It’s a little early but thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us due babies in October.

I’m due DC2 on the 9th (according to online calculator) and only found out yesterday.

Anyone want to join?!

@Blessedbutstressed96 so exciting! Must be such a relief to have had a good scan!

birdbybird · 03/02/2021 10:59

@Nineteen88 and@Emmalouise11
My first post on this thread. Tomorrow I think will be 3 weeks from ovulation and I’ve also got a light beige tinge in the discharge. Very light. I had a chemical pregnancy last month so am a bit worried.
I’m more worried about it being a potential ectopic. Although I’ve not had any cramps.

seaswim33 · 03/02/2021 11:00

@Blessedbutstressed96 Congrats! How far along are you? Was it a private scan? I have an NHS scan booked at 6+2 and my partner can't come. I was wondering if I'd get a picture.

brokenheart013 · 03/02/2021 11:05

Congratulations @Blessedbutstressed96 ,yaay it is so exciting.lt becomes so real. Now l'm tempted to get an early scan too

Blessedbutstressed96 · 03/02/2021 11:06

@TheFamousMrEd Thankyou so much, definitely such a relief!

@seaswim33 I’m 6+1 , it was a scan with the nhs. We’re in a tier 4 lockdown area and my partner was there with me so I’d double check maybe they can come? The woman who done the scan was really nice and asked if we wanted a picture , so if they don’t ask just make sure to mention you’d like one

seaswim33 · 03/02/2021 11:12

@Blessedbutstressed96 good to know thanks. I'll ask for a picture. They are really strict at my hospital, my previous scan they said over the phone that he could come into the hospital but wait outside the room but then they wouldn't even let him in the hospital... he will also be working and hasn't told work yet so it is difficult. I wish he could be there.

Blessedbutstressed96 · 03/02/2021 11:20

Yeh definitely ask as it’s something you’ll want to have captured for sure ❀️ that’s awful you’re having to go on your own. I don’t think it’s fair partners are excluded I understand the severity of Covid but it’s 2 people from the same household shouldn’t really carry any greater risk I’d say

PumpkinEverything · 03/02/2021 11:28

That’s so lovely to see @Blessedbutstressed96 😁 must have made your day and getting the picture!

PumpkinEverything · 03/02/2021 11:29

Welcome @Nineteen88 😁 it must be killing you keeping that secret! I’d be bursting too πŸ˜‚ I’ve taken 3 tests and this was mine this morning at 16 DPO

birdbybird · 03/02/2021 11:30

@Blessedbutstressed96 did you need to get a referral from the GP for the early scan?

Blessedbutstressed96 · 03/02/2021 11:50

@birdbybird you can but usually you can self refer at your local early pregnancy unit. I got mine because I’d phoned nhs 24 two weeks ago concerned about my cramps, they then sent me to a&e who done bloods and booked me the scan for today as when I was there at the time they wouldn’t really of seen anything in the scan

Spillanelle · 03/02/2021 11:50

@Blessedbutstressed96, lovely scan photo! Must have been very reassuring to see baby and know there is a strong heartbeat.

Spillanelle · 03/02/2021 11:52

I’m using the Ovia app too, the bump also do really good weekly updates (think it’s just on their website though rather than an app). It’s lovely seeing the weekly development, I currently have a poppy seed apparently! Can’t believe something so tiny is making me feel this exhausted.

Blessedbutstressed96 · 03/02/2021 11:59

@Spillanelle thanks so much. It’s was such a relief to see. I’m very much on cloud 9 today we’ve been trying for a long time so this has been amazing. Can’t wait for the next 6 weeks to go by so I can tell my son

Spillanelle · 03/02/2021 12:07

Yeah, that will be lovely. How old is your son? @Blessedbutstressed96

Told my 19 month old that she’s going to be a big sister, but she obviously has no clue what I’m going on about and just asked for a snack πŸ˜‚

Blessedbutstressed96 · 03/02/2021 12:24

@Spillanelle he’s 4 be 5 by time babies here. I’ve mentioned and asked how he’d feel if he ever got a baby brother/sister and he was really excited about the idea. Going to tell him in March at the 12 week scan because if I show him that one he’ll just say that’s not a babyπŸ˜‚πŸ€

Tilly0756 · 03/02/2021 12:36

@Blessedbutstressed96 yay! Love the scan photo, amazing they gave you one, need to remember to ask for one :)

angc30 · 03/02/2021 14:16

@Blessedbutstressed96 congratulations! Love the scan photo!!! I'm afraid to book a scan out of superstition but you've convinced me to actually push the button and book it

@PumpkinEverything such a dark nice line!

PumpkinEverything · 03/02/2021 14:28

Just hoping everything is okay @angc30 ! When are you going to book your scan for?

Blessedbutstressed96 · 03/02/2021 15:03

@Tilly0756 thankyou! Yeh definitely ask so you’ve got it to keep❀️

@angc30 yeh you should the wait for your 12 week scan can be awful and leave you feeling more stressed. I feel much more at ease and I’m now much more looking forward to everything

Nineteen88 · 03/02/2021 15:24

@PumpkinEverything honestly it’s so hard to contain! πŸ˜‚ can I ask which pregnancy test you used please? Xx

PumpkinEverything · 03/02/2021 15:29

Ha I know @Nineteen88 I found out before I had a work call at 9 and I didn’t want to tell my husband and then have to leave a few mins later, so even that hour was too long for me 😳

Mine are the easy @ home ones that came with my ovulation tests. I also have a first respond early result to use and I’m saving my clear blue digital that tells you how many weeks until maybe next week πŸ˜‚

Nineteen88 · 03/02/2021 15:31

@birdbybird oh wow interesting! You are literally in the exact situation as myself as I did too! I’m actually a Nurse (lol!!) but still feel like I want to ask everyone so many questions! But I sneakily grabbed the midwifes at work today and asked. They said obviously you can never rule out β€˜you know what’ BUT it’s fresh blood they are more concerned with. And being a nurse this makes sense to me. So when doing smears sometimes I still see old brown mucus blood from previous period. So I’m wondering- because a chemical pregnancy can cause heavier bleeding than normal- with all the changes happening now- is discharge bringing with it old blood? The midwifes agreed with my thought process and said this absolutely could be the case.

So that helped me! I hope it helps you too. But they did say still have to monitor and go to an early pregnancy unit if gets worse etc xx

birdbybird · 03/02/2021 16:49

@Nineteen88 thanks for the reply and good to know! To my make my situation more complicated, I’m still breastfeeding my almost 14 month old. So I wonder if that could also be causing the hormonal changes resulting in the beige tinged discharge.

Peachesavent · 03/02/2021 16:55

Hi girls! Congratulations on your October bambino’s, I also got a positive this morning after noticing my period was late for a few days!! This is our first and I’m not sure it’s sunk in yet hahaha as we had been trying for some time! According to my Flo app I am 6 weeks on Friday... I called the docs and they said I’ll get a letter from the midwife re an appointment , is this normal? Sorry I am new to all of this and not going to tell my friends until we’ve had the scan! Also did I see mention of a FB group? Smile Xxx
