@MilsCookie thanks, ya I have definitely considered reflux alright and started him on baby gaviscon. I'm not sure it's doing a huge pile though! This morning he was so upset about being breast fed I gave up and DH gave a bottle and he was fine then. Rest of the afternoon he has been ok being BF though so hard to know what it is!! Have 6 week GP appointment soon anyways so will mention it to her then. Occasionally he can be relaxed after a feed and it's so lovely then I wish he was always like that 😄

@SunnySideUp2020 don't feel useless at all about topping up. I had to give Keelan top ups aswell for the first week or 2 as he was just getting nothing from me and was jaundiced. I now have plenty of milk for him and other than the 1 bottle my DH does a day to give me a break he's on breast milk only (will prob reduce breast feeds soon now anyways and move to bottle) so give yourself time and your milk will come and if not honestly just as long as she's fed and happy that's all that matters! You've been through so much and you need to heal and recover to be able to look after Amelia, be that with bottle or breast!! Hopefully the bladder will recover too, sorry not much advice on that front as that's one benefit of section I suppose..came out with that bit intact😄 And she's a gorgeous little burrito 😊

Leok83 · 15/04/2021 18:14

We are home! We were discharged before the weekend can't even remember the day! It's been crazy! Unpacking everything getting all set up since we didnt really have time when my waters broke it was immediately intense 😅 so all was a bit left from that night...

But here we are settled, Amelia is an amazing baby, lets us sleep at night mostly. Last night slept 1am to this morning i woke her at 8am because my boobs were overflowing!!

The milk has really come in now and it leaks everywhere! She is gaining weight and overall happy.
I am exhausted at the end of the day as she feeds on demand and it can last 4 hours on and off...

The babies are beautiful ladies!!! 😍😍 love all the new pictures 😇

Whiffle77 · 20/04/2021 09:24

Awww so great that you are home @SunnySideUp2020 and great that you have been managing to get some sleep!

I had the same with the relentless feeding, it is really hard. It does get better though. Are you still doing formula top ups?

Hope everything is still going well!

Mosshead348 · 20/04/2021 15:07

Hi ladies Flowers hope I’m ok to join this group. I’m currently around 5/6 weeks with a pregnancy straight after miscarriage. I’m SO confused about how to date this...can you ladies help? Luckily getting an early scan this week xxx

SunnySideUp2020 · 20/04/2021 16:02

@Whiffle77 no formula anymore as i have a lot of milk, oveeflow.. expressing in the morning when she sleeps so my boobs dont explode.
Doctor said we need to keep an eye on weight gain to see if we should wake her up during the night to feed.
And not allow her more than 6 hours without one. This morning had to wake her at 8am again.

She is back to birth weight now.

Today she had decent naps so we ll see how the night goes. 🤞

BecsterG · 22/04/2021 20:48

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA, it was hectic at the beginning of the month and I just kept forgetting to come on and catch up.

How are you all?

@SunnySideUp2020 OMG what a story!! Congratulations, Amelia is beautiful. So pleased you're both home now and doing well. What an awful ordeal you went through. Sounds really scary. Enjoy being home as a new family.

Can't believe we are almost into May. Time is flying by. Jude is 7 months at the weekend! Madness x

Ladies i need your help!

Amelia seems to be suffering from gas. She looks in pain and last night has been moaning all night and only really sleeps deeply after passing the gas.
I don't know how to help her 😔
I burp her after the feed but it s hard to watch her in pain. I can see the stomach is hard and bloated at the end of the day too.

Any advice? 🙏

SunnySideUp2020 · 25/04/2021 06:21

She is exclusively breastfed and putting on weight nicely...

Leok83 · 28/04/2021 12:04

@SunnySideUp2020 how's she getting on now? I tend to burp a few times during feed too as Keelan is very gassy too. I also tried infacol which definitely helps get the wind up easier. He's getting it up well himself now since he hit 6 weeks though. It's horrible watching them like that, hope it's settled a bit since you posted!

SunnySideUp2020 · 28/04/2021 14:34

@Leok83
Well it's on and off... happens at night. Last night she moaned all night again :/
We went to the doc on tuesday and she prescribed us infacol.
But do you give it after every single feed???

Leok83 · 28/04/2021 15:47

@SunnySideUp2020 ya I was giving 1 pipette before each feed, then started to forget it and he was burping himself anyways so haven't given it much in couple weeks, only when I find him extra windy. He does grunt and kick a lot at night still but I've been told it's all normal. I had tried baby gaviscon after the infacol then and he seemed to settle, stopped it all and he was still good but last few days he's unsettled again so not sure if it's reflux or wind or a developmental leap! They always keep us guessing!

Whiffle77 · 01/05/2021 08:52

How is Amelia doing now @SunnySideUp2020? I think a lot of the noise at night is because their digestive system is so immature! DS used to be so noisy, and then one day he just wasn't any more. I never realised how much noise a baby was going to make whilst sleeping!!

How is everyone else getting on?

SunnySideUp2020 · 04/05/2021 09:36

@Whiffle77

I thought she was better but it's on and off tbh.
Some nights she doesnt sleep at all from the pain some are better. And she has started to become more agitated at night and sometimes fussy in the day not taking naps! She is being a little madam 🙄😄
We are now giving her infacol regularly and some probiotics drops too. Let's see...

But i also think she is a noisy sleeper like yours!!

SunnySideUp2020 · 04/05/2021 09:37

How is everyone?
@Nuggetlover27 and @Fizzl how are you getting on?

Fizzl · 04/05/2021 21:29

@SunnySideUp2020 sounds like you're being out through your paces! How's your recovery going?

I'm still doing really well thanks. 33 weeks this week and I have no idea how that's happened! It's going so quick and the reality that this baby is coming out one way or another is starting to hit me now! My big worry about the birth is not being able to have an epidural because of my blood thinners. I need to have no taken any for 12hrs prior to the epidural and I'm worried that I'll go into labour really quick and be in agonising pain for 12hrs! I'm not set on having an epidural I just don't like the fact it might not be an option (my control freak side coming out I think!) and if I needed a c-section it would be under general 😔.

Otherwise all going great - apart from my house being torn apart from next week. God knows what we're thinking 😬.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

SunnySideUp2020 · 05/05/2021 10:44

Ahh so happy for you! You are going to meet your little girl soon 😊😊
I can't wait for you to finally get your rainbow 💗
I totally get your point about having the option for epidural i was the same... really wanted to have the choice. And tbh i think epidural is what made my labor/birth such a nice experience. Because to me personally contractions are unbearable and not worth it 😐 but it depends so much on the person that it's hard to tell what you will need/want in advance.

Annnnd i know lots of ladies who had long labours so you might also get the chance to stop your meds on time 😊

In any case, you will be prepared (because control freak!) and i have everything crossed for you that your birth will be a lovely special moment ❤

But how are you still doing the house?! Where do you get the energy from?!!!
When is it supposed to be ready?
Have you started preparing a hospital bag?

Fizzl · 05/05/2021 22:24

Ah thanks @SunnySideUp2020! I'm really hoping I get a nice warning sign that labour is going to start so I stop taking my blood thinners in plenty of time. That's best case scenario anyway 😂.

Energy wise I'm still doing ok! I really thought it would have all caught up with me by now but I'm still keeping active and generally feeling really well. I don't want to jinx it though because I'm sure I'm going to hit a wall soon! 4 more weeks left at work too but still managing fine so far 🤞. Work on the house should be finished just before I reach 37 weeks so keeping my legs firmly crossed and hoping she doesn't make an early arrival 😬. Anytime from 38 weeks onwards would be perfect!

Hospital bags are mostly packed and ready to go - just a few more bits to add that I've ordered so that's one less thing to worry about for now. Still don't think it's sunk in yet that in a few weeks there will be a baby here with us 🙈

Leok83 · 06/05/2021 22:58

@Fizzl can't believe you are at 33 weeks now! So exciting you've only a few weeks left! And there's a very good chance you'll have the 12 hours to stop the meds..it seems most first time pregnancies take that but longer. It's good that your not feeling too tired yet..the discomforts of the 3rd trimester haven't hit yet??

@SunnySideUp2020 hope Amelias doing better..I think the ups and downs seem to be very normal..some days I'm smiling to myself that I'm smashing this parenting only to be despairingly looking at my little man bawling and battling sleeping anywhere other than on me a few hours later😄 I was so bad for the first month trying to analyse every cry but I've just decided every days going to be different now and to try go with the flow but it's bloody tough when the poor little things look like they are so upset and you feel so helpless!!

Fizzl · 08/05/2021 09:28

@Leok83 neither can I! So strange to think we're at the final hurdle now and a baby will be here soon. Still hasn't sunk in yet I don't think 😂🙈 I'm sure it will once we're in the depths of sleepless nights. I've not been too uncomfortable - my pelvis really started to give me jip earlier on in my pregnancy but acupuncture and physio seems to have kept that really at bay which has been amazing. The top of my back started to ache these past two nights but I think that's because I've been sat on my gym ball for too long whilst I've been working - it's been amazing for my pelvis but think it's taking it's toll on my back now. Other than that I've been so lucky so far! My bump is definitely starting to reach the size of a planet stage now though so I expect I'll start to feel more uncomfortable soon 😬

ChampooPapi · 17/05/2021 08:53

How is everyone?! I've started work but I have applied to do a nursing degree in September 😬. Started work and though, gosh life is to short for this, got to follow the dream so to speak. Everything ok with my lot, hope all ok with you pregnant ladies and all the new babies were thriving 💜🌈

scrumdiddly123 · 17/05/2021 09:41

Morning @ChampooPapi, wow that’s exciting! Good for you! What do you do for work at the moment? All good here thanks, Rosa is 6 weeks now and feeling like we’re getting into a good place with breastfeeding and sleeping- she’ll go down for a 4 hour stint now which is amazing and means I can function almost normally 😆
Trying to just enjoy every day with her as time is whizzing as it always seems to!
