Hi ladies :-)

39+2 today and wondering if anyone else is nearing the end and perhaps we can have a moan together haha.

I have in general enjoyed this pregnancy but my god I am fed up now. I’m huge, living off gavisgon, have the worst rib pain, my face is so puffy and my nose seems to be growing by the day, nothing fits me anymore, I can’t sleep and if one more person asks me on the school run ‘have you n out had this baby yet’ I’m going to explode haha!!

Everyday I’m thinking is today the day!! But then the other half of me is sh*%#ing it for birth after a nightmare with my daughter last time (induced, forceps, episiotomy, you get the picture)

Anyway think I just fancied a good moan haha xx

I feel you! 39+1 and feeling throughly fed-up! Had a bit of a meltdown today as I'm so scared of needing to be induced and ending up in hospital for days on my own - my hospital aren't allowing partners. This is a very much wanted first baby but just finding the whole thing very overwhelming as I near my due date, especially with all the covid restrictions and it not being the pregnancy I'd imagined.... I'm hating the lack of control of not knowing when labour might start, I've been having twinges for weeks now and I just feel constantly on edge, I think lack of sleep definitely isn't helping either!

Hatepickinganame · 25/11/2020 16:46

Nearly 38 weeks here and feeling exactly the same! Its been one problem after another since about 28 weeks for me, so very ready to meet my baby now!! Constantly wondering if every twinge is the start, its baby no4 and my labours are fast, my oh works 1.5 hours away from our house so starting to worry he won't make it back 🙄 luckily he finishes work next Tuesday!

Leah2016 · 25/11/2020 16:56

Aww stargazer, I feel the same! I was induced with my first and it was 2 days before I was in established labour and our hospital are also not allowing birth partners until your 4cm and then only allowed to stay for a couple hours after birth. It’s been a really strange pregnancy with all the covid restrictions!! Yep the lack of sleep is killing me! At least the sleepless nights with a baby serve a purpose at the moment I’m just sat up all night with heartburn, aching and fed up!! Finger crossed things start for us soon, I’m going to go bounce on the ball tonight although i don’t think it does a bloody thing!!

Hatepickinganame - I’m exactly the same about the twinges and worrying about husband getting home in time he works over an hour away and in true laid back male style has booked himself on loads of site visits this week bloody miles away from home haha!! Wish I was as laid back as him! Xx

@Leah2016 I've been bouncing on my ball loads too hoping to get things doing, although I have days like today after a particularly bad nights sleep, I think 2 hours max, and feeling super emotional where I avoid the ball and want to cross my legs and think please don't go into labour today, I really don't have the energy for it! 🙈

Leah2016 · 25/11/2020 17:12

@Stargazer87 I’m having days like that!! Dying to go into labour but thinking how the hell am I going to have the energy to give birth because I’m like the walking dead today!! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 25/11/2020 17:14

@Leah2016 my oh is the same, so laid back its unreal. I kind of hope he has a moment of panic when I do go into labour just to see his face 😀 I'm a terrible person sometimes haha

I had a 2hr nap.earlier to compensate for the lack of sleep at night time. Highly recommend if you can!

Leah2016 · 25/11/2020 17:20

@Hatepickinganame haha!! Not terrible at all, I’d be lying if I said that hadn’t crossed my mind! I’m sure my husband things I can just keep my legs crossed until he gets home!

I’m definitely taking advantage of napping, I literally rolled off the sofa 5 mins before the school run today still had crease marks on my face from the cushions when I rocked up to school! 😂😂 thank god I woke up, must remember to set an alarm next time! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 25/11/2020 17:28

@Leah2016 haha yeah so does mine I think, his first born was by section, he's never seen labour or birth so gonna be interesting to see how he deals with it. Whereas my 3 were all natural births on just gas and air, so I'm prepared for that and feel like I know what to expect. Currently bouncing on my ball to see if they will help along these braxtons I keep having 🤞

Leah2016 · 25/11/2020 17:35

@Hatepickinganame haha he’s in for an education! 😂 I’m bouncing too!! God I’m getting that desperate I’m even considering forcing hubs into some very unsexy sex 😂 let’s pray this bouncing (on the ball) gets things going before I have to go to extreme measures haha!! Keep me updated! Fingers crossed for us both xx

How's everyone feeling today? Any developments?

Leah2016 · 26/11/2020 13:37

@Stargazer87 still pregnant!! :-( another crap night sleep too, been having loads of niggly pains today even downloaded the contraction timer app and started to get my hopes up but it’s all stopped now! How are you feeling?

OP posts:
Stargazer87 · 26/11/2020 13:39

@Leah2016 The same, tired with lots of random pains, they never seem to turn into anything though! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hatepickinganame · 26/11/2020 15:48

@Leah2016 @Stargazer87 same here, terrible sleep, constant niggles. 38 weeks tomorrow and convinced ill spend the next two/four weeks on the brink of going into labour 😅 went for a walk earlier, can't go too far as I have PGP but had a couple of braxtons and now nothing whatsoever! What are your plans for distraction over the weekend?

Paris2019 · 26/11/2020 15:56

I am 40+4 and utterly fed up now!! Until a week or so ago I was feeling really positive, and was managing to stay fairly active / productive. Now I have agonising hip pain so can only walk short distances; my sleeping patterns are all over the place; and I'm getting increasingly anxious about giving birth, whereas before I was all "bring it on!!" Now i am having frequent meltdowns. Am also sick of speaking to people as I have nothing to say other than "no, not here yet!" Feel like every day is groundhog day and my anxiety levels are rising all the time :(

Stargazer87 · 26/11/2020 16:38

@Paris2019 I completely agree with everyday feeling like Groundhog Day and rising anxiety levels, I think I get more nervous about birth with each passing day!

@Hatepickinganame I think I'm going to ramp up trying to get things started this weekend with some long walks...or as long as I can manage!

Leah2016 · 26/11/2020 17:08

@Hatepickinganame might have to be a weekend of curries, nipple tweaking, long walks and sex...who am I kidding il be moping about the house feeling sorry for myself haha! Really need to make a start on Xmas shopping too but zero motivation! Oh and phone is going on silent as I’m soo fed up of the ‘any news yet’ calls. I know they mean well but if I had any news I’d bloody tell you!!😂

@Paris2019 @Stargazer87 yep major birth anxiety here too! Had such a crap time with my first il literally cacking it and the longer the wait goes on the more scenarios I start to think of in my head! Not good 🙈

Oh and just to finish the day off my 1 pair of remaining maternity leggings that fit now have a huge hole right in the arse!! And I only realised once I’d got back from school run. 😂

Hatepickinganame · 26/11/2020 17:33

@Leah2016 I have a photo ready for Facebook that says something like our baby is due soon, please let us announce it when the time comes, which I plan to post with a polite message about not asking me every five minutes if she's here yet 😅 mostly for my mothers benefit.... all our kids are home tomorrow night as its my weekend (joint custody with my youngest two) so will be keeping my legs crossed this weekend I think and enjoy our last weekend as a family of six before we become 7 and chaos erupts!

I ripped my maternity jeans by forever trying to pull them.over my giant belly. Decided im not buying more for a couple of weeks so just keep wearing tops long enough to cover it! Oh and I'm going food shopping tomorrow. On black friday. I think I've lost the plot!

Is anyone getting a lot of kicking really low down? I'm starting to worry she's flipped to breech again 😔

lc86 · 26/11/2020 17:39

@Leah2016 38+4 here.. can't even get DP to have sex with me, he looked horrified at the suggestion 🤣 I'm booked for a c section next Friday but hoping he comes naturally before tbh. Some moments I think I'm ready and then I think no I'm not actually ready for that pain lol.. I'm also making the most of naps, I normally go straight back to bed after the school drop in the morning now 🙊 I'm overthinking every movement thinking this is it, and then nothing x

Leah2016 · 26/11/2020 17:39

@Hatepickinganame strange you should say that as I’m feeling a lot of movement down low and this week had really bad rib pain and felt a lump under my rib and started to worry it was baby’s head! I can’t for the life of me gauge what position he is in as I’m feeling things all over! Every appointment I’ve had he has been head down so I’m just praying he’s not flipped!!

Yep I’m with you on the long tops, I’m not spending anymore money on maternity clothes, it’s my own fault as I can’t stop stuffing my face at the moment!! 3 slices
If Costco carrot cake today and I’m complaining about ripping my leggings! No bloody wonder 😂😂 x

Leah2016 · 26/11/2020 17:43

@lc86 haha!! My DH enthusiastically told me last night he had seen online apparently giving a ‘blowjob’ can help a woman bring on labour 😂😂 I mean god loves a trier but there’s more chance of me giving birth to the baby Jesus than that happening at this stage of pregnancy bless him 🙈! I’m the same, some days I’m like let’s do this I’m ready, then the next I panic and think sh*# I’ve actually got to give birth to this baby!

OP posts:
lc86 · 26/11/2020 17:46

@Leah2016 hahaha aww, nice try buddy! I'd rather go two weeks over than do that at the moment 🤣🤣.. I know, I just keep thinking the sooner it starts the sooner the pain is over 🤦🏼‍♀️ braxton hicks are driving me nuts, false hope every single night!!

Leah2016 · 27/11/2020 08:07

Morning ladies!!

I mean business today, actually managed a half decent nights sleep last night so if baby would like to come today that would be great 😂👍🏻

Anyway did the deed with DH this morning (don’t think either of us found it particularly enjoyable haha), going to go for a walk after school run, afternoon of bouncing on ball & curry for tea I think!! 😂 I am sooooo ready to have this baby!

Hope you are all well today xx

Hatepickinganame · 27/11/2020 09:35

@Leah2016 good luck! I was up at 3am with regular pains, felt awful, was convinced she was coming. Went back to bed at 6am, woke up at 9 and nothing! However, tmi alert but noticed a lot of mucous like discharge this morning so maybe things are happening very slowly 😅 covered my back by making sure I have emergency childcare waiting and gonna do the same I think, sex, walk etc 😅 how is everyone else?

Stargazer87 · 27/11/2020 09:58

Morning all!

Another bad nights sleep for me so not feeling on top form, going to take it easy and hope she's not thinking of making an appearance today! 🙈

lc86 · 27/11/2020 15:51

I'm in an evil mood today, no reason for it, just am.. got to love hormones! x
