It’s a little early but thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us due babies in October.

I’m due DC2 on the 9th (according to online calculator) and only found out yesterday.

Anyone want to join?!

So I've spent the last 24hrs freaking out about my lack of progression on tests :(

I've attached a pic so if you're interested you can see. Please tell me if I'm being totally neurotic (I know I am. I've never been like this before!) I'm only 4+1 so super early. My sensible head knows there is nothing I can do either way and I need to calm down. And it's so hard to keep busy in lockdown :(

@Katie1109 I’m six weeks and only symptoms are: Very tired, sore boobs, cramps here and there and constipation on and off but that’s it! Lack of concentration I guess too but I think that’s because my mind keeps wandering!

SRyellow · 02/02/2021 12:40

@Moonstone12 I think your lines do look like they are slowly getting darker, give it a couple of days, mine also got darker in the evening which I found strange!

Optimistic2021 · 02/02/2021 12:42

I did another test the same night after finding out I was pregnant and it came back negative πŸ™ˆ did another one the next morning and positive again thankfully but scared to do anymore incase I've imagined it all even though I have pictures etc! I feel like lockdown is just making me stress/worry about what could go wrong more than I normally probably would!

We've told our parents and I told my close friend today too but nobody else. If anything was to go wrong I would tell them anyway and just couldn't keep it to myself until 12 weeks πŸ˜‚ I'm the most impatient person ever!

Optimistic2021 · 02/02/2021 12:46

@Moonstone12 I got a positive with fmu and tested again at night to make sure and it came back negative and then got a positive the next again morning. I was about 4 weeks at that point too. I think it's maybe because the hcg levels are still quite low early on, would try not to worry as it may take a few weeks to increase etc 😊

gln1989 · 02/02/2021 12:53

@PumpkinEverything

It is my mums birthday this sunday and i would love to tell her but i am just so worried about something going wrong so we have said we will wait another 2-3 weeks as it is still very very early.

On the plus side OH is now excited and already looking at names, he was very shocked when i told him even though it was planned. We were supposed to be getting married this year in Croatia so with that no longer going ahead it gives us something else to be excited about.

PumpkinEverything · 02/02/2021 13:27

Aw that’s a lovely alternative to the wedding at least @gln1989 😊 are you doing something else or have you postponed?
I’m on the fence about when to tell people. I think I might try and book a scan in for 6/6-5 weeks and then tell the people I’ve said I would then. It’s just so crazy that that’s not really that far away, but it feels like months to me πŸ˜‚

PumpkinEverything · 02/02/2021 13:29

Don’t be worrying too much @Moonstone12 as you know, it’s still very early so they aren’t going to be super dark just yet! Our levels double every 48 hours so they may not look so different day on day. Maybe try every 2 days instead? And also maybe don’t keep the tests in the bathroom so you don’t get tempted? I’ve had to do that or else I’d do one everytime πŸ˜‚ especially as I have about 20 of the easy @ home cheapies so it’s not like I’m running out!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 02/02/2021 13:38

@Moonstone12 I know it’s hard but try not to compare too much, after a while the tests can change anyway, that’s why they tell you look within a certain timeframe.
So like the one from 3 days ago could’ve just gotten darker over time if you see what I mean?

Spillanelle · 02/02/2021 13:39

@Moonstone12 that looks fine, I didn’t even get a positive with DD until nearly 5 weeks, I think we all just have different levels and it depends on how hydrated you are, times of day, etc.

A positive is a positive, I wouldn’t overthink the colour of the line.

summerhillgang · 02/02/2021 13:44

I've just told my Mum and my two besties, plus obv their partners, my partner has told his parents and brother. It's their first grandchild. I think that's prob overkill but it's such a crappy time that hopefully it can offer a little cheer.

Feeling proper wiped out today! And my back is hurting. I tried doing a bit of yin yoga this morning, perhaps I pulled something but have heard it's a symptom.

Anyone changing their routine at all? I'm a bit scared of exercise now. Not sure if that's unfounded, maybe better after the 12 weeks? Xx

NatMoz · 02/02/2021 13:53

I'm in a paranoid state too.

Think I'm due around 9th October. We're trying not to get excited. It's our first. Proving difficult.

I've no clue when my ovulation date was. We just had sex 3 weeks straight after my period! We've been trying for 7 months

TheFamousMrEd · 02/02/2021 14:15

@summerhillgang I wouldn’t worry about exercising. I’m still running, horse riding and walking the dog at my usual levels (energy permitting!)

I wouldn’t suddenly start rock climbing or some other sport you’ve never done before πŸ˜‚

As far as I can tell, the guidance is that you’re ok to continue at your current levels of exercise

seaswim33 · 02/02/2021 14:23

Hi!

I am due on the 6th of October, will be my first!
I've been having a very stressful time. I tested positive last week on Tuesday and phoned the GP on the same day who was concerned that I had a small amount of bleeding the day before. I had to go into hospital the same day for a blood test and return on Thursday for another one to see if my pregnancy hormones had doubled or if I had miscarried or had an ectopic pregnancy. They did thankfully. I then had an early internal ultrasound on Saturday to see what going on and it all looked good (could only see the sack but it meant it was growing in the right place). I am booked for another scan next Friday... So basically this has been a total whirlwind of emotions after being excited I was instantly scared something had gone wrong. I also haven't been able to tell anyone so It's hard not being able to talk to anyone apart form my partner about it. I may have to tell my boss soon as I've already had to take quite a bit of time off last min.

I'm also totally exhausted and nauseous, is everyone getting that already?

seaswim33 · 02/02/2021 14:28

Yes, I had backache when I went for a walk at the weekend. I usually go for quite long walks but had to cut it short as my back was aching.

I want to tell just my parents for support but my partner is really against it but I might just do it as its been very stressful.

gln1989 · 02/02/2021 14:29

@PumpkinEverything

We were hoping to still go ahead even if it was just the two of us in Croatia but with covid at the moment i am not sure if that is wise with being pregnant i will have to see what the midwife suggests.

I haven't really thought about a private scan yet i think i am so nervous something could go wrong because i have been having AF type aches and with this being our first i don't really know what to expect or how i should even be feeling.

I am staying positive and excited for March so i can have my 12 weeks scan and check everything is ok. :-)

How are you feeling all in all?

Luna30 · 02/02/2021 14:29

@seaswim33 glad all showed positively with your bloods and the ultrasound. Great new. Please could you let me know what kind of spotting you experienced and how much as I am having occasional spotting.

I totally understand about the whirlwind of emotions, so draining in itself, let alone all the hormonal changes too. Hope you’re well.

seaswim33 · 02/02/2021 14:32

@allLuna30 thankyou for your kind words. I only had spotted once and it was a small-medium amount so I thought it was quite normal but my GP is being extra cautious I think. Maybe tell your GP to see what they think?

ViaRia · 02/02/2021 14:40

@seaswim33 sorry to hear that you're having a stressful time.

I'm a first-timer too - tested positive on Saturday and have nausea for most of the weekend (although that seems to be settling down now). I am also exhausted and hungry all the time!

I had a little bleeding this morning too and so I'm concerned about that. I'm trying not to jump to any conclusions but it is so hard to know what is normal and what is not!

I spoke to my GP and he didn't seem too concerned - just advised that I rest and keep an eye on it, and to contact him again if bleeding increases or if it becomes painful. His actual words we "feet up and fingers crossed" Hmm

It's definitely not easy to take my mind off it, but I'm just trying to stay feeling positive and not assume the worst.

Hope it all goes well for you next in the coming weeks and at your next scan. Take care x

wearyofwigan · 02/02/2021 14:45

Hello all,

I'm 5+2 in my second pregnancy, my last pregnancy was a MMC in July. We had ovulation induction this time and if that had failed ivf would have been the next step.

Am very nervous due to last time. Unfortunately I had blood tests and my levels were doing all the right things last time so will not be able to relax until I have a scan.

I've been offered a fertility ultrasound at 6 weeks although I will probably try and stretch it to 7 weeks so I can be more sure that I'll see a heartbeat.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy pregnancy.

DappledOliveGroves · 02/02/2021 15:01

May I join too please? I'm 4 weeks today. I had a MMC last July and we started trying again in January and got pregnant first time. I'm due on 12 October.

This will be my third pregnancy - I have an adult daughter who is almost 20.

Feeling so nervous. I've done 4 tests already since Friday and the line is progressing but I'm just anxious and will remain so until I have a baby in my arms (and I will then worry daily as I do already about my DD!

I'm a bit tired, breasts are slightly tender but not a lot else happening. I was very paranoid during my last pregnancy and that ended in MMC so I need to try and be more zen and accept that what will be, will be.

summerhillgang · 02/02/2021 15:23

@seaswim33 we're due the same day! πŸ’•

RHODXB · 02/02/2021 16:46

Just got a faint positive πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ die around mid October I believe!! Xx

TheFamousMrEd · 02/02/2021 17:08

I’ve just had a thought- I’m seeing the same hydro regularly for knee and hip problems. Will I need to let them know?

PumpkinEverything · 02/02/2021 17:08

We’ve got so many people joining this group as each day goes on, I love it 😁😁 especially as it means people closer to my EDD. Last time I was due at the end of the month and it meant everyone was away ahead of me and it just added to my anxiety πŸ™ˆ

Hope you’re okay @seaswim33 and it’s so good that you’ve got this group to speak to! Mumsnet done me wonders after my MMC and I think I’d have been lost without everyone. Is there maybe a friend you can tell? I think it makes it slightly easier when there’s someone other than your partner.

As far as I know I think the aches are normal @gln1989 as I’ve read quite a few people experiencing them. I’m getting them too! On and off weird feeling cramps that sometimes feel like mild AF. I’m just trying to be happy and positive about the whole thing, but it’s hard work. I keep half thinking I’ll wait until i get a scan at EPU at 8/9 weeks (they were so nice and offered me it for my next pregnancy), but then I’d just like to confirm everything is where it should be before that as thahs so far away 😳
