Immediately gave up on pregnacare as soon as I got to 12 weeks for this reason and have only been taking vit D (spray as I wasn't taking any chances with making myself sick having to keep swallowing tablets!) since.

Mummy2O · 03/04/2021 10:16

It is so odd. My body rejects them almost instantly. Of course I bought them on 3 for 2 so have loads still too, which is a waste. I am fine with the cheap folic acid and vitamin D pills.

I have just realised that there are only 3 more paydays until we have a new baby with us. Is anyone else having a mini panic about having everything ready? It's silly as this will be our second boy so we really already have most things anyway.

Flittingaboutagain · 03/04/2021 10:21

I gave up on pregnacare too for a while but now we're further along it seems to be fine again as long as I follow the instructions and take it after dinner.

Wow just 3 more paydays to go! We are getting as much as possible second hand but even without the money that thought really brings home how quickly time is flying!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 03/04/2021 11:27

We’re starting decorating the baby’s room after this weekend.....then hopefully getting the pram ordered once things open up! I feel like we still have loads to do/buy but it’s our first baby so we don’t have anything to start with.

3 months that’s crazy!!!!

Foxglovesandlilacs · 03/04/2021 14:05

3 months is ages! (It is going quickly though!)

Don’t worry it will all be fine, and it’s more fun getting everything nearer the end when you need something to distract you from feeling massive and uncomfortable!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 03/04/2021 15:07

@Foxglovesandlilacs yeah good point! I don’t want to get too much until the room is sorted as otherwise is all just piled up - at least once the room is done I can put things away and I’ll know what I’ve got and what I still need.

anyone else starting to get tired after a big walk and things now? Just got in from a 5k walk and I’m actually tired - having to have a sit down! X

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 03/04/2021 16:06

Honestly don't think i could walk 5k! I have to sit down after school run or nipping to the shop (half hour)

ElderMillennial · 03/04/2021 16:13

I can't really walk 5k due to PGP. I've done it but I'm in pain for days after so try to limit to 1-2 mile walks. I do find I get tired and need tears when I've been on my feet though.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 03/04/2021 16:21

I have PGP too @ElderMillennial although have not been as bad this time (i think due to lock down)

ElderMillennial · 03/04/2021 16:36

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I think my PGP hadn't been as bad either probably partly due to lockdown and generally trying to find a balance between staying active and not overdoing it. Working from home must be helping and I'm seeing a physio this time.

Luckyelephant1 · 03/04/2021 19:09

On tiredness, I went to lie down this afternoon for a 30 mins nap. Have just woken up 3 hours later 😬 I had so much to do this afternoon, oopsy

ElderMillennial · 03/04/2021 19:19

I haven't been sleeping in the day but I am currently in bed watching TV Blush

Luckyelephant1 · 03/04/2021 20:28

I normally never nap in the day as I feel yuck and groggy when I wake up but today I must have needed it!

With PGP I have it but quite mild I think. If I don't exercise for ages I actually feel worse, with more lower back pain and niggly groin pain etc. But going on a few short walks makes me ache in a different almost more pleasant way eg it feels like soreness after a workout. If I sleep properly with a pillow behind my back and between my legs this helps massively. Also some gentle yoga style stretching. This is not medical advice BTW, just what has worked for me!

Flittingaboutagain · 04/04/2021 10:26

I've been seeing a chiropractor for my PGP I get in the bum and it's really helping. Have started with the pubis pain at the front and thighs which doesn't seem to be helped as easily!

ElderMillennial · 04/04/2021 10:32

What does the chiropractor do that helps?

Flittingaboutagain · 04/04/2021 12:13

I found her online registered with the pelvic partnership and treating women with PGP is her speciality. She does manual corrections and manipulation of the joints that are twisting, acupuncture and massage. I really recommend it.

ElderMillennial · 04/04/2021 12:18

I might look into it @Flittingaboutagain. Thanks

I feel like I'm managing ok but after first baby it affected me for months afterwards (I want to say maybe a year afterwards!). I'd still get achey hips and joints on a long walk so I'm really trying to look after myself better this time.

FirstTimeMummy2021 · 04/04/2021 17:01

I also swear by a chiropractor! I had ongoing issues with my joints prior to falling pregnant but they work wonders on my pelvis. I also have seen a physio to help with some stretches.

With sleep, I'm starting to frequently wake over night which is leaving me tired the next day. Hopefully I'll adjust to this quick.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 05/04/2021 10:09

@FirstTimeMummy2021 I’m the same - I wake a few times a night - not even for anything like I don’t need a wee or anything I just wake up! I’ve always been a great sleeper before being pregnant so it must have something to do with it!
I keep thinking I need to make the most of my sleep now before the baby comes but my body has other ideas haha!

MilkshakeandChips5 · 06/04/2021 08:05

Is anyone else finding it really hard to have any energy or interest in work? I literally counted the number of working days I have left this morning! I have zero motivation.

Flittingaboutagain · 06/04/2021 08:42

Yes! I have a whiteboard calendar counting down to when I finish.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 06/04/2021 08:46

When are people finishing?

I'm off already, combination of furlough and annual leave then mat leave

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 06/04/2021 09:05

@MilkshakeandChips5 just thinking that as I’m logging on! Haha! How many working days do you have left?

So tired today - kept waking up again last night - and woken up with a cold sore :( so feeling very sorry for myself over here!

MilkshakeandChips5 · 06/04/2021 09:20

@TiredAlreadyOhDear 41 working days left! I'm finishing in June 9th and have 4 weeks holiday before starting mat leave on July 7th. I CANNOT WAIT. I have quite a challenging job and used to easily work 10-12 hours but currently scraping through and finishing on time (with a nap thrown in).

MilkshakeandChips5 · 06/04/2021 09:20

On the plus side for us all, at least we have April/May bank holidays to make time go a little quicker!
