As there seem to be a few of us, shall we call on the collective might of mumsnet for some help..ie virtual waters breaking/plug loss/contractions etc...

(40+4 and fed up)

41 + 1 and i'm very very fed up

Been booked in for induction on wednesday so i'm doing everything possible to go before wed - All positive labour vibes greatly accepted !!!!

sarahloumadam · 21/10/2007 18:52

+++++++++++++++++++++ vibes to you both. Can I be nosy and ask are you first time mums? Did you "feel" you might go over-due? Just that I am pregnant with my first and feeling big as a barrel at 36+5 and wondering how you felt at this stage?

unicorn · 21/10/2007 19:09

Oh OK! Extra +++++++++++ vibes then and hope it happens soon. Will be looking out for the birth announcement.

Dalrymps · 21/10/2007 19:31

Hey there, 40+5 here, It is my first time, have been small all my pregnancy and my baby is expected to be slightly small so couldn't quite believe i was 40 weeks when the time came. I had no signs of imminent labour apart from mild stomach ache on and off so figured i'd go over but hoped it would only be a few days! Got 5 days left until induction, well, thats counting the actual day of induction so 4 full days really...
Sending vibes to all others in same boat

Sushipaws · 21/10/2007 19:47

I was 9 days over when I had my beautiful dd. Had such an easy birth too, so it can happen to you.

Sending warm baby vibes, please come out it's great in the outside world.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Kittiwake · 21/10/2007 20:21

Yes please, please send me some baby come out vibes here too (40+6 and also very fed up) I am a first timer didn't really expect to go over by much as baby's head is deeply engaged and has been for weeks.

Thanks for the positive message sushipaws good to know that it can happen like that!

Love and good birthing vibes being sent to you all. Hope all goes well and that you can "enjoy" some of the experience

Remember, the birth will happen come what may - it's the new babies you've got to worry about!!! eek - I remember those first days. Hadn't got a clue and was completely dazed. It was wondrous!
And falling in love never felt so good - it's like all the best bits of falling in love. Totally amazing
Love to you all

2nd timer here. With DD my waters broke on due date and she was born 2 days later.

40 + 4 now and really did not expect to go over. Midwife told me at 36 wks to be ready at 38 wks as she was sure this would not go to term.

Kittiwake · 22/10/2007 10:58

Hi all

Still waiting here 41 weeks today and no sign of anything happening.

clara that is exactly how I feel if one more person tells me to make the most of these last few days I will scream - I know they mean well but my house really cannot be any more clean or organised I don't wan't to read anymore magazines/watch films/ take a relaxing bath I just want to go in to labour!!!!!

I also do not want an induction but as you say right now I just want this to end

40+3...i am fat and peed off! I was convinced i'd go a week or two early aswell.

Getting cracking stretchmarks too.

I want my baby now.

Dalrymps · 22/10/2007 13:13

Hey overdue guys, 40+6, still here grrr, don't feel much more different now to how I felt a week ago so no idea when it will happen. All I keep getting is period pains and occasional back ache that go nowhere! Got my appointment with the midwife tomorrow, going to monitor baby heart rate for about 45mins as it's procedure to check he's still doing ok, also going to do an internal to check how 'favourable' my cervix is, I hope it is favourable or has changed in some way, least they should be able to let me know if i'm any closer... if not it's induction on fri .
Anyway enough moaning from me, how are all the rest of you coping?

PregnantGrrrl · 22/10/2007 13:20

i'm mostly just bored!

I miss my DS too, as he's at childminders most of the day, until i give birth.

I don't want a sweep or induction either, which seems to baffle people. I'm 'only' 3 days over at the moment though, so hopefully that's a long way off being pushed on me.

stripeybumpsmum · 22/10/2007 13:35

I am actually only 38+5 by scan but had quite enough of being pg thanks, mainly because I can see history repeating itself (told DS1 likely to be early - eventually dragged out at 41+5). Wouldn't mind but both times despite v regular 28 day cycle, LMP dates and scan dates have varied wildly so it looks like I do 44 week pregnancies!

Next time (ha ha) I will remind myself not to do a stroke of preparation for baby or filling freezer etc in the hope that these last two times I have jinxed things by being ready too early!

It is just so tedious and dull isn't it?

PregnantGrrrl · 22/10/2007 13:41

god yes! so excited to see him, and sick of waiting. i want to be a proper family again.

and this is DEFINATELY my last pregnancy. the snip has already been discussed!

skidaddle · 22/10/2007 13:47

Lots of baby-get-out vibes to all of you. I am only 34wks but am already sick of this pg malarky so you have my sympathies.. look forward to reading your birth stories

bumptobaby · 22/10/2007 14:13

aaaagggghhhhh this waiting is doing my head in. I'm 41+2 and i'm still here - the next person that calls my house or comes to visit me and say Oh are you still here is going to feel my temper!!!!!!!

I'm booked in for induction on Wednesday and now i am starting to get really scared about it. I have had a sweep which showed i'm not very favourable (they are so nice) but that was nearly a week ago so fingers crossed something has changed and i go between now and wed.

I'm a first timer so i really don't know what to expect just trying to relax before it gets hectic.

Have any of the positive thoughts helped anyone along yet!!

Kittiwake · 22/10/2007 15:51

AAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH! from me too

Just back from midwife and she couldn't do a sweep because my stupid cervix was so "posterior" i.e. shut as tight as a clam!

The baby's head is really low but no good if there's no way out I guess booked in for induction a week today when I will be 42 weeks OHMYGOD I will go mental if I have to wait until then.

Dalrymps · 22/10/2007 17:25

Hey kitti and bump2, i really feel for you guys, hope something happens before your inductions... I think i'll cry if the midwife says my cervix isn't favourable tomorrow! Then if nothing happens i've got my induction on fri, they don't want to let me go to 42 weeks cause the lo is expected to be small, although i don't know why this means i have to be induced earlier? surely the longer he's in there the bigger he'll get? I keep trying not to think about it in the hope labour will just catch me by surprise if i try and forget about it... no such luck

Hillbilly · 22/10/2007 17:36

Good luck Dairymps with your midwife app tomorrow.

Fortunately I'm not too bored as have dd to look after (except for 3 mornings a week).

This morning I went to my pre natal step class. I thought there's no reason why not to as I feel fine and maybe it will help. The teacher was a little suprised however having said our goodbyes last week!

This afternoon I tried rubbing clary sage with almond oil into my bump.....let's see if that does anything.

Dh gets totally freaked out every time I call him.....it's so funny.

Hillbilly · 22/10/2007 17:43

Just seen on another thread that Unicorn gave birth last night!

There's hope for all of us yet!

Can't really say about the clary sage. Nothing happened yet. Will try again later but I think it works for some and not others. anyway I will keep you updated.

I think our babies will come when they are good and ready!
