hey everyone! i've been too nervous to read this thread for the last week, but just got back from my scan - i was sooo nervous and barely slept last night! but all was well! absolutely adorable to see them wriggling around, i can't really believe it!

northerngal20 · 08/12/2020 11:17

also @LobsterRavioli my symptoms have massively reduced over the past few days, i was feeling so normal i was worried i'd made the whole thing up! all i have now is crazy hunger

swiftt · 08/12/2020 11:20

@LobsterRavioli yup! I’m 13+5 and been feeling almost normal since 9 weeks. If I hadn’t seen a baby at my scan, I’d have been questioning it for sure. I’ve got my sexing scan on the 27th, hopefully that’ll give me some reassurance until my 20 week scan in January x

I still feel sicky, I am past the dizziness now though.

Generally feel a bit unwell and knackered tbh.

Tatty1987 · 08/12/2020 12:10

@northerngal20 so glad to hear it all went well. Got a private scan on Sunday and nhs one a week tomorrow (booked the private one so fiancé can come). Getting nervous now as the days draw closer!

Nellle · 08/12/2020 12:32

I'm 13+2 and my symptoms all but vanished at about 12 weeks. Apart from the tiredness, that's still here.

Question for people who have had the NIPT, were you asked to post your sample off yourself? I was, sent it last Thursday and still not received by the lab. They also had no record that I'd paid for it. Seems a bit odd when you've spent a lot of money on a private test!

Snally82 · 08/12/2020 12:41

@Nellle that seems super strange. No that was all handled for us. Sample taken on the Sunday, post by them on the Monday, in the lab in Rome by Tuesday and results with us by Thursday!

AnnaPosie · 08/12/2020 13:06

@LobsterRavioli same! 13 weeks today , tired and still some foods I can't eat but other than that feel fine so always panic then!

Nellle · 08/12/2020 13:06

Thanks @snally82 I agree it seems strange. It was all boxed up but I was told to get it to a post office. I certainly would have thought they'd at least have received it by now.

ChasingARainbow · 08/12/2020 13:26

@Nellle my NIPT was arranged through our local NHS hospital which worked out significantly clearer than some of the private companies we looked into.
On paying for the test I got an email acknowledging payment and they sent the test out and asked me to get the practice phlebotomist or my midwife to take the blood samples and then I had to post it back in which cost a few pounds with the post office- it did say in the back on the form the blood sample would be ok for 5 days as I was worried about posting on a Friday and the weekend.
After the first week I hadn't received any acknowledgement and started to worry so called the lab directly and they let me know they had got it and the date I would receive the report by- it took 9 working days to get the report.
Maybe check with the lab tomorrow and ask if it's usual for the delay- did it get it tracked/recorded with the post office?

Nellle · 08/12/2020 13:41

Thanks @chasingarainbow! Mine was done through an NHS hospital too and my arrangement sounds similar to yours.

The thing that worries me is that I took their word for it that postage was paid for and just handed it over at the post office. Wish I'd read the box carefully but my head was in the clouds a bit after seeing baby! I do have a receipt at home, so I'll check that. 🤞🤞

LobsterRavioli · 08/12/2020 16:03

Glad a few of us are in the same boat and it's not just me.

I'm 15 weeks and have started to feel some movement, not kicks but definitely something Grin

Sitchervice · 08/12/2020 16:19

Scan was all good I'm due on 17th. Where my placenta is placed I might not feel as many kicks but as long as they are wriggling and healthy I'm happy. My friends and family are now placing bets on if its a boy or girl. Next scan is 28th of January.

lucieloos · 08/12/2020 16:40

@Nellle our nipt was private so they took the blood sample and sent it on ice to USA. Results were back in 5 working days.

Had our 12 week scan today and all looking good. They dated me 3 days ahead so I'm 12+1 today and a new due date of 21st June. Feel like I can relax for a little bit now. Consultant appt early Jan and then 20 week scan on 1st Feb.

Snally82 · 08/12/2020 17:03

Lovely scan photos both!

@lucieloos my 20 week scan is the same date, it feels a lifetime away!!

ChasingARainbow · 08/12/2020 17:26

@Nellle I'm sure they would have told you in the post office if there was anything to pay, try giving the lab a call tomorrow x

Lovethatjourneyforme · 08/12/2020 18:21

Hi all, I was on the Facebook group but withdrew from it and am returning to mumsnet instead - just marking my place on here! I'm 14w, due June 8th Smile

Dragonfly92 · 08/12/2020 18:29

Only just catching up today but thank you for the lovely comments. Got my rescan tomorrow where hopefully twin 1 will be in a better position for measurements 🤞

Lovely scan photos @lucieloos and @Sitchervice!

DollyParton2 · 08/12/2020 20:22

Lovethatjourneyforme I’m also thinking about leaving the group. It just seems to irritate me! But I’m cranky as anything right now- total pregnancy rage. Prefer this thread.

lucieloos · 08/12/2020 20:26

@Snally82 oh I don't know I think it feels like time is flying! Once Christmas is over it will only be a few more weeks then until our next scan. They have me down for extra growth scans too because they class my first born as being small 🙄 She was 6lb8 which I don't think seems that small but apparently so. I guess at least I get to see this little one a bit more.

Lovethatjourneyforme · 08/12/2020 21:05

@DollyParton2 haha yeah I just got wound up one day and left in a fit of what was probably pregnancy rage Blush this is definitely less full on, just find it easier

lucieloos · 08/12/2020 21:07

Ohhh what happens on the Facebook group?! 😂

Lovethatjourneyforme · 09/12/2020 08:57

@lucieloos oh they're all really nice I was just suffering from 1st trimester grumpiness haha. There's just a lot of posts and a lot of anxieties and it just didn't work that well for me, prefer this so that I can check it when I want to, rather than have it on my newsfeed.

Snally82 · 09/12/2020 09:29

@lucieloos I’m so surprised that’s classed as small! And yes I suppose you’re right, once Christmas and New Year are done it’s not far away at all

Sitchervice · 09/12/2020 10:28

Can't decide if have bump or just lockdown pudge...
