Hi Ladies, loving that we have e Pugh success stories and chat for part 5!

@Leok83 I'm jealous! We have so many beautiful newborn things that just won't fit! Upto 1 month just fit nicely, but don't think she'll be in those long.

We've been having problems with weight gain. She's had reflux symptoms, but we think I have fast let down. After discussing with my friend who is a peer supporter, I tried laid back feeding all last night and all today and she seems much better. Weigh in again tomorrow morning, so hoping she will have gained again.

@Whiffle77 I missed your post from last week- sorry you’ve been struggling but well done for speaking up about it! This has been such a Strange year, definitely think that the arrival of spring and easing of measures will help lift a lot of people’s mood.
@SunnySideUp2020 no sign of anything happening here either- just a few period pains in the evening but nothing major! Feeling a bit nervous about my induction and hoping it’s not really drawn out 😒 wish I was being left to go naturally really.

You never know @scrumdiddly123, I had light period type pains for a few weeks before and just before I would wake in the night with the pains but thought it was a dream but I really think it was Jude getting ready to come out. I had them the morning I went into labour and I just knew that was what it was. So strange looking back.

Fingers crossed you go soon or the induction works quickly for you. 🤞🏻. Either way you'll have your beautiful baby in your arms very soon. X

I have some good movements so not overly worried but i don't think she is coming anytime soon

@SunnySideUp2020 sweep was good! She said it was the easiest one she’d ever done in her life and she’s been a midwife for 21 years! I’m 1cm dilated but everything else was very favourable so she’s sure baby won’t be long 😊 even if it doesn’t start before induction on Friday at least I know things are moving in the right direction!
Sounds like your little lady is very comfortable in there! Hopefully she won’t keep you waiting too long x

Hope you are all well!

I had my 12 week scan today and all was quite positive! Baby looks good and has a heartbeat so that's good. The only thing they mentioned was that the skull wasn't yet fully formed over the brain so I have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan to check it has. Although she said this is "normal" for 12 weeks I can't help but think of the worse and unfortunately I have been worrying about this all day now and google has not helped! I don't know why I google things!

Did any of you ladies have this?

Are you planning on having the nipt? Have they say more about it?

Is the nipt the blood test checking the risks of the syndromes? I had the blood test and measurement of fluid today so hoping that all comes out okay @SunnySideUp2020

Yes the nipt is a blood test looking at dna so different than the combined screening offered by nhs. It's more precise. But only tests for a few issues.

Please stay away from google. 2 weeks will be an awful long time to wait but you have to try and stay positive and trust what the sonographer said. I am sure if it was a red flag you would have been referred to fetal medicine or something similar?

Are you dates matching lmp?

@SunnySideUp2020 I know I need to stay off google but it's so hard. I really hope the sonographer was being truthful and not keeping things from us to stop me worrying (it hasn't worked haha) she said the brain looks good and all other things look good it's just the skull isn't fully formed yet. Only some of it, she said it's normal for 12 weeks but then I doubted it as I thought if it's normal why don't all woman have to go back for a 14 week scan ?
I hope so bad this is going to be our happy healthy 🌈 but can't help worrying :/

Hi @Nuggetlover27! Great to have you here! Sorry I’ve got no experience of the skull not being formed at 12 weeks- I can imagine that being a worry! But it sounds reassuring that they said it was normal- surely they wouldn’t tell you that if it wasn’t true. Hope the next two weeks pass quickly and the scan shows everything looking great xx

@Nuggetlover27 could you maybe phone the midwife and ask her for her opinion too?

Hopefully everything will be ok with screening and in two weeks everything will be as it should🤞 x

Well went for monitoring today. Baby is doing well but my uterus is completely asleep and chilling.
Midwife thinks i will go overdue and tuesday i am back for monitoring and she will give it a good nudge/sweep she said.

@Nuggetlover27 welcome!! Sorry I've no advice on the skull either but I'd imagine they'd have discussed it a bit more with you if they were concerned and wouldn't have said it was normal. I'd prob give them a call back too if you are worried as google is a scary place when you are concerned about things. Hopefully everything will be good on the 2 week scan, which I know prob feels like a lifetime at that stage of pregnancy tho.

I've developed mastitis in one of my breasts as my little man has decided he only likes one side and left me engorged on the other. He's also developed a rash all over his forehead although it's not affected him and he's up a pound since birth so other than that flying it. Im on antibiotics and painkillers now and I'm really questioning wether or not to continue with the BF once the mastitis starts to clear between the mastitis and this rash which i was convinced was from me eating dairy (from google of course!) but apparently the rash is normal according the the PHN it's got me questioning is Bf all it's cracked up to be!

@Leok83 The question is, are you enjoying it?
If yes maybe give it a few more weeks?
But otherwise i would just switch to formula tbh.
I have heard how BF can be challenging and I think there definitely comes a time if you don't feel like it's working you should just give up instead of dreading it.
