@Pinktruffle please don't worry at all about being unable to get colostrum. I wasn't able to get anything with my other two pregnancies either then day 4-5 after having baby... oodles of milk 🥛

Babyhope98 · 12/11/2020 14:51

I feel like mine are dryer than before 30 weeks. They are more sore now too so don’t know if they see just getting prepared. But before I could squeeze them and it would come out now nothing. Hoping it’ll come in!! @viixie

Pinktruffle · 12/11/2020 15:00

@Viixie Thank you for the reassurance. I hope so! I've bought some ready made formula now for my hospital bag just in case

Snowwhite2020 · 12/11/2020 15:28

Anyone else on a cycle of Eat, Sleep, Repeat? I can’t seem to stay awake and I’m eating everything in sight!

Babyhope98 · 12/11/2020 15:55

I’m really hungry but not sleeping that much, I don’t do enough to make myself tired I think 😂 I do go to bed fairly early but I’m awake in the night for a few hours 🙄 @Snowwhite2020

Dee96 · 12/11/2020 16:01

So I've been told I need the foley tube for my induction....and I really reaaaaallly dont want it. I've heard nothing but horror stories especially for ftms. So I've got till sunday for her to come on her own and I'm over here rolling on my ball like theres no tomorrow. Heres to hoping these natural induction methods arent just midwife tales

@Pinktruffle I've read that expressing now has no correlation on how your actually milk supply will be when baby comes. Ive done exactly the same and packed formula so if it presents to be an issue on the day it takes the pressure of and means more rest time but its nothing to be worried about Smile

jalu47 · 12/11/2020 16:06

@danielasummer i've been looking into this too but waiting until next week as i might end up having a c-section. If i do go for induction, I'll prob get one (or hire one). I've heard the Elle tens is good and have a voucher through my NCT class for money off but haven't really done much research yet!

Snowwhite2020 · 12/11/2020 16:24

@Dee96 I know of someone who had that type of induction tho I know it as a balloon induction and it worked for them- their baby boy was born within 24 hours. She didn’t speak to me about the process though- I just know it worked!

Jellycat2020 · 12/11/2020 16:28

@danielasummer I went with this one as a hire:

www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07KR42HGG?ref=pd_basp_dp_primary&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

so I didn't end up spending loads if it didn't work. They delivered the next day and have free returns too. I tried it out just to check it actually functions but I can't comment on how effective it is yet!

viixie · 12/11/2020 16:30

@Pinktruffle I'd advise not packing the formula or you'd be tempted to use it. You will literally be producing a few mls the first few days which is all baby needs. There stomach is tiny so please don't worry

loobeelou · 12/11/2020 16:35

@danielasummer I used a TENS when I was in labour with DS. I found it was good for early labour pain relief. The one I have is Obi-TENS.

@Dee96 I have been told nipple massage/simulation is supposed to be good for natural induction. Apparently there have been studies showing it increases the levels of oxytocin and cause contractions 🤷🏻‍♀️
Also you can do acupressure, some of the pressure points are supposed to start contractions. Good luck.

Sheera1 · 12/11/2020 16:57

Hi all. So all go here. My section was booked for Monday but they called me ytday afternoon and said Monday was overbooked and would I move my surgery.

They were meaning later next week but I asked for this Friday as better for paternity leave and had actually asked a few weeks ago about moving it and they said yes!

So was in for pre-OP obs today and in at crack of dawn tomorrow!

Snowwhite2020 · 12/11/2020 17:07

@Sheera1 that is so exciting! Good luck xx

EithneBlue · 12/11/2020 17:11

@Sheera1 - Ohh exciting! Good luck!!

Babyhope98 · 12/11/2020 17:17

@loobeelou @Jellycat2020 @jalu47 @peachypetite thanks ladies, think I'll spend the evening looking into these. Want to labour for as long as poss at home so definitely think a TENS will be needed!

How many scans as everyone had? I'm going for my 7th tomorrow (2 private early scans, 2 NHS scans, 1 scan to check my fluid, 1 growth and another scan tomorrow to check all ok with baby because of a few episodes of reduced movements). I just feel like it's a lotttt of scans? And wondered how many others have had, and if you all consider them safe to have? I'm a bit worried about it but trying to think logically!

OP posts:
Kj1010 · 12/11/2020 17:37

@danielasummer I've had 1 private plus 4 so far with hospital maybe having a presentation scan next week but not 100% sure then I have 1 for december the last growth so nearly same as u I think they done to have @sheera1 ooooo lovely tomoz ur baby be here gl hope all goes well

LRHRN · 12/11/2020 17:37

@danielasummer I've had 6 scans in total.
I've had a scan for reduced movement today (3 episode in 2 weeks) they were going to keep me in and induce me but I didn't think there was a need as she's perfectly happy and head down ready to go.

LRHRN · 12/11/2020 17:38

@Sheera1 that's amazing, I hope you manage to get some rest tonight.
Good luck for tomorrow and wishing you all the best xx

lionsmum · 12/11/2020 18:07

@Sheera1 how exciting for you, best of luck for tomorrow & keep us updated when you can!🥰

@danielasummer I've had almost weekly scans since 16 weeks, & that's not including the 3 I had early on and then my 12 week scan too... so probably around 25 scans? I really reaaaaally wouldn't worry about it😅 there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that scans are in any way harmful to baby. Hope all goes well tomorrow

Jellycat2020 · 12/11/2020 18:32

Only 3 scans here! The 12 and 20 week NHS ones and one private one so husband could see her. Don't worry, they are in no way harmful to you or baby x

peachypetite · 12/11/2020 18:40

@Sheera1 oh wow you get to meet your baby tomorrow! Anything nice planned for tonight?

Babyhope98 · 12/11/2020 18:57

I had two before 12 week one because of bleeding and previous miscarriages plus the 12 and 20 week. I’ve also had three private ones and two more after 30 weeks for growth. So that’s 9 in total 🤣 so I hope they are ok for baby @danielasummer
