After 11 long months of TTC, I finally got my BFP this morning! Needless to say, I've taken about a million tests today to confirm 😂

I've called the doctors and got booked in, I'm already taking folic acid, anything else that I should be doing or could be doing?

I'm so excited, I genuinely thought this day might not even come!

What pregnancy tracking app would you recommend? I was using Glow and Flo whole TTC

Anyone else due early August??

@MintGreenLife so exciting!!! Which app are you using? I've been doing some reading this morning but it's all so overwhelming! Although we were TTC for 8 months it's still such a shock and feel like everything just changed in a moment and don't know where to start with learning things!

MintGreenLife · 27/11/2020 12:10

@MAS50 I know it's such a funny feeling, it's almost like it creeps up on you, even though you've been hoping it would happen for the best part of a year! I was using fertility friend for TTC, but since getting my BFP I've downloaded BabyCentre and Pregnancy+ which help you track your pregnancy and give you info for each stage :)

MAS50 · 27/11/2020 12:34

@MintGreenLife it does doesn't it?! I thought I knew exactly what I'd do, how I'd tell my OH etc, nope, none of it has happened 😂 I will try those apps out xx

Missgoldilocks · 27/11/2020 17:07

@mintgreenlife Aww that's so lovely! I'm a little anxious because I want to have the first scan lol, not that I've ever had a miscarriage but you just worry. I think we will have a private scan the week leading up to Christmas. I'm 28 and my partner is 32 :) I have booked in but it was self referral online so I'm still waiting for an appointment have you?
My symptoms have gotten worse so I'm happy as weird as that sounds 😅 not having great sleep either I keep waking 3 or 4 times to wee x

MAS50 · 27/11/2020 17:25

@MintGreenLife oh totally know what you mean about being happy symptoms have got worse. I don't have any really yet and I've only know for less than a day and keep worrying it's not there anymore. Yeah I did the self referral form this morning so will wait to hear.
How early can you get a scan privately? I want one 😂 xx

Clairey844 · 27/11/2020 20:24

Hey @Missgoldilocks I recognise you from the crazy bus ha ha!!

@VWLolabunny9119 my sleep has been off all week, 2 nights of random insomnia is what prompted me to test!

@MAS50 congratulations

I have taken another test today which is nice and dark although I've had some light pink watery spotting yesterday and today when I wipe (both times after a no. 2, sorry for tmi) and so totally panicked. I know there's nothing you can do and you can't even get a scan before 6 weeks so just have to see what happens, plus have been reading loads online that says it's normal and can be it burrowing into your lining or even just the extra blood flow to your cervix but I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks in February so I suppose I'm bound to think the worst. I'm 4w 4d according to my app.

Haven't phoned the docs or anything yet as just want to see what happens in the next few weeks. Will probably have an early private scan first.

Hope you're all doing ok xx

MintGreenLife · 27/11/2020 20:25

@Missgoldilocks I had to call a number and got the answerphone message, I can’t quite recall what it said but something along the lines of leaving details and they will send a referral letter in the next two weeks for initial appointment. Haha I risky know what you mean, my painful boobs seem to be there 24/7 now, which makes me feel happy 😆

VWLolabunny9119 · 01/12/2020 12:17

It's W5D2 for me and I'm finding that I'm always hungry! Sleep has improved which is good. Should be eating fibre and healthy food but all I want is chicken nuggets. This isn't unlike me though. Anyone else have an increased appetite yet?

Smushty14 · 01/12/2020 12:41

Hello! Hope there is room for one more 😁

I've had my BFP this morning! I'm due 11th August 🤞🏻

MintGreenLife · 01/12/2020 13:57

@Smushty14 congrats :) will this be your first? I'm due 2nd of August, so not far ahead of you x

@VWLolabunny9119 I'm finding I'm more hungry, but I'm trying to satisfy that extra hunger by eating more fruit, this is my first though so not sure what's normal, I'm 5 weeks x

Smushty14 · 01/12/2020 14:14

@MintGreenLife It is so I'm even more scared/excited/nervous/happy 🤣 Ooh not far between us!

I currently have indigestion but I'm not sure if that's because I've just eaten some leftover birthday cake or if it's a symptom - these next few months will be fun!

MintGreenLife · 01/12/2020 14:21

@Smushty14 haha I totally know what you mean with symptom guessing. I've had fairly standard symptoms so far, like breast pain, tired and hungry, as well as feeling breathless, but know I'll probably have a few where I'll put it down to pregnancy and it'll probably be completely unrelated ha. At least we are both in the same boat with it being our first x

MrsLauraM · 01/12/2020 14:45

Hiya!
I have also had my BFP after trying for 11 months! ☺️ 4 weeks today with expected due date around 10th August 💛

MintGreenLife · 01/12/2020 15:25

@MrsLauraM congrats!! Is this your first? xx

Smushty14 · 01/12/2020 15:52

@MintGreenLife oh the boob pain is the worst!!! I'm dreading the morning sickness starting although I already know it won't just be morning haha!

@MrsLauraM congrats!!!

MrsLauraM · 01/12/2020 16:36

Thank @MintGreenLife & @Smushty14, yeah this will be my first ☺️ So excited! Already looking at prams and car seats and nursery furniture even though I know I shouldn’t be getting my hopes up this much just yet. What about you?

I’ve told my best friend and my sister in law as they’ve both been there for me during the last 11 months and I’ve booked a viability scan for 22nd December so that I can tell close family on Christmas Day. I know I’ll only be 7.5 weeks so not following the usual tradition of 12 but the way I think of it is, the people I will tell (parents and siblings), are people I would tell if the worst was to happen anyway so no point keeping it from them.
Have you told anyone yet?

MintGreenLife · 01/12/2020 16:46

@Smushty14 as I am! I looked into the risk factors of getting morning sickness, two of which were if it runs in your family and if you get motion sickness, both of which are ticks for me, urgh.

@MrsLauraM first for me too. Do you know what, I've managed to hold off on looking at any baby stuff until this morning...which meant I lasted all of 8 days haha. We are contemplating telling our families around Christmas, but that's partly because my SIL will have her 20 week scan and is finding out the gender, basically at the same time we will have our 12 week scan, so thinking it's probably not best to announce we are expecting at the same time she announces the gender. I've told my mum and closest friend at the mo, for the same reason, that they were there for me lots during all my worries caused by rubbish cycles post-pill xx

VWLolabunny9119 · 01/12/2020 17:15

Congratulations @Smushty14!

MrsLauraM · 01/12/2020 17:20

@MintGreenLife you’ve done well lasting 8 days! 7 days longer than I did 😂😂
Yeah, I’d feel the same if I was you. I suppose you don’t want to take the shine off your announcement not off their gender reveal.
The main reason I’m announcing it then is because no-one would believe any other reason for me not having a drink on Christmas Day 🙈😂 I’d rather get in there first and do a nice little announcement before someone gets the chance to out me 😂 x

MrsLauraM · 01/12/2020 17:21

Nor* off their gender reveal

MintGreenLife · 01/12/2020 17:34

@MrsLauraM haha yep exactly, think I'll try and do some digging and find out exactly when their scan is booked for and go from there. Ah yes good thinking! At the mo we have no clue if we will be able to see family in person over Christmas, as we don't live near each other, although are moving to be closer, so may very well be in the new house before Christmas, so the not drinking may not be an issue for me. Wish everything wasn't so up in the air at the mo so I could make some more solid plans ha x

ilesha15 · 01/12/2020 17:49

Hi everyone.

I'm due in august too and super nervous, I've been with my partner for over 8years and we are still trying for our little miracle, we have fell pregnant twice before but sadly ended in miscarriage. This is pregnancy number 3. According to my app I'm 6w4d. Have really sore boobs and cramping continually. I've got a scan tomorrow just to make sure everything is as it should be.

How is everyone feeling? Has anyone thought about early scans yet or are you just going to wait until the midwife books your 12w scan?

Smushty14 · 01/12/2020 18:45

@MrsLauraM Oh I'm so tempted to start looking but I'm holding off until after the 12 week scan. I've already calculated when the big milestones are 🤣🤞🏻

I haven't told anyone yet! Hoping to be able to book a scan in before Christmas but will only be 7 weeks so not sure if that's too early 😩

@MintGreenLife me too! Unfortunately I had to have a D&C 7 years ago but back then I got the sickness. One of the last things I remember throwing up was a McDonald's toffee sundae 🤣

Oh I'm so excited for your reveal! It just sucks because of COVID

@VWLolabunny9119 thanks lovely!!!

MrsLauraM · 01/12/2020 21:14

@Smushty14 I’ve also calculated the major dates 😂
I’ve got a private scan booked for when I’m 7 weeks. A lot of scan places offer a viability scan between 6-10 weeks to where they check everything is progressing normally and can determine if there is more than one embryo. Worth looking into whether there are any in your area maybe?

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/12/2020 22:03

Congratulations! I’m due my second on 1st August :)
