@DanceM1 how many weeks are you? Yes I'm hoping it can be managed by diet. It's just so scary as it's unknown. I have midwife tomorrow and then a hospital appointment Friday so hopefully I will have a better understanding of it all by the end of the week. It's also not knowing whether I will be induced or if so when this will be. They have said I will get 4 weekly scans so that one benefit to all of this xx

DanceM1 · 01/02/2021 21:32

@Lollol86 ah try not to worry! Im sure once you have all the information you will feel better about it. Let us know how you get on with your appointments this week 😊 I'm 35+4 today so a bit late! They said fluid may have been high because baby had just had a wee before the scan so I keep hoping its just something like that but I guess we will see tomorrow!

Lollol86 · 01/02/2021 21:46

@DanceM1 thank you and I will do, also let us know how you get on at your scan tomorrow 🤞🏻

Pugprincess · 01/02/2021 22:40

Hi everybody 😊

@Lollol86 happy 3rd trimester but sorry to see you have GD. Hope it can be easily managed x

@NI101 hi, I had bleeding really early on like you. Mine was light brown discharge but lasted awhile, first couple of weeks after I found out I was pregnant I think. I put it down to implantation process, think it takes awhile for it to burrow in deep and secure so disturbs some lining. It cleared up and turned to normal pregnancy discharge but then at 9 weeks I had a gish of red which was terrifying but no pain, went to a private scan and it was a haematoma bleed which is quite common. I'm 29 weeks now. X

@ew1990 so glad you and baby are OK from your fall, oh that's my fear with my negative blood like you. I'm trying to make a conscious effort to use my bannister rail on the stairs.

@DanceM1 glad you are doing better and good luck with your scan tomorrow x

Well I haven't had my 28 week midwife app yet as I rearranged from last mon to today due to snow, then 15 mins before my app docs rang to cancel as midwife was calling someone an ambulance-hope they are OK. So I'm rescheduled for tomorrow morning. Babies movements are starting to change with I assume them growing, had a right good poke in the ribs earlier that scared hubby as I went ow! I'm also waking about 3 or 4 times in the night now, sometimes for toilet but also as I think I just want to check baby is still moving, I struggle to drift back off till I've had a kick lol. Good practice I suppose. Nursery is progressing still, coving is all up and the fresh plaster is lightly sanded ready for its first coat of white wash to prime. Will attach some pics. You may notice some green lights, orbs? A friend online had a similar experience after losing her baby. Could be a trick of the light but it made me emotional. I like to think baby c approves of what we are doing and supports their sibling ❤️

@JennyMY gosh, how exciting! 13th centile sounds ok, my first was under 10th.

@DanceM1 Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

@Simmy20 that's great news. How wonderful they will scan you so often.

@NI101 sorry to hear about your bleeding, it's so stressful, I had some this pregnancy, but so far all is still fine.

@Lollol86 sorry to hear about the GD. I know a few people who've had it and managed it with a low carb diet. I recommend cheese to replace chocolate! I think there's a Facebook group for it.

@Starfish762 always ring your midwife if you're worried. They should at least get you in to listen for the heartbeat. Check the kickscount website for info on what they do.

Anyone had itching? I had it last pregnancy, but was told it was normal, but have it even earlier this time. All under my boobs, on my sides, arms and tonight on my feet. Going to call the midwife tomorrow.
I am still not sure what to do about the aspirin, the midwife agreed I only had one risk factor (my age), so shouldn't take it, but the consultant has sent a prescription. So I suppose I'd better talk to him again. He's already sent two appointments, so not sure I can be bothered trying to change to a different consultant now, it all seems like a lot of stress.

Dipsy77 · 02/02/2021 07:35

@Lollol86 I have gd was diagnosed at 26 weeks just before Christmas which wasn't perfect. There is a website and Facebook group, I'll put a link up here for you. There are some lovely recipies including chocolate brownies and cheesecakes. It's weird what you can and can't tolerate but the website is far more informative than the nhs. The wrap pizzas are also a winner for me and you will get over the finger pricks I promise !. I've only got 3 weeks left hopefully, I've packed my chocolate for when I've had the babies. Also it's not down to anything you've done it's our placentas and hormones that cause it, good luck with it and if you need any further advise just ask x

Morning everybody. My growth scan went really well. I am so relieved. Fluid levels have come down, baby's heartrate was fine, not crazy high like last time, growth perfect, still on 50th centile, no protein in urine, blood pressure has come down... so I've been put back under midwife care now. I realised how anxious I've been because I nearly cried when the consultant spoke to me! He was so lovely as well.. as was the midwife. They really listened about how anxious I was and were so so reassuring. Absolutely lovely people. The midwife did tell me off for not calling triage about my swelling on Friday but said it clearly is fine now.

@Pugprincess thats disappointing that you didn't get your appointment but yes, I hope the other lady is ok!!

@Threnody I've had itching but its on and off and touch wood, hasn't been too bad so far. I feel for you- there is nothing worse!! Have you spoken to your midwife?

Lollol86 · 02/02/2021 11:18

@Pugprincess babies room is coming along lovely.

@Threnody that's what I'm hoping it can be managed by diet 🤞🏻 I'm going to make a post list of goodies to eat like chocolate. I just need to think I'm unlikely to be allowed to go over 40 weeks now so a maximum of 12 weeks until I can eat the better stuff.

@Dipsy77 thank you for the site I will have a good look through it. I bet you can't wait to get at that chocolate again, the thing I find most frustrating is the not knowing. Like when will baby be born. Both my girls were 8-11 days late and in my head this one would be too but now I'm wondering if I will need an induction at an earlier date.

Pugprincess · 02/02/2021 11:24

Morning all, midwives went OK apart from me having a funny turn (think anxiety attack) in the waiting room before app. Was warm and I got thirsty but had no water. Told them I didn't feel good and they gave me water. Everything OK though although my blood pressure was high at first but I was upset. Told them about my low blood sugar type hunger attacks but my urine was OK. Think I'm measuring OK they didn't seem concerned. Seeing me again at 32 weeks on 22nd Feb. I have a new midwife apparently my old ones retired suddenly lol, new one is lovely too though so I'm fine. Waking up so much at night to either wee, check baby movements or eat, last night I ate a tin of fruit and yoghurt at midnight and then toast and brioche at 4am then proper breakfast at 8 lol. I was ravenous. Not always that bad but I do keep snacks in bedside drawer 🙈 anyone else finding this. Problem is though I eat cause I need to but then the heartburn comes. Can't lay down without reflux even ages after eating. I've had 24 packs of loveheart sweets delivered off amazon lol. X

Dipsy77 · 02/02/2021 11:31

@Lollol86 I think it depends how your blood sugars are. If you go on meds you could be induced at 38 weeks. I'm on medication, my fasting levels wouldn't settle and they are the ones you can't really do much about with diet.
I'm getting induced at 37 weeks but that's because it's twins. I'm just hoping I don't need
Insulin but if I do at least it's to help me and babies . I've totally changed my diet and mainly eat really healthy and my readings are brilliant after food. My fasting levels are creeping into the 5s again which is still ok unless they go over 5.3. If I have 2 readings in a week over 5.3 for fasting I will have to go on insulin x

Lollol86 · 02/02/2021 11:38

@Dipsy77 my fasting levels were just over at 5.8 yesterday morning, she said their cut off was 5.7 🤦🏼‍♀️ hopefully my diet changes can manage it. It can change at any point too, so it literally is a waiting game.
Twins, how exiting, I bet you can't wait xx

Dipsy77 · 02/02/2021 11:48

@Lollol86 I know I can't wait.
My fasting is 5.3 or under and after meals 7.8 or under. I have been getting between 4-5 for fasting and between 5-6 after meals so doing well at the minute but the further in you get the worse they can be.
Did you have the full glucose test or just the fasting level check ?

Lollol86 · 02/02/2021 12:12

@Dipsy77 I had the full glucose test but not sure what my results were for the second blood tests. I will find that out Friday.

Threnody · 02/02/2021 14:51

@DanceM1 I spoke to a midwife, and they have sent me in to DAU for a checkup. Too early to be strapped to the machine (22 weeks today), but we listened to the heartbeat, and they checked my blood pressure and now I'm just waiting for a blood test, but I won't get the results until tomorrow.

Sakura54 · 02/02/2021 16:20

@ew1990 Woah, how scary. Glad all is well with you and baby and yes, be very careful on the stairs!

Hi @NI101 I had spotting and a very achy body and stomach at 7 weeks. I went to A&E, but my scan was fine. It was the first time I’ve ever bled when pregnant and has never happened again.

@JennyMY This baby and my first were both around 10th-13th centile. I think it’s fine, but that’s good they want to get baby out sooner. Apparently they do them at 38w at my hospital. Are you nervous?

@SkyBlue20 It’s rare for babies to not be head down by 36w so I’m sure she will turn soon so you can feel more movement again. It just seems to me that when they are this big, they don’t have room to kick, more squirm about slowly which is somewhat a different feeling? When they asked about movement at triage, I just said I feel a lot but not as much as I used to. That wasn’t why I went in and I wasn’t going to say I thought it was because baby was too squashed lol, but they wanted to monitor it so I guess women go in for reduced movements all the time.

@DanceM1 50th centile, how perfect. Glad everything is back to normal now.

@Pugprincess I have disturbed sleep too as my stomach aches now and again, made worse by baby moving. I don’t eat during the night but for many months now my appetite has been shocking. It seems like I can eat double what I used to and very often after dinner, I have a full bowl of cereal or sweet pastry/bread. I feel like I've been shovelling food into my mouth these days!

Pugprincess · 02/02/2021 18:19

Glad it's not just me @Sakura54 lol.
I got measured at my midwife app but she said it was good but didn't explain anymore and I forgot to ask, but checked my chart and my original one is gone and I have a green version that says copy with only the hospital measurement plotted on that.. So confused. I'm back on 22nd so I will ask more about it. I assume if they aren't referring me to hospital at this point then hopefully no worries. See what they say next time. X

DanceM1 · 02/02/2021 19:11

@Sakura54 thank you.. its such a relief! Just hoping I don't find something else to worry about soon 🙈

@Threnody glad they've checked you over! Im sure baby is fine but nice to have reassurance isnt it!

@Pugprincess thats hilarious about eating during the night. I wake up roughly every hour and a half. Not even convinced its always because of needing a wee or heartburn. I think sometimes I just wake up. Maybe practice for night feeds!!

ew1990 · 02/02/2021 19:12

@lolol86 sorry about the GD. Hopefully won't cause any problems.

@pugprincess good progress on the room.

I had another growth scan today, still following the line and weighs about 4lb 9 now, I was scared of being induced again but doctor said they'll just scan me every 3 weeks until I deliver which is 2 more scans hopefully.
I saw a midwife for the first time since my booking appointment so I had a million questions for her.

And my placenta has gone from being anterior to fundal, they said it's nothing to worry about though.

Starfish762 · 03/02/2021 09:39

@DanceM1 so pleased all is well, what a relief.

@Threnody let us know when you get your results. Was that coz of the itching? Sorry if I’ve missed something else, struggling to keep up.

@Pugprincess sorry to hear about your panic attack that sounds awful. Hope you’re feeling better today.

@ew1990 good news on the growth scan & that they’ll continue to keep an eye, I’m sure you won’t be induced unless absolutely necessary, these bubs grow approx half a pound a week at the end! Can’t believe that was your first face to face chat with a midwife though, shocking!

I rang triage this morn coz the movements are still barely there, when they are they’re SO light. They said as I’m 23+2 & have felt some movement they won’t have me in (don’t until 26+), Im sure if I said I’d felt absolutely nothing they may have to check HB. Anterior placenta which will be adding to it I’m sure. I have my 24w call with my MW next Thurs which she’s now changed to an in person clinic meet (she’s an actual angel), so hopefully hear HB there & feel reassured. Gosh pregnancy after loss is just a whirlwind of worry, I didn’t stress at all with DD & I literally had no bump till about 7-8 months 😂

Pugprincess · 03/02/2021 10:27

@Starfish762 thanks it wasn't the best lol. Bless you, if it helps my placenta is at the back and I'm 29 weeks and I still have odd days where movements are light, yesterday was one of them, baby was so active the day before but then yesterday it was light and low down, so the anterior Placenta must make that even harder. It's back to being high up and rib poking today lol. Still no pattern for me x

JennyMY · 03/02/2021 10:45

Hi ladies, sorry been quiet - things on this end have been hectic and I'm now booked in to deliver tomorrow!! Just on my way to the hospital for pre op bloods and to talk with anaesthetist now. Then will go home and come back at 7am tomorrow. I'll be 37weeks +3. Majorly glad I decided to start mat leave at the beginning of this week now! I won't say I'm not nervous but it'll be a relief to have him here especially after such a difficult journey. @Sakura54 Good to know you have had a healthy lower centile baby ❤️ They don't seem too worried but I have to have a couple of steroid shots for his lungs beforehand. Hope all good with you! @Pugprincess I am so impressed with your nursery prep! My little one won't get one til he moves out of our bedroom at 6 months or so as my partner needs to keep his study for the time being to teach from home - which is understandable esp as he's had to bring all his resources, books, and even cupboards and shelves home from school as the school is making it all covid secure!! @DanceM1 so relieved for you all is now looking good and growth scan went well 😊. Love to everyone and will keep you updated! 💙xxx

SkyBlue20 · 03/02/2021 10:59

Oh my gosh, @JennyMY! How exciting! Best of luck with it and can't wait to hear all about it. Will be thinking of you 💕

SkyBlue20 · 03/02/2021 11:09

Morning everyone!

@Lolol86 Sorry to hear about the GD! The good news is that it can be managed but I understand how frustrating and worrying it must be, too. How was your MW appt?

@PugPrincess Great nursery progress and how lovely about the green orbs! Glad your MW appt went well but sorry about the anxiety attack. I too am CONSTANTLY hungry – I have breakfast as soon as I wake up, then a snack around midday, lunch at 1:30ish, a snack at 5ish and dinner at 7ish, I just can’t stop eating! And yes, lots of Lovehearts around that, too (eating one as I type, in fact).

@Threnody What are your reservations about the asprin? Sorry if you’ve already said!

@DanceM1 Glad the growth scan went well, such a relief for you.

@Ew1990 Glad baby’s growth is still following the curve and that you’re getting regular scans.

@Starfish762 I’m glad your MW can see you in person and do a HB check. I’m sure all is absolutely fine – these anterior placentas are a pain in the backside and cushion so much!

Not much to report here, same old, same old really 🤷🏻‍♀‍ 34+4 now and these last few weeks are DRAGGING. I think if the world were normal, it wouldn’t feel as much like a waiting game as could be out seeing people, doing nice things and enjoying our last few weeks alone but with it being as it is, baby is the only thing I really have to focus on so it’s just going really slowly. The thought that it could be another eight weeks is just 😫 Anyone else finding the same?

ew1990 · 03/02/2021 11:21

@skyblue20 I think it's going fast but I think that's Coz we have so much to do before the baby arrives 🙄 carpets being fitted in our room Friday and then the girls rooms being replastered on Saturday.

@jennym ooh exciting our first baby on this thread ❤️❤️
