Hi everyone,
just hoping to get as many people in one thread as possible. More scope for sharing knowledge, concerns or worries. Wishing everyone the best of luck on this journey.
When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@tiinab I'm pretty much symptomless so far but previous pregnancies the nausea has always hit at night so I'm waiting for it to develop. Try sleeping with a pillow between you knees x

I had it for a few days that it came after eating then a few days of feeling Okei and now we'll see how long this night time nausea lasts. I am trying not to freak out over the coming and going of symptoms though but it is hard not to think the worst always as first ever pregnancy so nothing to compare it with.

BertieBotts · 25/12/2020 09:19

I'd recommend to keep up with exercise as much as you can, it is supposed to help with labour later if you're relatively fit.

Just a brisk walk 3x a week should be fine. Don't start anything more intense than you're used to doing.

BertieBotts · 25/12/2020 09:22

So so normal for symptoms to come and go. Try and enjoy the respite from them when they're gone instead of worrying!

Thanks for the encouragement. This is the first time ever I wish google would not exist as I think I would be way more calm without it. My husband sometimes already grabs my phone away when I tell him that google said this or that 😂

Happy Christmas everyone! 🎄🎅 Anyone else breaking the big news to anyone today? We're going to be telling OH's parents.

They're very emotional people and I'm not so I'm pretty sure they're all going to start crying and I'm going to be stood there like a lemon 🍋 , part of me just wants to get it over with. Tried not too think about it much as it just makes me feel sick. It's going to feel very real admitting it to someone besides you guys. 😳 I've quite enjoyed it being our little secret.

Wish me luck!

Nimie · 25/12/2020 17:18

Survived Christmas without anyone knowing 🙈 anyone else? Once I'm back home I can go back to my pjs 😂

Opal99 · 25/12/2020 21:29

Merry Christmas everyone!

@Lililou hope your announcement went well!

We told our parents over video call today, we got our daughter to tell them that she was going to be a big sister, they were blown away. Felt lovely to impart some hope and happiness at the end of this year. It feels so much more real now.

Randomtasks · 26/12/2020 09:30

Hi ladies, please can I join? Smile

I'm 5+2 with my first, we found out a week ago (after I'd already bought loads of lovely booze for Christmas but ah well) and I'm flirting between almost maniacal excitement and terrified!

Weve decided to keep it to ourselves until closer to 12 weeks in case something goes wrong so yesterday I was on the nosecco as a foil while the in laws were here (tier 2)

I've made an appointment with the midwife and booked in for my flu jab, but other than that I'm not sure what to do now! Think this January is going to be the longest ever.

Merry Christmas and congratulations to everyone on their pregnancies x

Alittlexmasmagic · 26/12/2020 10:10

@Firegirl35 hope you're okay?x

@PurplePops how did you scan go? X

SS123456 · 26/12/2020 11:45

Has anyone else had any pink spotting at 5 weeks? It has only been when wiping but I'm freaking out a bit as I mc'd in October

PurplePops · 26/12/2020 12:21

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well and all had a lovely Christmas! 🎄 sorry I haven't been keeping up with the thread much recently with all the chaos of Christmas haha. We have been telling close family over the last few days which has been lovely but nerve wrecking.

@BrandyM thanks for asking about the scan, it went really well and we saw the heartbeat! ❤ im measuring exactly as expected too so due date still 10th August.

I had my booking appointment with the midwife on Christmas eve so starting to feel much more real now xx

Thanks @BertieBotts great advice. I’m out once a day with the dog walking anyway so that should do it. I’d been doing daily yoga in the month leading up to pregnancy so wanting to continue that as much as possible too without pushing it. Only other thing is I was running 5k per week, (and twice a week in Nov!) but was told only gentle exercise so stopped that. 😢

Lots of kiegels though using Baby2Body app, and the Philipps Pregnancy+ one for the nice pics and size comparison by fruit, sweets and animals. Anyone else have any good apps they recommend?

Alittlexmasmagic · 26/12/2020 13:59

@Champson not so much an app but I definitely recommend setting up a new hotmail email to send all the baby spam to. If you register for things like Emma's Diary and Bounty, you can get lots of freebies but also inundated with promo stuff. At some point register for Boots parenting club too, 10pts back for all baby purchases and free stuff occasionally too x

@Alittlexmasmagic GREAT tips thanks!! I’m all about the free stuff Grin What are Emma’s Diary and Bounty?

Firegirl35 · 26/12/2020 15:54

@Alittlexmasmagic sorry I’ve been quiet have had a lot going on in my head, combined with depression/sadness at my situation, intense sickness, and not wanting to throw a downer on anyone here :( :(

I’m lost and I’ve just posted on “pregnancy choices” as my partner is against us having the baby and really thinks I’m going to have a termination on Dec 29th. You can read more on that thread, I didn’t think it appropriate to post here. I’m still torn

Firegirl hugs! It sounds like a really tough situation. I will come and see if I can help on your other thread.

I'd be cautious about Bounty etc - consider waiting until 12 weeks to join as they are notorious for keeping sending emails/post to women who've miscarried, which can obviously be distressing. The better freebies are later on anyway. I used to love trawling the MoneySavingExpert family pages when I had DS1 :) Loads of deals on there.

Champson I think it's generally OK to continue with exercise up to the intensity you're used to. But obviously if you feel any effects from it e.g. faint/sick/lightheaded then take it easy. I struggle even just walking up hills Hmm don't know what my body does with my energy!

Firsttimemumm31 · 26/12/2020 18:02

@Firegirl35 Sorry to hear that you are having a tough time especially at this time of year xx

buckingmad · 27/12/2020 12:00

I’ve been carrying on as normal exercise wise. I have a dog and a horse and neither of them understand I feel like rubbish so they still need sorting out daily! I do find I get out of breath quicker and my muscles ache too.

BrandyM · 27/12/2020 12:37

@treesall how are you doing? Did you get a darker line in the end? X

treesall · 27/12/2020 12:50

@BrandyM sadly it was a chemical. The line stayed the same for 4 days, then my P turned up. Then that night the line was really dark but I knew it couldn't be because it was a full blown P. Negative the next morning so hoping for better luck in Jan. Thanks for thinking of me x
