Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@Threecouldbefour waiting to hear still but should know by Monday. Waiting waiting waiting. Cant envisage waiting 7 days at this point let alone 9 months!! Good luck

Kinsters · 20/12/2020 09:31

Threecouldbefour yes, any MC is so tough but seeing the heartbeat and then it being taken away from you is really hard. Really hope you get some positive news.

Firegirl35 · 20/12/2020 09:54

For the ladies having scans and question marks over heartbeats, I am so sorry that it’s not been the good news you hoped for :( This is so hard isn’t it?!

Everyone here seems to have so much knowledge about it all, and I’m here a “geriatric” first timer totally clueless.

For those who have had scans, how did you arrange them? Are they private or through the NHS? I’m now worried they won’t find a heartbeat, and I’ve no idea when I got pregnant but I feel it might have been when I was ill with covid or just before... now I’m wondering whether to wait to see if it’s viable before I tell my partner? How many weeks do you recommend getting the scan, or what sort of wait list have you experienced??

Love to all

Alittlexmasmagic · 20/12/2020 10:02

@Firegirl35 your 12 week scan is arranged by your MW following your booking in appointment.
Some will be having earlier scans because of previous losses or current issues.

Please don't feel you can't tell your partner because he'll be upset, or anyone else for that matter. Tell whoever you know will be there to support you, no matter what x

So sorry to everyone who hasn't had the news they'd hoped for at a scan and who are waiting anxiously for rescans, I'm keeping fingers crossed for more positive, certain news for you all soon.

@SweetShop2020 I've not told anyone yet - I have a scan on Wednesday morning. The original plan was to tell family on Christmas Eve but DH has been called into work and won't be home until Christmas Day evening so I'll need to hold out until then!

@Firegirl35 I booked mine privately, I've paid a little more and gone for one at a proper medical place as the BBC article about private scan places made me a bit nervous! (And actually the medical place is closer to me so I'll make up quite a lot of the price different with petrol and parking!)

I feel as though my nausea is getting worse which is horrid, and I'm constantly exhausted - can't wait for leave over the Christmas holidays!

@Boredinthehouse12

Hello ladies, I have an early scan this morning. I’m feeling really anxious as my 1st pregnancy didn’t end well. Baby was measuring 10 days behind and the heartbeat was slow. Roughly 2 weeks later it was confirmed that the heartbeat had stopped and that I’d had a MMC.

For those who are waiting for follow up scans I really hope you get some positive news. I know just how awful the wait can be. Also just to add, my friends baby was measuring slow at her early scan but everything worked out well and she’s due next week, so don’t give up hope.

My first pregnancy was the same. I heard a heartbeat then it was gone a week later
Boredinthehouse12 · 20/12/2020 13:31

I’m out ladies, I’ve just had my scan and it’s been confirmed as Blighted Ovum. My sac was empty. The worse thing about it is my symptoms have been quite intense. I’ll be booking an appointment with the EPU to find out the next steps.

Good luck to you all! X

Boredinthehouse12 · 20/12/2020 13:35

Worst* not worse!

WinterBabyof89 · 20/12/2020 15:02

I'm sorry @Boredinthehouse12 that's just so unfair. Sending love x

Hi

I got my BFP on the 14th December. According to my LMP I should be 6 weeks but there’s no chance as my clear blue was only 1-2 weeks. So confused xx

Jessicapebbles · 20/12/2020 17:29

I had my scan today and put my mind at rest ❤️ We saw a heartbeat which was a huge relief after 2 miscarriages this year.

@Boredinthehouse12 My heart breaks for you and I really hope you are ok. Please keep us updated on how you are xx

Can I join? I think I'm due at the beginning of august though not totally sure on the dates as yet..
ds is 2.5
This will be 5th pregnancy- 3 before ds all ended in mmc so somewhat anxious ..
Have tried booking a private scan but earliest date I can get is 7th January - and due to COVID dh can't come so have to go to it alone 🤨

buckingmad · 20/12/2020 18:38

@jessi60 do you know when you ovulated?

Firegirl35 · 20/12/2020 18:58

@Boredinthehouse12 really sorry to hear that :( Hope you get good news again soon. Baby dust to you xxxx

Firegirl35 · 20/12/2020 18:59

Are there any single pregnant ladies in here? Prematurely but fairly confidently predicting I will be a first time single mum when I tell my new partner :-(

jessi60 · 20/12/2020 19:02

@buckingmad I had a opk peak on the 25th November but the app had me down to ovulate on the 26th. I had no other ovulation symptoms though so can’t guarantee it.

The only day I dtd within the correct time frame is the 25th November as I was poorly two weeks before that x

Firegirl35 · 20/12/2020 19:08

@biscuitcat how much was it private if you don’t mind my asking? And did they do ultra sound or go in inside?! Confused

Firegirl35 · 20/12/2020 19:13

@Alittlexmasmagic Thankyou Smile I would like one before 12 weeks as I’m worried that the covid has adversely affected the start of it and maybe there will be no heartbeat... then all the agony I’m going through now will be worthless. I keep having phases of physically shaking with adrenaline I suppose at the thought of telling him and what I’ve got into. I’ve told one very supportive male friend who helped me get my head round it, but I won’t tell parents until I am 3 months (if it even goes that far), and probably same with my girlfriends as I want it to be a happy announcement not clouded with anything.
I feel like his reaction is going to dictate whether I keep it and whether we stay together. I feel sick to my stomach at the thought of ruining a life (baby’s, his, his kids who may feel pushed out, mine if I’m a single skint parent). I don’t know what to do and I’m sorry for marring this thread with this when it should be full of happiness I’ve just nowhere else to go Sad

buckingmad · 20/12/2020 19:13

@Firegirl35 I went private. Was £110 and they did have to go internal but honestly was fine. Not painful, they literally go in about an inch if that then it just feels a bit odd as they move around! Not painful.

Firegirl35 · 20/12/2020 19:23

@buckingmad okay Thankyou! Honestly I’ll be the worst pregnant/labour person, I am over due my smear (terrible I know, tried to book one in last year but they wouldn’t due to covid), anything down there makes me a bit squeamish and everyone I have spoken to has a horrible birth story which makes me wonder about having an elective as I’m terrified of labour tbh.
I might look into that, I’m going to try and phone my GP tomorrow to register with a midwife and then I’m guessing they phone you? Or is that not how it works? I’ll just need to leave the house and make a private call Blush

Alittlexmasmagic · 20/12/2020 19:36

@Firegirl35 everyone seems to have a bad birth story.... it's like some weird competition to see who had it worse. Ignore them!!! There are still many, many good stories out there too. An ELCS can be great but make sure it's what's best for you. I had an EMCS last time and wouldn't choose an ELCS as I don't have a partners full time support afterwards (he's a dairy farmer so the cows come first).x

@Alittlexmasmagic, how long does a CS take you out the game for? My OH is self employed so definitely wouldn’t take much time off- be lucky to get 2 weeks- so I guess if it came to that maybe my mum would have to move in?! She’s 65 years out the baby game, but she’ll have more idea than me!! LOL
