When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

I'm in total shock. Had a scan today (7+2) at our IVF clinic - turns out there are THREE babies Shock.

We only had two embryos, so put both in and one was struggling at the time! Apparently one of them split, so two of the babies are identical twins. I completely forgot my DH's aunties are twins until just now. TERRIFIED but getting excited. And dying for a drink now!

Today's scan was private-ish and DH couldn't come in Sad. He waited in the car park for the FaceTime with the big news.

And to @Lililou - I had a bit of bleeding last Friday night too with cramping over the past few days and everything looked fine today. You never know. Sending you loads of prayers and best wishes xx

buckingmad · 05/01/2021 15:25

@TedLife I have my 12 week scan next Tuesday! I am due 25th July based off my LMP but I know I ovulated about a week late so I think I will likely have an august baby too. I also had a scan at 7 weeks and saw heart beat and sac etc and all good.

haidri · 05/01/2021 15:31

@Champson you've got double happiness coming your way mamaaaa

MrsB2019x · 05/01/2021 15:48

Holy cow @Champson! That’s amazing, congratulations! How did your DH take the news?

MrsB2019x · 05/01/2021 15:50

Not sure who runs the FB group but I’ve just requested to join, I have a black & white wedding profile picture ☺️

Alittlexmasmagic · 05/01/2021 15:55

@Champson that's amazing news!! I remember the feeling hearing twin news but triplets, you must have felt like your legs had been taken from under you? It's bad your DH couldn't be there.
Good news is you'll have tonnes of extra monitoring, so hopefully he can be present at those x

Oh my goodness!! Very exciting!!
biscuitcat · 05/01/2021 16:22

Oh wow @Champson that's wonderful and scary!

My hospital has confirmed that partners can still come to scans even with the new lockdown, I hope everyone else gets similar news - I don't know if I'm being over optimistic but it feels as though there might be more of an acknowledgement and understanding of how important being supported is than back in March

NotMeekNotObedient · 05/01/2021 16:47

@champson wow! Huge congratulations! Big surprise!

I had a friend say she dreamt I had had twins (she doesn't know I'm pregnant) and DH's Nan keeps asking when we are going to bring the babies...she also doesn't know we are pregnant (dementia so could be she's seen two babies on TV for all we know Confused).

God not sure how I'd cope with two let alone three what a wonderful adventure you have ahead!

Thisisbananas3 · 05/01/2021 16:47

@Lililou hope all okay xxxx

@TedLife welcome and congratulations Smile

@Champson 3 babies!!!! That must have been a surprise! How are you feeling?! How is your DH?! Ohhhh I’m excited for you! Do you think that’s likely to bring your due date forward- my friend with twins had them a few weeks early, wonder if itll be the same for you?

How is everyone doing? I am very down with sickness, hoping to get some sleep tonight!

BertieBotts · 05/01/2021 16:56

Triplets, wow! Will you have to have loads of monitoring now?

I am still feeling crappy with sickness too but no more sudden pukes thank goodness! It seems to come and go, I have taken to wearing a mask when I change putrid toddler nappies :o

Hello everybody,

I've been trying to conceive for 17 years, had 3 very early miscarriages all really far apart, last one was last summer (2019). Had ivf twice which didn't work and have pcos.

I'm 39 now and for the last 3 years a regular cycle which is great as it makes it easier to try naturally, hence the pregnancy last year.

I did a test on Christmas Day and was shocked to see those 2 lines ❤️.

I'm currently 6 weeks and hoping this is "the one"

Everything up until now seems ok, and I will see the doctor once I get to around 8/9 weeks.

Due date approx 31/8/21

Sending love and best wishes to everybody ❤️

notinthestarsigns · 05/01/2021 17:15

I’m starting to feel like every time I get pregnant there is a lockdown! The March lockdown got announced the day of my booking in appointment in my last pregnancy. I was then high risk from 12 weeks and barely left the house apart from to go to hospital appointments until giving birth after the baby’s heart stopped beating at 20 weeks, and now I am pregnant again and here we are in another lockdown!

I am just hoping the position with partners attending scans is better this time round. Our Trust’s current position is that they will let partners in as long as they have a negative covid test in the 24 hours before, so hopefully it stays that way!

MrsB2019x · 05/01/2021 17:19

Same @notinthestarsigns, I found out I was pregnant at the beginning of the last lockdown (then spent peak COVID weekend in A&E with an ectopic 🙄) then conceived this one in the November lockdown! So sorry for your loss 💙 Hopefully your antenatal care is better this time around and you can be better supported

notinthestarsigns · 05/01/2021 17:28

Thanks @MrsB2019x, sorry for your loss too, ectopic must have been scary. Let’s hope all goes well this time x

Alittlexmasmagic · 05/01/2021 17:35

@diamante11 keeping everything crossed for you.

@notinthestarsigns if the rules change, pull every string possible. Speak to your bereavement MW if possible or anyone involved with your last pregnancy to get permission for him to be there. This is what I intend on doing if anything changes xx

notinthestarsigns · 05/01/2021 17:49

Thanks @Alittlexmasmagic, I will do. My bereavement midwife has been good so far, I only had to ring her up and she has arranged the early scan without me having to go through the usual referral processes. Then all being well I should be under fetal medicine again from 12 weeks. I have a letter from the debrief with the consultant which details a plan for future pregnancy so just need to make sure that happens now! Hope you are getting on ok, it’s so hard after a late loss isn’t it. I struggled over Christmas and New Year but being back at work has been a good distraction x

Thisisbananas3 · 05/01/2021 18:01

@BertieBotts I do not envy you at all with the nappies! Glad you’re feeling better

@diamante11 congratulations!!! What a Christmas gift!!!! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy xx

@MrsB2019x and @notinthestarsigns fingers crossed for you both!

Alittlexmasmagic · 05/01/2021 18:06

@notinthestarsigns I doubt I'll be under FMU as it was a very specific set of circumstances which led to my loss. I'll see what the MW says at my booking in and maybe go from there. I know what you mean about struggling. They say lightning doesn't strike twice but you can't help worry that you were unlucky once, so what's stopping you being unlucky again x

Oh my gosh @Champson that’s incredible news. Wishing all four of you a safe pregnancy journey! Safe to say you will be giving birth before August!!

Miniheart · 05/01/2021 20:25

@Champson that’s incredible news! Congratulations!

@diamante11 a little Christmas miracle, keeping everything crossed for you!

@MrsB2019x and @notinthestarsigns thinking of you both and wishing you all the best for this pregnancy. May this be your year!

Champson · 05/01/2021 20:26

Thanks everyone - a total shock. I am so scared and feels like my whole life has changed in one instant. Who knows what will happen, but so nice to have you all be so positive about it!! So thank you!

@MrsB2019x DH was amazing about it - I told him he needed to sit down first. He kinda said: "WHAAT?! Wow..... THREE?!... That's wonderful!" Love that man.

@Thisisbananas3 Yes definitely expecting before my official due date of 22 August - more like early July if they can hang on that long, fingers crossed. Feeling terrified and out of my depth. Googled all the bad stuff about triplets - all the increased risks of everything to them and me. Not a good place to start, so not doing that anymore. And yes @BertieBotts, definitely lots more monitoring - like a scan every other week until 24 weeks then every week I think??? That is a nice bonus to it all.

@Alittlexmasmagic - totally legs taken. Will need some tips for dealing with multiples Shock

@diamante11 - so happy for you, congrats!!!

MrsB2019x · 05/01/2021 20:30

@Champson I can imagine you are scared, it is a huge undertaking! I’m sure you’ll nail it though. Your DH’s reaction is so sweet ☺️ I used to work on a maternity ward and a lady there gave birth to triplets, they managed to hang on until 35/36 weeks which was great! At least 2 of them were 4/5lbs plus so they did really well ☺️

Gamechanger2019 · 05/01/2021 20:37

@Champson lovely news!!! Congrats xx

notinthestarsigns · 05/01/2021 20:42

Congratulations @Champson, how exciting!!!!
