Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@Champson a good place to start is TAMBA. There's also a Multiple births section on MN.
It'll be so exciting for you. If your DH was anything like mine though, the first thing he'd be looking at was autotrader for a new car 😂 x

Omg @Champson congratulations! Amazing news. As a fellow IVF pregnancy, I know it's a relief when it works let alone when you get multiples!

@MrsB2019x what's the FB group called? I can't find on the thread and would like to join too!

@diamante11 congratulations! What a journey you've been on. I've also had IVF and have PCOS so know how hard it is. Sending loads of positive vibes your way!

I had my first scan today at 8+4 and saw the little prawn's heartbeat which was reassuring as I've felt so anxious. I couldn't stop crying! Now just three weeks until the NHS 12 week scan. I'm going to call the unit next week to see about partner's coming. I'm in a same-sex relationship and used my egg so I really would love my partner to be there to feel more connected to the pregnancy.

MrsB2019x · 05/01/2021 21:01

@BananaHammock23 It’s called ‘Sunday of Summer’. Congrats on your scan! How lovely 🥰

Champson · 05/01/2021 21:25
@Champson I can imagine you are scared, it is a huge undertaking! I’m sure you’ll nail it though. Your DH’s reaction is so sweet ☺️ I used to work on a maternity ward and a lady there gave birth to triplets, they managed to hang on until 35/36 weeks which was great! At least 2 of them were 4/5lbs plus so they did really well ☺️
Ahhh that's so nice and reassuring to hear!!! Thank you for that!!

Thisisbananas3 · 05/01/2021 21:27

@Champson early July!!!! Goodness how exciting! You’ve got this. I can’t even imagine how overwhelming that must be but you can do this!!! Oh and you can get all the cute baby grows in trios! Wishing you all the best Daffodil

@BananaHammock23 oh so lovely you can see the heartbeat! Countdown for the 12 weeks one, feels so long don’t you think? Mines not for another 4 weeks and I’ll be 13 weeks and 4 days at that point! Too impatient! I checked my trust’s website about having people in with you for scans etc.- I can have my birth partner attend scans and the birth, but not midwife appointments (which could be quite boring I suppose!). Hopefully there’ll be similar guidance on your trust’s website too :)

BertieBotts · 05/01/2021 21:29

I am considering asking a couple of friends if they will be back up birth partners in case DH needs to stay with DS2 during the birth. I just can't see how we'll get family out here to cover a potentially 5 week long time period and even if they can, DS2 doesn't know any of them because of bloody corona, only over a screen :(

Haha hilarious and so true!!! The second thing he said was: We need to get a people-carrier 🤣 Will definitely check out TAMBA and the MN section, thanks for the info!! xx

@Thisisbananas3 so very true on matching outfits!! Although I'm sure by that point I'll just be glad if they have any clean clothes on at all! ❤️

@BananaHammock23 Congrats on great scan result!! xx

Thisisbananas3 · 05/01/2021 21:52

@BertieBotts no harm asking! Damn covid making this a nuisance! At least then you’ll have peace of mind knowing that in the worst case you’ll still have someone to support you!

@Champson oh that comment made me lol and you make a good point! And hey a new car is pretty exciting too Star

Hey Ladies,
Don’t want to bring the tone of the thread down. But...Just to let you know I’m off the thread as had a missed miscarriage over Christmas. I’m two days out of having mva and recovering well. Best of luck to you all. Hopefully next time I’ll be staying in longer.
Take care of yourselves Flowers

MrsB2019x · 06/01/2021 08:38

I am so sorry @Pixieandpip, look after yourself 💙 xx

BertieBotts · 06/01/2021 09:16

So so sorry to hear that Pixie. All the best.

Lililou · 06/01/2021 10:00

I'm so sorry @Pixieandpip 💐

I'm fairly sure I miscarried last night. I'd been having red bleeds with small clots, I started getting fairly painful cramps and backache in the eve and passed a large clot. I'm due a scan today but not expecting good news.

Champson · 06/01/2021 10:28

Really sorry to hear it @Pixieandpip - take good care of yourself xx

And @Lililou really sorry to hear that too. Really hoping your scan isn't what you think, but take care of yourself too xxx

Sending you both lots of love

PeacockingAbout · 06/01/2021 10:46

So sorry to hear that @Pixieandpip, take care of yourself xx

Good luck @Lililou, I hope it is all ok.

Wow @Champson that's amazing news! Although a hell of a thing to hear on your own, sorry your DH couldn't be there!

Thats probably a good shout @BertieBotts, best to have a backup in case.

I've got my 12 week scan appointment through for 15th Feb (12 weeks on the nose), and been invited to download the maternity notes app but no MW appointment yet. Thankfully we can have one 'guest' at the scans. Need to come up with a ruse for my mum to take DS that morning.

Bit worried this morning though, I've had some brown discharge and I'm definitely concerned - i seem to have off the chain anxiety about this pregnancy in a way I just didn't with DS Hmm its probably nothing right? And as I've not got a MW yet I can't actually speak to anyone about it can I? It feels like overkill to call the EPU. I have some little crampy stabby pains in my pelvis, but I'm sure i had similar with DS. Just wish I could see in there and know 🤷‍♀️

Champson · 06/01/2021 10:53

@PeacockingAbout when i had spotting last week I called 111 and it really helped me feel better, maybe try that if you're worried? I'm sure it's nothing xx

Alittlexmasmagic · 06/01/2021 11:00

@PeacockingAbout just because you've not been "assigned" one yet doesn't mean you can't ring the community MW team and get some advice. If you don't get help from them, ring the EPU and see what they advise. They might put your mind at ease or they might think it important enough to warrant a visit.
A quick phone call to either is not on the same level as calling 999, do not feel like it's overkill by calling either very appropriate team. I do hope it turns out to be nothing major though xx

So sad to see this @Pixieandpip take care and get lots of rest x

MrsB2019x · 06/01/2021 13:18

Good luck for today @Lililou, hopefully the bleeding is being caused by something else 💙 will be thinking of you x

WinterBabyof89 · 06/01/2021 13:56

@Pixieandpip so sorry to hear this xx

@Lililou handholding for today xx

littleeggcup · 06/01/2021 14:42

@PeacockingAbout

Hey, thought I'd just let you know that I have had brown spotting too. Started Monday morning when I had a wee and was a lot on tissue. Had a scan that night privately as was freaking out- baby measured perfectly at 7weeks and heartbeat was great too.

I had a bit more yesterday but nothing today yet. I just spoke to my midwife and she was to not panic at all- it could be because I have a cervical ectropian- which I have been diagnosed with again this pregnancy as had it with my son. It could be old blood that's been dislodged xxx

Smallbean27 · 06/01/2021 16:18

On my private scan they said i have a small haematoma, so if i get spotting its likely that. Baby had a heartbeat and said everything else was fine.
Try not to worry! It seems common to get spotting just not mentioned on many websites xx

Lililou · 06/01/2021 17:01

Thank you for the handholding and well wishing today. Unfortunately the bad news was confirmed at the scan. 😞
