Congratulations @Summertime1992 🎉

jbx10 · 27/02/2021 13:59

@Summertime1992 yayyy congratulations! I'm sure you'll be home in no time ❤️

@Stef92 I would say pack plenty snacks & drinks to provide you with energy.

Advice from any BF mums, have you given your LO a dummy? I think she would like a comforter and she may be going to the breast for this when she's not hungry but I don't want her to get confused with latching. Has anyone had any experience with this? X

Summertime1992 · 27/02/2021 14:26

@jbx10 I have been recommended by the midwife to get mine a dummie as she uses me none stop as a dummy so far, my partner as got the tommi teepi breast feeding dummies from boots as I need a rest xx

Stef92 · 27/02/2021 14:30

@jbx10 think we are all sorted for the snacks 🤣 going to make some sandwiches up the night before I'm due in. Did you pack any additional clothes for you? I have a few nighties and clothes to come home in but did you take additional tops etc

babydust2412 · 27/02/2021 14:37

Does anyone know when you can have a bath again after a section? Been having showers but am just desperate for a nice soak in the bath 😩❤️

jbx10 · 27/02/2021 14:45

@Summertime1992 that's what I think my LO is doing too! I just didn't want to confuse her but that's good to know your MW actually recommended it. I have a few here ready I might introduce those next week and see how we go.

@Stef92 yes pack plenty comfy clothes you don't know how long you'll be in there whilst the induction is working and then after the birth too. I lived in big t shirts and disposable knickers ... oh so glam 😂

nursey1993 · 27/02/2021 15:12

@Stef92 Id bring extra nighties definitely, big loose ones! I was only in one night but went through 3 nighties and a brief wearing of pyjamas as well !! Definitely an extra long phone charger & lots of nice juices/drinks. Oh and i mostly used the hospital pads and net pants but would defs bring more than you think of your own just incase!! And have a few different sizes of clothing, i didnt think Hollie would be 8lbs 12 but had up to 1 month and first size and all first size too small as shes so long @57cm so it buttoned but her wee legs was squished up !

Congratulations @Summertime1992 !!

Stef92 · 27/02/2021 15:18

@nursey1993 I've not bought an first sizes (except a few vests) as they've always said he will be towards 8lbs going off my growth chart! I've just done my washing so I'll try to put some more tops etc in my bag.

I'm currently on my ball trying to force something to happen. Really just want him here now 😂

I was told to wait 4 weeks minimum, it's really bad to bath with them

babydust2412 · 27/02/2021 15:44

@TeaPiglet Thankyou! 🥰 I was told I could bath as soon as I'm discharged from the midwife to the health visitor, I've been discharged now but it still seems to soon to me, I'm going to wait another week ❤️

TeaPiglet · 27/02/2021 16:56

@Babydust2412 tbf was 2 years ago I had my csection and with dissolvable stitches. Don't know what they use anymore but a week seems a bit soon to get out the bath after Cs let alone soak. It's your body so just do it when you feel right

babydust2412 · 27/02/2021 17:01

@TeaPiglet I'm 17 days postpartum now xx all my midwives have told me my scar is healing beautifully so I think I might try a quick bath in a week or so x

Char41zam · 27/02/2021 17:02

@babydust2412 they recommend it after 10 days but I waited 2 weeks I’m now 4 weeks post party and I just got my period yesterday, gutted as no more baths till it goes but it definetly helped me heal x

Char41zam · 27/02/2021 17:02

Partum* definetly not party lol

nursey1993 · 27/02/2021 17:37

@babydust2412 i asked this yesterday before discharge too and was told i can bath straight away? Im day 2 today so gonna wait till i can take the dressing off then bath - i bought the expert midwive bath salts and im nearly sure it says can be used for sections !

babydust2412 · 27/02/2021 18:06

@Char41zam @nursey1993 ah lovely!! Might try a bath then 😊

nursey1993 · 28/02/2021 07:24

The things you be thinking about at 7am 🤣 The bath!!! I checked that soak for your bits, it says can be used in bath after section once dressing removed cause the dressing obviously acts as a barrier, so bathing is all good I'd say!! Although, ai could think of nothing worse than trying to get in and out of a bath atm, but I cant wait for a soak when im able ❤ So enjoy your soaks now girls, very jealous!! Id say just dont add bubble bath obvs youse will be fine

Ariana87 · 28/02/2021 08:58

@Newmumfeb2021 same here with the soreness. I couldn’t have stitches for the tears as they just couldn’t get me on my back with the coccyx injury but I’ve got a tear where my previous episiotomy scar was..ouch! I’m just trying to do same as you keep it clean and dry and I’ve been having several showers and baths a day to try to soothe it. Can’t remember how long it takes to heal let alone when I’ve had no stitches. Makes me cringe just thinking about it 🙈

Ariana87 · 28/02/2021 09:00

Has anyone been told they can use Epsom Bath Salts? I brought some specifically for after birth but the packet says not to use if open wounds? I assumed it would help heal them but perhaps not?

Stef92 · 28/02/2021 09:20

Covid test at 11.30 for me today and then self isolating until I'm dropped off at hospital on Tuesday. I know I've rarely been out during my pregnancy but being told I can't leave the house has me a bit anxious. Getting ready to join the March club tomorrow as baby is completely happy inside and doesn't want to budge 🙄🙄

TeaPiglet · 28/02/2021 09:31

@Stef92 I'm joining you with the March club too so you're not alone, just plan loads of small things to keep you occupied for a few days. Organise cupboards or batch cooking etc

Theonewheretherewas4 · 28/02/2021 09:31

After convincing myself baby would come early like my previous 3 I’m definitely going to be a March mummy. Booked in with midwife on Tuesday and will be having a sweep but hopefully madam makes an appearance before then.

Stef92 · 28/02/2021 09:45

@TeaPiglet ive already done this as was convinced he was coming this month 🙄🤣

KB13 · 28/02/2021 09:48

@Theonewheretherewas4 I think I read previously that we have the same due date 04/03. This is my 3rd and I was also convinced he would come early, I now think he would come in April if it was physically possible for him 🙈 he just doesn’t seem to want to budge no matter what I do. Today I have given up and will just relax with my other 2 this week before they return to school next Monday 😄😄

faithfulbird20 · 28/02/2021 09:56

My contractions started at 2am last night. So rang hospital at 5.30, was told to take 2 paracetamols as contractions were every 8 mins. After I put the phone down they were coming every 2 mins. Omg the agony. Went crying into the hospital, waters broke in the car... held sink in the triage and honestly thought I was going to collapse...apparently I had arrived at the hospital ready to push so was taken to have my baby till I was pushing....midwife was shocked as she saw a bum first and hands...then she said naah they're legs! My baby was breech! I honestly was so shocked...then they pressed the alarm and took me to have a c section (honestly there were 14 people in the room helping and I wasn't prepared for a c section) but they delivered my baby naturally. I've not seen her yet as she's been put on oxygen and my blood pressure is very high...but omg this birth was so diffferent to my first...how on earth did the midwife not know 2 days ago that she was breech...she was telling me baby's head was 3/4 or 3/5 engaged....good luck to anyone else waiting to have their baby..honestly the wait is worth it...even though scary...I'm just worried about being away from my 3 year old toddler for 3-4 days...poor child was rubbing my back when I was having contractions every 2 mins. I was screaming like a wounded dog....
