First-timer here - Just a little question on breast changes.... has anyone ever had like a very slightly red and raised patch on a boob during pregnancy? It's not a lump, it kinda looked like a very mild bug bite and now has gotten better that it's just a bit red. I obviously have a dodgy history with boobs, so being extra paranoid!! One of my boobs is a bit itchy too, but assume that's normal. Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

Jessicapebbles · 30/12/2020 15:20

@Firsttimemumm31 Hey! Thank you. Yes they were really good and the midwife rang the hospital whilst I was there and got me booked in for my 12 week scan and screening on the 22nd January..maybe you could call them to give them a nudge? Baby dust to you! Xx

Firsttimemumm31 · 30/12/2020 15:24

@Jessicapebbles that's really good! I had my booking appt 23rd December so I'm hoping I'll get a letter soon 💕

MumToBeMaz · 30/12/2020 16:27

Hey ladies, hope you're all doing well.
I had a bit of a scare last night. Although now that I think about it I believe it was just really low blood pressure.

Casually watching telly and suddenly felt the urge to go to the toilet, then while I was on the loo I started throwing up uncontrollably. Then the heat came from my toes and I thought I was going to faint. Threw myself in the bath and called my boyfriend to turn the shower on to cold and just run it over my legs. Then I had an awful take your breath away stomach pain that lasted about 15 mins. Called the triage and they brought me in to check me over.

After my miscarriage back in October I was sure they were only going to tell me bad news. But all my HCG levels are great and my cervix is still closed. I couldn't believe it.

I know I'm not out the woods yet, still very early but they are bringing me in for a scan tomorrow just to completely rule out ectopic.

Exhausted today, been on such an emotional rollercoaster.

Miniheart · 30/12/2020 16:39

Sounds horrible and quite scary @MumToBeMaz Hope you are feeling better today. All the best for your scan tomorrow, sending lots of positive vibes.

Alittlexmasmagic · 30/12/2020 16:51

@MumToBeMaz that sounds horrendous! Glad it seems to be nothing too serious. Hope the scan goes well.x

@Champson I've had seriously itchy boobs in early pregnancy which was hormone related. You'll get small raised (worth googling to see examples) but anything you're even remotely concerned about is always worth getting checked out x

MumToBeMaz · 30/12/2020 16:51

I was terrified that something bad was happening, but I think that made me panic a bit more.

Looking back on it I definitely think it was low blood pressure but glad they got me in to take blood and that I'm getting a scan tomorrow. Will hopefully ease the anxiety a bit.

Champson · 30/12/2020 17:45

@Alittlexmasmagic yes definitely- I already had it checked last week by my onc who said it was likely nothing but booked me in for biopsy anyway in a few weeks - which I’m to cancel if it goes away. Just curious if anyone else had anything like this during pregnancy is all to try and ease my mind!!

@MumToBeMaz really sorry to hear about your experience must’ve been really frightening!!! So glad to hear you’ve got a plan - scan tomorrow. Best of luck and keep us posted!

FeelingBlessedx · 30/12/2020 17:59

Scan went really well was able to hear the heart and see it wriggle 🤗 measured 8 weeks+4 :)

BertieBotts · 30/12/2020 18:34

That sounds awful! Glad you are feeling OK now.

I'm really struggling with the groundhog day ness of lockdown and even this xmas-nye thing. Just feels so hopeless and every day is so slow. I know it will pass but it's taking so long.

BananaHammock23 · 30/12/2020 18:40

Hi all! Hope you don't mind me joining. I'm 7+5 with my first after IVF. Have added my due date to the list!

@FeelingBlessedx so glad to hear your scan went well! I'll be 8+4 when I have my first scan next week so hoping I'll be able to see the same!!

Champson · 30/12/2020 18:41

@BertieBotts omg me too. Dying. I really need a change of scenery!!!! I even suggested to some of our neighbours that we do a house swap for a week just to have different walls to look at Grin

@FeelingBlessedx amazing!!!! Congrats! Blush

Cordial11 · 30/12/2020 18:51

Can I join Smile

This is my first and a suprise so I don't know much of the acrynms or language. Pretty clueless actually Grin

Estimated 6+5 due 20th August. Had blood test results this AM and at 5000 hcg. Dating scan being booked week commencing 11th. I could have it next week but will wait in the hope of seeing more.

Not been sick once?! Just very very tired and diarrhoea .
Hope I continue to escape morning sickness Grin

MellaY · 30/12/2020 19:15

Might jump on this!

6+5 due on the 20th of August. It's my first and its not quite sunk it yet as it was a complete surprise.

Currently victim to permanent nausea and hunger which is a strange combination Confused
I think everyone at works convinced I'm on a new year health kick after quitting smoking, stopping drinking coffee (mostly) and actually bothering to eat more than once a day

Miniheart · 30/12/2020 19:36

Congrats @FeelingBlessedx, so exciting that you heard the heart beat! Do you know if around 8 weeks is the best time to pay for a private scan? I’m 6 weeks tomorrow so guessing I should wait a bit longer or hold out until my 12 week scan in Feb but it feels so long away!

@BertieBotts I hear you! Hope you are feeling ok. I feel like time is passing slowly and I usually love NYE but it certainly won’t be the same this year. At least we don’t have to avoid any social situations where we would otherwise be drinking.

@Cordial11 I’m 6 days behind you not not even had my booking appt yet. Good that they’ve been speedy with yours. No sick for me either but waves of nausea similar to what @MellaY has described!

FeelingBlessedx · 30/12/2020 19:41

I'm not sure I know you can deffo see more at 8 weeks our scan was pretty clear I had a scan in previous pregnancy at 6 weeks and didnt see alot but did have the reassurance of a heart beat then too just not via sound. This time at 8 weeks we can see the outline of the shape of the baby its still a little bean like but can start to see a head shape and nubs for arms saw it wriggle to which was lovely :) the private scan stated on their website anytime from 7 weeks so we went with 8 just to make sure we could see enough:) I would deffo call if your going private and see what they say :)

Miniheart · 30/12/2020 19:49

@FeelingBlessedx sounds incredible and so special. It’s very tempting to go private just for the reassurance. Thanks for sharing.

FeelingBlessedx · 30/12/2020 19:53

No problem happy to help:)

Cordial11 · 30/12/2020 22:44

@Miniheart I am English but I don't live in the UK , I was speaking to my mum (we told) and she was so shocked at the care so far. It is brilliant here I feel lucky . I only found out Saturday!

@MellaY oh we are the same!!!!

I also have back acne and bad chin acne ... so I look a delight Grin

MumToBeMaz · 31/12/2020 11:44

Had the scan today to rule out ectopic and all looks great.
They said they can see a fetal pole and yolk sac. (I dunno if my eyes are that good, haha)

Measuring where I should be, HCG levels are great! Feels like a relief but I'm still nervous because it's so early. Wish I could fast forward a few weeks.

How are you all doing today?

Miniheart · 31/12/2020 12:19

Great news @MumToBeMaz! So pleased for you. Hopefully the little one continues to go from strength to strength.

I’ve got nasty nausea today... trying to get passed it so I can do some cooking for later. It’ll certainly be a bit of different NYE this year, for more reasons than one!

Thisisbananas3 · 31/12/2020 12:28

Hi everyone,

How is everyone feeling?

Random question- is anyone taking pregnacare? I’ve noticed my nausea got x10 worse after taking (as per the instructions, with food etc). I haven’t taken them for 4 days taking folic acid and vit d and I’m feeling considerably less sick? Is that in my head or could that be a thing?

@MumToBeMaz ah that’s great, everything crossed for you.

Anyone else relieved we can’t celebrate NYE properly this year? I can’t stay up much later than 10pm Grin would have been a real party pooper lol

Alittlexmasmagic · 31/12/2020 12:34

@Thisisbananas3 not personally but I know of people who have reacted. I'm taking Boots own brand and have done for most of previous pregnancies so sticking with it x

OP posts:
FeelingBlessedx · 31/12/2020 12:36

@thisisbananas I had to stop taking my pregnancy vitamins they definitely made me feel awful I stopped for two weeks and nausea did settle still there but I'm not in bed all day now🙄 I've started to just take folic acid now and seem to be okay so far
