Hi Everyone

Im currently having my 2nd Miscarriage since October.
My first i was 5+3 and happened naturally and this time im 7+1 and again its happening naturally.
I just dont know what to do. I have convinced myself there must be something wrong and im overthinking everything.
Just wondering if anyone has managed to have any tests after 2 Miscarriages or have they had to wait until they have had 3 losses like i have read?
Thanks xx

@GeeHO98 it's good to know I'm not the only person in 20s suffering this

GeeHO98 · 19/01/2021 20:08

@haidri it's more common than you think I have a friend who just suffered 2 miscarriages in the last year too and is now pregnant with a little boy same age as me it can happen to anyone regardless of age, sadly there's just a chance of miscarriage or complications with every pregnancy. I'm now pregnant a 3rd time and this one is going well so far so don't give up hope yet maybe talking to your doctor might help like the original poster she is now being referred for investigations

Fawn68 · 08/02/2021 15:06

Hey @Scoaf how are things with you?

Scoaf · 08/02/2021 19:01

@Fawn68
Hey, thanks for getting in touch 🙂
I'm doing ok thanks, my gp has referred me flr some tests but i am still waiting for an appointment as they are running behind at the clinic due to Covid.
So just plodding on atm.
How are you feeling? Any better? X

@Scoaf that's good! Hopefully you don't have to long to wait. Did she say what tests you're getting? I'm doing good, got a really really faint positive yesterday morning, period due tomorrow. So will retest in Wednesday if it hasn't arrived yet! So anxious but will be prescribed progesterone this time round and also need to take aspirin if it is the case.

Hi all, I don't know if my stories any help to any one. But me and my husband tried for baby 1st time lucky but a week later miscarried, was sad as just coming to terms with it all. Tried again couple months later, we tried to conceive and 1 time again managed to get pregnant, thought we were very lucky 2 weeks later or 3 weeks miscarried now this time the pain was worse than pregnancy contractions. It was quite upsetting for me at the time so much pain and bleeding. However a few months past and we tried again 1st time lucky again and it was at the bk of my mind but I managed to keep this one he is a healthy boy aged 1 now.

Fawn68 · 08/02/2021 19:20

@Harley77 fab news so glad to hear it Smile

Scoaf · 08/02/2021 19:39

@Fawn68
Oh wow... congratulations. Thats fantastic news. I have everything crossed for you.
Gp said probably bloods and a scan but i guess i won't really know until i get there. The hospital did say they were quite behind so were trying to lut it to the back of our minds and just see how things go. X

Hey op,

So sorry for what you are going through. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in October 2019 and 13 weeks in April 2020. In 5 weeks time I am due a baby boy. I am 36. This pregnancy I had a huge bleed at 7 weeks and was convinced it was over, but it wasn't and everything is ok.

Miscarriages are so incredibly hard. And I'm so sorry you've had to go through it. There isn't necessarily anything to say you won't have a perfectly healthy pregnancy next time - the odds are in your favour. Good luck and I hope you heal up ok x

Fawn68 · 08/02/2021 19:46

@Scoaf thank you! Not taking it as a positive yet as it was quite faint so will see what Wednesday brings. Yes just see what happens. Please keep in touch x

Scoaf · 09/02/2021 12:50

Could it be that the opk from 3rd Feb was still picking up some hcg? And maybe this time you are ovulating x

Scoaf · 18/02/2021 10:21

@Fawn68 im really not sure tbh. I did do a PG test on 30th Jan as advised by my GP and it was negative. Maybe my cyvle is just all messed up due to the MC. I guess its just a waiting game again. X

Hey, so sorry for your losses. I had 2 mc last year (and first 2 pregnancies) and was already referred for fertility treatment because of pcos. Unfortunately though I was taken off the list because I’ve got pregnant naturally twice, but the dr was very kind and referred me to a gynae specialist. My appointment is on the 25th feb but I’m actually already pregnant again.

I’m 6 weeks today, and after a lot of research I decided to start taking 150mg aspirin per day as it’s been proven to be useful in women with recurrent mc. I took it from ovulation and will continue to take it right through the pregnancy. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me!

I’ve also got a video appointment with Nova Fertility tonight with a view to getting progesterone as well. It cost £150 for the appointment and I did it after seeing someone else on mumsnet got progesterone this way.

I may not need the progesterone or the aspirin, but as they do no harm I figured I would throw everything I can at this pregnancy! Like you, I really don’t want to go through another loss 🤞

Hope you’re ok xx

BlueberryPancake21 · 18/02/2021 11:02

So sorry for your losses. It's really hard, I think especially if you don't have children already - you start to doubt if your body can actually do it.

I had 2 losses in 2020 after 3 yrs TTC. 1st was natural at 8wks (measured 5), second was medically managed after baby's heartbeat stopped at 9wks (booked another private scan due to a small amount of spotting after seeing healthy hb at 8wks - honestly thought I was being dramatic at the time but it was bad news). We'd already had fertility testing ahead of our first natural PG which showed no issues. I'd had a blood clot previously associated with taking the pill so I asked for thrombophilia screening which came back clear so I never took aspirin. I was 36 when I had my losses so because of age EPU said they would prescribe progesterone if I got PG again but weren't willing to do any more testing as only 2 losses. I took progesterone from 4wks to 16wks in this pregnancy. Now 33wks. I know my MCs were probably just chance - it's not that uncommon, especially once over 35 - and that all it took was waiting for a good egg and yes I have less than when I was 20 but there's still loads of them, but it still plays on my mind that there is something wrong with me and the worry never quite goes away even though objectively I've had a completely normal pregnancy this time round.

Good luck, and I hope you get the support you need for you and your rainbow.

@Scoaf do you know roughly when AF is due? X
