Ahh ladies it's been one of those weeks so far this week for me 😩 ended up in hospital all yesterday for a suspicious hard vein on my leg which they wanted checking out to rule out a clot because of my blood. Turns out they think it's just one of those lovely pregnancy symptoms and I've got a lovely bulging varicose vein which runs down pretty much my entire leg 😑 hopefully once baby has evacuated in a few months that too will disappear. Then today I've had my midwife appointment and my bump is measuring quite small! It took me completely by surprise as I feel huge some days and people have been commenting that I look big 😔 I was anxious before that I was going to be told I'm measuring big (and had been worrying about GD as it runs in the family!). So I've got to go for a growth scan tomorrow - anyone had similar and all been ok?! Midwife did say she's not too concerned and there's lots of reasons it might be measuring small and could be completely normal for me but because I'm below 5th percentile they have to do growth scans as a precaution. Just when I thought everything had been smooth sailing!

@Fizzl That sounds stressful !

Could you wear compression socks to help with the blood flow and varicose vein?

Don't be too concerned about bump measurements. Scans are not that accurate but fundal height even less...
Good that they are scanning you and checking but please don't worry just yet. What time is the scan? Let us know how it goes.

Nothing to report here still. Sweep did absolutely nothing. Neither did sex yesterday.
And today had a weird episode of sweats shakes etc and so tomorrow going to monitoring, sweep AND glucose test 😅

Oh @Fizzl I'm sorry ur having such a stressful time. But hopefully nothing to worry about. My bump was only measured at 36 weeks abs I was measuring 2 weeks behind. I wouldn't get too bogged down on bump size as he was definitely not 2 weeks behind inside!!

@SunnySideUp2020 she's obviously very comfy in there😄 hopefully she doesn't leave you waiting too much longer..I'd say it's torture!!

Ah worry over! Scan showed she is growing just fine. She's a little on the petite side but now plotting much more nicely on the centiles based on the scan measurements and definitely closer to where they expected. So long as her growth remains consistent they're not concerned now. Think she's just quite tucked away.

@SunnySideUp2020 I could wear compression stockings - I have some anyway for when I fly. I did ask if there was anything I could do and they just said to stay mobile and drink lots of water which I do anyway. The worse bits are where it bulges out at the inner side of my knee and top of my thigh and then it tails off into a lovely large spider vein on my calf 🤦🏼‍♀️. At least it's only cosmetic is what I'm trying to tell myself!

Sounds like she's giving you the run around already! Think these girls are turning out to be a little more stubborn! Hopefully she makes her appearance soon, sounds like it's definitely time she made her appearance for you. Hope the monitoring all goes ok, good they are keeping an eye on you.

@Leok83 thank you - midwife did try to reassure me of similar and that it's probably nothing but they just wanted to double check which I suppose is good but definitely a worry! She thinks it's just how I'm carrying and it's more noticeable because I was slim (ish) before and quite tall. I feel huge because I'm pretty much all bump so was definitely a shock when she said I'm measuring small! Hope you're still getting on well!

@Fizzl Ahhh glad to hear she is all good.
Mine is also not the biggest... around 35th centile but as long as they stay that way it is ok.
(Although now that she has all this extra time in she might be a big potato 😄)

And yes from this thread looks like the girls like to make us wait... !!!

Thanks for all the lovely messages ladies! Rosa is doing well, 6 days old today and has started to put back on the weight she’d lost on day 3. Breastfeeding seems to be going well, she just doesn’t like to be put down ever so me and my husband are doing shifts during the night! I’ll feed her and then he takes her and she sleeps on him for 3 hours and then we swap. Safe to say we’re both shattered 🥱 but she’s 1000% worth it ❤️
@Fizzl glad all was well at your scan- these things do cause so much worry!

I am still pregnant. 41 weeks tomorrow.
At my sweep yesterday she said i am a good 2cm she could easily place 2 fingers and i barely felt anything, and cervix has moved central and shortened further but still not having a single contraction.
She did the sweep, lots of mucus plug and bloody show but nothing happening...
Still no contraction, no nothing just me... ginormous. And hungry. All the damn time!

She said next week they will admit me and break my water and solve this... i have a private midwife for the birth as well (they mow each other and work together) so they have to decide between themselves the date and i will know by Monday latest.

@SunnySideUp2020 darling you'll be having that baby this weekend 🙏 I'm sending positive labour thoughts in your direction and out into the universe. Get bouncing and eat eat eat, that always seemed to proceed my labours starting. You are so close now, but my god it does drag the last few days, your doing so well, it's nearly time ❤️

These last days have really brought me down

I was hyped up and so excited and happy and prepared and now feeling a bit deflated. Almost thinking it's never happening.

@SunnySideUp2020 yes! You think 'I will be the first woman who is pregnant FOREVER. There will be stories written about me, people will pay to see it, I will become the 7th wonder of the world?' 😉

Just keep saying 'in 24 hours I will be a mum and won't be the size of a whale any more, and I will be able to sleep on my back again!'

It will be true

Maybe not the next 24 hours but keep saying it and it will come true very soon 💜

But obviously your having your little girl on Sunday 🙏

It may be against the grain but at this stage a medium glass of red wine won't do any harm either...

(But if you get heart burn it wasn't my idea 😉)

Hahaha @ChampooPapi the heartburn and digestive problems overall are a thing these days. So i am not going there... miserable enough as it is. 😂

Will start telling myself in 24hrs. As you say, it will eventually happen!!

Ahhh @SunnySideUp2020 she must be so comfy in there!! Im sure you're really fed up now but it won't be long! It just feels really long at the time I know. The heartburn at the end is hideous too but it will fade so quick once she is out. Thinking of you! I bet you just can't wait to meet her.
@scrumdiddly123 sounds like you and Rosa are doing really well, thats so great to hear! At least she is sleeping for 3 hour stints, even if only on you!! How have your other kids settled?

Thanks @Whiffle77 and @Annny27, I've been feeling very sorry for myself about my advancing age. I'm currently watching the antiques roadshow and eating chocolate cake, drinking earl grey, so the transformation from carefree young wild cat to slipper wearing o.a.p is complete 😆

Looks like it will either be tomorrow or my induction tuesday.
The contractions have been exhausting all day and now just stopped 🤷🏻‍♀️
