Hi Ladies, loving that we have e Pugh success stories and chat for part 5!

@SunnySideUp2020 honestly I'm very mixed about it. I wouldn't say I love, Some days I feel like it's going great, others not so much but I suppose formula could be the same. If his rash doesn't clear and they suggest I cut dairy tho I'm not sure I could manage that..I live off dairy and bread😄 also if the mastitis happens again I'll def stop as caring for a newborn is hard enough never mind adding a fever and agonising boob (which he loves to kick and punch😄) to the mix!! So I suppose I'll continue another couple weeks and decide then. He's also such a hungry baby which is very time consuming when BF but he'll guzzle down a bottle in no time so that may also become a deciding factor too.

@SunnySideUp2020 hopefully your uterus starts to ramp up a bit now over the next few days and you don't have too long past your due date to go! I'm so grateful my guy didn't make me wait..he must have known how impatient his mummy is and that waiting would have killed me 😄 if it helps I decided to get down abs scrub the grout with vinegar and baking soda the day before my waters broke..and I'm delighted I did as we've lovely clean grout now too and it's not gonna be cleaned for a long time again😂

Welcome @Nuggetlover27 lovey to see you hear. So I have no experience of no skill but as the girls are said the sonographer didn't seem too concerned about it and said it was quite normal so fingers crossed it's there to see when you go back in a few weeks. Definitely try and stay off google! Dr Google is not useful x

@SunnySideUp2020 did she give you any tips to wake your uterus up? Hope she decides to kick it up a notch and gets you going.

I have lost some mucus plug just now... nothing else!

@BecsterG she suggested having sex (sperm to help soften cervix), eating pineapple with a tonic water 😄
I did the three last night and did end up with bad period pains for 5 hours!!!
I think it was the sex tbh.

Thanks ladies! The birth wasn’t exactly what I had in mind!
I went to the hospital to get induced yesterday morning at 10am but after waiting 3 hours was told they were too busy to admit me and to come back at 10am the next day. I asked if they’d at least give me a sweep which they did and I was 3-4cm so they then said they’d be able to break my waters the next day so booked me straight in to the labour ward for 8am Saturday morning.
I started having contractions around 6pm Friday evening every 15-20 mins and rang the hospital about 8 to let them know, due to the fact I knew they were so busy. I was basically told they didn’t have the capacity to take me so would need to travel to a different hospital! Luckily this is about the sane distance from us so not too much of a problem though I was annoyed and upset not to be giving birth at the hospital I’d chosen.
The labour coordinator then rang me from the new hospital and was lovely- said she’d get me a nice room ready and we could go in when we wanted and they would break my waters or leave me labouring depending on how I felt. So off we went, contractions were coming about every 10 mins at this point so I knew I wasn’t in established labour.
Arrived at hospital at 9.45pm and after getting settled in I made the decision that they could break my waters. So they did this at 11:05pm (I was still 4cm at this point) and within minutes the contractions were coming thick and fast 4 in 10 minutes! It was very very intense! I was just starting to feel like I couldn’t do it anymore as it was so painful when I felt a huge amount of pressure and shouted I needed to push! The midwife looked at me like I was crazy but sure enough after 2 massive pushes they could see her head and quickly had to rush to get another MW in the room! Another couple of pushes and Rosa was born with one hand up on her face (making it extra difficult!) at 00:17! She had meconium in her waters so there was a doctor waiting at the resuscitation table but luckily she scored well on her apgar and didn’t need to be taken from me.
It was extremely painful and at times scary as the pain just came on so fast which wasn’t expecting. But I’m so happy and relieved she’s here safely! She passed both of her blood sugar checks so as long as she passes her next set of obs due at midnight then we can go home in the morning!

Wow @scrumdiddly123 what an ordeal! In some ways really great that she made a speedy arrival but sorry that it was so painful and you had to have her in a different hospital. Really pleased everything is okay though and hope you're at home now having a cup of tea cuddled up with your gorgeous newborn and the rest of your family around you! Xx

It's funny how everyone goes through the 'I can't do this' bit and then suddenly the urge to push takes over! Well done mama it hurts like a b*ch but so worth it. Look at gorgeous Rosa. 🥰

@SunnySideUp2020 sounds promising! Fingers and toes crossed she makes an appearance very soon.

4 years ago today I was just about to get into a bath as I was having mild contractions! Little did I know this would ramp everything up and two hours later I'd meet my little Max. Four tomorrow! Time flies. 🥰💙x

So the cervix was soft but still long and i was 1 to 2 cm dilated. I didn't really feel anything when she did the sweep so wonder what she actually did 🤔
I have to go back for another one on Thursday.

So very tired of waiting...

Oh wow ! Cogratulations @scrumdiddly123 Rosa is so beautiful and you did amazing. You were so strong going through all that, I know it's worth it but woman you did absolutely fantastically, it was not easy! Really love the name, was on the top of our list too, gorgeous 🥰🥰

Sorry I've only just seen you've had her, you should be so proud of yourself, fast labours are horrible! So intense, I've been there! Painful too so I really hope your being waited on hand and foot now. All the live to you 💜
