@JennyMY how exciting. I hope everything goes well. Enjoy meeting your precious bundle ❤

Starfish762 · 03/02/2021 12:04

@SkyBlue20 yes I feel the same, lots of negative/down days - it’s SO monotonous! The uncertainty is the hardest for me personally, like how the F are we still in this mess?! I’m determined to try & stay positive & hopeful but it is hard some days, especially with this rotten weather. WFH with DD here is full on, DH & I super stressed 🤯 He’s booked today off work to get some jobs done in the house, we have so much to do & no spare time. But first world problems of course, we have a lovely home & shouldn’t complain. It’s just unfair we’re all having phantom pregnancies & not seeing anyone 😂🙈 I’m sure by the spring/summer we’ll get to enjoy our mat leaves properly at least 🙏🏼

Workingmama1 · 03/02/2021 12:54

@Starfish762 you've hit the nail on the head with phantom pregnancy! So few people have seen me pregnant. In fact outside of medical staff and my postman I've only seen one friend once and my mum once since October.

Totally know what you mean about time dragging @SkyBlue20, the lack of anything else to occupy yourself with makes it worse. I'm counting down to finishing work but think that mat leave ore baby will be really boring, no pottering round shops, going for coffee ect...

@JennyMY how very exciting! Best of luck for tomorrow.

If we did want to start a WhatsApp group or something to keep in touch once the babies are here we might need to do it soon!

I had a little look over on the conception boards, found our old thread and so pleased to see purplepansy has just had her 12 week scan!

I walked to nursery today for the first time in a couple of weeks, it was really nice to properly get out of the house in the morning, it's like a mini commute!

Lollol86 · 03/02/2021 13:09

@SkyBlue20 midwife went ok, just just said to me to stop worrying about delivery at this stage, but did say it's like an induction at 38 weeks will be recommended. It's really strange to think this baby could be early as my girls were 8 and 12 days late so expected this baby to be late too.

I do think it does feel like having her is ages away though. It seems to be dragging but does seem to have gone quick when you look back, does that make sense?

@JennyMY best of luck for tomorrow ❤️

Pugprincess · 03/02/2021 13:24

Awww @JennyMY that's great news!! Bet you feel in a right whirl wind now lol. Best of luck with the birth will be thinking of you xx

@SkyBlue20 thanks, I feel like I will have a lot of weight to lose after this lol. I managed to get through last night with 3 wake ups, 2 wees and only ate 3 biscuits, not bad for me 😂😂😂

@Starfish762 phantom pregnancy for sure can relate, I dont even know if any of my neighbours have noticed 😂 no one's said anything. Il just appear one day with a screaming baby pushing a pram around 😂😂😂

Threnody · 03/02/2021 13:39

@JennyMY oh, how exciting, good luck!

@SkyBlue20 I've never taken aspirin before, and the midwife said it lowers blood pressure, and I already have a tendency towards low bp, I get faint and dizzy sometimes. And also that I don't really know what it's for. The consultant said it was because I was over 40, and had a previous small baby. But that's not what the guidelines say. The midwife says I don't have to take it, the consultant sent a letter saying I should, so I've asked the midwife if I can talk to the consultant.

@starfish762 yes, I went in for the itching. I had itching at 36 weeks last pregnancy, but blood tests all came back fine. Will wait and see what my results were. The dr said I should carry on using moisturiser, and if my results are ok but the itching stays I may have to have blood tests every couple of weeks.
Phantom pregnancy is about right! I had a meeting with a colleague on Teams, and mentioned to her I would be on maternity leave from May, and she said me too! She's due the day before me, and we never knew - so weird working from home and not seeing people.

@pugprincess sorry you had an anxiety attack. I am always hungry too, trying not too overindulgence too much, but it's hard. Hope you get your chart back. It's worth taking photos of all your notes, as after you have the baby they take them away.

@DanceM1, thanks, yes, lovely to get the reassurance of a nice heartbeat.

@workingmama I am on a couple of Facebook groups for mums from mumsnet groups with my eldest and youngest, and it's lovely to keep in touch and see how all the babies have grown over the years. Would be lovely to keep up with you ladies too. Great news about purplepansy!

No sign of my results yet, if they don't call me by 2, I have to ring them.

SkyBlue20 · 03/02/2021 14:03

@Starfish762 That’s exactly it, it’s monotonous and the uncertainty is what makes it worse - lockdown one was ok, it was new, the weather was decent, we thought we’d do it for a while then everything would be ok but now we’re still here and things feel even worse! Agree that by Spring/Summer we should be able to enjoy it - I think it’ll actually be quite nice to have a few weeks in lockdown where it’s just the three of us getting used to our new life and then hopefully it’ll open up a bit as we’re getting a bit settled! I can’t even imagine WFH with a child, I salute all of you doing it. A phantom pregnancy is so correct - I keep saying a feel like one of those celebrities who disappears for a while and reappears with a child 😂

@Workingmama1 Same - I’m counting down to mat leave but actually unsure as to how I’m going to fill my time as DH will still be working (from home) and we’re trying to isolate as best possible before the big day so wouldn’t really want to meet anyone for a walk or anything. Lots of TV, reading and naps it is I think 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m happy to start a FB group, if everyone’s happy with that? Can make it a private one so others can’t find it.
Fab news about PurplePansy!! 🥰

@Lollol86 Know exactly what you mean - the days are long but the weeks are quick in a way!

@Threnody Ahh sounds confusing! Sounds like a good idea to speak to the consultant about it and see what their reasoning is.

DanceM1 · 03/02/2021 15:28

@Starfish762 thank you! Glad your midwife is going to see you in person. Thats reassuring.

@JennyMY thank you and oh my goodness! Good luck for tomorrow!! So exciting that you will finally meet your beautiful baby 🥰 totally understandable to feel nervous of course but just think you will soon be snuggled up at home with baby!!

@SkyBlue20 thank you! Im not sure its dragging for me that much yet. I think its because we are still getting bits of the house ready so I feel like I need baby to stay in there! Although I know that as soon as the house is sorted I will want baby to be here immediately and time will drag. I mean the pregnancy as a whole has dragged. Ive actually been pregnant now for a year except the month of May so I kinda can't imagine not being pregnant, its really strange!!

Threnody · 03/02/2021 16:18

I rang up for my results, and was told that there were no abnormalities, and because of that they hadn't rung me. Despite being told yesterday that they would ring me either way. Oh well. I wish they'd put my maternity results and things on the NHS app. No idea what happens now, I suppose I'll have to ask my midwife. She's got to be getting sick of me by now! She gave me a number to ring to arrange an appointment with my consultant, so I'll do that tomorrow (my younger two are at nursery so it's much quieter for phone calls!).

NI101 · 03/02/2021 17:48

Thank you to those who shared their experiences of bleeding in early pregnancy.

Unfortunately the bleeding hasnt stopped, It has become darker in colour and leaves spots in a panty liner.

Because of my previous losses, my GP referred me to the early pregnancy clinic for a scan. Unfortunately they couldn’t see anything at this stage which they thought was because Im only 5 weeks in. I also took a blood test which returned -a HCG level of 300. I’ve been asking to come back on Friday for another blood test to see if the HCG is increasing the way it should, or decreasing.

Is 300 a normal level for 5 weeks in? I’m just going over all the small details in my mind giving me a cause for concern. I didn’t see a BFP on my HPT until 13DPO which was very faint. I did a few more tests every 2 days after that to Ensure the line was getting darker.

A part of my wishes I went straight to the Hospital on sunday when I first discovered the blood so that by now I would have answers to whats happening. I feel like I’m on a never ending rollercoaster 😓

Pugprincess · 03/02/2021 18:05

@Threnody thank you for the tip regarding photos of notes as I didn't think of them taking them away after. I will definitely ask about the chart and measurements when I next go as I'd love to know what's happened there. I didn't even see her do it as she had a trainee in who was doing her checks on me so I was distracted lol.

I'm happy to rejoin fb to keep in touch with you all, you have all been a massive support and my rock at times, especially in this climate where contact with other expectant mums isn't allowed in person and especially with ladies who know the anxiety a previous loss brings ❤️

@NI101 I'm so sorry you are having to go through this torture, it's horrible, others have had a lot of proper blood and still theres been a baby at the end of it so try to keep some hope but obviously I understand you don't want to get your hopes up either. I wasn't sure about the hcg so I Googled and it says it can be anything from 18 to 7000 ish at this point so everyone is different. I would keep testing myself to see if the line stays dark or starts to lighten. I used clear blue digital to see the weeks progression after my sticks had got as dark as they could. Obviously the blood test results will be the surefire answer though. I hope and pray this one is clinging on for you xxx

ew1990 · 03/02/2021 19:01

@N101 I don't think it's the number that matters its whether it goes up by 60% every 48 hours, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. ❤️

I'm happy for a Facebook group but I have no clue how to set a private one up, if someone wants to set one up and then we can all inbox them our profile link and they can add us?
I'm happy either way.

Smilingdonkey · 03/02/2021 19:17

Hi everyone ... Once again I have failed to keep updated and now I have missed so much! 7 more days left at work ... I have found going into school a blessing actually - I'm reading be stuck at home with DP WFH and a toddler!

@JennyM1 ... So exciting! Can't wait to hear the news xxxxx

Smilingdonkey · 03/02/2021 19:17

Sorry that was meant to be @jennymy !

Simmy20 · 03/02/2021 20:36

@NI101 I'm sorry to hear you are going through that. The original hcg number this early doesn't tell you much. As ew1990 said it's about whether it goes up or not. Mine started at 190 and then jumped to 3700 a week later. I've got everything crossed for you that it's all OK.

NI101 · 03/02/2021 21:00

@Pugprincess @ew1990 @Simmy20 thank you ladies. I really do appreciate your advice and wishing the best for me. I feel a lot more connected with ladies on this forum than I do with my own family and friends in such times.

I’m currently searching through google results as though they will be able to give me a personalised answer. But really, its a waiting game. Let see what happens on Friday with the second blood test.

@simmy20 - wow! 190 to 3700 in a week. Do you remember how far along you were at this point?

Simmy20 · 03/02/2021 21:11

@NI101 the second one was a 5 weeks. But you can't compare the number that it is, just the jump. You may have ovulated later than you thought and be earlier on than you think. Unfortunately you just have to wait until that second test. It's so hard, I had bleeding with my last mc but I had massive clots in it too. But then some ladies here had clots and heavy bleeding and all is ok. It's so hard with the waiting game as only that hcg level that will tell you at this early stage. Hopefully Friday comes quickly and you get good news

Sakura54 · 04/02/2021 12:20

@JennyMY Wow, good luck! I know your little boy will be perfect. Lucky you don’t have to go through labour. Hope to hear from you soon.

@SkyBlue20 I don’t mind, but isn’t WhatsApp easier to set up and because there’s not that many of us? I don’t mind doing it. Will be interesting to put a face to your names and no more scribbling over photos lol.

@DanceM1 That’s exactly what I was thinking recently - pregnant for one year apart from May. Makes sense seeing as we were on the same pregnancy thread before and now our due dates are close to each other’s.

@Workingmama1 When I saw she was pregnant months ago, I told Purple to join us here once she’s ready, but doesn’t look like she will. Very pleased for her.

Big update again:

Had my 36w appt yday. It was the fourth time seeing this MW but she always asks the same Qs and gives the same reaction when I answer I’ve picked CS. I just repeat myself tediously e.g. no, it’s my second baby; reason for EMCS last time; yes, baby is breech etc. My bump measurement was the same as it was over a month ago and she didn’t plot it, but no concerns as my scan is next week.

So guess what? I finally have my ELCS date - Wednesday 17th February! Had my consultant appt today, which was booked months ago. She wanted to book it for 39w but I said I was told 38w and didn’t know if I’d even make it that far, so we compromised - 38 +3. As much as I’m scared to go into labour before, we need to at least give baby a chance to cook, which is why I’m not pushing for earlier.

She said there was no point doing the consent form until my scan in case of any issues and because I’m planning to be sterilised, that needs to be discussed two times apparently. I requested for an earlier scan due to no increase in bump, but when she measured, it increased by a lot compared to just yesterday! I didn’t bother telling her it was because baby was pushing out and I had had a big breakfast lol. Either way, she agreed to an earlier scan but the best they can do is 2 days earlier, so I’ll have to wait a whole week to finalise everything.

Pugprincess · 04/02/2021 14:37

@Sakura54 ahhh it's all getting very real 😁😁😁😁

Hope @JennyMY is getting on well eeeeek. X

Starfish762 · 04/02/2021 14:47

@Sakura54 oh gosh how exciting!

@Workingmama1 I’m so pleased for purple pansy, she’s been through ringer for years poor thing. I also mentioned this thread but she’s now on an August EDD one & said it’s really active & has recommended to another girl on our old TTC thread who’s also due August, so plenty support for her there. Nice to be at the exact same stage as people too.

Oh wow so @JennyMY is today?! Eeeek I missed that! So much love to you 💙

JennyMY · 04/02/2021 14:54

Our little one is here 😊💙
Arthur Adrian Hughes, 5lb 14oz, and a tiny bundle of cuteness! (37+3)
C section was absolutely fine, had a lovely team in theatre. Only issue was getting the spinal in - took over an hour and 3 positions to get between the knobbles of my spine!!
Covid restrictions mean Daddy has now been sent away for 3 hours til visiting time. 😕
But just so grateful for this little rainbow after a very difficult journey. 💙🥰🌈

JennyMY · 04/02/2021 14:57

Pics 😊 Will get a better view of his face when he lets me stop doing skin to skin 😊💙

Workingmama1 · 04/02/2021 14:59

Oh @jennyMY so happy to check in and see this news! Welcome to the world baby Arthur 🥰😍. Enjoy those newborn snuggles x

SkyBlue20 · 04/02/2021 15:06

Congratulations, @JennyMY!! What a beautiful little boy and a gorgeous name, too. I'm so, SO happy for you, I'm a little bit emotional! Your little rainbow (and the first of many to come on this thread)! Hope you're doing ok and your partner can be back soon. Huge congratulations 🥰
