@ElderMillennial Thanks so much for your reply! Your experience sounds very similar to mine so that has put my mind at rest a little xx

ElderMillennial · 21/02/2021 14:58

No problem @LouLikesLollies xx

babyt2020 · 21/02/2021 15:20

Hi all please could I be added? I'm due 12th of July with baby 2, our son is 1 on the 15th of June! Eek! We had no idea until I was 18 weeks as I'm on the mini pill and put my weight gain down to medication.

Our son was 10 days late and 10lbs 5ozs, had a very traumatic birth, 15 hours of induced labour followed by a cat 1 section and a nicu stay so it's an elective section for me this time, thank god!!

Is anyone suffering with dizziness? I've had it terrible for 3 days and have been pretty much lying down, luckily my partner and mum are fantastic and been looking after our boy, midwife thinks it may be iron deficiency, I'm just worried as I've had no prenatal care yet or taken vitamins etc as we didn't know!

@LouLikesLollies

Hi everyone just after a little advice/reassurance! Have been very anxious this pregnancy after a MMC a couple of years ago but have managed to keep it at bay recently. Until today! I’m a FTM and am 20+5. Have been feeling movements for a few weeks now and they have definitely become more frequent and stronger over the last week or so. However, I realised I haven’t felt anything over the last 2 days. I know it’s important to be aware of reduced movement further on in the pregnancy. Is it too early to be worrying about this now? Has anyone else experienced this?
@LouLikesLollies, this is exactly me right now! This is my first pregnancy so I can't reassure and say it's normal but can say that it's not just you! On Friday eve I felt lots of movements and pretty definite kicks (and had also felt movements for at least a week and a half before that); since then I haven't had anything that I've noticed. I'm trying not to worry given most books etc seem to say you won't feel consistent movements until 24 weeks/ before then they may just be so small that when they are in particular positions we just won't feel them - but also interested in any advice others may have! If I haven't felt him by the morning I will give the midwife a text just to see what she says.
BananaCustard85 · 21/02/2021 16:11

@PurpleCurtain @LouLikesLollies hi! I'm 20+3 now. I've been feeling movements from about 17 wks. It does seem like some days the baby is kicking away all day, and other days I barely feel them. I don't like the days I can't feel them! It's disconcerting, but I've asked a couple of friends who had babies recently and they said the movements were inconsistent at first too. Does make sense that they are harder to feel in some positions than others. But I'm looking forward to being able to feel them more consistently! So it's not just you guys experiencing this (it's at least one other pregnant lady haha...) 🙂

BananaCustard85 · 21/02/2021 16:14

@babyt2020 Eek! Was it a shock finding out you were 18wks? Hope all goes well with your pregnancy 🙂

BewareThePenguins · 21/02/2021 16:30

@Fartymcfart
I have a slightly bigger gap than you, mine will be 16, 14 and 12 when the baby arrives! And yes, I am really scared. I have no idea how i am going to go back to sleepless nights and nappies! This is my partners first child. I also feel like I have a lot less energy than when I was in my early 20's having the first 3.
My 3rd was a planned home birth and I'm hoping to have the same again or a water birth if I have to go into hospital. My other 3 were all late so I'm expecting this one in early August!

grace1989x · 21/02/2021 18:15

@notalwaysalondoner I hope it's not a sign of bad sleeping too, I've not bought a pregnancy pillow yet.

Oh with classes can't you watch the recordings in the morning, I try do a YouTube 15 minute pregnancy workout every other morning.

grace1989x · 21/02/2021 18:17

@BewareThePenguins of penguins it sounds like you'll have plenty of help with your older kids, wishing you all the best. I can't wait till I can send my two year old to fetch stuff lol

tobeornottobe1 · 21/02/2021 20:19

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Happy to see we are all nearly half way! Time is going so fast. I wondered if anybody had experience the same as me, when I yawn deeply I feel a ripping and a pop in my stomach, I'm guessing this is my
Non existent tummy muscles? Has anyone else has this? Thanks x

babyt2020 · 21/02/2021 20:38

@BananaCustard85 omg YES! We did a positive test and we're in total shock! Because of 3 previous losses I was given clexane, prednisolone and cyclones when I fell pregnant with our boy so I rushed to contact recurrent miscarriage to get prescribed those drugs again but in the meantime I booked a private scan and saw another little boy waving his arms and legs!!! It was amazing we couldn't stop laughing! I'd been blaming my rounded tum on medication and getting really mad slimming world wasn't working!

Sooooo happy to have skipped all those meds and worry!!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 21/02/2021 20:42

Evening all

@babyt2020 glad you finally came to join us!

Welcome all new people! Will update the list in the morning as i am tired!

Has anyone made any pram decisions yet?

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 21/02/2021 21:37

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE still not made a decision pram wise! I’ve got a few in mind but going to wait until shops open up and I can get my hands on some to test the weight and ease of putting them up and down hahahaa! How about you?

Fartymcfart · 21/02/2021 22:02

@BewareThePenguins oh lovely, lots of helpers for you, glad you might be able to have a home birth.
I always liked mine at the hospital as didn't want to be reminded of it at home but can imagine it is a lovely experience to be surrounded by your own things. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I was late with my other 3, all 2 weeks late, only bonus of them not letting me go over my due date is, I know I'll have a baby at the end of July all being well 🤞

Have you told anyone yet? We have not told anyone as its much higher risk for me this time round and I'm petrified something will go wrong and cannot be bothered dealing with people if it does. (Even well meaning people). I so cannot be dealing with the comments, especially as I have 3 of the same sex, even the midwife at my booking in appointment was doing it "oh you'll be hoping for the other sex then" nope ill just take a healthy one please.
Though currently being kicked in the gut, which is reassuring.

Its going to be a big shock going back to sleepless night and nappies.

PeanutButterFalcon · 21/02/2021 22:49

Can anyone feel kicks in the back or am I going crazy? Have no idea if this is even possible or not

OP posts:
Flittingaboutagain · 22/02/2021 09:34

My friend is having kicks in the back too.

BananaCustard85 · 22/02/2021 09:37

Actually I thought I felt a kick in the back yesterday and then was like, naaa that's bonkers 🙂

Luckyelephant1 · 22/02/2021 11:18

I think I finally felt a few flutters of movement yesterday at 19+6! Almost like a few involuntary twitches here and there. Lower down than I was expecting! Scan tomorrow so feeling pretty nervous, hopefully everything is all good and then we can start to buy things, I've not allowed myself or family to buy a thing yet.

ElderMillennial · 22/02/2021 11:24

@tobeornottobe1 It could be diastasis recti or ab separation? I had it in my first pregnancy so it happened again quite quickly this time...

Luckyelephant1 · 22/02/2021 11:25

Oh also are there any questions definitely worth asking at 20 weeks other than the routine stuff I assume they will tell me about physical conditions, growth progress etc? So far my main question is where my placenta is.

Karinengland · 22/02/2021 15:04

Hi all,
May I be added please? 18+2 due 24 July, planning for home birth.
3rd baby. Two teenagers 16 & 14.

20 week scan 10th March and will hopefully find out gender.
First few months were rough! Gladly feeling better now and can feel movements. Feeling a little lonely/alone as OH can't feel them yet and seems not particularly involved in pregnancy. He has been super supportive when I've been unwell but lately not asking any questions etc about the baby...

PeanutButterFalcon · 22/02/2021 15:31

Glad I’m not alone and going crazy! I’ll ask at my scan if it’s likely too depending on the position of the baby.

@Luckyelephant1 I’ve been told they will inform us is anything is wrong so if they don’t say about specifics then it’s because they haven’t needed to. I did have a list of questions for my consultant and forgot them already, typically.

tobeornottobe1 · 22/02/2021 17:53

@ElderMillennial thank you I did think this. It's an awful feeling knowing my tummy will pop if I yawn. I might speak to a physio or someone specialising in this area to see if there's anything I can do, I am only 19 weeks pregnant but it is #4

notalwaysalondoner · 23/02/2021 10:10

@tobeornottobe1 there is definitely physio that can help, although most I have read about is for after the birth but I'm sure there's exercises you can do to prevent it too.

@Fartymcfart I didn't tell anyone except my parents and in-laws until 14 weeks after my scan as I've had two miscarriages previously. Even now I keep thinking 'what if my 20 week scan has bad news and I have to inform everyone'. I still haven't told work either, as I WFH and don't need any adjustments and haven't felt ill or too tired, planning to probably leave that until at least 22 weeks I think.

I have the same question as @Luckyelephant1 - my 20 week scan is tomorrow, are there any specific questions I should ask?

ElderMillennial · 23/02/2021 11:43

@tobeornottobe1 I speak to a physio. I got a referral very quickly actually possibly because it's only video appointments. It's mainly for my PGP but I have spoken to her about other things too like my abs separation and restless legs.
