Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

I'm so sorry to hear that @treesall. Fingers crossed Jan is your month. All the best xxx

BrandyM · 27/12/2020 13:03

@PurplePops great news on your scan! It must have been such a relief to see the heartbeat! Did you hear it too or was it too early for that? This is my first pregnancy so Ive got no idea at what point you can hear the heartbeat. My first scan is on Wednesday (6+5) and getting a bit nervous by the day 😊 xx

PurplePops · 27/12/2020 14:18

@BrandyM it really was a relief and made the whole thing feel more real. I didn't get to hear it, I think it must have been too early but seeing it was amazing. I was definitely feeling really nervous leading up to it too, I'm sure everything will be fine though, will be thinking of you! Let us know how it goes xx

BrandyM · 27/12/2020 16:16

@littleeggcup how did your scan go? You're 3 days ahead of me on due date. Exciting times! Hope it all went smoothly for you xxx

Jessicapebbles · 27/12/2020 18:10

Hello ladies!

Hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas no matter how small (ours was just our family and we had a lovely day). I wanted to ask a question to those of your with subsequent children... This baby is my 2nd (although 4th pregnancy) and I am 8 weeks and 3 days. The last 2/3 days I have been getting what I can only describe as popcorn popping in my lower abdomen/uterus area and I’ve no gas whatsoever!...Is it too early to assume my little one could potentially be hopping around a bit? Would love to hear your own experiences. X

littleeggcup · 27/12/2020 18:21

@BrandyM hello! Scan was good- I have a really curved uterus so it took them a while to find anything! So that was very scary. But it's in my uterus :) going back Thursday 31st to see if there's a heartbeat! Will be 6wk tomorrow xx

FeelingBlessedx · 27/12/2020 19:13

@jessicapebbles yes I have this I'm almost 8 weeks now this is my 3rd baby I have no idea what it is but :)

BrandyM · 27/12/2020 19:32

@littleeggcup So happy the scan went well!! Ectopic pregnancy is one of my biggest fears so it must have been such a relief to know it's in the uterus. Good luck on Thursday and let us know how it goes xx

BertieBotts · 27/12/2020 21:31

Yes defo too early to be baby I'm afraid - they are only about 1cm long and right down under your pubic bone still :) It's wind. You never realise just how much wind you have until after you get pregnant Hmm

IME when you can feel the "pops" travelling in a consistent direction it's intestine movement (yay) but later on when you feel baby movement it's more random and in different directions. I have felt both of mine from 12 weeks which is supposed to be too early, but I'm absolutely certain of it.

Merrz · 28/12/2020 08:00

Hi can I join? Due no 2 (DD will be 2 next month) around 28th of August. How's everyone doing? I told DH on xmas day which was lovely

Jessicapebbles · 28/12/2020 08:16

@BertieBotts Sorry I’ve no idea what IME means 😂 but I know what your saying, I felt movement from 12 weeks with my first so thinking this one will be similar!

@Merrz Oh how lovely to tell him on Christmas Day. I bet he was happy with that present! We told my in-laws on Christmas Day and my MIL cried bless her!

BertieBotts · 28/12/2020 11:46

Oh in my experience, sorry!

My MIL cried too :) But I spoke to my dad yesterday and just didn't feel it was the right moment to say anything :/

Jessicapebbles · 28/12/2020 12:56

@BertieBotts. Bless her! I’m in the same position with my Dad...my mum passed away a year ago in January so I don’t want to add emotion to a time of year that already is going to carry a lot of it. I’ll tell him in February once I’ve had my 12 week scan etc.

Morning sickness has done me over today 😭

Maisie73 · 28/12/2020 13:35

Hi all,

I’m due 10th August 2021.
I miscarried in 2016 and this is my first positive test since trying again. I suffer from Endometriosis and also had a Lletz procedure to remove a small part of my cervix last year. Was more nervous than excited then I saw the positive line - but have been suffering terrible symptoms, sore boobs, nausea, vomiting and now diagnosed with HG - which I can only see as a positive. Strong pregnancy I hope! Trying to get excited now. My partner has 2 from a previous relationship but this is my first. My HG is making life hard, I’ve been off work and in bed/bathroom floor for the last 3 weeks and over Christmas. Emotions are all over the shop. Here to support and be supported! X

Kat8019 · 28/12/2020 14:06

Hi everyone, I’m due 10th August with my third. I don’t know why but I’m a nervous wreck this time round. I’ve had uncomplicated pregnancies previously but this time I feel anxious. I’m 40 and feeling really nauseous all day everyday and so exhausted every time I sit down with the kids I fall asleep - like a really bad hangover. Does anyone else have this? It’s making me feel fluey but no temperature thankfully! Hoping when this passes and if all okay with first scan I’ll start to feel abit more excited.
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas x

FeelingBlessedx · 28/12/2020 14:26

@kat8019 I feel exactly like this I have 2 children too and feel awful I've spent days in bed. However today I feel a bit human and over the last couple of days it has settled where I've managed to sit downstairs. My two previous pregnancies were a breeze this time I'm suffering I feel your pain I'm due 11th

Kat8019 · 28/12/2020 14:58

@ FeelingBlessedx sorry to hear your suffering too! Good to know it’s normal though. Good job I’m working remotely at least. How old are your other 2? Mine are 5 and 3 and i must admit I’m nervous about telling them xx

FeelingBlessedx · 28/12/2020 15:31

Mine r 5 and 9 we have a scan wed so I'm going to tell mine then :) yes definitely nice to hear other people feeling the same very reassuring:)

K2a0t1i5e · 28/12/2020 16:29

Hi Please can I joint your tread, I’m around 5+6 or 6 weeks today as I did my trigger injection 4 weeks ago today to bring on ovulation. I have my early scan tomorrow morning and I’m so nervous after failed pregnancies (1 was 2 years ago and 1 last month) both only stuck for around a week. This month I’m on Progesterone peas Aries and so far that seems to be helping but I’m so nervous for tomorrow!

BertieBotts · 28/12/2020 16:34

Kati yep, welcome to the first trimester, it's bloody awful Envy < not envy!

I bought an assortment of sour, salty, ginger and mint things today to see me through hopefully!

Miniheart · 28/12/2020 18:55

Hello hopeful mum’s to be!

So pleased to have found this thread and have found it really helpful to read all your posts and experiences. Hope it’s ok to join.

I’m 5 weeks + 4 with my first and like others feel a whole range of emotions! We decided to tell one close best friend on Boxing Day but other than that we plan to keep quiet and not speak to anyone including our families until the 12 week scan.

I’m interested to know whether people would recommend an early private scan just for reassurance? Also for those who have self referred to hospital, how long did it take for you to hear back? I referred on 23rd Dec and not had any kind of confirmation email so wondering if that’s normal or whether the Xmas break might be the reason.

Also how did people go about choosing their hospital? I’m in London and have options and I’m leaning towards going to one where covid restrictions a loosened to allow partners into scans as I’ve seen others are quite strict. Would welcome any thoughts and look forward to hopefully sharing this journey with you all. @Randomtasks I also bought a shed load of booze for Xmas only to find out I was pregnant a few days later... not ideal timing!

Hello! Waves. Due date 20th August here, with my second baby. Any other second (or more!) time mums struggling to distinguish between first trimester exhaustion and sleep deprivation from crap toddler sleep? 🥴

K2a0t1i5e · 28/12/2020 19:54

I'm a second time mum (child 5yrs), with secondary infertility so my early scan is with the private clinic as part of our aftercare because of previous failed pregnancies. Think I'm going to pay for a private early one at 9 weeks though to ease my worry and anxiety if everything's ok tomorrow that is. My due date is 23rd I think, has anyone else been given cyclogest (progesterone) since ovulation?

FeelingBlessedx · 28/12/2020 20:30

Can I get people's honest opinions I usually colour my hair in previous pregnancies I mananged to get away with not dying it however I'm a lot more grey that 5 years ago is it genuinely safe to colour hair or not I've always had mixed opinions previously so just let the colour grow out

Alittlexmasmagic · 28/12/2020 21:04

@FeelingBlessedx I've always had mine coloured in pregnancies. Just make sure your hairdresser knows. Mine won't use bleach during pregnancy but will use a high lift tint etc. Some won't put colour direct on scalp etc. but would prefer to use foils etc.x
