I'm not allowed to leave due to my preeclampsia.. I have to be monitored every 3 hours and take medication. That's why I've been here since Friday 😩 but it also means I'm priority to be restarted first snd they've had 4 labours this afternoon so fingers crossed 🙏🏻

I'm sure having the pessery put in and being allowed to go home is a faaaaar nicer way of being induced. You'll be fine don't worry 🥰

@djmbaker and @Katbaby sorry you're both having long waits! Those babies want to stay put it seems, too cosy in there! I feel like we've been on such a long journey together since April, I'm really rooting for you both! Hope you manage to get at least a little bit of rest tonight and that tomorrow is the big day for both of you!! X

Ahhh I’m sorry @djmbaker - they said I had the start of pre eclampsia when I was induced so had to stay in.

About four women came in, had the 24 hour pessary and then went home - weirdly every single one ended up either having a c section or a significant tear that needed a spinal block. Maybe it was just a coincidence but I was quite glad after that I “had” to stay in!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Little update ... had the pessery put back in at 11pm so it stays in now until 10am.. I'm definitely feeling things now though. Got lots of cramping.. my back is sore... feel really uncomfortable regardless of how I sit or stand so I'm hopeful this is doing its job today!!
Xx

Definitely sounds like it’s working @djmbaker. I had a lot of pain in my back & alternate between the ball and just lying in my side which gave a bit of relief.

Awake can't sleep and really hoping when I ring to book a time this morning they don't tell me something crazy like 5pm. If dh wasn't asleep I'd be pacing, I'm also starving but trying to resist going to get food.

Feeling happy today is finally the day but wishing I could have slept, been awake since 4 😭😭

Good luck @djmbaker hope it all happens for you now!

Good luck @Katbaby and @djmbaker

Our little lady is 3 days old today and we completely besotted. I did forget how difficult the first few days with a newborn can be, not to mention the after-pain contractions which can be worse if it's not your first baby (apparently)! She is worth it though 😊

She's beautiful! Congratulations @djmbaker ! Hope you are recovering ok from the birth, looking back I think it took me at least 10 days to process/feel myself, don't put pressure on yourself or feel guilty if you still need things to be about you for a little bit while you recover ❤️ (you might not need this, but it's what I wish someone had said to me in the first week as I felt terrible for wanting alone time to recover from the birth!)

Congratulations everyone! So glad all the babies are here safely now :)

Haven't been on here much the last few weeks, but how is everyone adjusting to baby life? We're nearly 7 weeks and it's not been an easy ride, somehow I feel like things are getting harder than they were. Just aiming for that 3 month mark with my fingers crossed.

@Katbaby and @djmbaker congratulations on your babies. My baby is 3 weeks old now and I can’t lie I’m finding some days quite tough. More so when she is upset it breaks my heart if I can’t console her. Sometimes I feel like I just don’t really know what I’m doing!

Noah is three weeks tomorrow he is formula fed and so hungry. He is on 120ml every 2-5 hours depending on him. But he nearly always cries for more after finishing 4oz, I don't know what to do? Do I give him more? Its just seems so much. I'm constantly worried that something will be wrong with him too.... I'm struggling to forget about being a children's nurse and just be a mum. I'm wishing my beeast milk had come in.

That's tough @Nic2908 , I'm not sure what you should do but it sounds like one to ask your midwife/health visitor? I feel very similar to the rest of you, we have good days and tough days! Just when I think we've got the hang of it we have a day that's just a total mess!
How are all your babies sleeping? Our little girl will sleep for 3/4 hour stretches but still wakes up the minute we put her down at night! So we're doing shifts sitting up with her all night which is hard and getting quite lonely. Not sure what else to do, I'm just hoping she will grow out of it soon!

@calipoppy could she have reflux? My LO does this on the days his reflux is bad, he'll be fast asleep but the moment he's laid flat he will start grunting and gurgling until it wakes him up after a few minutes. We find that giving a dummy as soon as he's down, swaddling, white noise and lots of stroking his nose will sometimes help, but equally have had to stay up entire nights when he was particularly reflux-y.

Have been given gaviscon to try by the gp, but worried it will make him constipated. He also doesn't seem to want to feed after we stop mid-feed to give it. Anyone have any experience?
