So exciting!!! I’m going to work as far upto my due date as I feel I’m able to- I’m working from home and only have an office job so it’s not physically tiring - just stressful sometimes.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE so lucky you’re off already!!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 09:36

Off but in my mum role full time lol! Those of you on first baby probably go home to calm and quiet! Grin

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 06/04/2021 09:59

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE to be fair I bet that’s more work than actual work hahaha!

Yeah lucky that when I’m done working - it’s just the dog to look after and he’s almost 9 now so no trouble!

PurpleCurtain · 06/04/2021 10:06

43 working days for me (am off this week). It can't come soon enough as I'm really not managing to finish on time, things are so busy and it seems having kids is the only acceptable reason to log off punctually! Definitely feeling like I'm being less proactive than I could be as part of me is very aware I won't be around for up to a year.

PeanutButterFalcon · 06/04/2021 10:06

I finish at 36 weeks! 10 weeks and counting. Honestly cannot wait. Also think I’m having a mild panic and have started freaking out about the state of the house and not having anything for the baby

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 10:22

Just remember all baby actually needs is food, clothing, nappies and somewhere safe with parent(s) ❤

Sweetpea12 · 06/04/2021 10:51

Finish in 11 weeks time and counting down the days, looking after 12 children in a day nursery ages 1-2 is not easy at times 😆
Being off for Easter has been absolute bliss I haven’t done a single thing I was meant to lol panicking about shops not being open as I still have no pram, car seat or next to me

Foxglovesandlilacs · 06/04/2021 12:30

Wow when you say how many weeks are left instead of how many you are it makes it seem so near!

I own a florist with my husband so will be working as long as I feel like it but will most likely be back at work ASAP after baby is born. I have lots of weddings booked this summer and I’m a perfectionist so I will be there whether it’s me doing the actual work or not!

PeanutButterFalcon · 06/04/2021 12:45

@Sweetpea12 it won’t be long and they will open. I’ve been waiting to go and physically look at things. Hopefully they have lots of stock

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 12:46

sweetpea are you still working in the room past 28 weeks?

Sweetpea12 · 06/04/2021 13:26

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE yeah one of my friends has the same job as me but in another branch and she was told by a midwife that the workplace has to decide it’s unsafe for us to be there. I’m considering leaving at 28 weeks but I think they will start my maternity leave as opposed to the suspension on full pay. There is no other job I could do in there that wouldn’t involve cleaning etc as my role is a nursery assistant usually

Sweetpea12 · 06/04/2021 13:27

@PeanutButterFalcon yeah that’s what I’m waiting for I have an idea of the pram I would like so it’s seeing it in person. Living in Northern Ireland I feel like the shops are never going to open. IMO a pram shop should have been considered essential

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 13:28

Have they done a risk assessment? Id ask for it to be redone for 28 weeks +

Sweetpea12 · 06/04/2021 14:47

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE only risk assessment I had was a basic one for the working conditions. I had been reading there is a separate covid related one so I’m going to ask about that. I feel like the decision will be mine then I’ll have to go and either my maternity start early or I’ll have to go out on the sick. Bit unfair when other close contact jobs are either furloughing their staff or they are able to work from home but that option isn’t there for a day nursery

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 14:52

There is a template letter here which is good

pregnantthenscrewed.com/covid-19/write-to-your-employer-risks-for-pregnant-women/

Sweetpea12 · 06/04/2021 15:29

Thank you for the template

pinkgin8 · 06/04/2021 18:30

Had my midwife appointment today. Heard my boys heartbeat which was great 😊

Ordered a prep machine and some more nappies today coming tomorrow.

Only things left too buy are a double pram, some more bottles as spares, boxes of wipes, baby towels, few more sleepsuits and body suits and baby wash! Baby milk in bulk buy nester the time but other than that I am then finished and it's all done.

Booked a 4d hd scan for this Saturday, will be lovely too see his face 💙
How is everyone getting on?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 18:35

@pinkgin8 was that your 28 week app? I have mine next week

Have you decided on a pram?

I already bought our double (using as a single atm) and carseat plus bottles and couple bits of clothes

Still have a prep from last baby which will hopefully still work lol

pinkgin8 · 06/04/2021 18:59

Nope my 26th week! Have to then go back again in two weeks and then regularly after that till he is born!

I'm thinking the Hauck duett 2 as I can't seem to find any others that don't cost a bomb!

I just ordered the white prep machine for £60, ( will get some filters as spare too )

pinkgin8 · 06/04/2021 19:00

Posted too soon
I ordered the £60, as didn't see the difference in the night and day one other than the beep at night is quieter 🤣 would rather save money

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 19:02

If you use amazon subscribe and save you can get filters slightly cheaper

You will have to let me know how you get on with the Hauck duett 2 as i did look at that one!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 19:03

Our prep is the cheaper one too and i love it

pinkgin8 · 06/04/2021 19:06

Oh okay! Didn't realise that! I might do that! Every bit helps!
Yeah I think that'll be the one I get. It looks really
good! I'll definitely let you know

pinkgin8 · 06/04/2021 19:08

I bought a changing bag the other day, gosh it's great and the price was so good! Lots of space and lovely design.

PeanutButterFalcon · 07/04/2021 10:19

@Sweetpea12 do you have any idea when they might open?

I’ve been using maternity action for advice with working and making sure I’m safe. Hopefully they can help you too.
