Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@LBunz welcome! I understand your nerves. I’m hoping as the year progresses the rules might relax a bit. Fingers crossed anyway! I’ve got no books but I like the what to expect website and the pregnancy+ app!

@notveryrelaxed oh no, I’m afraid no experience but I’ve seen many threads on here where similar has happened and all has worked out okay. Going to the EPU tomorrow is a good move and hopefully they can offer some reassurance. From what I’ve seen some bleeding is normal and there’s a few causes for it, but I know that doesn’t help. Really hope all okay and definitely giving you a big hand hold x

Thisisbananas3 · 13/01/2021 19:36

@PurplePansy05 sorry I’ve ruined peanut butter for you 😬 I have had started smoothies but it’s so down to my sickness. It’s making out I’m eating so much but tbh I’m really not, i can be sick up 20 times in a day so I’m lucky if I manage a smoothie, some toast and a croissant. Still not sick today which is very suspicious.

I’ve read that theory too and it sounds about right to me. Also you’re meant to avoid caffeine and alcohol.. I can’t drink tea, be near coffee and the thought of a glass of wine... yuk. Shame beige food not more nutritional tbh!

olderthanyouthink · 13/01/2021 19:37

@Alittlexmasmagic she was an easy newborn to feed, never got stuck feeding for like an hour, but she never cut down. Even now she can eat and drink loads and then turn to me and ask for milk.

I've definitely not been put off meat, I went and bought loads last time I popped to the supermarket for some bread. DP is vegetarian so not thrilled about it but I think I'm in bulking mode because I'm underweight.

WinterBabyof89 · 13/01/2021 19:40

@notveryrelaxed hope all goes well tomoro - hand holding xx

notveryrelaxed · 13/01/2021 19:48

Thanks @WinterBabyof89 xx

notveryrelaxed · 13/01/2021 19:50

Thanks @Thisisbananas3 that really helps! Keep telling myself the same and since I’ve had heartbeat it should in theory be ok!

Still feeling sick and hungry all at once! We had celebratory Nando’s after the scan ha ha

PurplePansy05 · 13/01/2021 20:00

@notveryrelaxed No personal experience in this kind of bleeding either, but I read on other threads ladies have had subchorionic hematoma with very similar symptoms and it was fine. Has anyone mentioned this to you?

@Thisisbananas3 Ah in this case just eat whatever you can, I doubt you're actually retaining much of the sugar anyway! Definitely agree re alcohol, couldn't even think about it now. Tea is fine and I do have some decaf coffee (disgusting). DH bought some decaf coke and pepsi and it's my treat occasionally, just to have something else than water.

afictionado · 13/01/2021 20:00

@notveryrelaxed Oh no, the waiting/not knowing whether to keep hoping is the hardest. I hope you get answers soon and that it's good news, will be thinking of you.

@ArchbishopOfBanterbury The return of periods seems to vary a lot! I cut down feeds to just before/during sleeptimes and that seemed to be enough to get mine back at around a year postpartum, but they took a while to regulate. @olderthanyouthink Two hourly! That would be my toddler's dream I think. Instead he just drinks drinks drinks all night. 😓

olderthanyouthink · 13/01/2021 20:02

@afictionado will give it a bit of time to settle and then try for 3 hours. She wakes a feeds every 1-4 hours at night too, I can kinda get her to sleep without milk but it takes ages and once I've gone to be all bets are off.

notveryrelaxed · 13/01/2021 20:03

Thanks all!

Yes @PurplePansy05 I’ve heard of that BBC abs my friend who’s just had her baby had quite a lot of similar bleeding with no issues so really hoping it’s fine xx

Alittlexmasmagic · 13/01/2021 20:26

@notveryrelaxed I had bleeding from 11/12 weeks with my last pregnancy and they never figured out what it was. One likely explanation that they gave me was uterine cells growing out/through into the vagina then shedding like a period. They said the same about some very light spotting I had today. It could also be a fibroid etc.
Keep a record of how much blood you've lost. Even take a soaked pad with you tomorrow if it helps describe quantities.x

Thanks @Alittlexmasmagic that’s really helpful, will do. It seems to have slowed a little bit so I’m going to try and get some sleep.

Thanks all, so good to have this thread xx

BertieBotts · 13/01/2021 21:22

OMG I love chicken selects, but they don't do them here :(

I'm still breastfeeding my 2yo as well. He doesn't feed a huge amount though, at bedtime, at naptime, sometimes mid morning if I haven't got up or after his nap if he isn't distracted. And then most of the night which is annoying TBH. He's never ever slept through and I was amazed he did 6.5 hours in a row last night :o I am hoping to get him a bit more independent sleep wise before the new baby comes. Any time you suggest he might want a bit less "mimi" though he gets very posessive and snuggles in. I don't think he's ready to stop yet and that's OK with me. My now 12yo was much much more boob obsessed and prob was still feeding every couple of hours at 2 D: he didn't stop until he was 4!

Handhold to anyone struggling with crapming or bleeding, it must be so nerve wracking.

ItsPrincesspeach · 13/01/2021 23:12

@notveryrelaxed I also had bleeding in my first pregnancy (bright red and quite heavy with cramps), I obviously thought the worst, EPU gave me an internal scan and it was a bleed next to the sac, they were unsure as to what caused it though, now my little one is 4 years old so it could be nothing at all. Just make sure you get some rest and take it easy.

MrsB2019x · 13/01/2021 23:19

@notveryrelaxed Big hand squeeze for you. Glad EPU are seeing you fairly quickly and hopefully they will be able to reassure you ☺️

plebsticle · 14/01/2021 06:20

I'm 9 weeks and I'm struggling a bit to work out if everything is ok. I'm still constantly nauseous and exhausted, but other than that it's so difficult to keep positive as there are no other signs. I am a bit bloated in the evenings but not much more than I was pre-pregnancy and i weigh exactly what i have always weighed - no weight gain at all. 12 week scan booked for 4 Feb but in the meantime the waiting is really screwing me up...

Firsttimemumm31 · 14/01/2021 06:30

@plebsticle I was exactly the same ... I still weigh the same as I did pre pregnancy and I'm 12 weeks. I've had a lot of nausea and my eating habits have changed so the midwife put it down to that. Don't worry too much, I wish I hadn't worried for the whole 12 weeks but I know what it's like!

WatermelonKisses · 14/01/2021 08:45

@plebsticle I wouldn't worry too much about not gaining weight, not everyone does in the first trimester at all.

@notveryrelaxed hope you get some answers today, that must have been a shock.

I'm with everyone on the 50 shades of beige food, I usually eat really healthily but all I want as salt and beige. Yesterday I had a bachelors Pasta n sauce for my lunch and it was glorious. Im also obsessed with white toast and chicken noodle cup a soups, just anything salty and beige! I'm still eating fruit and I'm having smoothies in the morning which I enjoy as it's ice cold. Mint humbugs throughout the day to help with the nausea!

Alittlexmasmagic · 14/01/2021 08:48

@WatermelonKisses I really want Pasta n Sauce now and it's too late to put on today's delivery 😭 I don't think I've had it in a decade, used to love them as a student.x

BertieBotts · 14/01/2021 09:14

I've been craving pot noodles Blush you can't get those here either so I had to have ramen cups with bisto and ketchup added :o

Littlejayx · 14/01/2021 09:33

Hi all!

Had my first scan yesterday and I’m 9 +5 and the sickness is slowly going!!!

I hope everyone is doing well and surviving on beige food too 😊

WatermelonKisses · 14/01/2021 09:39

@Alittlexmasmagic I know, I hadn't had one in years either! That's annoying you can't change it! Stock up next time.

@BertieBotts hahah, that's so funny you made your own!

Pregnancy powdered food cravings are real 😂

Miniheart · 14/01/2021 10:23

@Littlejayx that’s exciting! Pleased to hear all is well and the sickness is going.

Is anyone else struggling with waking in the night for the toilet and then struggling to get back to sleep. I was awake from 3-4:30am this morning 😖 so annoying!

The sleep thing has been with me weirdly since the day I found at I was pregnant! I wake up at least twice and then struggle to get back to sleep!

NotMeekNotObedient · 14/01/2021 10:46

Butter smells like onions to me too!

The food cravings are so odd.

Can't stand the thought of a leek right now. Dont want chicken.

I've also had a packet pasta thing and it so hit the spot!
