021 18:57

@primrosechill omg I had the worst constipation in the first trimester- still do sometimes. Iron supplements make it worse FYI...

Makingnumber2 · 31/05/2021 11:39

Quick update- scan went well. Saw heartbeat and baby measuring exactly 9w. Saw baby wiggling and waving arms and legs which was pretty amazing 🥰

primrosechill · 31/05/2021 13:21

Yayy @Makingnumber2 🥰🥰 I can't wait to see some wiggles!

eloiseislost · 01/06/2021 16:53

I've been very busy and it looks like I missed amazing news, I'm so happy for you @Makingnumber2!!! 🌈❤️❤️❤️
How are you feeling?

@primrosechill Ah constipation… Suffered all through the first trimester and still do! The glamour of pregnancy!! I find that if I eat lots of dairy, particularly yogurt, it helps. You can speak to your midwife or GP, there may be something you can take if you're really struggling.

primrosechill · 01/06/2021 22:56

Thanks @eloiseislost - I have my booking appointment this Thursdayso I will add it to the list of things to ask :) I havent been sleeping too well lately which seems to make the constipation worse - it seems like when my body can't fully relax, neither can my guts 😂

Makingnumber2 · 02/06/2021 07:48

I'm feeling ok thanks @eloiseislost- still quite nauseous on and off throughout the day and worse by evening. Feel like my appetite has slowed down a bit- thankfully! I am still only really fancying carbs, savoury stuff and spicy things too. Although I also had a mega craving for celery since the hot weather began- albeit covered with dip... so slightly negating the healthiness of that one!
I still can't quite believe everything looked so good on Monday- I keep watching back the video clips from the scan. Weirdly I also felt my anxiety spike yesterday- couldn't quite put my finger on why. I think maybe the reality of the pregnancy hitting and then becoming overwhelmed with all the things we would now need to get in place like finances - saving for mat leave, childcare once I go back to work from mat leave, having to do up the back bedroom for my toddler so baby can have the nursery etc. It all just hit in a massive wave as I haven't allowed myself to future think whatsoever around this pregnancy unlike last time. Hopefully now all the thoughts have hit I can calm down again!
@primrosechill sorry to hear your sleep isn't great either at the moment. That's really miserable- especially when you're already feeling the general exhaustion of 1st tri! These hormones have a lot to answer for I tell you! I have my 1st midwife appointment this week too Smile it was scheduled originally for last week but I wanted to have the scan first so I asked to move it. Didn't want to sit through another hour long appointment pointlessly like I did last time- felt so bad for wasting their time in the end when I had to email 4 days later to say there wasn't a viable pregnancy. Hope we both get lovely midwives for our first appointments who understand the stresses that come with pregnancy post MC!

Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying this amazing weather we are currently having- it's going to be 27 here today. My DD is at nursery and I'm on holiday from work so I have a full day to myself for the first time in about 8 months. Glorious! My only plan is to go and get some brie from the shop as I have such a hankering for some- rest of the day I think I'll just be lazing in the sun!! Grin

eloiseislost · 02/06/2021 07:55

@Makingnumber2 You need to cook the brie if you're going to eat it.

Sorry, you probably already know! But I'm being overprotective with everyone these days! 😄
I hope you enjoy this glorious day! I'm a little jealous, I have to work and my diary is full of meaningless online meetings! 🙄

OP posts:
Makingnumber2 · 02/06/2021 07:58

Ahh thank you Smile but most supermarket brie is actually pasteurised (the French would be outraged I'm sure!) happily for me! Ugh sorry to hear about the meaningless online meetings- may they all finish earlier than anticipated!

Makingnumber2 · 02/06/2021 08:04

Oh I've just seen on that site it says even if pasteurised brie still isn't recommended because of the white rind! I guess I could cut it off.... I wonder if French women avoid this type of thing in pregnancy?

primrosechill · 03/06/2021 11:45

Hi all, how are you doing? Just had my booking appointment (over the phone) and the midwife was lovely! Very lovely and upbeat which put me in a lovely mood this morning. Only thing is, frustratingly, she told me they are not allowed to give advice on covid vaccination in the pregnancy so she wasn't able to tell me if waiting until second trimester is advised; she told me I need to do my own research and decide what's best for my baby! So I have a bit more thinking to do this weekend - I now got the text for my age group so I could get is asap.

Got my bloods booked in for next Thursday and scan booked in on 1st July at 12+3. I think I will want to do a harmony test before then and schedule a scan alongside it though - 4 weeks feels like a lifetime to wait to find out that everything is still okay!!

primrosechill · 03/06/2021 11:46

Sorry for typos and lots of "lovely" in my message lol - multitasking!

@Makingnumber2 hope you enjoyed your lush day to yourself!

Makingnumber2 · 03/06/2021 12:09

So pleased your midwife was lovely @primrosechill! I’m just about to head out to my appointment. V frustrating she can’t advise really re vaccine. Did you see the webinar that pregnant then screwed did? Maybe also worth reading anything RCOG has put out on it too.
I will deffo be getting mine as soon as 12wk scan is done. Hoping hoping hoping midwife can book me in for it during my 12th week as I’m visiting friends that weekend and would love to share the news with them!
Hope everyone else is well today. I didn’t have Brie in the end yday- I settled for a tuna subway instead. Haven’t had one of those since I went to Uni (so over 10 years ago!) and it was epic.

primrosechill · 03/06/2021 19:00

@Makingnumber2 two people have now recommended the pregnant then screwed webinar now so that's my evening watch!

From what I'm hearing from fellow mums to be and professionals I might wait until the second trimester - so see if I can book it four weeks from now or so. I admit this makes hiding the pregnancy very hard 😂 We're one of the oldest in our immediate friends group and people keep asking me if I've signed up for mine already so I will have to either find a good excuse OR lie that I got it and admit later that I havent haha.

primrosechill · 03/06/2021 19:03

@Makingnumber2 let us know how your booking apt went, too x
