@MamaJ8

This is another image where I'm seeing a cord then babys bits nudged to the right side..

This one actually looks like your image quite alot..

I'd definitely say boy although I'm not a sonographer. I'd advise phoning and asking them to rescan you. We got lots of 'potty' shots and the sonographer took her time to explain what we were seeing.
SandysMam · 13/03/2021 12:16

You sound very aggressive OP. At 15 weeks it is really hard to tell. The sonographer will have scanned babies with no heartbeat, that will stay with them forever, saying they will get it for making a mistake on sex at 15 weeks is pretty horrible. Hopefully at your 20 week scan your baby will be healthy with no major deformities and that will be your main concern over what is between it’s legs.

Jchina · 13/03/2021 12:16

Did you tell her you have 4 girls already? I wonder if that biased her on what she was seeing? This is my boy at 15+4, the sonographer was very confident this he’s a boy!

Jchina · 13/03/2021 12:17

Argh it won’t post, sorry!

MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 13:31

@SandysMam I "sound aggressive".. to you maybe. I paid for a service that quite frankly was not performed well... I didn't buy a faulty snickers that I want refunded for.. I paid £49 for a gender scan that was far from just that.

Everyone makes mistakes, which is fair enough.. but to have a Tech who's job was to look for the sex of my baby yet failed to do this.. became annoyed that baby was moving to fast then proceeded to push the scanner deeper an deeper into my stomach.. had an attitude then concluded based on hardly looking that baby is a girl.
This is not a MISTAKE this is can't be arsed!

Yes.. I'm allowed to be frustrated.. if I was aggressive.. Believe me, I would of been my outspoken self and made an issue. But because I was seeing my baby I really didn't want it to be even worse..

You was not at the scan, if I want to call back and complain then I will.. and yes they will 'get it' seems as you have no idea what my 'get it' is you have no basis to call me aggressive..

MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 13:37

@Jchina Yes, I told her I have girls.. I also thought has this caused bias. Out of all the scans I have had, this is by far the most strange.. I mean, Iv'e had moody Techs in the past.. of course they are concentrating on obtaining measurements ect.. but there is a basic respectable way you speak to people instead of dampening the experience..

@Jchina Thanks for trying to post your pic. If your new I think you have to wait 2 days before your allowed to post images. X

You could do the sneak peek blood test? I think it's got £20 off at the minute so £59. It does seem like unfortunately it was just a bit early to say on the scan. (I went for my 20 week scan last week and they couldn't tell me due to babies position - I was gutted!)

MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 13:48

@GreenSlide Would you go for a private scan to try and see?

OP posts:
MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 13:54

@GreenSlide Iv'e seen a lot of incorrect results with Sneak Peek. I looked on Amazon earlier today and seems incorrect female results are on the rise.. so really a 50/50 until babies sex is confirmed via' another method. Apparently they have more cases opened against them since the 2016 lawsuit.

@ImAbsolutelyTwatted I also think this, especially when seeing your scan picture and mine looking so similar. Nothing on yours looks remotely like a girl. We shall see... x

You don’t sound any less aggressive in this post, to be honest.

It’s a scan, it’s not going to be 100% accurate at telling you the sex of your baby especially at 15 weeks. Saying that they’re going to ‘get it’ if your baby turns out to be a boy is absolutely ridiculous.

Oh really! Glad I didn't get one myself then. I've got another nhs scan next week because there were other things they didn't see properly so I am hoping they can tell me then. If not I'll go for a private scan, I had one with my first baby and they were really good, it's a shame you had such a crap experience with yours.

JumperooSue · 13/03/2021 14:22

They would have told you that no scan is 100% accurate and you probably would have agreed this when you booked in the terms and conditions. I get you’re frustrated but to me, I sonographer checking a babies heartbeat and general well-being sounds like an excellent sonographer to me. Yes you pain for a “gender scan” but overall well-being is surely your main concern of your unborn child, there would have been no point her telling you the gender of your baby before she confirmed your baby was 1)alive and 2) appear anatomically well.

MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 14:33

@ImAbsolutelyTwatted I just emailed the scanning company requesting a re scan. I attached some pictures showing why I'm in doubt.

See what they say... x

Some real sensitive people chiming in that are leaching onto the word 'aggressive'

I didn't get what I paid for in confidence.. simple as that really. People complain for less and behave a lot more annoyed. I have every right to feel how I do as I have literally been trying to make sense of all the images I have.. The tech was not the best, you were not in the room. Had you experienced the same then you may have had the same feeling provoked. Now, I'm not really bothered on how aggressive you believe me to be based on.. nowt!

My post is to try to ascertain some understanding from fellow mothers on my scan picture...

I'm also fully aware that the scans are not 100%, never did I state that they are... Had you read why I'm frustrated then you may be more open minded to understanding my point.

OP posts:
MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 14:52

Lord.. 'get it' as in a phone call to complain. Not set bombs around the perimeter of the building and holding the Tech hostage!

It's time to move on....

OP posts:
eensyweensySpider · 13/03/2021 15:03

I'd be more inclined to say girl too. Have a look at mine for comparison. Taken exactly at 16 weeks at a private ultrasound. The tech said "...and that's not a third leg!"

MooreLew · 13/03/2021 15:07

My sister had a similar issue with a scan with window to the womb, but she was 16 weeks. Really 15 weeks is too early to be 100% sure anyway. They may advertise gender from 15 weeks (although most do from 16). Dating the pregnancy can be inaccurate, meaning you may actually be closer to 14 weeks or closer to 16. Therefore baby might not be as developed. To me your scan shows a girl. Boys are usually a lot more obvious than that. I clearly see a difference in your scan and the previous poster. I would wait until the nhs anatomy scan where it is likely to be more accurate. Or if not get a rescan at 16/17 weeks when you could be certain. When babies are that small it can be really difficult to ascertain the sex.

eensyweensySpider · 13/03/2021 15:08

Maybe we were just lucky to have a very clear shot!! I'd definitely be asking for a rescan too if you aren't convinced / are unhappy with the service. Nothing wrong with that!

MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 15:27

@eensyweensySpider... Thanks for the picture.. definite boy! What I have learnt is that not all boys are as obvious.. I did some comparing to boys online and my images..

I don't see the shape of the labia ect with a girl in my images.. but this is why I'm here.. for adviceSmile

@MooreLew.. Hi, I also did the scan because other half was not allowed to attend the dating scan due to Covid. So thought would be a nice way for him and the children to see a video... I assumed that as they advertised from 15 weeks then it would be fine..

I just posted some pictures in response to previous poster.. you can see why I'm questioning! What parts resemble a girl do you think... 😊

You sound annoyed she spent more time on the measurements and heartbeat?! Well these things are more important.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 13/03/2021 15:43

Those pics are crap, OP, sorry. Had mine done at 17 weeks and they were so clear. Well, DD looked like a creepy alien but you knew she was a baby.

MamaJ8 · 13/03/2021 15:50

@Curtainsclosedplease, not at all... never once said that!
