Feeling fine although, like Bundle, am feeling big and tired. Also, discovered a varicose vein between my legs which is very attractive It doesn't hurt (so far) but sometimes when I walk I just feel this immense pressure. I suspect this will only get worse over the next few weeks but then will ease after the birth (fingers crossed).

Had a growth scan last week too (see having large baby thread) and the baby's size is fairly average so far, so again more crossing of fingers that this will continue.

Am off now to read 'There's a house inside my Mummy' to ds.

lisac · 20/01/2003 14:31

I'm due at the beginning of May with my second. Everything's been fine with the pregnancy so far, but although I'm only 25 weeks, I'm feeling big and uncomfortable already. I'm sure I didn't feel like this so early last time

bundle · 20/01/2003 15:12

TigerFeet, I have some very attractive maternity support tights on today, so legs feeling good

bundle · 29/01/2003 18:44

baby has been going BONKERS today - I thought people could see my bump move in a meeting
How's everyone else feeling?

OuiOui · 29/01/2003 22:05

Hi Bundle, long time no speak!
my little one - now 20 weeks is starting kick much more. I'm feeling really tired and today got a little worried as I felt that kind of period tiredness around belly and back - am sure it's nothing and really should relax more. However we're moving abroad in less than 2 months and I'm trying to organise a handover at work and organise the home move. So much to do and so little time. Means I won't be going to the Whittington after all.

deegward · 29/01/2003 23:54

Was in "town" on Friday night at a Burns Supper, and thought of all of you who are due to give birth in the Whittington, as our taxi drove past it on the way home. (I am from Edinburgh and only moved down last year so don't really know places). Well I'm sorry but it too all my powers not to wake up very drunk but asleep dh to tell him "thats the Whittington, and I 'know lots of people due to give birth there!".

Up just now, as can't sleep, just been violently sick, and baby is doing maneouvres that should not be allowed. Good to see everyone is doing OK. Homeopath is coming to yoga class tomorrow so looking forward to what she is going to say. I'm a sucker for anthing that will help me... gin,...chocolate...etc....

percy · 30/01/2003 13:02

hi all
pleased thread has started again as i am always too lazy to look it up
29 weeks now i think and am the size of a small elephant.
keep changing my mind between having this one at home and at the whittington - sometimes i feel home would be nice, but then i think of the epidural and feel heartbroken to leave that option behind. ho hum.

Katherine · 31/01/2003 14:18

Dare I announce myself on this thread at last! Have been lurking on the miscarriage board as didn't want to tempt fate but had scan this morning and all was well. Dare I beleive it! Measured 12 weeks and 5 days. Due early August. Sure I fetl movement last night for the first time - faint popping feeling deep inside and no wind for once. Felt slightly different. Am finally starting to get excited although still haunted by phantom trickles. But there you go - dared to put myself on a pregnancy thread at last

Melly · 31/01/2003 14:27

Hi Katherine, welcome to the thread! So pleased for you. Looking forward to hearing all about your progress.
Wishing you all the very best for a healthy and happy pregnancy

Hi all - and thanks for message Ghosty. Things are going good with me (well apart from usual niggles of heartburn and backache etc) - 32 weeks now I think - I get so confused and forgetful about how far on I am. Planning lots of pampering treats for myself over the next few weeks. How is everyone else doing?

OuiOui · 23/02/2003 19:32

Hi girls
am just hitting 24 weeks and am alternating between feeling good and bad. however, don't have enough time to rest, what with dd at 16months (although admittedly have a fantsatic nanny), I'm in my final 2 weeks at work and then we move to Thailand in 4 weeks (lots of organisation...)
Am taking hoeopathy but can't say whether it's doing anything - my lower back/bum area is very weak though...
Healthy continuings to all!

bundle · 24/02/2003 13:07

hi everyone, glad you're all ok. ghosty - IKWYM about the time...34 wks on weds! dd is being very sweet, actually offering to rub mummy's tummy with some aromatherapy stretch mark cream a friend gave me . took her to see Thomas the Tank Engine & friends at Wembley arena on Friday which almost finished me off, thank god dh looked after her on Sat morning so I could have a lie-in
having lots of trouble turning over in bed and lots of quite uncomfortable kicking going on - really disconcerting at work/on the tube!
Percy - what pampering do you have planned? need some new ideas to keep dh busy !!!!

deegward · 24/02/2003 22:11

On same track as everyone else, 35 and half (v important) sore back, can't turn on bed etc etc. Ds is really good though he will sit on my back and rub away.

Going to organise final waxing, and pedicure for a few weeks time, want ot get hair highlighted but don't know if would be able to sit that long!

Interested to know what everyone has planned, oh and have built up nursery furniture and put up border so baby can come if wish!

percy · 24/02/2003 22:28

well - check this out for pampering.

yesterday i had a massage and then went to the cinema on my own ( a real luxury in my book)

then in a few weeks time am going away for a girls night with 2 friends to a hotel with a spa.

am thinking about asking (well perhaps even demanding) that every sunday from 4pm i can go out and do something for me. with only 8 weeks to go, i feel i should make the most of my freedom.

do you think those ideas would keep him busy enough bundle. i think my dh is quaking in his boots about the amount of time and money i am spending on this pampering business. yet, very important stuff in my opinion !!!!!

bundle · 03/03/2003 13:02

percy, you've inspired me. so this week I will fix that hair appointment, try & squeeze in one last massage and go & see a girly movie on my own
I managed to get good naps over the weekend so feeling ok, and my milk has started to come in! how's everyone else?

deegward · 03/03/2003 15:41

Yip, milk is in, and leaking! Hands and ankles really swollen, but blood pressure is low so OK. Have just packed bag for hosp, but as should get out after 6 hours really unsure what I really need to take. Still to book, waxings, and have decided to get eyelashes done, so that still may look good without make up. Yes I know vain!

3.5 weeks to go, or should i say 5.5 weeks as it is a second baby!?

percy · 03/03/2003 15:55

bundle - you go girl! I had my second sunday night installment last night and went to see the hours - very good.

goodness me - i don't remember my milk coming in last time until after the birth??? isn't that a bit annoying - are you leaking everywhere then?

i've still got just under 8 weeks to go - i finally properly worked it out - i have been telling people all different dates and have confused everyone - so now i know properly. seems so long away, and yet so close. am really really knackered today - you must feel exhausted bundle and deegward.

bundle · 03/03/2003 16:36

percy, not exactly leaking, just managed to squeeze a drop out after a warm bath (always been curious as to when it would come back, as it was only last summer I gave up breastfeeding dd1, and the milk being there had become such a familiar thing)and I get those 'tingly' feelings (a bit like the Fimbles ) too...which of course this time round i know what they are.
I don't feel too knackered as long as I take things fairly easy. I'm only giving up work in 3 weeks!
I saw The Hours which was good, but I think I need only 'uplifting' films from now on...
dh has just booked us in to see Der Rosenkavalier at ENO for a last bit of culture before dd2! hope I get an aisle seat

Melly · 03/03/2003 21:31

Have not logged on for a few weeks, so glad to read that everyone is doing well on this thread. I've decided to go with my own dates now which makes me due on 9th April rather than the scan date of 14th April......only 5 days but it seems like months when you get to this stage doesn't it! My bump aches a lot and my back is really playing up, can't wait to have the baby now, but am making the most of the last few weeks of unbroken sleep. Packed my hospital bag today with dd's "help" - very cute looking at the tiny clothes she wore as a newborn.....was she ever that small!! DD is 19 months and over the last few weeks she has become really clingy to me, I'm sure she knows there's something going on. I feel really torn between trying not to let her be too clingy and on the other hand it's a really special time for cuddles and closeness before baby No 2 arrives....anyone else feel like this?

bundle · 04/03/2003 10:53

Melly, snap! I'm due on your 'new' due date, 9 April too! my dd hasn't been too clingy - but she is now 2yrs 8 months, so quite a big girl and v independent! obviously she has clingy moments and I totally indulge those with her because I don't want to lose the 'baby' in her. she's been very positive about the new baby, asking if she can help to bath her when she arrives etc - there are lots of younger siblings at her nursery and she's v good with them too. sorry your back's playing up, mine (touch wood) hasn't been too bad up until now, apart from the mammoth effort required to flip sides in bed. had a scan last week (because I'd had earlier dating scans, they offered me another one) and according to measurements, dd2 is already 5lb 4oz! (so heading for her sister's 8lb 4oz, at least)

Melly · 05/03/2003 21:19

Oh Bundle that's really sweet about your dd asking if she can help to bath the new baby...my dd points at my tummy and says "baby.....aaahhh" and then kisses my tummy.....gets me very choked up. Sounds like your dd2 is going to be a healthy weight!! I suspect that my No 2 will be too judging my the size of me. I'm due to see the midwife tomorrow, am a bit apprehensive as saw her colleague 10 days ago who thought that the baby might be breech. I'm hoping that won't be the case as I really don't fancy having to trail off to hospital for scans etc etc, and if it is breech I fancy the external cephalic version (think I've got that right) even less!!

kaz33 · 05/03/2003 21:39

Hi ya - due 30 May so now into the last third.

Tonight went for a massage so feeling very chilled - think I'm gooing to make this is a regular occurrence. Ladies we deserve it.

Started to write list for all the baby things I need to sort out - the excitement is starting to build.

Going away with DP and DS ( 19 months ) in April just down to my parents. But chance to spend some time together before new arrival. Been teaching DS to say baby - it sounds more like baba !! Saw a friend last weekend who has new 9 day old - DS was not jealous at all when I held baby for about an hour... bodes well.

Melly · 14/03/2003 08:43

Hello everyone, how are we all doing?

Saw midwife yesterday, thankfully baby not breech but is in LOP position which I think means left occipito posterior? Basically I think this is when the baby lies with their spine against yours which was the same as my dd. Would certainly account for backache I've been having. I'm pleased the baby's not breech but not apprehensive about this other position because it can mean a longer and more painful labour. I had an epidural and Ventouse last time but was hoping to manage a bit better this time round......oh well! Will be trying some of the positions the midwife suggested, i.e hands and knees etc.......anyone else got experience of this and did adopting these positions work for you?

bundle · 18/03/2003 16:52

Melly, had a shocking night's sleep (or rather lack of it) and terrible trouble turning over sides to get comfy. also getting a tad constipated. mmm nice! must remember to drink more water today. hope everyone else is ok.
