@Snowwhite2020

Anyone else using infacol for sore tummies/ wind? Any reviews? We’re finding it might be making her a bit constipated/ dehydrated but not 100% sure it’s related to infacol
We are too and it's a godsend!

We're on day 2 and there's a marked difference- but she is defo sleeping a lot more (I'm told this is because she can get better quality sleep without the pain of the wind) we have defo had several poooey nappies and she's weed on me twice today - so I would say it's nothing a side effect I've known.

@Charl88 metanium cream is amazing, also what wipes are you using? Try using cotton wool and water for a little bit and maybe change the wipes to a more sensitive one for a bit xx

danielasummer · 02/01/2021 02:05

@Charl88 I second metanium. If it's really bad, take baby to a chemist and show them the rash. They might recommend canesten 1% which has cleared my baby's rash up within a day (alongside use of metanium).

Hi ladies, we finally made it over the line! Our baby girl arrived yesterday (1st Jan) at 5:30pm. We are both doing well and enjoying lots of cuddles!

Thank you for the past few months, hope you are all settling with your little ones x

sandrastillstuffed · 02/01/2021 09:55

@peachypetite did you wait the 6 weeks to have sex? My brain is up to it lately but I feel like my ladybits may not like it Blush because I feel something weird when I think of it! It has been 3 weeks for me only. Any tips?

Kj1010 · 02/01/2021 16:49

Well had appointment all fine with my boy which I thought would be ok anyway hospital was like a ghost town they literally arent allowing no one in there at all

Pinktruffle · 03/01/2021 02:07

Congratulations @loobeelou!

Glad to hear all is good with your son @kj1010. I'm so jealous that he slept 5 hours through! Mine is coming up 7 weeks and the most he has ever slept at night is 3 and a half hours, he's usually up every 2 - 2 and a half hours wanting feeding. Even when we upped the amount of formula he's having, it made no real difference. I just have a very hungry baby!

NatalieH2220 · 03/01/2021 08:34

Hi everyone, I've not been on for a while so congratulations to everyone that has now had their baby!

My baby is 6 weeks old now and also suffering from reflux. We've switched to anti reflux milk which helps but it's so thick he struggles to drink it. We're combi feeding so think the consistency of BM then formula is confusing. He brings up so much of the BM though but I don't want to stop :( has anyone had the same issue and any tips?

peachypetite · 03/01/2021 08:51

@NatalieH2220 mine has colic and I’m losing the will to live. She’s had it since 6am and has finally calmed down.

lc86 · 03/01/2021 10:05

We have started using gaviscon infant and noticed a difference on the bottles that he has it in, a lot more settled and much less sick! He slept 1-6 the last two nights too 🙌🏼 he's 4 weeks now and been taking 5oz the last 2 weeks, he's a little chunk xx

Kj1010 · 03/01/2021 11:24

@Pinktruffle can I ask what formula ur lo is on we where on aptamil but changed to hungrier formula aptamil still as he was going every 1 to 2 hours etc then hungry gain and we just couldn't cope with him being unhappy overtired and constantly wanting food and it's been the best since we changed his so much more settled when his awake his more happy no whinging etc . On a different note any one who had a csection is any of ur womb numb ? Mine is at the front middle part also still getting little niggle pains inside have read ur uterus still shrinking back etc but I also wonder if these niggle pains are summat to do with being steralised aswell will have to ask wen I eventually get the 6 week appointment

lc86 · 03/01/2021 11:32

@Kj1010 yes around the scar is numb and sometimes pins and needles sort of feeling. I didn't have any pain for a while but the last few days insides have been a bit sore, not enough to take painkillers but a weird feeling. Not sure if it's where I'm more active and maybe doing a bit too much xx

Pinktruffle · 03/01/2021 12:26

@kj1010 Mine is on Mamia milk. It does suit him on the whole, he isn't refluxy and doesn't have colic so I'm hesitant to change him. He did sleep 4 and a half hours last night for the first time which was pretty amazing!
I have numbness around my section scar. I'm nearly 7 weeks out now and still have a lot of tenderness (what I assume is internal bruising) around my belly up to just below my belly button, I'm looking forward to that disappearing.

Kj1010 · 03/01/2021 12:28

@lc86 yes I'm wondering if it's where doing a bit to much basically been doing everything after the first week home like also if I go out for a walk I feel absolutely fucked like I've just come out of hospital again sorry for swear word I think I need to realise we dont ping back to normal this quick takes time

Kj1010 · 03/01/2021 12:31

@Pinktruffle ahh a lot of ppl use that milk and say it's great where I am they never have in stock lol glad I'm not only one suffering with numbness thought perhaps they caught summat when doing op I just cant wait to feel a bit normal again lol

lc86 · 03/01/2021 12:42

@Kj1010 I'm too scared to go for a walk in case it's too sore after or during! 4 weeks since op so I'm sure I'd be absolutely fine, just a bit anxious 😬

Kj1010 · 03/01/2021 12:48

@lc86 yeah you would be absolutely fine just dont over do it to far etc I've been out since 2nd week way to soon then I walked and picked my daughter up from school which is like 15 min walk but took me longer obviously and it killed me lol small steps I keep telling myself

kkr168 · 03/01/2021 13:18

I'm so jealous of everyone that's getting long stretches overnight, my son wakes every 2 1/2 to 3 hours & drinks 3oz max.

What's the difference with hungry baby milk? At the moment he's on aptimal profutura

Pinktruffle · 03/01/2021 15:50

@Kj1010 one of DH''s closest friends is a manager at Aldi, he usually gives us a heads up when it's in stock as their supply is a little sporadic. As I understand it, it's the same as Aptimel, made in the same factory etc but because Aptimel pay the factory more, they get first dibs and Aldi get the left over for their production. We have a little bit of a stock up at home at the minute as we usually get 3 tubs whenever it's in stock.

The C-section numbness is due to where our nerves have been cut, we will regain some feeling eventually but it will never be 100% again. It was described to me as like pulling cotton wool apart and then trying to put it back together, it will stick but will never go back to how it was before you pulled it apart.

I went for a 40 minute walk after about 5 weeks and was slower than normal but managed to get a good walk in without any real pain during or after. Just take it slow and do what you feel comfortable with. I would be going for more walks if the weather was better, I would like to take DS out but feel it's too cold for him at the moment. Hopefully the snow will clear over the next few days and it'll get warmer and I can think about taking him out in the pram, he looks out of the window so wistfully!

Snowwhite2020 · 03/01/2021 16:37

To everyone talking about c sections- I have been managing short walks since week 2. I’m now over week 6. I started with just round the block once a day but by week 3/4 was doing 45 min walks and now can manage longer as normal. We have a dog and walk him a lot- so I was used to long walks the whole way through pregnancy. I think the important thing is to listen to your body and start very very small and it’s true you can overdo it but in my experience I’ve only ever been sore from lifting baby too much/ awkwardly or holding her up for breastfeeding etc and I did not push the pram until quite recently. The walks have aided my recovery though and helped me stay sane in this challenging newborn phase! X

Pinktruffle · 03/01/2021 17:15

I agree '@Snowwhite2020 the only time I've been sore the next day from overdoing it has been when ive lifted heavy things that I shouldn't have or whemnlifting the baby from the playmat on the the floor. The only other thing which has made me sore was too much stair climbing/taking the baby upstairs before I was ready - this still causes some twinges now but I'm always fine going downstairs.
