Luckyducky2 · 18/03/2021 11:28

@Tinpo congratulations on your 8 week scan, am so pleased for you!

Not such good news for me im afraid ☹ I took a test today to confirm what i suspected anyway and got a negative result. Am 8dp5dt so a wee bit early but was feeling zero symptoms (and I usually start getting symptoms about 4 days past transfer) and i just new the embryo transfer hadn't worked. £3k down the drain added onto all the other $$$, I actually feel sick at the money that's being wasted. I know none of that would matter if we succeeded but when you fail its like an extra kick in the teeth? My husband just said to me he doesn't think any of our embryos will work....I feel like a big fat failure!! 🥺

Im getting the hot tub blown up tonight and a bottle of wine looked out, absolutely had a belly full of this ttc.

Luckyducky2 · 18/03/2021 11:36

@tinkerbell999 so sorry for your losses, I've had 6 miscarriages so catching you up, its the absolute pits! So tired of trying to keep positive and jolly about it, I'm 42 next month and I feel like time is almost up. I have a beautiful 4 year old and know how lucky i am to have him but I wish I hadn't waited so long to get help with this, I wasted so much time trying to get help through the NHS and I'm mad at myself now as I must be battling egg quality now along with the immune issues!

That sounds like a good idea doing the screening with ivf, do you think you will go for it? So hard to know what to do, its all just money money money isn't it? Xx

LaurenAB94 · 18/03/2021 12:07

@tinkerbell999 sorry for your losses, have you looked at different supplements that can help with egg quality? I hope you get some luck soon

@Tinpo congrats on the scan that's brilliant news baby is growing well and you got to see the little flicker of a heartbeat such a magical moment

@VenusStarr that's brilliant news about being fast tracked I really hope the superovulation program works this month for you but at least you've got a plan B if not and brilliant you can get it on nhs. Sending you lots of luck

@Luckyducky2 I'm so sorry , have you got another transfer lined up. I really hope it works for you it's so gutting, treat yourself tonight you deserve to be spoilt , just remember it's not your fault your not a failure! It's such a crappy journey to be on but we're all here to support you . It's eye watering spending the money even though in the long run it'll be worth it , it's just another worry and costs we shouldn't have to spend.

Thank you all ❤️

@Luckyducky2 I’m so so sorry to hear this. It is just shit. And I’m sorry your husband isn’t feeling positive either. Have you got another transfer planned or could you get any eggs tested? Although that’s just more crazy money isn’t it - it’s all just so unfair.

@VenusStarr everything crossed for your super ovulation cycle, but so glad you’ve got a plan B and won’t have to wait too long.

VenusStarr · 18/03/2021 17:36

I am so sorry @Luckyducky2 ❤️ this is so shit. I hope you enjoy the hot tub and wine this evening. You are definitely not a failure (even though I understand that feeling) bug hugs.

Thank you @LaurenAB94 @Tinpo 🤞 definitely not feeling hopeful but glad we have a plan moving forward.

Anyone that's taken letrozole.... Did you feel like you were going to ovulate early? I'm cd5 today and have my usual ovulation pains and a bit of ewcm today. I usually ovulate on cd10/11. I'm taking it as a positive sign that the drugs are doing what they need to (and messing with my emotions, already had a good cry today over nothing 👍). I measure my bbt but I don't think it's accurate as I've got higher temps at the moment - they're actually my usual post ov temps - but I didn't really have a temp dip when af arrived this time. X

LaurenAB94 · 18/03/2021 17:56

@VenusStarr when I took letrozole I got a few cramps when I took it but 2 days before ovulation I got cramps and cm and I ovulated on CD 14 when I normally ovulate on CD 21/22 I could tell when I'd ovulated because I got really painful ovulation cramps. Hope this helps , good luck this cycle xx

VenusStarr · 18/03/2021 19:50

Thank you @LaurenAB94 I do usually get really noticeable ovulation pains, just don't want to ovulate too early. My scan is on cd9 and in my last pregnancy I had a scan on day 9 and had 2 16mm follicles and I ovulated 2 days later and one took, so if I get similar on Monday, I'll be happy (and then a bfp in 2 weeks! 🤞)
Thanks for sharing, hoping the letrozole is doing its job ☺️ xx

LaurenAB94 · 18/03/2021 19:55

@VenusStarr sending you lots of luck your way xx

Did anyone have any scans done during their initial consultation with Dr Shehata? I didn’t realise the tests would be solely blood tests. I assumed some sort of scan to check the uterus/Fallopian tubes would be done to rule out our causes of miscarriage...

Minta85 · 19/03/2021 18:16

@HopingForABlessing I had an ultrasound scan at my first Dr S appointment as well as the blood tests.

HopingForABlessing · 19/03/2021 18:25

@Minta85 they didn’t suggest one. I should have asked to be honest - no idea why I didn’t think of it :(

Tinpo · 19/03/2021 18:41

@HopingForABlessing I had one at my results appointment because something in my blood tests suggested PCOS, so he might do one based on your results.

HopingForABlessing · 19/03/2021 18:47

@Tinpo ahhh my results appointment is in Harley St - guessing that may delay me then as I might need to book an appointment for an ultrasound. Or perhaps he will send me to Wimpole St where I was sent for my blood tests Confused

Naticle · 19/03/2021 20:40

@HopingForABlessing he definitely has a scanning machine at Harley street.

VenusStarr · 20/03/2021 12:10

I didn't have a scan at my initial appointment or results @HopingForABlessing. I don't have pcos and my bloods didn't show any signs either. Definitely ask him though, if you're concerned about anything. When is your follow up? X

Luckyducky2 · 20/03/2021 13:21

Thanks for the support girls, so hard to just keep facing disappointment after disappointment, its really starting to get to me! I woke up yesterday with the sorest throat and now can't go for my blood test at the ivf clinic until I've had a covid test. It never rains but it pours as they say! Did another pregnancy test this morning though and still negative so I'm just coming off the medication now. I'll need to wait a month before starting all the medication over again so next transfer won't be till around May/June but im going to push for 2 embryos this time (they seem to be very against it at my clinic?). I am feeling so determined I am not giving up on this!!

@HopingForABlessing I got a scan at my first appointment with Dr S but only as I'd mentioned that both my sisters had PCOS and when he scanned me he found i had it aswell. I would just ask at your results appointment if you have any concerns? Xx

VenusStarr · 20/03/2021 15:02

@Luckyducky2 ❤️

I'm on cd7, finished the letrozole course yesterday and my period finished on cd3 but today I've just had some light, fresh blood. We did have sex earlier, but I've never had bleeding pre ovulation. Has this happened to anyone else? My cycles have always regular, with no issues, but since starting on the complex plan and now trying the letrozole, I'm having random bleeds. Safe to say I'm going through the motions with this cycle, but I've got no confidence it's going to work. I'm glad we've got the chance of moving onto ivf. Feeling fed up x

HopingForABlessing · 20/03/2021 15:40

@Naticle thanks for confirming x

@VenusStarr oh okay. My follow up is on the 29th of this month at Harley St! I just thought maybe he would check the my uterus or my tubes for any scarring/blockages etc...

@Luckyducky2 ok thank you! I’ll ask him if he thinks it’s necessary Xx

Luckyducky2 · 20/03/2021 22:02

@VenusStarr I never experienced any bleeding on the letrozole, would it be worth emailing the nurses and seeing what they suggest? Maybe just your body getting used to the new medication? Xx

VenusStarr · 20/03/2021 22:25

Thank you @Luckyducky2 I'm at the clinic on Monday for my scan, so think I'll just wait as I don't think they pick up messages on the weekend. I just feel like it can't be a good sign.
I'm starting to feel like we're not going to be successful with Dr S. My cycle hasn't been normal since starting on the immune protocol and I still can't get pregnant, even though he thinks we struggle because of my nk cells 😔 xx

LaurenAB94 · 21/03/2021 06:55

@VenusStarr I'm sorry your having trouble with the medication , I got quite crampy but never had any bleeding but I think you can have a small amount of bleeding when taking letrozole due to it producing larger/ more follicles so might be that or could just be sex has caused a bit of irritation. I hope Monday goes well for you xx

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 21/03/2021 10:16

Thank you @LaurenAB94 I hope you're right. I am very aware of my ovaries today, so hoping the letrozole did its job. I've had no more blood today, so maybe it was to do with irritation after sex.
I usually ovulate on cd10, so I'm intrigued what my ovaries are up to. Not long to wait now.
Hope you're OK xx

LaurenAB94 · 21/03/2021 10:34

@VenusStarr let us know how you get on tomorrow. Hopefully there Doing great things even if it's a bit rubbish been achy. I'm good thank you x

VenusStarr · 22/03/2021 21:26

I had some bad news today. I haven't responded to treatment as expected, which is disappointing. I had 5 small follicles but Mr S didn't seem that hopeful.

But the worst news was I have suspected adenomyosis. I don't know too much about it but I've got a follow up scan later this week with Dr Jan. Feeling pretty devastated 😢

Luckyducky2 · 22/03/2021 21:57

Oh @VenusStarr I was just wondering how you had got on today. I am so sorry for more crap news, my god can none of us catch a break?! I had to Google adenomyosis, I've never heard of it before, i was reading ivf is useful for treating this condition? Try not to panic, you're under the best doctors, just need to get more information and I'm sure they'll do everything they can to help you! Sending you the biggest hug xxx
