I have bought a couple of outfits that's it. I figure 3 months to go is loads of time really as there are no branded items that I feel attached to so can get other things if there are stock issues from the Suez Canal disaster!

Sorry to hear about the worry of the fluid sweet pea. No idea what it means but I know I'd be concerned too it's only natural.

PeanutButterFalcon · 09/04/2021 06:46

@Sweetpea12 hope everything goes well today x

Thank you everyone Flowers

Panic for nothing I went to hospital and baby was scanned and he was all good with normal fluid level. The doctor said it’s been my bowel that caused the bigger stomach so basically just bloating 🙈 but I’m glad the midwife was so attentive as could have been something else. Phew! Smile

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 09/04/2021 21:02

Brilliant news @Sweetpea12!

Mummy2O · 09/04/2021 21:23

Glad to hear that @Sweetpea12.

MilkshakeandChips5 · 10/04/2021 08:04

Super good news @Sweetpea12 - must have been a stressful few hours!

Has anyone managed to figure out a pattern of movement? I get stressed at least once a day that I can't feel kicks. I have an anterior placenta and it just doesn't fee consistent at all!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/04/2021 08:14

27+6 here, generally feel movement last thing at night and first thing in the morning while lay in bed. Also noticable here and there in the day again mainly when i am still.

Also have anterior placenta but DC6 so no stomach muscles

PurpleCurtain · 10/04/2021 08:20

@MilkshakeandChips5 Until a few days ago I had the same worries, but now he seems too move constantly, to the extent I cant work out when he sleeps (27w today and placenta isn't anterior). I do find that often, particularly late morning and early afternoon, I have to properly sit / lie down and relax in order to feel him, but recently I haven't been waiting more than 10 minutes for that. Definitely most active at night and early morning for me.

MilkshakeandChips5 · 10/04/2021 08:23

I also can't quite figure out the movements?! Sometimes it feels like a solid kick and is very clear, other times it's almost like a vibration that's a little weird. My midwife said to keep an eye on what's normal but I have zero idea what's normal.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 10/04/2021 08:31

I think when they say normal they mean normal for you, so no sudden changes

PurpleCurtain · 10/04/2021 09:20

I get a lot of different sensations. Sometimes full on kicks, sometimes strange scraping feelings, sometimes the feelings are like mini crunches (that's my best attempt at describing them!).

Sweetpea12 · 10/04/2021 09:39

My movements are a lot more regular now. usually I’ll notice if I’ve woke up during the night I can feel what is like a pulsing sometime and this morning what I’m sure is a kick or punch but I have anterior placenta so it feels quite faint to me. It’s fascinating! Will miss all the little feelings once he’s actually here so really enjoying them Smile

28 weeks!

Got a few bits for my hospital bag delivered on this weekends food shop so need to dig hold all out and chuck them in there!

I got .... breast pads, mat towels, size 1 nappies, baby vasaline stuff, mini shampoo conditioner and shower gel, lip balm, toothpaste and toothbrush. Its a start!

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 11/04/2021 12:34

I literally have nothing yet and will be 28 weeks this week @thatbasicsnowflake I think I need to start a list of what we need to buy!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 11/04/2021 13:04

A list would be a good start! Might end up being a list of lists though if your like me! Blush

PeanutButterFalcon · 11/04/2021 17:05

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE what do you need Vaseline for? Trying to get together everything we might need slowly

PurpleCurtain · 11/04/2021 18:17

@PeanutButterFalcon have heard stories of it being for first poos...

I've tried to get started on the basics too and have bought lots of cute nappies this week (ambitiously going reusable). Appreciating their cuteness now as I guess I won't be appreciating them once they're in use!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 11/04/2021 18:58

Vasaline has multiple uses! Good on babies bum to stop first poos from sticking to skin, also good on peely baby skin which is quite common

pinkgin8 · 11/04/2021 20:08

I went for my hd scan the other day. It was lovely 😊
Seems to be going so fast now!

Luckyelephant1 · 11/04/2021 23:12

I did a free online baby academy class this weekend run by a midwife- it was very basic but tbh is what I needed as a FTM. They said babies need little if any products at all for the first 6 weeks and won't need to be bathed until a week old, and no bathing products needed at all for the first 6 weeks just water and a washcloth/sponge. If dry skin then a bit of massage with coconut oil can help (although I'm sure I read somewhere else not to use coconut oil so I will read up a bit more on that). Best thing for nappy rash is air. That said I will get some vaseline, sudocrem etc in so it's there if really needed but I'm a bit more relaxed now and won't go mental buying lots of unnecessary baby toiletries!

LadySB89 · 11/04/2021 23:24

I've yet to buy anything.

What's everyone's thoughts on pram/Push chair, where is a good place to buy for a full travel system including car seat with isofix
