Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@BertieBotts

Yeah, nausea hitting me today. It's making me grumpy because my stomach aches as well. I only get a little bit of respite after eating. Finding sour/bitter drinks are helping, though - grapefruit juice for example.
I wish I could have it that way. I feel extremely nauseous after eating. Other times fine. Driving me nuts and almost making me not wanna eat at all 🤦‍♀️
haidri · 19/12/2020 19:42

Is it normal to lose your appetite when you've got nausea at night

BertieBotts · 19/12/2020 19:50

Yes, that's the problem - I feel utterly bleugh about any kind of food like I don't even want to go near it. But I do know that if I have it in front of me (and it's not the wrong thing - salty things seem to be OK) I will then want to eat it. It's just the preparation or the thought of it in advance that isn't so great.

Being too hungry makes me feel very ill as well so I know I have to eat something regularly. Salty/bitter/bland seems to be key.

Pixieandpip · 19/12/2020 19:51

Scan today backfired before Christmas and telling relatives ( who I still get to see) . Scan has put me back to 6wk 1/2 days. But that is feasible as I have no idea when I had last period as they aren’t regular at all and hadn’t been overly trying to get pregnant. Got negative test on 22nd nov & positive on 26th November, so I think that still fits in . So either I’m just later than I thought or bean has stopped growing. Have to go for another scan in 7-10 days but I’m ok about that... just cross I can’t give family a definite yay I’m pregnant. I’ll keep you guys updated.
Also for anyone that hasn’t had one.. internal scan wasn’t horrific at all.

Hi all,
Joining as I guess i belong here... but terrified. I’m 35, pregnant with first child, of unknown weeks so yet to have dates confirmed, but four tests today all say positive! Went to an out of hours GP too who confirmed it..
I’ve not told my partner yet, this is what scares me the most. We’ve only been together 5 months, so it was unplanned but I realise I want it. I had a termination when I was 24 and have always thought what if and regretted it, not thinking I would have one.
I’m worried about many things- as well as partners reaction (he’s blown hot and cold as to whether he wants more children, he has 2 from a previous LTR who we have half the week), I have my age and covid in the back of my mind.

Also tier4 now here, I assume Kent?

I’m hoping to find strength and friendship with you ladies xxx love to all

Firegirl35 · 19/12/2020 20:11

Also hugely suffering from sickness and fatigue!
I actually tested positive for covid on Nov 30th, and had thought my symptoms were from that, maybe “long covid”, but this awful sickness made me get a test just to be sure.... turns out it’s not covid, it’s pregnancy!! I’m signed off sick at the moment coz of it, but as soon as I tell my employer I’ll be taken off the run (I’m a firefighter) and placed on modified duties, which means longer working hours Monday to Friday doing desk work- not looking forward to it!!

I got medication today for the nausea, ginger biscuits, crackers, ginger ale, salt and vinegar crisps, and hard boiled sweets woop!!!

VWLolabunny9119 · 19/12/2020 20:27

Welcome @Firegirl35! And congratulations. I haven't had Covid that I know of but i am more worried about getting it now I'm pregnant. Did you feel that it affected you at all? Of course it affects people differently but since I had my scan Iv definitely got more anxious about it.

Firegirl35 · 19/12/2020 20:37

Hi @VWLolabunny9119 :)
Yes it did affect me greatly, but like a bad flu and hangover. I was fatigued for a week before I tested positive (maybe I was pregnant?)
Then I had:
Extreme fatigue and sleeping for days
5 day constant headache
Feeling sick
Deep pain in hips and lower back
Stomach ache (implantation??)
Breathless on exertion like stair climbing
Loss of smell and taste
Woke up with rash on chest
Couple days of blocked/runny nose

4 others tested positive at my work but all but me are back at work... now I know why I’m still suffering or it’s actually pregnancy now. I am worried about it affecting baby, but the GP today said there’s no evidence of that AND good news is that pregnant women who are getting it aren’t badly getting covid (unlike SARS I think he said whereby it was a lot more serious for pregnants and they were dying more). So he reassured me and I hope that does you too. I’m definitely going to be extra careful now though, I specially as I’m in tier 4

pringlebells · 19/12/2020 20:38

I'm due 24th august too! 😊😊

Firegirl35 · 19/12/2020 20:41

Nimie · 19/12/2020 22:13

How's everyone feeling about the tier 4 announcement? We are in tier 4 as much as I want to see my parents I guess it's for the best. But really hoping we can have our scans with our partners at least, wouldn't want to go by myself 🙈🙈

WinterBabyof89 · 19/12/2020 22:40

I’m still in a tier 3 area, sorry to those who’ve just been upped to tier 4 - it could happen to the rest of us at any time given how quick the changes are imposed.
Hope it doesn’t affect partners attending scans - everything changes so fast recently it’s hard to keep up isn’t it

tiinab · 19/12/2020 23:02

I am actually still considering flying home for Christmas cause there is no legal grounds for them to not let me leave and come back as not a UK citizen. I did a private covid test today also to have some peace of mind and tmrw evening should come results. Strangely if you look at the gov.uk there is a lot of exceptions for leaving tier 4 area ans police has also said it now that they don't have capacity to enforce things. Hoping now for the best and thankful my insurance has confirmed to me that whatever the outcome is we are 100% covered for our costs. Grateful to have annual travel insurance what still covers covid related things.
SweetShop2020 · 20/12/2020 00:06

Those of you due end of August- have you told your parents?

Kinsters · 20/12/2020 06:47

5 weeks today and definitely starting to feel a bit nauseous and tired now.

SweetShop2020 I haven't told my parents yet and won't until we've had a scan at 8 weeks as long as everything is ok. We won't be seeing them but if we were then I wouldn't try to hide it.

BertieBotts · 20/12/2020 07:03

I would tell them, but I know that my mum will react to news pre heartbeat with loads of positivity and I can't cope with that. We have told DH's sister who struggled with infertility for years (she is much older than us and done having kids) because she understands the caution.

I'm dying to tell DS1 as it's so awkward trying to hide things from him!

I'm planning to call my mum/sister after the scan on Monday (all being well) and tell them then!

BertieBotts · 20/12/2020 07:05

I'm not that close to my dad so I wouldn't tell him yet anyway. My stepmum will worry if I tell her before 12 weeks! But might as we don't often chat as we are both too forgetful D:

Winecoffeeteamum · 20/12/2020 07:16

Hi ladies can I join you all? I'm 5 weeks along this is pregnancy no 4 have a beautiful dd (5) had 2 miscarriages. Feeling very nervous and very excited Smile

Threecouldbefour · 20/12/2020 07:41

Hi, I've joined already but just wondering if anyone is waiting for a repeat scan like me? I have one on Wednesday morning to see whether the pregnancy is viable. There was a very slow heartbeat (size was fine) when I went this Wednesday. She said some pick up and some don't but I think it's highly doubtful to be good news. I still have nausea and tiredness - which just feels like a kick in the teeth when you are expecting bad news! Anyone else waiting anc going demented with the not knowing? x

Kinsters · 20/12/2020 07:53

Threecouldbefour it's good to be realistic but how slow is slow? My daughter was 113bpm until 12 weeks I think then sped up and was fine. I read so much stuff about how under 120bpm was bad and it was so worrying.

Kinsters · 20/12/2020 07:54

Sorry meant to add that for my MC it was the opposite of my daughter - the heartbeat was great but size was small.

Pixieandpip · 20/12/2020 07:57

Same here but no heartbeat .... early scan yesterday backfired before Christmas and telling relatives ( who I still get to see) . Scan has put me back to 6wk 1/2 days and no heartbeat. I had guessed roughly 7-8. But that is feasible as I have no idea when I had last period as they aren’t regular at all and hadn’t been overly trying to get pregnant. Got negative clear blue digital test on 22nd nov & positive on 26th November, (1-2 weeks) and then a week later @ 2-3 so I think that still fits in? Only just?
So either I’m just later than I thought or bean has stopped growing. Have to go for another scan in 7-10 days aswell . I’m ok about that... just cross I can’t give family a definite yay I’m pregnant. More like yay I’m pregnant but don’t get your hopes up...grrr. Also being slightly demented!!!

Threecouldbefour · 20/12/2020 08:29

Hi @Kinsters slow really was slow - she couldn't measure using the ultrasound but estimated it at around 67 bpm. I have barely read any positive stories of heart rates that slow. I could see 'pulsations' as the sonographer described them but it wasn't that strong flashing that I've seen in scans with my dc. But the size was just right. Sorry to hear you also had a previous loss. It's so tough in the first 12 weeks. I also had a mc but the baby had never developed. I feel this is a harder wait and sadder now I've seen the heartbeat.

@Pixieandpip I'm so sorry to hear about your scan too. Fingers crossed you are just earlier than you thought. It does sound as though this could be the case. When is your next scan? The wait is the hardest!

Boredinthehouse12 · 20/12/2020 09:03

Hello ladies, I have an early scan this morning. I’m feeling really anxious as my 1st pregnancy didn’t end well. Baby was measuring 10 days behind and the heartbeat was slow. Roughly 2 weeks later it was confirmed that the heartbeat had stopped and that I’d had a MMC.

For those who are waiting for follow up scans I really hope you get some positive news. I know just how awful the wait can be. Also just to add, my friends baby was measuring slow at her early scan but everything worked out well and she’s due next week, so don’t give up hope.
