2nd Miscarriage in a Row

Scoaf · 17/01/2021 09:07

Hi Everyone

Im currently having my 2nd Miscarriage since October.
My first i was 5+3 and happened naturally and this time im 7+1 and again its happening naturally.
I just dont know what to do. I have convinced myself there must be something wrong and im overthinking everything.
Just wondering if anyone has managed to have any tests after 2 Miscarriages or have they had to wait until they have had 3 losses like i have read?
Thanks xx

@Fawn68 so sorry for your losses. Its just so heartbreaking isnt it?
I have just read that there are 2 hospitals near me that have a recurring Miscarriage clinic and that they will accept referrals from patients who are 35 and have had 2 losses, i am 35 in 2 weeks so hoping this may help.
Yes i have had Erythema Nodosum, it was 1 of my first symptoms before my sarcoidosis was diagnosed in 2015.
So sorry to hear you have been so poorly.
Fingers crossed we both get our 🌈 this year x

@Scoaf it's really crap, and also makes you so scared to get pregnant again although you want it so much. That's great news about the clinic, get on to them and hopefully they can inform you! Ahh it's an awful condition, so painful. Having my first ever flare at the moment as past 4 weeks and hoping this doesn't affect me ttc, the doctor has reassured me it won't but all my inflammation markers are still high so I'm not so sure. I am hoping this will be our year to be happy Smile

Scoaf · 17/01/2021 21:26

@Fawn68 i know, its terrifying isnt it. Ypu want to get pregnant so much and then when you do your just so worried the whole time.
Yes its horrible, i really sympathise with you, i hope it clears up for you soon.
Yes definitely... fingers crossed 🤞 x

@Fawn68 I assume the dose is so low it doesn't impact as I've been advised to take right up til I'm due. For what its worth I had an abscess on my groin drained and packed a few weeks back, pretty big open wound and I didn't bleed any more (this was a worry I had!)

Lifeinaonesie · 17/01/2021 21:30

I had 6 MC and a MMC at 12 weeks. Took 75mg aspirin and now have a 16 month old.

FattyPuss · 17/01/2021 21:39

No tests but I did have a successful pregnancy after two miscarriages, don't give up hope, hugs to you. X

flamingflamingos · 17/01/2021 21:41

I'm so sorry OP.

I had two MCs in 2019 before I had my rainbow who is now 10 months old. It's dark and it's shit and it's lonely and you take the time you need to be OK.

Fawn68 · 17/01/2021 21:50

@HungryHippo20 that's great thanks! Hope you're recovering ok x

Scoaf · 18/01/2021 09:37

Just a little update for you ladies.
I have spoken to my GP this morning who was incredibly kind and understanding and is doing me a referral to have some tests done. So please anyone who is in the same position dont suffer in silence speak to your GP.
Thank you all for your kind words and advice. Wishing you all the best of Luck with your Rainbow Babies 🌈 xxx

@Scoaf brilliant news! I wish you the best with it all, and it would be lovely to keep us updated x

Littlepaws18 · 18/01/2021 10:47

I absolutely feel for you, it's not an easy time to have a miscarriage during lockdown as every dept you need seems closed due to Covid. Last year I had three early miscarriages latest 9 weeks. I decided to do some investigations myself and with my gp I discovered I was iron deficient and had high blood pressure. Took baby aspirin and iron tablets and the hospital also offered extra hormone tablets and now I'm 12 weeks. Do a bit of investigating it might help xx

savanahnana · 18/01/2021 10:57

Yes last year had 2 straight off, one at 10 weeks and the other at 7 weeks. I've carried children before to full term so I couldn't work out why I was suddenly having miscarriages and both after each other when I'd previously been ok. I took it really hard and was convinced I could know longer have children as after the miscarriages I then struggled to become pregnant. I think my body just needed a break and to fully heal so I made a point of using that time to get back on track with my fitness and eating better. I had spoke to a doctor at the time but my GP wasn't overly concerned or actually very helpful. Please don't be so tough on yourself though, I know it's really hard and your mind will be all over the place. I bottled a lot of my feelings up towards this which didn't help, do you have anyone you can talk to about it? I did feel much better after I spoke to a friend and realised miscarriages are a lot more common than people think.

savanahnana · 18/01/2021 10:58

Just seen your update, great news and a step in the right direction Flowers

MrsRosiieP · 18/01/2021 11:21

Good for you OP! Some GPs are just more understanding than others. Did you maybe ask your doc about taking aspirin?

Scoaf · 18/01/2021 11:58

@Fawn68
Thanks so much.... you too 🌈 xx

Hi guys, I'm a bit stuck.

So two weeks ago I was supposed to be 9 weeks & therefore had a private early reassurance scan (as I previously had a miscarriage in my first pregnancy just 3months ago when I got to 12 weeks) and at the scan they dated me 6 weeks.

I had a NHS scan today due to me seeing browny discharge and they've dated me 6 weeks when I should be 11.

Am I having a missed miscarriage because they can see the sac but no embryo?

I'm confused!

haidri · 18/01/2021 22:19

I'm only 24years old with no history of medical issues nor weight abnormalities. Is anyone familiar with stories of girls in their 20s that are miscarrying with no reason?

calimommy · 19/01/2021 04:18

Hi OP I'm sorry for your losses they are dreadful.
I've had several losses but also several babies.
1st pregnancy ✅
2nd pregnancy MMC @ 9 weeks
3rd pregnancy MC @ 11 weeks (SCH)
4th pregnancy ✅
5th pregnancy ✅
6th pregnancy MC @ 10 weeks
7th pregnancy -29weeks and counting

I had tests done by my consultant after the loss of my third pregnancy, nothing was noted. It is so disheartening to loose a pregnancy. And I don't think the anxiety ever goes. The first trimester is crap. Best of luck to you for the future x

calimommy · 19/01/2021 04:19

@haidri I'm sorry you are in this position. It is best to make your own thread if you have a question. Good luck

GeeHO98 · 19/01/2021 13:56

@haidri I'm 22 and have had 2 recent miscarriages in a row perfectly healthy these things can just happen there's not always a reason unfortunately I agree with you making your own post
