When I've a minute I will try and tag everyone across the three threads.

@Thisisbananas3 I’m also suffering quite a lot and don’t know what to eat or not eat.. I think it might be worse when I don’t even though the thought of food makes me feel ill. I’ve not yet been sick but almost was today, rushed to the loo but it was just all salvia when your mouth keeps filling up- nice! I’m guessing it’s a good sign for the pregnancy though? My first so I don’t know...

Firegirl35 · 22/12/2020 15:42

@haidri that’s the right attitude stay calm and positive, stress isn’t good for anyone and it’s in the hands of the gods. I do hope you have a healthy pregnancy and I’m sure you will this time

Thisisbananas3 · 22/12/2020 16:05

@Alittlexmasmagic meltdowns sound fun! I was very sick at 5 weeks, in fact from 4 days before AF was due! I hope you are spared any horrible symptoms and just get a nice glow instead!

@Firegirl35 oh I so relate! Every food turns my stomach but I know have to eat otherwise I feel more sick. Then I get the am I hungry or sick feeling? Is it safe to eat? So far I’ve been okay on buttery bread and pasta. And yes with your mouth filling up- when I’m dry heaving I’m shocked at the amount of water my mouth is producing- Dr Google tells me excess saliva is a pregnancy symptom. (I have also been dribbling in my sleep, I’ve never done that before! How glam!) It’s my first too so I’m clueless but interesting that it’s a good sign? It feels bad!

@haidri fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy for you (and all on the thread). It’s definitely an anxious time but all we can do is take each day that it comes!

Firegirl35 · 22/12/2020 16:37

@Thisisbananas3 definitely feel same with am I hungry or sick, and unfortunately I’ve found out that ginger makes me feel ill so that’s fantastic Grin Salt and vinegar crisps were helping last week but I’m not fancying them or much of anything at moment. Feeling it again now, but I ate a sandwich a couple hours ago. I have it all day and most evening long. I usually love my food so this is so not like me. Hadn’t realised saliva was a symptom! Have you joined the Facebook group ?

tiinab · 22/12/2020 17:03

@Alittlexmasmagic

Hi everyone, no sickness here or any apparent symptoms, until I just had a full on hormonal meltdown about something quite minor 🙈. Only 5 weeks today though so plenty of time x
This is the reason what made me do a test. A full on emotional breakdown at a dentist's office where I don't even dare to go back anymore 😂 probably not the smartest after telling the dentist to f**k himself 😂😂

BTW anyone has any advice for some intense leg cramps? More specifically right thigh. Just had a nap and woke up to almost crying of the muscle twitching pains.

lzeb · 22/12/2020 17:25

Hi ladies. This is my first time pregnant and on mumsnet and a nervous beginner.

Due 21st Aug, only just found out I was pregnant last weekend after what I thought was a strange period. Sorry for TMI - very dark blood for 3 days, and since then brown spotting daily for 12 days until now.

Spoke to doctors who advise as it’s not red it can be normal but to take it steady. No pain either other than tugging and a dull stretching sensation.

Have sore boobs, tired (napping consistently at 2pm for the last 4 days!), and waking up hungry (not like me).

Not sure if there are others experiencing spotting or in previous pregnancies who would be willing to share their experiences.

Thanks ladies x

Alittlexmasmagic · 22/12/2020 18:29

@tiinab did the dentist deserve it? 😂
No advice about cramps but perhaps mention it to the MW, they might refer you for physio.

@lzeb I had quite a lot of bleeding in a previous pregnancy, root cause never determined. Originally they thought it was lining cells, growing out of the cervix. It was always old blood so they were never too concerned. If you get to soaking through a pad or two an hour, then speak to EPU.x

@Firegirl35 oh the smell of ginger makes me feel ill, I was eating ginger biscuits and I can only describe it as bringing up fire! How are you feeling now? I’ve managed a bag of ready salted crisps and a banana! Better than nothing, I’ve lost 4 pounds so far.

Not on FB so not in the group. Smile

@tiinab ouch cramps sound painful, no advice but imagine hydration plays a part in that? Are you able to drink water without feeling sick?

Ohh he definitely deserved it! I had seen a different dentist before also and switched everything completely over to her and when telling her the story today she was like jep he deserved it all. He is an asshole 😂 love my new dentist for that!

I just self referred myself yesterday to my local hospital as I had thought my gp does it so saw the go yesterday so she did confirm the pregnancy, gave me a flu shot immediately and asked me to self refer so hopefully hospital calls me up soon. Website says it takes average 5 working days but not sure if time over Christmas counts to it.
My gp did prescribe me a way higher dose of folic acid as I am a bigger girl and have another call with her next week. Just glad that I feel now I have found doctors I absolutely adore so hopefully my midwife will be someone who I adore aswell.

I drink probably 2-3 l of water a day right now. I am fine with any liquids it seems like and clementines are my saviours. But anything else I eat I can guarantee 5 min after starting to eat I am nauseous. Just extremely happy I am on furlough right now as I am a chef and that could be an interesting challenge to work right now.
Haven't tried ginger yet but just before I found out I was pregnant I smelled the ginger tea I made for myself and that didn't go down well. 😂

Thank you @Alittlexmasmagic it’s only probably one teaspoon a day but varies from light brown to dark day by day. Keeping everything crossed and might book for a scan for week 8 to check on everything. Got a Midwife’s appt next week so will see where things are then x

Smurf123 · 22/12/2020 18:53

My diet today has consisted of a can of coke and salt and vinegar pringles.. Oh and a Jam sandwich. The coke is the only liquid I'm managing to drink which I know isn't great but bound to be better than no fluids Confused

Thisisbananas3 · 22/12/2020 18:53

@tiinab hmm so not a hydration thing that! Really sorry I don’t know what to suggest but I hope it goes!

Furlough must be brilliant right now, I could not imagine being a chef atm, I’d be sick all over the place! Grin lol I know everyone recommends ginger but ugh just not a fan, I smell it and can feel the burn in my throat!

@Izeb I have no experience but fingers crossed for you x

Thisisbananas3 · 22/12/2020 18:55

@Smurf123 oh wow you’ve inspired me, a jam sandwich sounds so good! Honestly I really think at this stage eat and drink what you can manage, any food/drink better than none!

BertieBotts · 22/12/2020 19:00

I love ginger but will see how it goes. I'm supposed to be hosting an online event if DS2 ever goes to sleep. I have a bottle of ginger beer lined up for that.

Thisisbananas3 · 22/12/2020 19:05

I used to like it but I started drinking ginger tea and having biscuits to deal with sickness and I just associate it with being sick now, so I get one whiff and Sad

horsey92 · 22/12/2020 19:07

First pregnancy and due 17th August!
Very sore boobs and nipples, knackered all the time, no real nausea yet and haven't gone off any food either, just missing my Prosecco 😭😂

Yeah but my husband still expects me to cook at least dinner at home 😂 so doing a quick Thai green curry now and will shove as much food in me as I can before I get nauseous again. But I have to admit it, I had thought it will be way worse for me at this time so hopefully didn't jinx it.

Ballen · 22/12/2020 19:32

Hi all, I didn't expect to be here so soon (and I don't know if I'm here for the long haul yet 🤞) I have had an implant/coil since 6 weeks after my daughter was born 7 and a half years ago. Before my daughter I suffered multiple miscarriages and eptopic pregnancies. My coil came out at the end of Oct, I thought it would take months to conceive.
I took a test on Saturday after feeling wretched all day and well , here I am.
Now feeling very guilty about drinking at my (online) staff Xmas party last week, but as I have only had light spotting since the coil coming out I didn't think to be more careful.
I'm sure it will be OK tho (if pregnancy is viable), my daughter survived an all inclusive holiday (turkey tummy and all) before dh and I realised I was pregnant with her.
Fingers crossed all will be well and I can enjoy the coming months getting to know you all

Firegirl35 · 22/12/2020 19:57

I’ve told him tonight. It’s not gone well he’s sad and disappointed it’s not what he wants at all. I’ll write again tomorrow

Nimie · 22/12/2020 20:25

@Firegirl35 sorry to hear that it didn't go well, perhaps let him have the night to sink in the news and see what the morning brings hun. Sending lots of hugs xx

Alittlexmasmagic · 22/12/2020 20:57

@Firegirl35 I'm so sorry to hear his reaction but I'm pleased you've shared. Remember not to let him blame you, if he was adamant he wanted no more kids, he could have easily taken measures to prevent it ✂️. Also remember this is your baby, your body & your choice, please don't feel pressured into anything you aren't happy with x

@horsey92 congratulations!! I hope you get no nausea

@Ballen congratulations to you! I wouldn’t worry about the alcohol, I think it’s quite normal tbh and I often think of all those women who give birth in the loo! 9 months of drinking lol!

@izeb wow, the thought of cooking makes me want to pass out lol! I’m glad the Nausea is okay and hope you enjoyed the food!

@Firegirl35 I’m sorry I missed your story on the last page. What a horrible situation for what should be happy news. As a littlexmasmagic says this is your body, you have to do what’s best for you, no matter what he says. I’m sorry I have no words of wisdom for you, I imagine you’ve got a lot to talk and think about, but we’re here. Just hope you’re okay, take care of yourself xx

Firsttimemumm31 · 23/12/2020 00:14

@Firegirl35 so sorry to hear it hasn't gone well, I hope that with a little time he will come round to the idea, sometimes shock and surprise adds to the reaction x

PurplePansy05 · 23/12/2020 07:35

@haidri Hi, I had two MMCs at 11 and 13 weeks and one earlier MC before my current pregnancy. Sorry for your loss. Just wanted to say I understand your anxiety and sending lots of positive thoughts for this pregnancy. With this kind of experience you never think it will definitely be ok this time and indeed, there is no such thing as "definitely ok" with pregnancy at all. But as my consultant and the wise people of MN say, it's a new egg and new sperm and a fresh chance all will go well. 💐Keeping everything crossed for you. Have you considered having an early scan? Xx
