Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@Thisisbananas3 It's the pregnacare ones I take. Not noticed anything like what you are experiencing though. Not yet anyway...

Thisisbananas3 · 31/12/2020 13:31

@Alittlexmasmagic thank you, I’ll try own brand ones.

@FeelingBlessedx I’m sticking to separate folic acid too I think.

@MumToBeMaz hopefully you won’t get nausea but if you do might be worth trying different vitimins!

Interesting that others have said similar though, thought it might be in my head- I’ll give it a google as sure there must be threads on it.

Hope you all have a lovely NYE!

Pregnacare have had that reputation for 12 years now when I was pregnant with DS1 I'm sure I heard it online! You think they would change the formula.

I just take folic acid and vit d. Much cheaper for a start and it's unclear whether the other stuff is even needed.

I do the same! Just folic acid and vit D - so far so good! Also means I haven't had to buy anything extra as was raking these when TTC
Thisisbananas3 · 31/12/2020 16:56

@BertieBotts yeah now I’ve googled I’ve seen loads of threads about it going back a while. Never occurred to me to check that it wouldn’t make me sick!

@ame88 I’ll follow suit I think! You live and learn.

Do you guys have any suggestions for laxatives that might work Blush im getting desperate, am so constipated. I’ve tried ex lax, senakot and califig. I’m trying fybogel but really struggling to drink it as sickness is still really bad and I can’t down any drink and it keeps thickening up. It’s been 5 days now...

K2a0t1i5e · 31/12/2020 18:06

@Thisisbananas3 Senakot isn't recommended in pregnancy, I've been given suppositories, lactulose and laxido. Ask you doctor for them on prescription as you will get them for free.

Thisisbananas3 · 31/12/2020 18:25

@K2a0t1i5e thank you very much (eek noted re senakot!) I’ll contact drs as soon as they’re open.

Thanks again and hope they work for you x

Hi All,

A bit behind with the thread. Lovely to see so many scan pics.

My local hospital has said partners can now attend the 12 week scan so I think I'll wait for that, rather than booking a private.

Not heard back about booking appointment and am now nearly 8 weeks. I guess Xmas has delayed things but if I don't hear next week I'm going to call just to check my referral form has actually been looked at.

I'm feeling nauseous 24/7. Been feeling sick since about a week before missed period but worse now. Not actually thrown up and eating, if a bit strangely, so that's good. Got some seabands from the chemist today but not sure if they work or not. Also having a nap most days. So glad I'm wfh as cant imagine commuting like this.

BananaHammock23 · 31/12/2020 21:43

@Thisisbananas3 I had such bad constipation after my egg collection (we had IVF) that I didn't think I'd be able to have the embryo put in.

I had to take Lactulose morning and night and had 6x Movicol sachets one after the other to clear it it. I still have one sachet morning and night and take the Lactulose because I'm so scared of getting like that again! I was sooo uncomfortable and poorly. Hope you get some relief soon!!

BananaHammock23 · 31/12/2020 21:44

Also has anyone found that their nausea comes and goes? I haven't had any since Boxing Day and I'm really worried :( I was having it daily before that. We've got our 8 week scan on Tuesday so hoping all is ok then and I can relax a bit

DressyGerbera · 31/12/2020 22:48

Hello all! I am new to this thread - got a positive test recently (FTM) and NHS online calculator suggests a due date of 3rd week of August but as my cycle wasn't regular I am really not sure. My first scan is late January, that feels a bit late?? I hope you are all doing well.

Miniheart · 31/12/2020 22:52

@NotMeekNotObedient yes that’s the same for our local hospital too. Hope it stays that way. I hadn’t heard back from the hospital about my booking appointment etc so I phoned them and I was on their system and they gave me all my appointment dates over the phone and said the letter is in the post. So it may be worth you giving them a call. I’m feeling exactly the same nausea and tiredness-wise. Back to work on Monday and dreading feeling this way whilst not at home!

Jessicapebbles · 01/01/2021 00:24

Happy New Year everyone. I don’t know about any of you but I sat and sobbed at the relief of it being over....

BertieBotts · 01/01/2021 07:52

I couldn't stay awake, I was in bed at half past ten! My 12yo stayed up but I didn't :o

Miniheart · 01/01/2021 08:35

Happy New Year everyone! We survived the Christmas and New Year celebrations! Hope you’re all feeling ok 😊

Firsttimemumm31 · 01/01/2021 08:58

Happy new year everyone 🎉

BrandyM · 01/01/2021 10:17

Happy new year everyone!

@GoodBurger how did your scan go?

Smallbean27 · 01/01/2021 10:49

Bit late to this! Due in August (not sure on date as irregular periods), having early scan soon! Think im about 7 weeks, hoping everything goes ok - 1st timer.
Sore boobs for 3 weeks, frequent napping and nausea is off/on.

BrandyM · 01/01/2021 11:09

@VWGolfmk2 we are due on the same day (20th Aug here too). Hope you're feeling well? I'm currently struggling with food aversions, nausea and vomiting. I'm grateful for these symptoms but wish it wasn't too intense! X

BrandyM · 01/01/2021 11:11

@Charli1989 how did your scan go? X

ame88 · 02/01/2021 08:07

How is everyone today? I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and counting down the days till private scan (will be 8+2) - it just doesn't feel real to me yet! One of my oldest friends just announced her pregnancy (due in July) and I can't wait to tell her I'm pregnant too!

BertieBotts · 02/01/2021 08:19

Ah that's lovely, it's nice when you're due with a friend.

biscuitcat · 02/01/2021 11:48

Hope everyone is feeling OK! Despite nothing being open I managed to be really busy over Christmas and feel like I've missed loads here!

I've been worrying that my sickness seems to have subsided, but I'm tired beyond belief and my boobs are killing me, which I'm hoping is a good sign...

How did telling people over Christmas go, for those who did? Telling my family was lovely! My in-laws were all on holiday together (they don't live in the UK) and had almost no signal so we ended up telling them by sending the early scan photo over WhatsApp and will speak when they get home in the next couple of days I think!! So that was a bit of an anticlimax!

PeacockingAbout · 02/01/2021 14:52

Happy new year everyone! All going well - we're all having a baby this year 😁

We're not telling anyone til the 12 week scan, as I wouldn't want to share if it went wrong - but one advantage of Tier 4, its not exactly difficult to hide!

Still waiting for my midwife referral and booking in appt to come through, our post is hugely messed up so it might be in the post and I'm in London so the hospitals are a bit busy atm 😷 so I'll give it another week before chasing. I’ve referred to the homebirth team as I had them last time and they were incredible, even though I ended up with a hospital birth. Hoping to try for a VBAC at home this time.... maybe 😅

Good luck to everyone with scans!!
