After 11 long months of TTC, I finally got my BFP this morning! Needless to say, I've taken about a million tests today to confirm 😂

I've called the doctors and got booked in, I'm already taking folic acid, anything else that I should be doing or could be doing?

I'm so excited, I genuinely thought this day might not even come!

What pregnancy tracking app would you recommend? I was using Glow and Flo whole TTC

Anyone else due early August??

Congratulations OP! Start taking vitamin D as well and read the NHS guidance on what to eat and what to avoid.

I downloaded a few apps. Pregnancy+ is best for giving you a size comparison week by week. Babycentre is a bit better for giving you info about the developing embryo, what's happening each week and whats happening inside your body. I'm almost 10 weeks, every Thursday I'm onto those apps straight away because I've moved up to the next week and I want to see what's changed! Pregnancy is very pre-occupying.....

Good luck OP :)

Awwww congratulations! I know how you feel. I have 4 children which I didn’t need to try for but I tried for 20 months for my 5th (now 8+5 weeks!) yes definitely start taking vitamin d. I use Ovia app when pregnant :) also pregnancy + . Xxx

MintGreenLife · 24/11/2020 18:04

@22ELF22 congrat 😀 I’m due early August - well one app says 31st July, other days 5th of August, I suspect the later date is more accurate. I got my BFP on Sunday after 7 months TTC, and tested again this morn and had a stronger line. I haven’t even called my GP yet, was thinking I would in a few days time. How are you feeling? Is this your first? Xx

MintGreenLife · 24/11/2020 18:05

@22ELF22 meant congrats!!

Mellous · 24/11/2020 18:06

Congrats!! My due date is 1st august

22ELF22 · 24/11/2020 18:22

Thanks ladies! And congrats to you all!!
I've downloaded Ovia and pregnancy +, I'll see how I get on with them 😊

@FourBabies wow congrats on your fifth! Super mum!

@MintGreenLife I went by NHS website and was 3rd August. A coupe of others have said that too. My cycle was usually 33days, but varied a little bit.
Yes this will be my first, what about you?
I've thought I was poorly the last few days and haven't actually been in work. Felt like I've been hit by a bus and so knackered! All made sense why earlier today!!
@Mellous congrats! Another August baby 😊

How have you ladies been feeling?

I’ve literally been fine so I’ve been worrying so much. Some days I feel a bit queasy when I’m hungry. Don’t really feel tired either but unsure if that’s because I’m always tired anyway haha. My lack of symptoms has been making me google endlessly. Think it’s just because I was so poorly with my 4th I expected the same x

MintGreenLife · 24/11/2020 18:55

@22ELF22 I did use the NHS website but can’t recall exactly what it said, think it perhaps said 31st July. My cycles had been irregular since I came off the pill in March - this cycle I ovulated on CD30, so was in for a 40 day+ cycle. Yep first for me also ☺️ All exciting and scary!

Only proper symptom I have is sore boobs on the sides and sensitive nipples. I’ve had a few abdominal aches but not much. I felt pretty tired yesterday and the day before, but also hadn’t slept well the previous nights, so hard to say whether that was pregnancy related. It’s super early but am already wanting to have a few more symptoms 😂

Clairey844 · 24/11/2020 22:58

@22ELF22 congratulations 🎉
I just got my BFP this morning too, NHS due date calculator days due date 3rd August too!

We have been trying for baby number 2 since May last year however I had a miscarriage in Feb but 18 months in total TTC.

I have been taking seven seas trying for a baby so will switch to a pregnancy supplement (I know you only really need folic acid but I'm still breastfeeding so think the extra nutrients and vitamins will be helpful) and also start vitamin d.

I've always used the flo app so have just switched that to pregnancy mode.

@MintGreenLife & @Mellous congratulations pregnancy buddies. I couldn't sleep the last 2 nights and that prompted me to test this morning!

MintGreenLife · 25/11/2020 08:13

@Clairey844 congrats 😀 oh that’s funny as I had a couple of bad nights sleep, one the night before my BFP and one the night of. I also woke up all hot and sweaty last night! How are you feeling?

I’ve ordered a pregnancy multi vitamin and am just waiting for that to arrive. I’m gluten and dairy free, which I went about 3 months ago to try and improve my IBS and also slightly elevated TSH to help with TTC, so I probably have a few gaps in my nutrition like calcium, so thought it best to take something to make sure I’m not missing anything. I’m going to carry on being gluten and dairy free in pregnancy I think, or at least for the next few months, as I spoke to a nutritionist about it and they said it’s best not to make any sudden changes early on. Going to be interesting if I get any cravings for bread or cheese 😂

Clairey844 · 25/11/2020 22:04

@MintGreenLife to be honest I feel totally fine and normal at the moment-had a manic day at work today so probably been too busy to even notice things ha ha.

I think I would really struggle to be dairy and gluten free lol-i love all things dairy and bread ha ha but good for you doing it and it's obviously worked for your body.

How are you feeling? Xx

VWLolabunny9119 · 25/11/2020 22:31

Hey can I join? I'm due 1st August. Iv had 2 miscarriages this year so really worried about it happening again. Symptoms include cramping (which is how my miscarriages started) on and off and sore boobs. Also TMI but definitely a bit constipated.

Missgoldilocks · 25/11/2020 23:41

Hey girls!! Can I join? I was trying for officially 15 months and got my bfp on saturday morning ❤️❤️❤️ my due date is 27th July. Like some of you I don't have many symptoms and have been getting worried. Sometimes I feel sick but it passes, the only thing I've had like everyday is I'm so tired haha I didn't think I could getore tired than I usually am! Xx

MintGreenLife · 26/11/2020 09:11

@Clairey844 I do feel like it may be a struggle later down the line, but will stick at it as best I can! Yeah I feel fine as well to be honest. Apart from very sore boobs I don't have much more in the way of symptoms. Although last night I woke up at 4am so starving I could't go back to sleep, so had to go downstairs and eat a banana ha, which I honestly don't think I've ever done in my life!

@VWLolabunny9119 Hi :) sorry for your losses, hope this is a much smoother journey for you.

@Missgoldilocks congrats :) I got mine on Sunday, so just away behind you, although my due date is 4th of August (NHS website and two apps are all telling me different things though, so just going off NHS now!). Aww I sweat you can't win with symptoms, if I had loads I think I might be worried, but then also so few make you worry too! As I've said above my main symptom is sore boobs and increased hunger, I've not had much cramps apart from just here and there. How are you feeling about it all? Will this be your first? xx

Missgoldilocks · 26/11/2020 13:57

@MintGreenLife thank you for getting back to me :) this will be my second! My son is 9 so it's been a long time since I had one, I was only 19 then so it feels like a completrly different situation l but my first with my current partner and it'll be his first. I'm sooo happy over the moon 😁how are you feeling? Yeah I had cramps when my period was due but then the day it was supposed to come I just felt bloated, since then there's been a few days I just feel a bloated stretchy sort of feeling! Will this be your first? Xx

MintGreenLife · 26/11/2020 15:13

@Missgoldilocks ah lovely, it'll be nice to do it all over again and have a lovely new baby in the family :) yeah good I think! I'm surprised I'm not more nervous. I'm a mix of excited and anxious, but not overly anxious at all. I've had a fair bit of bloating too, it was worse around 10-12DPO though, seems to have eased off a bit now. I did wake up with a single stabbing pain in my tummy last night and was also starving at 4am, so much so that I had to go downstairs and eat a banana, so ridiculous! Yep first for me, so all very new. I'm 32 and my husband is 30. How are your symptoms today? Have you referred yourself to the midwife yet? xx

VWLolabunny9119 · 27/11/2020 08:40

I had a terrible night sleep again last night. I also have such a sore lower back. Anyone else have this? I do tend to have back issues so could be unrelated. I also have the occasional sharp pain in my pelvis with cramps. I'm totally paranoid about it all after having 2 miscarriages already! I'm only 4w5d so too early but I think I might try and get an early private scan.

MintGreenLife · 27/11/2020 10:04

@VWLolabunny9119 sorry to hear you didn't sleep well. I think I've had a 50/50 split in terms of sleep since around the time I must have implanted. No sore lower back for me, my main symptom is sore boobs. I get the odd stabbing pain, I've read into it and it's ligament pain from your uterus stretching, I'm not getting much in the way of cramps though, more an achey feeling from time to time, I've spoken to lots of women that seem to get cramping though xx

MAS50 · 27/11/2020 10:20

Morning ladies. Can I join too? Got my BFP this morning after 8 months of TTC. Couldn't stop crying yesterday about the fact we hadn't fallen and everyone around me seems to be pregnant. It's not like me to cry like that so thought I'd test this morning to rule it out and boom, BFP! I don't know what to do with myself haha. No symptoms other than the crying and I'm quite spotty atm but that's it so far. Can't quite believe it.

MAS50 · 27/11/2020 10:21

Oh and should add, Ovia says my due date would be 8th August. It's my partners 40th on the 2nd, oops! 😂

MintGreenLife · 27/11/2020 10:54

@MAS50 aww congrats! I was TTC for the same amount of time as you :) ah never mind, you can't plan for due dates etc, especially when you've been trying a while! We had to postpone our wedding to early September next year because of Covid, and my due date is the 2nd of August, so we're definitely going to have to postpone again. We got married on our original date anyway with a small ceremony, but were going to go ahead with the original planned day next year for all our friends and family to enjoy. These things are unavoidable sometimes xx

MAS50 · 27/11/2020 10:57

@MintGreenLife thanks and to you too!! Aw lovely that you went ahead on your original date. These things are unavoidable like you say, and when you've been trying for a while this comes first! Xx

MintGreenLife · 27/11/2020 11:11

@MAS50 exactly, we didn't want to stop trying certain months to plan around things, and I'm sure you felt the same :) do you know roughly how far along you are? I guess you must just be about 6 days behind me given your due date xx

MAS50 · 27/11/2020 11:15

@MintGreenLife the Ovia app says 3.5 weeks and the digital test says 1-2, pretty sure I ovulated around the 14th. Do I count that as 3.5 weeks? How far along are you? Xx

MintGreenLife · 27/11/2020 11:42

@MAS50 my app says 4 weeks and 1 day, but then I have another one that says 4 weeks and 5 days, so I guess if I go for the middle of 4 + 3 then that makes sense. My digital said 1-2 at 10DPO, think I may do another this weekend and will hopefully get 2-3 xx
