35w I mean!

I think you are meant to have it by 32 ideally but can have it up to labour beginning x

Simmy20 · 28/01/2021 07:23

Oh wow I've just caught up. A lot going on. It's crazy to read about the covid coming from Australia! I hope you are all safe. The snow also makes me very jealous. It's stinking hot over here. Sorry I'm just on my phone and there was so much for me to reply to everyone individually. It's exciting there are so many of you close to the end though.
I've had my follow up blood test to check hcg. First one was 190 then a week later was 3700 so I'm very happy with that. The last one went from 180 to about 1000 when I ended up with the empty sac. First time I didn't have a follow up check on levels and they didn't tell me my first.
Given I've tested positive for ANA which gives blood clots my dr wants to keep a close eye on me and is getting me in for my first scan on Monday so I will be 5+5. I'm a bit nervous of a scan so early as I don't think there will be much to see but he is the expert. I'm taking asprin as the moment to help keep my blood thin but dr said I may need to take Clexane (a steriod) to help. Has anyone else had to take anything similar?

SkyBlue20 · 28/01/2021 08:59

Morning all! Almost the weekend 🥳

Welcome @NI101, so sorry for your losses and congratulations on your BFP! As the others have said, small milestones were the best way forward - try not to think too far in to the future and just concentrate on what's directly ahead. It won't seem it now but I promise it does go quite quickly.

@DanceM1 Appointment was fine, thank you - in and out super quickly. She didn't have to measure the bump as I'd had a growth scan a couple of days before but otherwise it was just the usual plus she asked me if I'd thought about how I'll feed and my birth plan. She told me about La Leche League as a good BF resource and that's about it really! Hope yours goes well today. 35 weeks, eeeeek! SO close now! Love your wallpaper, too 💕

@Workingmama1 Hope the growth scan goes well. Glad baby has been a wriggler ☺️

@Simmy20 Blood test results sound really positive! Got my fingers crossed that you'll be able to see something on the scan on Monday but try not to worry too much if not - that is still quite early. I'm on aspirin (due to being a FTM and my mum having had pre-eclampsia with me) but can't help on the steroids, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the pelvic pain advice and well wishes, everyone. Had a bit of an uncomfortable night as found a good position to sleep in for my pelvis but then that aggravated my bad knee so I had to keep tossing and turning. It feels much better today - still sore but going up and down the stairs isn't as difficult. I'll just take it easy and hope it eases off in a few days 🤞🏼 Did my yoga in the end - just told the teacher about it first - and it was actually really helpful, it was a very gentle class so just nicely loosened it rather than aggravating it.

Baby is being very quiet this morning but I'm trying to be chill about it as have felt a couple of movements. Since last weekend she's been so active and I've been feeling her so much more, it's really set my mind at ease and has been lovely - much more as I'd expect it to be rather than what I was getting. Perhaps I just wasn't meant to get regular movement until 33 weeks 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 28/01/2021 09:01

Aaaaand right on cue, she's awake and wriggling around 🥰

Simmy20 · 28/01/2021 09:18

@SkyBlue20 glad you are feeling better. Hopefully if you take it easy you will be feeling better soon and get a good night's sleep.

Thanks for the reassurance that it is early for a scan. Just trying to keep my small milestones but it's hard not to worry

JennyMY · 28/01/2021 11:10

@Workingmama1 good luck for your growth scan 🙂 Yes, it's so funny seeing their different movements. Mine was practise breathing this morning and I could literally see him doing it through my belly! I usually just see random moving lumps and wriggles!
@SkyBlue20 That sounds really painful!! I swear everything inside feels more sensitive and prone to pain the further on we get...
Ps like yours, my baby is extremely selective in when/how much he moves. I think he likes his sleep, then makes up for it later! It does make for constant worrying though!
I'm just catching up with everyone's latest news, so much going on! 🙂 sending love to all.
Just over two and a half weeks til I meet my baby boy 😊💙
Xxx

Threnody · 28/01/2021 11:27

Hi ladies, so much to read back on! I had my consultant appointment over the phone. It was difficult as he was a bit shouty and the reception on my mobile isn't great (I always ask people to ring my home number but they never do). He was a bit rude, asked me about having my tubes tied, and I said I didn't want to, and he said it was important when over 40 to have reliable contraception. He's also putting me on aspirin because I'm over 40 and had a previously small baby (only he wasn't that small I don't think and it's never been mentioned before). So I'm not sure about it. He says I'll have to go in for a scan at 28, 32 and 36 weeks for monitoring and we'll decide the elcs date at one of those.

Smilingdonkey · 28/01/2021 13:36

@threnody ... I can't believe he suggested you have your tubes tied? Is it his place to say that?!!
I had my consultant appointment yesterday and was told that the sonographer was wrong to suggest the baby was too big. There seems to be no continuity and so much uneccessary stress is caused but it !

Threnody · 28/01/2021 14:45

@Smilingdonkey My consultant last pregnancy asked me if I was finished having children and if I would like my tubes tied, but when I said no he just dropped it. This guy was a bit rude. I'm wondering whether I can ask for a different consultant.
There is no continuity, it's very stressful isn't it. I wouldn't have said 80th centile is particularly massive. My consultant mentioned my first being a small baby, but that's never come up before, so I'm a bit confused.

So exciting so many of you are packing hospital bags!
I'm very impressed with all of you being so organised with drawer organisers and things. All my things are always just messy and split across several drawers (in different rooms) to fit in.

Re birth plans, I had an epidural with my eldest and wish I hadn't. I got confused and thought the midwife said I had to have it now or not for hours (I was very dehydrated and had been in labour a while), and I'm sure it's why I ended up with an emcs for failure to progress. It is definitely worth being prepared for all possibilities, and make sure your birthing partner knows what you want so they can help advocate when you're a bit occupied. Also my first I found the gas and Air made me feel really sick, so with my second I was reluctant to try it, but it was great that time.

@rosiejess glad your dad is home! How is he feeling? Not sure about the tummy time for your son.

@DanceM1 we are busy clearing out to try to make space too. I've never heard that about movements, I think I'd be wary about that if I wasn't getting any other movements to be honest.

@Pugprincess sounds like the nursery is really coming on, how exciting. Love the snow mama pic!

@ workingmama sorry you had reduced movements again, and that the dr was rubbish. Glad the midwife sorted him out and they are keeping an eye on you. How are you tracking movements? I've not had much movement today, but I'm only 21 weeks so I don't think they do anything. Going to have a rest and a cold drink to see if I can wake him up. If you're worried, go in is always the best plan, the worst that can happen is nothing - midwives would rather see you for nothing than not see you and something be wrong.

@Lu91 lovely scan pic! See what the next measurement is, they're not always very accurate at measuring.

@skyblue20 lovely that your mum got to go to your scan. We got given a piece of paper for the front of our notes to write our birth partner on, and they're the only one allowed into scans. Sorry you've hurt yourself.

@NI101 congratulations on your bfp! I think we've all spent our pregnancies worrying, as others have said little milestones, one day at a time.

@Simmy20 blood results sound good.

@Sakura54 sorry you had reduced movements too, glad they were nice at triage and all was ok.

@bubblybon ooh, thanks for reminding me I need to book my whooping cough vaccination. I hope you manage to get booked in soon.

DanceM1 · 28/01/2021 19:15

@SkyBlue20 glad it went well! I had my appointment today and also wasn't measured because I have a growth scan on Tuesday. There were traces of protein in my urine which worried me a bit but she said it was only traces and blood pressure was fine so she wasn't worried. I mentioned swelling in my ankles and she had a look and said oh no thats fine its not much. Since then my feet have gone HUGE so I'm a little worried but.. I have spent a long time just standing around today so I've got my feet up now hoping the swelling will go down🙏🤞

Baby also seems slightly quieter today but has been moving on and off all day.. im hoping he/she will have a really wriggly time after I've eaten just to doubly reassure me!

@Threnody I love a clear out but hate that I'm between stage when the house is just upside down 🤣

Workingmama1 · 28/01/2021 20:49

Had my growth scan and all was looking good, baby is 2lb15 and I'm 30 weeks tomorrow. Yet again the reviewing doctor was clueless and had to ask the midwife what to do about the fact baby is still breech, midwifes have said plenty of time yet to turn and it will be reviewed later.

@Threnody at 21 weeks baby's can get into alsorts of positions making them harder to feel, I so try not to worry too much.

@jennyMY thats crazy you are so close now! I can't remember are you having a section and have a set date?

@Simmy20 sounds positive about your high rising like it is!

NI101 · 28/01/2021 20:53

Thank you everyone for your kind words and advice. I am trying to focus on each day as a win and really celebrate at end of every week.

I’ve been doing some research in private scans and there is a good clinic not too far from me. I’d like to wait until the heartbeat can be seen/heard. So I guess I will have to wait til 6-7weeks.

It is reassuring reading how you ladies are getting on after overcoming the challenges Of TTC.

Sending you all lots of love x

JennyMY · 29/01/2021 13:28

@Workingmama1 Yes, I am scheduled for a c section on 16th at 39 weeks. This is mainly because of my complicated situation with the twin who died at 18 weeks but I couldn't deliver because of the healthy baby. Its a strange position to be in and I feel happier with the idea of a c section. My hospital has just appointed a new bereavement midwife (there hasn't been one for the last year) so I met her last week and she is very supportive.

PS ref your little one being breech, my baby has flipped from head down to breech and then back again in the last few weeks! There's still time! Xx

JennyMY · 29/01/2021 13:29

@NI101 Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck for your scan when you have it. ❤️xx

DanceM1 · 29/01/2021 14:51

Hi everyone, I'm having a worry day!!

Yesterday midwife said there were traces of protein in my urine but my blood pressure was fine. However, having looked through my notes, it was quite high for me. Also, she asked about swelling and I said about thinking I have carpal tunnel and swollen ankles. She looked at my ankles and said they were fine but last night my feet were absolutely huge! They came down a lot over night and I've said with them up on cushions all day but they're still swollen and went huge instantly when I went to make lunch. Also, if I press on the swelling it leaves behind an indentation.

I've called the midwife and she was really nice and said im probably OK to wait until my growth scan on Tuesday but if it gets worse or if it doesn't come down over night then phone triage. She mentioned baby's movements and now Im also worried that baby is moving slightly less but I dont know if this is even true or if I'm just worrying!! Baby has been wriggling but I tend to have some days that are slightly quieter and this is possibly one of them. Now I'm just generally worrying!!

JennyMY · 29/01/2021 15:10

@DanceM1 Sorry to hear about your worrying day. Personally I would trust my instincts and phone triage or go to A&E - it's probably fine but with the best of intentions sometimes things are missed and I wouldn't take any chances.
Xx

DanceM1 · 29/01/2021 15:16

@JennyMY thank you!! After posting that baby is having a really good wriggle about so thats already made me feel a bit better. My husband has also just checked my blood pressure and it is much lower than yesterday. That's of course if his monitor is working properly! Swelling has gone down slightly so I'm going to see how I get on xx

JennyMY · 29/01/2021 15:28

@DanceM1 That's really good to hear. Nothing more reassuring than feeling baby having a wriggle! Good to know your BP is down too - at least you've given your midwife the heads up 🙂 Xx

SkyBlue20 · 29/01/2021 16:07

Afternoon ladies!

@Threnody How rude of your consultant! What business is it of his if you wanted to have kids until the very last day Mother Nature will allow, even?! Your body, your choice!

@Workingmama1 Glad the scan went well! Sorry you had a rubbish doctor again - doesn't fill you with confidence, does it?!

@JennyMY I'm so sorry to hear of everything you went through with the twin - I didn't realise it was so far along and the complications it brought, that must have been awful. Glad the bereavement midwife is good and that you're comfortable with the c-section. Not long until you get to meet your little one 🥰

@DanceM1 Glad you've had a bit of reassurance, keep an eye on it and if anything, call triage - they'd much rather see you than not and it's worth it for your peace of mind if nothing else.

Happy almost the weekend, ladies - another week closer to meeting our little ones. Four weeks left in work now 😱 xx

bubblybon20 · 29/01/2021 20:13

@DanceM1 glad baby has reassured you slightly!

@JennyMY not long for you, sorry for everything you've been through! ❤️

Can you believe, it's only 29 days until my due date! It's going to seem so surreal on Monday once we hit February!
I personally feel January is the slowest month ever, but it's actually gone quite quickly! Considering we've not been allowed to do anything 😂

DanceM1 · 30/01/2021 12:34

@Workingmama1 sorry I was so busy worrying yesterday I never said I'm pleased your scan went well! My baby was breech around that time I think but they're head down now. I was also told there is loads of time for them to turn. My baby is back to back now still though and my lower back is really aching!

@jennyMY so pleased that you've been introduced to such a supportive midwife and how lovely that its sooo close to you meeting your baby 🥰🥰🥰

@JennyMY @SkyBlue20 @bubblybon20 thanks so much! Baby has been wriggling a normal amount i think?! And the swelling in my feet has gone right down today- the midwife said if they didn't go down over night then that would be the time to worry.. luckily they did! Havent checked my blood pressure yet today but I will for piece of mind.

Our travel system arrived yesterday and we've put the pram up. I love it 😍 Feel like we are very slowly getting more organised for baby!

Has everyone actually written a birth plan? I am going to do one but haven't so far. Was hoping the midwife would answer some questions first on Thursday but when I said I had a few questions for her she just said oh there's loads of information in the back of your green notes 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was wanting to ask more specific questions about my hospital. Hoping at my next appointment at 37 weeks I'll have a more chatty midwife. If not I might call my named one as she has been really lovely the two times I have called her.

Sakura54 · 30/01/2021 14:27

@bubblybon20 Crazy, right? Where did the time go? Many of us will be having babies around the same time, exciting!

I’m around the week I had DS and I think there is seriously no room in there now. Baby keeps pushing out even more making my stomach feel so tight and achy, as well as having aches down below. Look where the head is in the pic.

DH still hasn’t been contacted to self isolate yet even though it’s been days since he saw his colleague. It’s not like he’s been going anywhere anyway and no symptoms, but back to work next week. He didn’t get a test this time, however our household were selected to join a Covid research thing where they go to your house to swab you and do antibody blood tests. Either way both of us will be getting tested again at the hospital before giving birth.

Both my parents have been vaccinated now due to age and/or job. I was able to book instant appointments and close to their house so that’s one less thing to worry about.

bubblybon20 · 30/01/2021 14:39

@Sakura54 it really is! Starting to get more real every week, I think it's making me nervous that he literally could arrive anytime, and hopefully would be fine with no extra help needed!

I think it's crazy when you get limbs or in your case the head poking out, makes me go all goosebumpy 😂😂😫 especially when the roll the limbs!

ew1990 · 30/01/2021 15:51

Oh there's so much to catch up on, I'm going to have a read through now, I'm just at traige waiting to be checked out I've fell down the stairs top to bottom, went down on my back but I'm rhesus negative blood so have to have the anti d injection. Babies moved since it happened but I don't know whether they will monitor her or not.

bubblybon20 · 30/01/2021 15:53

Omg @ew1990 hope you're okay!
