@AdriannaP
@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

Hi all- sorry it’s been a while. Have had a v difficult week. My MIL died yesterday and was v poorly in the run up to her death so that’s sort of taken over as you can imagine.

So lovely to see your beautiful scan pics @Bizawit and @AdriannaP you must be so thrilled to have seen your baby again 💕

@primrosechill really pleased to hear your clearblue is measuring bang in line with what you expect 😊 I hope that helps to keep anxiety at bay. It’s so hard though I know.
I’ve had a lot of cramping yesterday and today and am worried the stress and emotion of this week has caused it. I’m 7w tomorrow and have felt some nausea on and off although not prolonged and my boobs are definitely sorer than they have been. I just have to hope the cramping doesn’t mean anything sinister. 2w tomorrow until my next scan. It really feels like a lifetime away 😫

eloiseislost · 16/05/2021 22:33

@Makingnumber2 I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL. 💔 May she live on in your memories.

Stress and emotion will not affect your pregnancy and cramping is very normal this early on. Two weeks feels like two years in the first trimester, I know, but you'll get there. And you'll see your little bean and it'll all have been worth it! 🌈

We've had a long weekend of building more furniture, clearing out the garage and yet another trip to IKEA! The bump is definitely bigger now and moving around feels… different? I don't know how to describe it, like my hips are looser and I'm clumsier! 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Makingnumber2 so sorry about your MIL, hope you and your husband are coping! And the circle of life does its thing again, with your little bubba on the way ❤️ I hope you're being kind to yourself and taking it slowly these days.

I'm eaxactly 6w today so I'm one week behind you. Today's the point in the pregnancy when I had my MC last time - it's been weighing on my mind and I feel like getting through today is my next big milestone - I know it doesn't guarantee anything yet but I feel like it might give me a little bit more space to breathe and hope.

@eloiseislost my husband and I are looking at houses atm (we're viewing a house that I REALLY like the look of tomorrow) so if all goes according to our plan in the next few months, I might be exactly in the same boat as you with flatpacks etc! Hope your new nest is coming together nicely and I bet you're excited about decorating the nursery soon 🥰

eloiseislost · 17/05/2021 07:49

@primrosechill Woohoo you're 6 weeks -that's halfway through the first trimester already! 🙂 My MC was also at 6 weeks, so I know how difficult it is when you get to that point. Try to think positive, every pregnancy is new, every pregnancy is different and today you ARE pregnant. 🌈❤️
I adore our new home -we've been renting for the past 3 years so having a place we can call ours again is just splendid! It's also within a country park, so I'm hoping I'll have a lot of things to do with a baby right on my doorstep.
Moving was chaos and we are still settling. Initially I was very wary about moving while pregnant but I have found many benefits to it, such as: housework keeps me active, having to think about decorating etc keeps my mind busy and away from negative thoughts and so does planning for the future and the nursery of course! 💝 (A week tomorrow for my scan, if everything is OK, it's nursery time!! 😃)
I hope you find a beautiful new home to bring your baby to! 💕

Thank you for the words of encouragement @eloiseislost ❤️ I've officially made it one day longer than last time, it's something tiny to celebrate.

That said, I'm an absolute ball of anxiety right now: I've had period like pains on and off the last 24 hours and a recurring pinching pain on my lower left side. I keep worrying this is it 😔 mostly because the pinching one sided pain was my worry last time and we all know how it ended. I keep telling myself that there is literally nothing I can do for the bean so early on - whatever will be, will be - so I just need to focus on my own calmness and well being, but it's so tough. I keep having this awful feeling that we'll see the house today, fall in love with it, make an offer on a 3 bed with dreams of raising a small human in it, only for the universe to laugh in my face again. Honestly, dear brain: could you stop writing these scenarios and making me worry in advance, please?! I'm just really emotional.

Sorry to be the Debbie Downer on here, I just bloody wish I was at least 8w, so I could see how much lower I am on the chart of MC probability 😩

eloiseislost · 20/05/2021 08:47

Hi everyone!

@primrosechill I know exactly how you feel, I had all sorts of pains in the first trimester and I was freaking out constantly! Our bodies are changing at an incredible pace if you think about it. I know how an MC takes away the innocence and wonder of it all and the brain immediately goes back to the trauma at the slightest trigger. Sending a big hug!

@Makingnumber2 I hope you and DH are doing OK. ❤️

5 days until my anomaly scan!! 😬 Anxiety is through the roof, I feel sick just thinking about it…

OP posts:
primrosechill · 23/05/2021 17:38

@eloiseislost how are you? I met our friends' adorable 10 month old girl for the first time today and watching my hubby play with her literally made my ovaries (or maybe my bean?) squeak haha. I think he is going to be such a cute dad and I just can't wait. I also have a feeling that between us asking 84629 questions about the kid and me repeatedly declining their wine offers, the friends probably figured out what is going on 😂

My anxiety is A LITTLE bit better at the moment, I will be 7 weeks tomorrow. Big week for both you and I coming up: You have your anomaly scan on Tue and I have my first ever scan on Weds (private through my ivf clinic) 😱 I decided I will also call a midwife tomorrow to tell them I'm pregnant: maybe it's silly but I've been really scared to call them and "jinx" it (last time I called right away and as we know I never made it to my booking appointment), so I said I would wait until 7w which is a full week longer than what the pregnancy lasted last time. I need to stop being scared though and just hope this one is here to stay and do all the right things for the little human that right now is very much growing inside me (and making me ready to sleep every day at 7pm 😆)

How is everyone else doing? X

eloiseislost · 23/05/2021 20:29

@primrosechill I'm good, thank you, getting bigger by the minute! 😂

Aw we have our scans so close together, I pray we both get only good news! 🙏🏼 🌈 💞

I remember the 7pm bedtime 🥱 of the first trimester! DH was complaining that it was "like living alone" because as soon as he was off work, I was off to bed. I'm still desperate for sleep and can't get enough of it but I've become more functional.

Hi everyone- hope you’re all doing well. Sorry I’ve not been on here much at all. Life has been feeling quite overwhelming but only a few more work days left until school holidays thank goodness.
How exciting @primrosechill that you have your first scan this week! Can’t wait to hear all about it. Also deffo good idea to get booked in with midwife as they’ll refer you for your 12wk scan usually- so if your booking appmt doesn’t happen til w bit later it can push your 12w scan later. Your clinic may also offer a 12w though?
@eloiseislost so exciting your 20w scan is this week too! Can’t wait to see the pics of bubba 🥰

I’m 8w today and feeling exhausted. Also think my evening sickness started last night. I’ve had bad nausea most evenings and mid morning for a week or so but last night I was actually sick. It was badly timed during toddlers story time and bed time. I felt so shivery and just awful and basically slept 7.30-6.15. Part of me is dreading this sickness as in my first pregnancy it went from week 8-28. Every night. However another part of me is thinking it’s a positive sign because I never got such strong nausea or vomiting with my last pregnancy. My ubiquInol is nearly running out and I’m in two minds Over whether to continue it as I can’t help but pin falling pregnant so soon after the d and c on starting to take it. Is anyone else taking it or did take it during first tri?

eloiseislost · 24/05/2021 18:11

@Makingnumber2 So nice to hear from you, I hope you and DH are keeping well.
In terms of the ubiquinol, there are no known benefits to pregnancy, it's more of a fertility aid from what I gather. I personally have been taking Pregnacare Plus throughout this pregnancy and my midwife is happy with this. They are always on offer at Tesco.
I hope the nausea stays at a level that gives you reassurance but doesn't completely drain you! 🤞🏼
Mine has eased now but I still get it when I am tired or stressed and today I'm both! 🤢
Praying that my little girl is growing nicely in there, I will post scan pics tomorrow! 💕

There she is, my perfect little girl! 💝
Brimming with joy!! Best anniversary gift I could have ever hoped for. 🥲🥰
The only thing is, my placenta is anterior and low, so I will have another scan at 32 weeks. Hoping it will have resolved by then! 🤞🏼

@eloiseislost I was JUST about to message to check in and then saw your message - whey what excellent news ❤️ hope you and your hubby get to enjoy the rest of your anniversary stress-free now!

@Makingnumber2 sorry to hear you've been feeling so sick - hope it won't stay on as long this time round for you!

Quick q: Did all of you ladies get your vaccinations while already pregnant? My age group is coming up soon and I'm happy to follow the general nhs advice to get vaccinated, even though of course a part of me is anxious about how little info they have really on how it affects pregnancy/baby

eloiseislost · 25/05/2021 13:00

@primrosechill Thank you! ❤️
I had my first dose on the day of ovulation 😂 and the second one just after 15 weeks, as I'm a healthcare professional.
For me it was an easy choice, after doing some research of my own as well as watching webinar from RCOG and the US equivalent. There is no biologically plausible mechanism in which an RNA vaccine could harm a baby, whereas there are established data about the impact of COVID-19 on babies and mothers, which are downright terrifying.
It is still is and always will be a personal choice of course, so don't feel pressured either way, try to read on it as much as possible, filter your sources, clear your mind and do what you feel is best for you and your bub! 🌈

primrosechill · 25/05/2021 13:46

Hi @eloiseislost that is actually so helpful and assuring, thank you! I am of course 100% pro vaccine, just overthinking everything now that there are two of us - to hear your opinion both as a mum to be and as a healthcare professional is super reassuring x

Bizawit · 25/05/2021 14:10

CONGRATULATIONS @eloiseislost 🥳 🎉. What a milestone 🤩. So happy for you and happy anniversary.

@primrosechill I am definitely going to get the vacs (booked in for next week!) but I was told by my obstetrician to wait until 14 weeks. I think that’s the official advice / guidance as well. I think in the US they say get it any time so I’m not sure what the thinking behind waiting to the second trimester is, but maybe just to be extra safe in case of any strong side effects - like fever etc - which may be less than desirable in the 1st trimester. When are you having your 1st scan? It must be coming up soon?

@Makingnumber2 so sorry to hear that you are feeling so sick :(. I’m 13+5 over here and still being sick most days 😨. It’s horrible, but I try and look on the positive side that it’s a reassuring sign that the little one is still growing strong in there 💪🏻. It’s a double edged sword I guess...

eloiseislost · 25/05/2021 14:34

@Bizawit Thank you! 💓 My heart was racing throughout the whole scan, but at the same time it was incredible to see the baby wiggling, kicking and punching! 💕 How are you these days?

OP posts:
Makingnumber2 · 25/05/2021 16:15

@eloiseislost oh wow what a gorgeous little bubba!! What a great anniversary present for you and DH :) So pleased all is well.

@primrosechill I've just been offered the vaccine too and have decided to wait until 12weeks to get it. No idea why I feel that will make any difference but just want to not have it during 1st tri and after a (hopefully successful) 12wk scan. It is deffo a v personal decision though.

@Bizawit ugh poor you- the sickness is miserable! I didn't have any last night though so am now thinking was it food poisoning??
I slept really badly last night and am exhausted right now so I wonder if it's a tiredness thing as I was knackered on sunday evening. Time will tell!

primrosechill · 25/05/2021 17:13

Thank you @Bizawit and @Makingnumber2 I will do a bit more research on this myself and also have the conversation with my midwife and the doctors at the ivf clinic tomorrow.

My first scan is tomorrow 😱 nerrrrrves.

eloiseislost · 25/05/2021 23:00

@primrosechill Best of luck for tomorrow!! Keeping everything crossed for you! 🤞🏼 🌈 ❤️

GOOD LUCK @primrosechill. thinking of you ❤️❤️ Update us when you can 🥰

primrosechill · 26/05/2021 14:26

Just had my scan: A perfectly healthy heartbeat and baby measuring correctly, based on estimation that I'm 7+2 today. It was honestly the most magical thing, seeing (and hearing) the tiny heart on the screen 🥰🥰🥰

sailormoo92 · 26/05/2021 14:46

Hey

Hope it's okay to jump in this post I posted a couple times on the previous thread.

I'm 18 weeks + 5 today, impatiently waiting for the 20 week scan.

x
