@Poppy10121 @Sakura54 thank you. Ive not had any more spotting today and praying I dont get any more!!🙏🙏

@Smilingdonkey thats exactly how I'm feeling and my bump has changed too. They said yesterday that baby is head down still but yeah.. feels very low. Its becoming less comfortable to walk now. Love your bump pic, I keep forgetting to take them so will have to do one tomorrow!! Let us know how your growth scan goes and what they say about baby's position 😊

ew1990 · 22/01/2021 21:48

@dancem1 glad you've had no more bleeding, try and take it easy x

bubblybon20 · 22/01/2021 22:20

Love the bump pics @Workingmama1 & @Smilingdonkey
I feel as though my bumps dropped too, my pelvic joint if that's what it's called is in agony! 😫
I did walk 4 miles the other day with the boys, but don't think it was that! Literally so tender. Think it's slight SPD! 😫😫😫

Pugprincess · 23/01/2021 04:11

Hi once again I typed a long msg and lost it all 😔 congratulations on your scans @Threnody and @daisyhrl great milestones achieved 😁

@DanceM1 I'm wondering as they didng find a cause if you had like a burst blood vessel just inside but not beyond the cervix if that makes sense, lots more blood flow down there so I think it's possible. X

I can't remember what else I typed now 😩 oh yes @Smilingdonkey looks like bump has defo dropped, hopefully baby is getting is it engaged? Ready for when they come. And lovely bump pic @Workingmama1 ❤️

Well I have officially reached the 3rd trimester 😁 I have a midwife app on Monday so Im guesting she will measure me. I will check my list of routine apps to see when next one is @Poppy10121, curious if its like yours.

Dh is hanging the new doors upstairs tomorrow and finishing attaching skirting in the nursery 😊 we also have a coving delivery coming tomorrow which he will put up next week I think. Meanwhile I'm off to collect bits socially distanced from my brother, see how much I can fit in car this trip as it may have to spread to two trips so one another day as he's quite far from me. He's hopefully got a jumperoo, changing table, cot and I've asked him to see if he has a playmat to save me buying one, oh and moses basket, he's going to load car for me and dh can empty when I get back. I'm always curious as to if any of my neighbours have spotted I'm preg yet lol, winter is a funny time as its so hidden, we haven't told any of them. Be funny if come April I'm pushing a pram about and they will be like huh when was she preg lol. X

SkyBlue20 · 23/01/2021 07:32

Congratulations, @Threnody! Glad all is looking well 🥰

@Sakura54 Your bump looks lovely! It is weird that they plotted it as high when measuring as it’s definitely not on the bigger side! Those charts are so inaccurate, aren’t they?!

@Smilingdonkey Another lovely bump!

@bubblybon20 I keep getting pain down there, too, it’s not continuous and it’s not too bad but it feels like someone has punched me and is just a bit uncomfortable really. Hoping it’s not the start of worse to come 🤞🏼

Happy third trimester, @Pugprincess! 🥳 I was thinking the same about our neighbours. We told one set of them, who we’re quite friendly with, when they came to pick up a parcel but we have a new neighbour in the house attached to ours who we haven’t met yet. He’s going to hate when he does meet us and realises there’s going to be a screaming baby - or we won’t meet him beforehand and one day he’ll just hear her 😂🙈 We did put a Christmas card through and he sent one back but it’s just a bit awkward now - we don’t really want to go knock on with covid around as you just don’t know how comfortable people are with things like that! Hopefully we’ll just bump in to him soon but we’re rarely outside so it’s unlikely!

Any nice weekend plans? I need to do boring things like clean the house today then tomorrow we have another four hours of NCT followed by my monitoring at the hospital. I’ve got my scan on Monday evening - DH can’t come as he has a big work thing on (online) but it’ll be fine, I’m used to doing these things alone by now!
33 weeks today! 🥳 App says I shouldn’t get much bigger now, which is nice to know - things are beginning to get a bit difficult now, lots of huffing and puffing when I try to get out of bed or anything! 🙈

Pugprincess · 23/01/2021 09:04

@SkyBlue20 thank you! I feel you on the breathlessness and I'm having to use my hands to push myself up from sitting. Putting shoes and socks on is getting ever more challenging. If covid wasn't around I would so book myself in for a pedicure right now! I've been cleaning alot, some of its boredom and some of it is nesting I think.

Hoping my drawer organiser arrives today as its already 2 days late, would like to sort the 0 to 3 out. I only have blankets and towels left to wash. My top drawer is looking much fuller though, for the tiny/newborn and first size. Not sure if I already uploaded the other image but 2 packs of lanisoh breast pads fit perfectly in this basket. Determined not to have too much stuff cluttered about and want to store things away so it still sort of looks like my home lol. Apart from the big baby toys of course. I'm not buying a highchair until they are here and ready for it. Smyths do a wicked one though that changes into a chair for use up to age 5. X

Just packed the baby hospital bag, just need to work on my own now! Wouldn't normally be prepared this early, but people keep commenting that my bump has dropped and after the contractions the other day, might be good to be better prepared!! My OH keeps commenting that I'm tidier than normal, so maybe that's nesting? Might be more me panicking thinking I don't have as long as I thought I did!

Loving all the bump and scan pics! All so exciting 💗

Good news - my mum is picking up my dad from the hospital as I type!! Phew!

DanceM1 · 23/01/2021 16:24

@ew1990 thank you!

@Pugprincess is that possible? I would love to think it was just something like that! Also, you've made me want drawer organisers now. Going to have to get some!

@SkyBlue20 is tomorrow the last of your NCT?

We are spending another weekend with my husband painting the house and me sorting through loads of stuff that we need to just get rid of because we have no room for! We wanted to wallpaper baby's room but the pasting table won't arrive until Thursday annoyingly. Means we can't put the cot up or the drawers or put any of baby's things away so everywhere is still a mess 🙈

@RosieJess91 amazing news about your dad 🥰 I was also going to pack my hospital bag today but have a few things still on the way so may leave it a couple of days or just make a start!

Smilingdonkey · 23/01/2021 16:29

@rosiejess91 I just went to superdrug and bought most of the bits for the bag too. Last night I had awful period cramps and back pain and it freaked me out! We don't even have moses basket here and only 3 baby grows (The rest was all stored at my parents' after DD so it's not too bad!)
I feel a bit better now. At least if I need to go to hospital I have some bits to take with me. I need to get the food and lucozade sorted too ... essentials!

I had my growth scan and they announced she was massive and said I have to have another GTT test ... Then when I looked at the notes she is 5lb 13 and about 80th centile 🤷 My app says at 34 weeks she should be 5lbs too - so she doesn't seem that big to me???
I had a similar thing with my DD and she was 8lb 10 at 42+2 so big yes but hardly montsterous! She was blocking the view of the fibroids so couldn't get much more info on that. Still was nice to see her and check all was well after the horrid cramps last night.

Xxx

bubblybon20 · 23/01/2021 19:35

@Smilingdonkey I wouldn't class that as big, I'm 35 weeks today and my scan from Tuesday said he was measuring 5lb 5oz, (after they sent me because I was measuring small)🤷🏻‍♀️ and for your DD to be 8lb 10oz at 42+2 isn't that big either!
My first DS was 41 weeks and 8lb 3oz
Second DS was 40+4 and 8lb 8oz.
So I really wouldn't worry too much! X

Pugprincess · 24/01/2021 04:32

Baby weights sound good guys some are delivered at those weights at 40 weeks aren't they, I think its nice if they are abit smaller for longer as I bet they grow so quick, but then I hope mines not too small as I want the clothes to fit or its a mad rush for newborn clothes shopping 😅

@DanceM1 I think so I'm sure I've read it on one of my googles, especially as I was spotting and bleeding in first trimester. To me if it's not come from inside cervix it's got to be somewhere outside 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm Still waiting on this drawer organiser for my 0to 3, it's now 3 days late and obvs won't come tomorrow so I've reported it as missing. Its probably covid slowing things down but then other things from ebay have come fast. X

@RosieJess91 great news about your dad being released 😁

Nursery progress update, skirting and architrave is on and the new door is on 👌🏻next weekend the coving will go up. Dh wants to sand and white wash the plaster during the week. I've offered to help but he won't let me 😂

Workingmama1 · 24/01/2021 12:37

Brilliant news about your dad @RosieJess91, is he home now?

@danceM1 80th centile doesn't normally ring alarm bells, but at least if they test you for GD you can confirm either way.

Had a rubbish start to the weekend, baby was quieter on Friday, I kept leaving it thinking he would start kicking like normal again and he didn't, so ended up in triage again. The doctor who reviewed me (as I'd has a few episodes of reduced movements now) was awful and made me feel really stupid and didn't know what was meant to happen next. Thankfully the midwife was great and set him straight, ive got to have daily monitoring now until a scan later next week. Might see you there one day @skyblue20!

I find it so stressful keeping track of movements, some days he is quieter and some days more active, I'm i really struggle to say where to line into reduced movements is.

DanceM1 · 24/01/2021 13:22

@Pugprincess yeah I see what you mean.. its really strange! Hope your dividers come soon. You're going to appreciate that nursery so much when its done knowing all the hard work thats gone into it!!

@Workingmama1 sorry you've had a stressful start to the weekend- another one of us in triage! Good job that midwife knew what she was doing and great that you're having extra monitoring as well. When I was in triage a couple of weeks ago (not for reduced movements) I said to the doctor its really hard to know what's reduced movements as I dont have a pattern (actually would have more idea now I think). She said if you feel baby 3 times a day after eating then baby is fine. Thing is my baby doesn't really move after breakfast, usually moves more before lunch when I'm hungry- must be the sound of my belly rumbling 🤣

Pugprincess · 24/01/2021 13:53

@Workingmama1 I know what you mean with finding it hard to know when its reduced. Like how long is too long. In my notes there's a page that says if not moving much lay down for two hours and count any even slight movement and if its less than 10 then to go to hospital. It also says babies sleep in womb for chunks of time of up to an hour and a half so that's something else to bare in mind isn't it. The time I went the other week I wasn't feeling much and tried all my usual tricks to her a kick and wasn't so that's when I went in. I guess if you are worried and feeling anxious it's best to just go isn't it. I still have no pattern whatsoever. Mine moves on and off all day and night so that's not a pattern lol. So any quiet time I start to worry after a couple of hours.

I had a short thankfully panic attack last night. Rushed downstairs before bed to grab my phone charger and when I came back up I struggled to catch my breath and it caused me to panic 😩 I notice it happens sometimes as I'm falling sleep if on my right side too.

@DanceM1 thank you! Yh I can't wait till its done and I know I will just sit in there taking it all in.

I really want to make a pregnant snow lady 😁 then have a pic next to it with my belly out 😂 be a great memory x

Sakura54 · 24/01/2021 15:05

@Pugprincess It’s ok to let them be swamped in 0-3 months as they grow so fast but its unlikely you’ll have a tiny baby, as the average is over 7lb. I only have a lot of Newborn clothes as they were given to me and I'll probably only be able to use them for about 2 months even with a small baby.

We need a before and after pic of your nursery for sure!

@Smilingdonkey Do you know our labour ward’s current visiting hours? It says it on the website but I don’t know if it’s up to date. The MWs I’ve asked have no idea. I’ll have to find out nearer to the time at the actual labour ward.

From seeing all our growth scan baby sizes, it appears that we generally make babies of the same size and centile as previous ones. Interesting. I reckon mine will be around 6lb at full term.

@bubblybon20 Yeah it’s not great knowing there’s a higher risk of premature labour, but at least it hasn’t happened yet lol. I completely forgot to mention it to the sonographer (I mentioned other stuff and we were too busy laughing about how he did my 12w scan and also my SIL’s the other week). Don’t know if he could/would have measured my cervix to check or what.

I’m 35w today and it’s hit home that things are getting very real now. Each week I get to will be a milestone. I have 2 appts at over 36w, including a consultant one that was booked 5 months ago, so would be good if I could make it.

Afternoon all!

@RosieJess91 So glad your dad is home, must be a relief! How’re you feeling?

@DanceM1 We have two NCT sessions left. Did induction, pain relief and bathing baby today.

@Workingmama1 So sorry you’ve had the stress! Glad they’re looking after you though and that the midwife was on it, the doctor sounds awful! I’ve just come back from the hospital myself actually for my monitoring, was only on it 10mins today compared to 45mins on Thursday, which shows to me that her movements were somewhat reduced on Thursday but obviously everything was ok (thank God). Got my growth scan tomorrow and if that’s ok then that’s my extra monitoring done. I completely understand struggling to know where the line is. Like, I know baby tends to have a day or two of being quiet through the week but is it ok to just assume that’s the case when she’s quiet?! Would be awful if I did and there was actually something wrong! It’s all so grey isn’t it?! Always better to be safe than sorry. Always. They booked my scan in really quickly (referred Thurs late afternoon, they rang Fri lunch and I’m in tomorrow evening) so hopefully it’ll be the same for you (if you’re not already booked in). Xx

@Pugprincess Sorry to hear about the panic attack, hope you’re ok now? Xx

@Sakura54 Wow, 35 weeks, so close now! Hope baby can hold on for as long as possible 🤞🏼

Sounds like everyone is getting really organised now - we’re really getting to the end of it all, aren’t we?! It’s crazy!
In our NCT class today we were talking about types of induction etc and I decided I basically don’t want any of them, so I really hope baby just decides to come naturally (I can all but hope but I know the odds aren’t great) 🙈😬 Has anyone else thought about what their birth preferences would be? In terms of pain relief, I’d love to try and do it on just gas and air but would absolutely not be against an epidural. You can’t really plan it, can you, as no idea what might happen but I’m just trying to get clear in my head what I would like, what I definitely wouldn’t want and the things I would have but would rather hold off on if poss 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend xx

JoJo58995 · 24/01/2021 17:23

Sorry just caught up now on last few days! Hope everyone is going ok! Lots been going on, sorry to hear there are quite a few worrying about movements....@SkyBlue20 I'm glad everything was ok with today's monitoring 👍 I'm 26 weeks today and was in on Wednesday for monitoring as I could hardly feel anything, I thought she had just moved but they said best to go in and as soon as they started checking her heartbeat she started kicking the midwife! Her head was right up under my ribs and I was feeling pretty rough, short of breath and light headed which they said was a result of her position. I'm also finding movements very challenging on a daily basis, different people keep saying very different things about what is normal. When I asked my midwife she said if she was quiet for a few hours and I couldn't stimulate her then I should call them. I definitely do have days where she just does soft kicks intermittently with long gaps and then days where she does a lot more. With anterior placenta too I'm finding it very challenging, and don't want to be the person who doesn't call when something is wrong....but I genuinely think I could call them most days at some point if I go on what some of the guidance says! 🤦‍♀️ it's really difficult to know what to do for the best!
Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday, and the snow isn't causing too many problems! Xx

Poppy10121 · 24/01/2021 17:43

@Pugprincess that nursery is going to look so perfect when it’s done! Love the drawer dividers too! Our furniture all seems to be delayed getting here so I’ve not started washing and sorting clothes yet but I’m really looking forward to it!

@workingmama1 sorry you’ve had that stress, I hope the monitoring helps put your mind at rest. It’s so hard to know what counts as reduced movement when you’re the only one who can feel it so you can’t get a second opinion!

@sakura54 you’re so close to the end now! It’s amazing really given the journey we have all been on. I hope that baby holds on a few more weeks for you!

@Skyblue20 I spend a lot of time thinking about birth choices. My mum and SIL keep encouraging the epidural idea as they know lots of people it’s worked well for (including SIL x 2 births). After my hypnobirthing course I felt that I wanted minimal drugs and interventions, ideally water birth. But I’ve since watched a few Honest Midwife sessions explaining the various interventions and I can see that if the baby is back to back, or the labour is very long, there are massive advantages to various other pain relief options. I’m trying to prepare myself for a bunch of different outcomes so I don’t feel stressed by having to make decisions on the day.

@Jojo58995 I know what you mean, I have an anterior placenta and it’s hard to feel very much a lot of the time. Most of my friends had posterior placenta so I don’t know anyone whose experienced the same. I feel lucky because usually my baby is active in the evening so just when I’m starting to worry about not having felt much all day, I get a lot of kicks. Have you tried watching your belly? Sometimes I can’t feel the movements due to the placenta position but I can watch them bulging and wriggling, so weird!

I’ve collected my hand me down Snuzpod today and got a lot more bits off friends and family, I’ve just started gathering bits for hospital bag too - it’s starting to feel quite soon all of a sudden!

Pugprincess · 24/01/2021 17:43

@SkyBlue20 ah thanks in fine it was over as quick as it came. I'm same as you would like to try gas and air but open to epidural if its all too much. Xx

@Sakura54 thanks that's good to know. Should be fine for clothes then 😁 defo will be before and after pics. Xx

We have built a pregnant snow lady in the garden today 😂😂😂😂

Pregnant After MMC - Thread 5
Pugprincess · 24/01/2021 17:44

Thank you @Poppy10121, it's really starting to come together now. X

DanceM1 · 24/01/2021 18:40

@SkyBlue20 I've also been thinking a lot about birth options. I also really really don't want to be induced if it can be helped. It terrifies me and I feel like if I had the drip I would opt for an epidural. However, I'm trying to keep an open mind. My ideal scenario would be water birth with gas and air. But like you say, I wont rule out an epidural depending on circumstances! I dont think we will know until we are in that moment will we!

@Pugprincess love the snowman 🤣

ew1990 · 24/01/2021 19:26

I'm really hoping I don't have to be induced again, I think I'm going to refuse an induction, they did it last time because they said DDs growth was slowing but in hindsight she was fine and would've been if I wasn't induced. I was adamant with DD I just wanted gas and air, 🤣 ended up with pethidine too, the pain was just too much, I'm trying not to think about it to much,

My house looks like a building site and the more work we have done we find problems which means more work, I really hope it's finished before babies here.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, sorry some of you have ended up in with reduced movements, it's scary when it happens

JoJo58995 · 24/01/2021 20:01

@Poppy10121 I can see my belly moving some of the time but it usually is when I can feel it too. It's funny watching it move but I love it 🥰 I wish we could just feel them on demand, sometimes I'm nice and relaxed and then other times I just suddenly think 'I havent felt her for a while' then it feels like an age waiting for her to kick! It's an emotional rollercoaster....

RosieJess91 · 24/01/2021 20:25

@skyblue20 much better knowing my dad is now happy at home and my mum's no longer by herself!!

Personally, I've had a crazy day, started cleaning and I couldn't stop. Found myself cleaning places I didn't even know I could clean. I was dusting and hoovering and the bathroom is now spotless, including all the walls. Assume that was part of the nesting process.

I am a little worried, because I'm only 31 weeks on Wednesday, I am nesting, I have a ridiculously increased discharge (yikes) and the contractions are still continuing... I really don't want him to arrive this early!

I need to calm down. Not think about it.
