Hi all, joining you today. I’ve just got my bfp with my 5th baby. Feeling a bit anxious with all the covid stuff but generally thrilled. Is there a Facebook group yet?

lilyj13 · 10/01/2021 15:05

@MrsMcNtobe
Try and take your mind of it, go for a walk get some fresh air, have a relaxing bath,

I always use this quote constantly

What will be will be - you can't change what gone you can't change what's about to happen, you have to just live in the moment, enjoy that moment.

I try take my own advice. I have anxiety over hyperemisis sickness that's what's keeping me up at night I try keep my mind on other things but it's hard at night,

How far are you gone I'm 4 weeks 1 day

MrsMcNtobe · 10/01/2021 15:08

@lilyj13 I love that quote. I’m 4+2 today! I just booked an early scan for 6+5, I was scared to jinx it but I thought whatever’s gonna happen will happen.

Last night I couldn’t sleep worrying about my baby having a cat allergy when I have two little cats who are my world 😂

How are you feeling other than worrying about the hyperemisis?

Lozza85 · 10/01/2021 15:40

@lilyj13 thats a great quote, that's what I'm trying to stick to. I had a positive feeling right since the start of this cycle so hanging on to it. I'm 4+2 today.

@MrsMcNtobe I couldn't sleep last night either, a million worries going through my head! I'm planning to book a scan for about 8 weeks, not sure which company to go for, who did you use? I'm in London

lilyj13 · 10/01/2021 15:53

@Lozza85 where abouts in London, there is a clinic in feltham does all the scans and it's great not to expensive as well

Lozza85 · 10/01/2021 16:50

@Lilyj13 I'm North-west London. Was looking at Window to the Womb as they have a clinic in Watford which is relatively close by.

MrsMcNtobe · 10/01/2021 16:56

@Lozza85 I’m in Glasgow but it’s Window to the Womb I’ve booked, I’ve booked for 6+5 but I’m wondering if I should move it back a week or so, what do you think? The whole point in reassurance is going as soon as possible but I could always go again before my 12 week. Not sure if it’s the same where you are but my doctor won’t even entertain a phone call or anything until at least 6 weeks and won’t see you until between 10 and 12 weeks

leftitlate37 · 10/01/2021 17:04

hey @MrsMcNtobe - i was wondering the same, i think im gonna go later than 6 tho as if dates are out by a bit, they might not be able to see HB etc and this would stress me out waaaay more! im gonna aim for 8 weeks i think.then if dates a bit out hopefully if things were ok they would still be able to reassure!
@Lisakathryn hows things today?? I rang epu and lovely nurse called me back and reassured that it sounds like its normal and just an early pregnancy thing, but to call them back if things get worse. she was so nice and didnt make me feel stupid for calling and nice to know can just call back if things get worse.

MrsMcNtobe · 10/01/2021 17:06

@leftitlate37 see I feel the same as you but I’m just so desperate... it’s so hard! Leaving it til 8 weeks is only another week and a bit after I’m booked. It’s just so hard waiting! (Especially during this lockdown where every hour feels like a week)

Lozza85 · 10/01/2021 17:16

@MrsMcNtobe yeah that's why I'm thinking 8 weeks so I can hopefully hear a heartbeat 💓

I'm not bothering to call my GP (they're closed to non-urgent anyway inc phone consultations), I know that I just need to self refer to the midwife unit at my local hospital so will do that this week sometime.

MrsMcNtobe · 10/01/2021 17:20

@Lozza85 I have to call back again next week and they will hopefully refer me.

This is random and TMI - but do you know if increased CM is a normal symptom? Mine has been all over the place but seems a lot more today than usual

Lozza85 · 10/01/2021 17:34

@MrsMcNtobe I think I've heard of that being a symptom! I have almost no CM and just some light twinges in my belly today but that's it! Keep looking at my test to make sure I haven't imagined it!

Lisakathryn · 10/01/2021 17:36

@MrsMcNtobe yep, I have the same. Gross 🤣🤣

No more bleeding, thank god. Just hoping it was a bit of random spotting. It was really light so just fingers crossed for now.

The anxiety is real though, I totally empathise with anyone feeling this. I wasn't expecting anxiety to hit me like a truck.

I find work helpful and reading so I'm just trying to take things as easy as I possibly can and just get the days over. Once I hit about 8pm I calm down a bit because I've got through the day 🙈

MrsMcNtobe · 10/01/2021 17:52

@Lisakathryn it’s so worrying I’m forever running to the toilet to check 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

So glad your bleeding has stopped, I wish we could just stop worrying but it’s impossible!

I’m almost ready to fall asleep this is so exhausting already 😂

I'd like to join the Facebook group, but i don't understand the settings - don't want anyone to be notified or for it to come up as a 'suggested group' for any of my friends! My other mums groups are 'hidden' which means no one can search for them! Can anyone confirm for sure?!

Hiya, just thought I would jump in if that's okay!
I'm currently 6 weeks and have booked a scan through 'Hey Baby 4D' in Watford, I have the scan this Saturday coming so I will be 7 weeks. I've read pretty good reviews so decided to book here. I will let you know how it goes! Xx

VNttc · 11/01/2021 07:51

@DavinaDougie

You can search for it still but you can't see who any of the members are :)

meganlea · 11/01/2021 08:21

Hi all!

Hope you don't mind me joining. Got my BFP on Friday morning, me and DH have been trying for 3 months, been together 5 years and this will be our first. I'm around 5 weeks atm but my cycles were 34 days long so could be less than that? I suffer from anxiety quite bad when it comes to any major change in life and this is one of them. I'm over the moon I really am it's what I want I know it, but I'm petrified of carrying and giving birth, so I'm joining this thread in the hopes it makes me feel less alone and can calm my nerves. There has been periods already where I've just burst in to tears and not even crocodile tears like a full on gasping for air what the f*ck am I actually doing tears. But other times I'm so excited and ecstatic, and planning what I need to do to prepare. It's been a whirlwind already and it's only been 3 days. We have another 8 months to go yet!

Also, just called the Drs to book in with my GP thinking that's the norm and they might prescribe me with some folic acid tablets and give me some advice on how to look after my mind and body for the next 8 months, but no?! The receptionist said 'You only ring the GP if you're ill, I'll give your name and address to the midwife who'll either ring you or send you a letter for your 12 week scan'. Has anyone else had this experience? Like ....WHAT!!! I need a Dr to hold my hand, I wanted to tell them how bloody petrified I am, I wanted some advice/resources, I wanted the bloody tablets you have to take for the first 12 weeks lol. Looks like I'll be spending the morning researching all of this and getting my own tabs. Just feel like I'm completely alone at the minute.

Hope everyone is feeling okay??? xx

felicityheather · 11/01/2021 08:29

I had my first episode of sickness rather than nausea, which I'm taking as a sign that hormones are on the go at least so hopefully our little bean is sticking in.

Noodles4Me · 11/01/2021 10:08

@meganlea hello. That's terrible. I referred myself to midwife via hospital and she called me for initial chat and I've got detailed chat next week and face-to-face week after. Can you try that?

Buying folic acid will be cheaper than prescription won't it?

Anyone else still bloated? I'm 6 wk + 5 and so big. Might have to get maternity pants soon! Shock

meganlea · 11/01/2021 10:16

@Noodles4Me well now we're pregnant prescriptions are free aren't they? I don't mind buying them myself at all I just thought that this was standard procedure to at least be able to speak to a Dr and go from there, but I was so wrong! haha.

Lozza85 · 11/01/2021 10:40

@sydneymae please do let me know how your scan goes and what the clinic is like!

@meganlea yeah, doctors aren't interested especially at the moment. When I was pregnant last time (ended in mc) they told me to just self refer to the hospital. So doing that this time and not bothering to phone the GP at all. I'm taking pregnacare tablets which they told me last time contain enough folic acid so you could give those a try. I hear the anxiety though, I'm trying some mindful meditation using the Calm app and just reminding myself that there's nothing I can do to change what's going to happen.

I'm 6 weeks 2 days and people are asking me if I've got my dates right or if I'm having more than one I'm so bloated 😩🤣 xx

Bluespace · 11/01/2021 11:49
