Hope everyone had a nice weekend & is doing okay. I’m determined to stay positive this week after letting the 300 mile distance from my family affect me, thank god for skype! No more news & no more negativity, bye bye! 🥊😂

Bought one of these tees for myself in 2017 when DD was born & it’s such lovely quality! I couldn’t resist getting them both one to match, after always saying I’d never be ‘one of those mums’ 😂 But DD is so excited for the 3 of us 💗

Wow I'm all caught up, sorry I've been quiet on here seems that my notifications have stopped again and before I knew it more time had passed than I thought!

So lovely to see more new people joining and hitting the milestones. Also the nursery's are looking so lovely ours has started but seems that there's so much to do before we start painting 🙈

29 weeks now which feels great she's kicking away a lot, with my last app with the midwife she had no concerns at all however I do think she's measuring above average going off my chart. Also had a 4d scan yesterday which was just amazing.

Hope you're all doing okay in these strange times. I just keep trying to think positive and thinking of our babies that will soon be here 🥰

Aww congratulations @Lu93 the scan picture is beautiful 🥰 I wouldn't worry too much about your growth chart! I dont think the measuring tape is very accurate anyway.

I'm really frustrated because we were going to wallpaper the nursery today but the decorating table we were borrowing won't even stand up 🤣 so have to wait til another arrives on Thursday.. I know its only a few days but its just putting everything else on hold..cot still in box, drawers etc..nowhere to put baby's things. Also pram and travel set are arriving thurs or Friday so we need space for them too!

But I dont mean to moan.. baby has been having a good old wriggle again today and I just love it. I've washed loads of baby clothes too.. its just too perfect seeing them hanging up to dry 🥰 just can't wait for baby to arrive!!

Workingmama1 · 25/01/2021 19:01

Aww lovely picture @lu93, was ut a private scan? We have one booked next week not realising I'd end up with a growth scan this week!

My monitoring went well today, met the criteria in 10 minutes! Then the midwife said she doesnt think I need daily monitoring until my scan on Thursday, had to wait for a doctor to ok it (another hours wait!) who when they came she just said yes you scan looks fine you can go (looking at my scan from 2 weeks ago) and I had to explain why she was seeing me 🙈

@RosieJess91 I've started nesting i think, I'm not sure if my sudden urge to dust everything is as we are still dusty from the building work before Christmas or if I'm nesting! I fought an urge the entry and clean the fridge yesterday as I knew I'd be in pain if I did!

Lu93 · 25/01/2021 21:09

Thank you I can't stop watching our video of her, Aw that's frustrating about the paste table. I feel so useless at the minute there's like 5 layers of paint in our spare room that's going to be the nursery I've been sanding a bit but it's so much easier with the electric one but the dust is awful and my husbands told me not to do it for obvious reasons but it's so frustrating that he's out at work and I'm furloughed at home just feeling useless!

Yeah @Workingmama1 I booked it for my husband for Christmas (one of those presents that was secretly for me) 😅 it was at window to the womb really recommend. Even more of a bonus that you'll get to see baby again! It's incredible what they can see and the detail! Xx

SkyBlue20 · 25/01/2021 21:11

Evening all!

@JoJo58995 That’s exactly how I feel about movements! She’s been much more active and regular the last few days, which is lovely, but guarantee she’ll have a couple of quiet days again soon and it’ll send me haywire! It’s so tough, isn’t it?!

@Pugprincess Fab snowwoman 😂

@RosieJess91 Try not to worry (easier said than done) and maybe bring your concerns up with your midwife, she might be able to advise? Even IF baby came now, the odds are still so good for them at this stage - my friend had her little boy at 32 weeks, he was in NICU for maybe four days and then home and is now six months and thriving 🥰 Sure all will be ok though xx

@Starfish762 Love those tees! Also love the matching - fully intend on it for baby girl and I 😂 Must be so hard to be so far from your family, you’re very strong xx

@Lu93 Lovely scan pic! I wouldn’t worry too much about the bump measurement - I was plotting at 10th centile but growth scan showed baby at 50-60th!

@DanceM1 I think I’d be equally annoyed about having to wait for the table! Will be here before you know it though ☺️ I also can’t wait for baby to arrive, I feel like we’re in limbo now, just counting down. It’s weird as feel like we should be enjoying our last few weeks baby free but obviously there’s nothing we can do so we’re just sitting at home working, eating, watching tv or doing NCT and that’s it, so feel like it’s just making me want time to go faster than I would be if the world were normal.

@Workingmama1 Glad monitoring went well! The docs really aren’t sounding great though!

Had my growth scan tonight, DH is doing a Zoom work meeting thing he couldn’t get out of so my mum (support bubble) came with and got to see baby, which was nice for her! Everything was perfect, very happy. My growth chart has definitely jumped though! My midwife is going to have a lot of reading to do when I see her on Wednesday - I’ve been to the hospital three times since I last saw her two weeks ago! 😂🙈

Pregnant After MMC - Thread 5
RosieJess91 · 25/01/2021 23:44

That's good to know, thank you @skyblue20. One of my old friends had her son at 25 weeks, and he was in NICU for 2 months and was thriving so much he went home. So I know it is possible to be okay. Still prefer him to stay in for a few more weeks though!!

So after finding out I was anaemic at 25 weeks, I was put on B12 supplements and iron tablets, was supposed to have a blood test 2 weeks later to see if they were working, but didn't because I got Covid. So they saw me today, almost exactly 5 weeks later, took bloods today and I've already had the results back. I'm still anaemic, and still at such a low level they want me to start having injections and they want to do a study to find out why it's still so bad.

I don't understand though, all the dizziness and horrible feelings gone, so I thought they were working. But I suppose with how rubbish I felt with Covid, maybe the anaemia just didn't feel as bad?! So confused... why does pregnancy hate me so much? 😂😫😂

RosieJess91 · 26/01/2021 14:49

After my long crazy message last night, my midwife has now said she doesn't think I need any injections because my iron levels are at 107, which is perfect for this point in pregnancy and there was nothing wrong with my B12 levels at all. (So that's good to know!)

However, my doctor still wants to argue about it, because although they're good, I've got a heart condition and maybe they need to be better.

So confused. Why can't they just be easy and work together?! Blimey...

Had my weekly phone call with my son's school today, and his teacher wants me to tummy time with him. So I had to explain that at 31 weeks pregnant, I couldn't get down on the floor to do that. So I've left him colouring in on his tummy, apparently it will build up his muscles to hold a pen properly?? Seems mad to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ can any teacher step in and explain this to me? He's 4 and still holds a pen in his fist.

DanceM1 · 26/01/2021 15:48

@SkyBlue20 such a pain! But hopefully by the weekend wallpaper, cot and drawers will be up 🤞 great news about your growth scan. Im glad it went well 😊

@Lu93 I know what you mean about feeling useless.. I ask my husband to do something and I'm dying to just get it done myself because its usually easier 🤣

@RosieJess91 that sounds ridiculous that you're being told such different things! Sounds like good news really. I think often the midwives know better than the doctors ha! Unfortunately I can't help with the tummy time thing sorry. Im at the wrong end of the school to know something like that but she must have been given advice to suggest that so I would give it a go! However strange it may seem 🤣

@Pugprincess That’s a great pic. A nice memory for you. We didn’t get that much snow here and it melted quickly.

@SkyBlue20 I also feel like I’m just waiting for baby to arrive now. They are going to be here before we know it. Will be interesting to see how close you all get to the due date and hear everyone’s birth stories.

Big update from me:

  • I found out my next scan is when I’m 37+6, what’s the point? I tried to change it to earlier but that’s the only one they had and it’s on a Saturday so already classed as an emergency slot as it is.
  • So first I joined the Growth Scan Club and now I’m in the Triage Club lol. I was worried I was going to go into labour as yesterday, I felt a bit of leaking, a more achy belly as well as pressure down below all day. I think because I was wary of my waters breaking, I then realised baby wasn’t moving (usually I feel it all the time if I concentrate) so I pushed the head and shook her body a few times but maybe she was sleeping as I only got a small kick in response. Sure enough when I went to bed, my bladder got it’s usual battering lol.

Anyway I decided to monitor the leaking overnight and went to triage today. I was seen straightaway, swabs done to check discharge and movements monitored. Luckily I had my growth scan last week so they didn’t have to be concerned about baby size and amount of fluid etc as my fundal height got even smaller, believe it or not. Turns out the leaking was just increased discharge which I already suspected. TBH if it wasn’t for my risk of premature labour, I wouldn’t have gone, but I really couldn’t take any chances. I even slept on a towel just in case! The staff were nice and said I did the right thing coming in given my history.

  • DH may have to self isolate again because his colleague got a positive result. When we found out, he was already with us at my parents’ house so he’s just going to continue staying here as opposed to going to our house alone like last time. Him and some others are on A/L this week anyway so that’s a waste for those that have to isolate.

I can’t even be bothered to care anymore TBH, because what can I do when he still has to go to work? I’m already nervous about the uncertainty and possibility of giving birth any day now, so don’t want extra to think about. Just hoping we don’t end up catching it and that he’s not isolating when baby comes. On a more positive note, my parents should be getting vaccinated soon.

bubblybon20 · 26/01/2021 20:04

@Sakura54 what a stress for you!
Glad everything is all okay, I would have done the same given your risk of premature labour!
In your cases it's keeping her in there a long as possible, hopefully she does!
It is scary to think when we'll all have the babies, I was reading the other February forum and one women has given birth already! Think she was due next week/week after, which Just makes it scary to think how close it is now! 😫

Pugprincess · 27/01/2021 03:55

@Starfish762 aww cute Tshirts 😁

@lu93 lovely 4d scan image ❤️ excited for ours on Feb 6th 😁

@DanceM1 frustration 😩 I know the feeling, my draw organiser still hasn't arrived 😅 I've opened a case on ebay and got to wait and see if it comes by the 28th. Feel like sticking with amazon for things I want quickly in future 🙄

@SkyBlue20 thank you 😂 had to be done lol. Glad your measurements are looking good and it shows how innacute the tape measure can be doesn't it.

@RosieJess91 I've not heard of that tummy time thing for pencil holding. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a thing though. I've heard big movements with the arms can help and things like dough gym exercises (youtube) can help build strength in the hands and fingers improving fine motor skills. What does he do if you make him hold it correctly? You could always Google some ideas too if you want to try other things. Hope that helps x

@Sakura54 thank you and bless you have had a stressful time, glad it was discharge and that baby is well 😊 Fingers crossed dh will be OK, you definitely don't want all that getting closer to due date 😩

@bubblybon20 bless you, I'm not ready yet either, want to do a course related to labour and I need maternity nighties and pack hospital bags lol. Better buy nappies soon, can you believe our aldi do nappies and wipes but no nappy sacks in store 🤔

I'm feeling more actual movement now as in I've seen my belly starting to do very slight alien type movements 😂 think I felt something hard near belly button, no idea what body part lol. Missed my 28 week midwife app as I rescheduled for Monday as the snow and ice was too bad here for me to drive. However I did make it to hospital on my own Tuesday for my anti d injection and blood test 😊 walking from car to hospital was scary in the ice though. Been staying in and not walking my dog as I dont want to slip over, it's melted now thankfully. Dh has some work to do in nursery next couple of nights to prepare him for putting coving up on Saturday. Should have some white washed walls soon 😁 Meanwhile I need to apply for maternity allowance but work are dragging their feet to give me the refusal of SMP form I need 😩 I've emailed so many times since last week so il have to ring and even get the head teacher involved if they don't sort it soon. My friends work did the same and she was without mat pat for awhile but got it back dated. We have decided to try and live this month purely on dh wages to see if we can do it (bad time really as he wants stuff from b and q for nursery and carpet/wallpaper will still need to be ordered) but I suppose if we can manage even with those expenses on top then we will be ok. It's cause my mat pay won't be loads and obvs when it stops il have nothing so it will give me an idea if I NEED to go back to some sort of part time work after. I want a full year off which means last 3 months no pay anyway so we will be tested then but the planner side of me wants to try it now financially and that way I can save my wages up incase mat pay is delayed 😁 let's see 😂

SkyBlue20 · 27/01/2021 09:53

Morning everyone! How are we?

@RosieJess91 Gosh you're really going through the mill! Glad the doc and midwife are on top of it though and you're being looked after. Have you had any more tightenings or anything?

@Sakura54 Sounds like you did the sensible thing by going in, always better safe than sorry. Sorry to hear your DH is having to isolate, too - hopefully it'll be done by the time you go in to labour and all will be fine.

@Pugprincess How frustrating about your work being so slow with everything! Sounds like a good idea trying to live off DH's wage for a month. We have a really complicated set up in that I'm self employed and DH is employed part-time on a fixed contract basis and does freelance work around that. My salary usually pays the monthly expenses and we use his contract and freelance pay for everything else, as it can be sporadic. So, we've been saving right the way through this and last pregnancy to try and make it so that we'll still have my regular salary 'coming in' (from our savings). We've still got a small way to go, which we can do during my mat leave but the planner in me wants it all sorted now! I've said that after this baby, we're going to just start saving a bit every month towards a potential next baby though, as trying to do it so intensively is hard!! SMP/MA is so low, isn't it?! Though I know we're lucky to get as much as we do - I was reading up on other countries and their mat pay the other day and surprisingly, we are actually one of the best!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I have my 34 week MW appt at lunch and Zoom pregnancy yoga tonight, followed by our last NCT session tomorrow (which I'm actually a bit sad about!) - that's about as busy as I get outside of work nowadays 😂

RosieJess91 · 27/01/2021 10:38

@skyblue20 loads. They don't seem to stop. I get at least one an hour, but they've told me to only worry if they're 5 minutes apart or longer than 40 seconds. Every one who has seen me or I've sent a bump pic to, are convinced I've only got weeks left. My bump has dropped and I feel like it's almost deflated slightly, because I can see my feet again! So now the family are putting bets on which week they think I'll make it to.

Thank you @pugprincess I will look those up! When we give him a pencil in the correct way, he starts writing and then all of a sudden says he can't do it, and puts it back in his fist. We've tried the sock puppet trick, but he hated that. Will look at exercises, etc!

We had barely any snow down here, was all melted by about midday, very rubbish, my son was quite disappointed!! But it meant I was safe to get to my GP surgery when I needed to. 😊

31 weeks today! Down into the single figures!!

bubblybon20 · 27/01/2021 16:42

Has anyone else not had the whooping cough vaccine? 36 weeks Saturday and can't seem to get a booking for one 😫😫

SkyBlue20 · 27/01/2021 17:04

@RosieJess91 Hopefully you'll last the next five or six weeks - the same friend who had baby at 32 weeks actually had her waters break at 26ish weeks and baby stayed in for a while so hope similar (without the waters breaking!) happens for you 🤞🏼

@bubblybon20 Oh no! Surely they should prioritise you?!

I've gone and injured myself and am in agony! Was bringing the bins in (so glam) and one got wedged so I shoved it with my foot to try and get it where it should be and it has given me an awful pain really low down in my pelvis! 😫 I've felt a bit like I've been kicked down there for a few weeks now and this just seems to have set something off. I'm limping around and going up and down the stairs is agony. Reading up it seems like it could be PGP but also feels like I might have just pulled something? Annoyingly I had just got home from my midwife appointment so won't see her for another two weeks now but if still in agony tomorrow, I'll call my GP. I have Zoom yoga booked tonight and can't decide whether it will be good or bad for it?!

bubblybon20 · 27/01/2021 17:48

@SkyBlue20 she said nurses have rang in sick so there's a back log, I don't even know when the limit is for it 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Oh no! Nothing worse than pain in your pelvis, it's tender anyway with carrying a baby around. Hope it heals for you soon! Maybe try a hot water bottle?

NI101 · 27/01/2021 17:59

Hi Ladies,

I’m moving over from the pregnancy loss thread over to this thread.

I’ve been TTC coming upto a year. Ive had 2 losses in 2020. The first was a CP the second ended in MMC at 9.5weeks.

Last weekend I got my BFP at 12DPO which makes me 4w2d today and cant seem to shake off the fears. I’m over the moon that I’m pregnant but am also scared that I will lose it like previous times.

Any tips on how to relax? Im sure the stress is doing no good to me or the baby.

Pugprincess · 27/01/2021 18:47

@SkyBlue20 yeah it's not the best pay but worth having something coming in I suppose. Wow your situation does sound complex. Hope you feel less achey, take it easy. X

@RosieJess91 aw let me know how he gets on, you can buy chunky pencils and special grips to help too. Sounds like he finds it uncomfortable so finger and hand exercises would help to strengthen his hands. If he has playdough at home YouTube dough gym and there is usually songs/videos that encourage them to pinch/stretch/roll/prod etc the playdough.

@bubblybon20 I wonder if hospital could provide the jab? I had mine done at hospital. X

@NI101 congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope its 3rd tume lucky for you. Advice, we usually say take each day one at a time and have little milestones to work towards. Lots of us had regular private scans early on for some reassurance too. X

DanceM1 · 27/01/2021 19:29

@Sakura54 sorry you've joined the triage club but really pleased that everything was ok!

@Pugprincess that sounds really frustrating! Our table actually arrived this morning a day early so wallpaper is up yeyyyyy!!! Going to get the cot and drawers up tomorrow. Also got lots of baby clothes washed and ready to be put away once drawers are done.

@SkyBlue20 did your appointment with the midwife go well? Sorry about the pelvic pain.. that doesn't sound fun!

@bubblybon20 that sounds annoying. Could they let you get it at another local surgery if there is a time limit on it? I had mine ages ago.. was actually worried I had it too early!

Congratulations @NI101 lovely news! Its so hard to relax.. I still worry now at 35 weeks but yes I agree that little milestones help and for me, scans got me through. It doesn't take the worry away completely but it helped me get through the earlier days. Had my first one at 8 weeks then every 2 weeks (inc NHS 12 wk one) until 14 weeks.. and I've still had a few since then. Its not cheap!! But it helped me.

Got my midwife appointment tomorrow that should have been last week when I was in triage. Ill be 35 weeks exactly. Im going to ask about birth plan and rules on partners in hospital etc. 35 weeks suddenly seems much closer to birth than 34 weeks!!!😬😬😬😬

Pugprincess · 27/01/2021 19:46

Wow @DanceM1 you are full term in two weeks 😁 this is crazy. Be lovely to see pics of your decorating 😊 My draw organiser did arrive today finally nearly a week late lol, so drawers are all sorted. My next task is to wash the coverings of bouncers and moses basket etc we have been given. My brother asked if there was anything we need so I've sent him links for new moses basket matress, sheets and some swaddling type velcro sleeping things for 0 to 3 months so going to try those. I still need Co sleeper sheets but waiting until nursery is more done so we have somewhere to set it up and store it, then I can measure matress and check what size sheets I need as I have no idea lol. X

DanceM1 · 27/01/2021 21:06

@Pugprincess I know! Completely mental!!
I've attached a picture of the wallpaper

Pregnant After MMC - Thread 5
Workingmama1 · 27/01/2021 21:21

@SkyBlue20 oh no! You might have pulled something, that's what I did 2 weeks ago and it's still sore! I found anything that made it hurt made it worse (as in it would hurt more afterwards and for the rest of the day). If it continues to hurt the physio said to me to skip most of the exercises I'd been doing for pgp as they irritated it and focus on pelvic floor and deep pelvic floor engagement.

@RosieJess91 hopefully baby stays nice and snug for a while!

@bubblybon20 have you tried your day unit for the whooping cough vaccine? I managed to get mine while I was there the other day.

@ni101 welcome! Little milestones are what got my through, week by week, then appointment or scan ect.

I have my growth scan tomorrow so hopefully that goes well. Lots of movement again today so I'm hoping he is doing ok in there. Its mad how different movement feels on different days. I got my yoga ball down from the loft today, it was as comfy as I remembered so I'm back on the sofa!

Smilingdonkey · 27/01/2021 23:27

@bubblybon20 I haven't ... Tried the other day but they wouldn't let me because I'm on antibiotics for a UTI (again 🙄) ... I'm nearly 36w 😬😬
