First time Mums in London / South East due summer 2021

Hi Ladies

I live in London and am wondering if there is anyone else in the London/Kent/Surrey area due around July 2021?

I'm a first time mum and so many of the Groups I've joined are mums who have done this before. This is so incredibly helpful to hear their past experiences, but it would be fab to meet some ladies who haven't been through it before as well.

Also, in a post covid world, it would be lovely to meet anyone local! ❤

Hi!! I’m due in Spring (early April) and am based in London but got excited by this group. The MN group for April babies is on Facebook and I don’t want to join a Facebook group as I don’t want to make the pregnancy private!

I live in Greenwich and am booked in with King’s College. Nice to see other London first time mums on here, even if you are summer babies!

luxxlisbon · 22/11/2020 11:30

My booking appointment is on the 10th and it is in person. I’m so relieved as I think it wouldn’t really feel real if it was over the phone.
I’m wondering if they will do bloods? I’m referred to Homerton but my booking appointment is at the clinic I had bloods taken last year. I’m a wimp so I’m dreading it.

WingingIt2021 · 22/11/2020 11:32

Hi @MsHedgehog I'm 10 minutes from Greenwich, spend most of my weekends there outside of Lockdown! That's so exciting for your April baby, what a lovely time to have one 😊

@Meomeomeo I wonder if it depends where you do your scan. I’m with King’s and my 12 week scan lasted around 45 minutes (the actual scan, not the appointment). They checked absolutely everything and then checked my risk for things like pre-eclampsia. I spent ages researching which hospital to use and we chose king’s because it’s leading for fetal care, which might be why they’re so thorough. I had a private scan with a consultant in Dulwich the weekend before which was really good too and we did that because DH wouldn’t have been able to come to King’s at the time, but that wasn’t as long as the one I had at King’s!

MsHedgehog · 22/11/2020 11:39

@luxxlisbon I’m due first week of April and had no intention of booking NCT classes until next month. We wanted to do the one in Jan.

I had a look a month ago to see if there were any changes and the Jan one was fully booked and there were limited spaces in the Feb one. I quickly booked the Feb before that was fully booked too! That would have been when I was 4 months pregnant. May be worth keeping an eye on the one you want to do in case it books out quickly!

MsHedgehog · 22/11/2020 11:41

Thank you @WingingIt2021! Congratulations on your pregnancy too! How are you feeling so far symptom wise?!

WingingIt2021 · 22/11/2020 11:46

@mshedgehog I'm totally fine at the moment but I'm still so early, only 5+4. So I'm right at the start of my journey 😊

I definitely haven't thought about NCT classes yet. Maybe I'll look when I get to my private scan and everything is (hopefully) okay!

Hey ladies, can I join?!
I'm due 8th July with an IVF baby.
I had a 7 week early private scan on Friday with Window to the Womb which was very reassuring after a MMC in Jan 2017.
I am in Bexleyheath and will be having the baby at Darent Valley Grin

Accidentally left my name and DOB on the scan photo on previous post 🙈

Here’s my scan photo from today measuring 8+1 and a strong heartbeat 🥰

Loulabelle90 · 22/11/2020 13:14

@WingingIt2021 thank you!

Nope it was our second round. Very low AMH and stage IV endo, so we're very lucky! Been on our TTC journey for 5 years 🥴 thanks to my severe endo and countless surgeries!

We went to the bexleyheath one Smile. Do you live local?

Loulabelle90 · 22/11/2020 13:15

@Loulabelle90 sorry you've had a rough time but clearly it was all meant to be and now you have your little one growing nicely ❤❤ yes I'm round the corner from you in Woolwich!

Hopefully it’s plain sailing from here 🤞🏻💪🏻

Ahh woolwich isn’t far at all! ❤️🥰

plantloveJolly · 22/11/2020 15:15

Hey guys! I hope it's okay to join in :) I'm due 6/7th July and live in east London.
I'm also booked in at Homerton but have my midwife appointment at another medical centre in 2 weeks for some odd reason😅
I don't have the date for my 12 week scan - I'm really hoping it's before Xmas!
Symptom wise I'm pretty good - don't have much going on which worried me a little. Oddly hoping for some morning sickness to hit soon!
Best wishes to you all for the next 8/9 months!

Dumpling21 · 22/11/2020 15:35

Hi everyone & congrats 🎉 FTM from South East, going to Lewisham hospital & due 5th July!

luxxlisbon · 22/11/2020 15:36

@plantloveJolly that’s the same as me, I’m registered with Homerton but my booking in appointment is in Leyton. Is that the same as you?
I just assumed it would have been at homerton too so I was confused when they told me it was somewhere else.
I think I’m due a week after you.

Boredinthehouse12 · 22/11/2020 15:41

Hey ladies 👋🏽

I’m in Kent, currently 4+2 so a few weeks behind most of you. According to the calendars l’m due late July (31st).

This is my 2nd pregnancy (had a MMC in Aug) so I’m anxious about everything.
No symptoms as yet, just a few twinges here and there. It’s hard to get excited but I’ve got everything crossed hoping this one works out.

Will anyone be having an early scan?

WingingIt2021 · 22/11/2020 17:24

Hi @plantloveJolly welcome. There are quite a few ladies having their baby there! I know what you mean about the symptoms. I'm still early but part of me is definitely hoping I feel something! Where abouts in East are you?

Hi @dumpling21 are you going to use the birthday centre or labour ward at Lewisham? I'm using the birthday centre at QE, the one at Lewisham looks amazing too! Do you live in Lewisham?

Hi @Boredinthehouse12 so sorry to hear about your MMC. A few have already had their early scans on here. I have mine booked for 21st Dec when I'll be 9+5

I cant believe how many of us are in East London! Will be a fab network to have

Meomeomeo · 22/11/2020 17:53

@MsHedgehog possibly. I heard it varies from hospital to hospital. I’ve been to king’s epu and they were great

dellarossa · 23/11/2020 16:01

Hi all, first time pregnancy here! I’m in south London (Croydon) and 14 weeks tomorrow!

Had my chromosomal screening results through the post today and all low risk so v happy about that! We also opted for NIPT so have double assurance and found out we’re having a little girl!

My morning sickness has really eased up the last week or two and I’m feeling much less tired, but I’m starting to get a bit of a tummy already which is earlier than I expected!

Due date end of May and also hoping everything will be a lot more open by then so we can meet other new parents face to face. Lovely to meet you all, best of luck with your pregnancies!

Violetbeau · 23/11/2020 17:07

Hi everyone! Another southeast London first timer here. Also going for Greenwich birth centre. Due 10th may.

@WingingIt2021 did they tell you partners could come to all scans there? I was told only the first (which I had a couple of weeks ago).

@MsHedgehog @Dumpling21 @Meomeomeo @feistymumma Nice to know of others out there who are nearby (I think I got all the southeast London ones in here)!

WingingIt2021 · 23/11/2020 17:13

Hi @Violetbeau yep they said partners can come to both the 12 and 20 week scans 🙂🙂 it was included in my letter for the scans. Great you are going for the birth Centre too! I did consider the labour ward at QE so I had the option for an epidural but the birthing centre looks incredible. You even get your own private room if you stay the night after giving birth which is insane. How is the pregnancy so far?

Hi @dellarossa great news about all your tests! We are going to do the NHS ones but aren't going to bother with the private ones. Hopefully all will come back low risk!

Violetbeau · 23/11/2020 17:27

@WingingIt2021 ah ok well fingers crossed they keep it like that re: scans!

Pregnancy hasn’t been too bad - morning sickness only lasted a few weeks and wasn’t too intense. Was super tIred in the first trimester but that’s eased off too, annoyingly still getting the odd headache which seems to be pregnancy related but apart from that fine! It all felt much more real after the scan and seeing this amazingly human looking creature on screen! Also they said I was measuring a week ahead at the scan which is strange, but going with that now which makes me 16 weeks. How far along are you and how has it been going so far?
