@MamaJ8

What about this image..? x
Definitely looks like a wee boy to me OP.

I'm expecting my third dc, we are having a surprise with this one, but saw exactly the same as what you have posted in this pic at our dating scan and hubby and I both said afterwards, "well looks like we are having a little boy"

MamaJ8 · 16/03/2021 13:57

Have you had another scan @MamaJ8?

Bumstowipegottago · 19/03/2021 16:33

Any update @mamaj8? Last post on the 16th?

MamaJ8 · 23/03/2021 16:03

Hi Ladies, had my re scan. Tech said girl.. here's a potty shot. I was 17w+5, she highlighted the umbilical cord to show that the genitals clearly.

Still looks super different to my other girls, I also see something leaning to the right.

Ah glad you got another scan - I think you can trust it this time, that bit further on and hopefully tech was more thorough! Sorry that you still feel a bit in doubt but if a boy pops out at the end at least you won’t be too shocked!! 😬 Congratulations on baby girl ☺️

MamaJ8 · 23/03/2021 17:03

Thanks, I was very shocked.. have anatomy in 2 weeks x

I’m still confused by this thread.
Mamaj8 was told with certainty that she was having a girl. The company gave a rescan as mamaj8 asked for one- and found its still a girl. Mamaj8 is still unconvinced and sees something off to the right (I can’t see anything) and jchina makes comments about how the first scan wasn’t thorough - when actually it was completely correct in saying it was a girl. Seems the scan was perfectly thorough?
When I found out the gender of my baby’s I didn’t ask for the opinions of untrained and inexperienced people online and thank goodness I didn’t. Looking back over this thread there are so many people who stated with confidence that this was a boy and they were all wrong.
Am I missing anything?
Congratulations on your baby baby girl.

Jchina · 23/03/2021 18:40

@Bumstowipegottago the OP said that in the original scan that she felt rushed and the tech couldn’t get a proper between the legs shot so yes, I would imagine getting a second scan with that shot seems more thorough?
For what it’s worth I haven’t ever questioned a scan myself and don’t even have the relevant photos to second guess mine, for example, but if someone is feeling uncertain then it seems fair and right that the scan place would reassure them, (which clearly they happily did by doing another scan!) given that they have paid for that specific reason. Or am Imissing something? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bumstowipegottago · 23/03/2021 19:03

@jchina my point remains valid. In the scan to determine the gender of my children, I accepted the gender given by the professional - and they were correct every time. The OP has stated that she asked the company after scan 1 and they further confirmed the gender. I don’t think it’s their job to train her to be able to determine gender or scan again and again until she feels she can determine the gender.
IF the company is correct and it’s a girl, they have done their job in scan 1. They have scanned again and still the OP is unconvinced. I assume the OP didn’t pay for the second scan? Even though though the first scan was correct? If that were in my profession, if the jobs correct first time, you don’t get a second service for free.
I also think it’s concerning how many keyboard experts came to the post and stated that she was having a boy. They were all wrong and this clearly upset and concerned the OP further.
Perhaps my lack of understanding in the whole post is because I trusted the person who told me the gender of my children and didn’t try to do their job. If the OP had done the same she could have saved this much upset?

fatisnotafeeling · 23/03/2021 19:34

@MamaJ8 do you have any more pictures from this scan ? I cannot see a 'girl' at all, I'm not qualified to be fair but from scans I've seen of a girl this scan doesn't seem to match unless I'm just not seeing it.

MamaJ8 · 24/03/2021 21:16

@fatisnotafeeling.. Hi, not great pictures to be honest.

OP posts:
MamaJ8 · 24/03/2021 21:28

This one is flatter, less of a bulge.. little something poking out in the middle but that's too small to be a penis!

I think in the absence of any obvious boy parts you should go with a girl. My boy scan was very very obvious.

MamaJ8 · 25/03/2021 14:18

Yes, Definitely not seeing a penis unless its tucked awayGrin. Will see if on the anatomy scan they can just check her girl parts not to look for boy bits but to make sure she is forming okay. Never seen girls look like this and now this is concerning. All babies can look different, but to not resemble any of her 4 sisters is rather strange. May be just the angle of the shots.

But yes, need to now quit stressing.
X
