@confused107 exciting!!! Keep us updated (sounds so weird! 😆)

lionsmum · 23/11/2020 11:30

Hello all! Congrats to all the new mamas and I hope there isn't much more waiting for those of you not quite there yet🤞🏼 sorry I've been MIA, my son arrived via section on Tuesday but had some breathing complications due to TTN which meant he had to spend 2 nights in the NICU. But all went well and we got home on Friday evening! There is no feeling like it having our little one home especially after losing our 1st son last year and never reaching this milestone with him. Wishing you ladies all the best💗 what a journey we are all on!

Asianchick6693 · 23/11/2020 11:34

Hey Girls! My LO was born yesterday 11:29pm weighing 6lbs 3oz. She is gorgeous and healthy. Managed to feed her some colostrum. Labour was very very traumatic for me. I don't know how I survived but that's a story for another day!! I am glad my princess is here. 💕 I was so glad the hospital was lenient, they let my husband stay when obviously I was having difficulty getting into established labour so I was on a ward but once I was there, I continued to dilate super fast so had my husband with me from about 6pm. Currently on post natal ward recovering from the stitches and both mine and LO's blood sugars have been perfect. X

peachypetite · 23/11/2020 11:40

@confused107 you need to call triage and go in and see if it’s your waters. If it is they will book you in for an induction 24 hours after you first noticed waters breaking if you don’t go into natural labour.

That’s what happened to me but My waters totally gushed out of me, but I still went in to triage upon their instruction. They said if I didn’t go in to labour within 24 hours I’d be induced but I had period pains at that point so I was lucky I did not have to be induced. I did the majority of my labour at home, spent about 10 hours pacing and bouncing and timing contractions. Once they were three in ten my husband said it was time to go. The Freya app got me through with the breathing it made a huge difference and it made it really easy to track the contractions. So we went in to hospital and once I got to triage was having one contraction every three minutes, they assessed me and said I was 6cm. Went up to the birth centre where there was a room available and asked for the pool to be filled up. The relief was immense. About 35 mins after getting into the water I had actually given birth to a beautiful girl it was so fast!

loobeelou · 23/11/2020 11:44

Congratulations @lionsmum and @Asianchick6693. Hope you and your little ones are both doing well x

loobeelou · 23/11/2020 11:45

@lionsmum @Asianchick6693 congratulations 👏 💖 💓 ✨ 💕 💗 👏 💖

Holy crap this thread is moving so so fast!!!!! Lots of babies!!!!!!!

EithneBlue · 23/11/2020 12:03

@lionsmum - congratulations! Lovely to hear from you and so good to hear that you are all home safely :-)
@Asianchick6693 - it sounds like you were an absolute hero: congratulations!!
@peachypetite That actually sounds like an absolutely textbook birth experience :-) I hope you and your little girl are well :-)

confused107 · 23/11/2020 12:08

Congratulations @lionsmom @asianchick6693 and @peachypetite

Thank you for sharing your story peachy petite. It definitely was not a gush for me. I've had a maternity pad on for an hour or two and it's not even damp apart from a bit of discharge (sorry TMI) so I think it's likely a false alarm so going to keep my eye on it for a couple of hours before I call

confused107 · 23/11/2020 12:11

Sorry I meant to say my midwife recommended a face book page called 'positive induction birth' which is full of people sharing positive birth stories following induction. I have found it useful so thought I would share in case it's of use to anyone else

Amyyy1 · 23/11/2020 12:18

@lionsmum @Asianchick6693 @peachypetite Congratulations to you all!! So many babies are appearing now, hope you are all as well as can be and are spending this time snuggling your little ones 🥰

Babyhope98 · 23/11/2020 12:22

I had this yesterday after going to the loo, it didn’t smell sweet so I think it was watery discharge. Plus maybe the baby’s head is lower so a bit of incontinence too 😅 @confused107

confused107 · 23/11/2020 12:49

Thanks @Babyhope98 I did wonder if I'd wet myself a bit. Can't believe I'm admitting that to strangers, all dignity already out the window!

Babyhope98 · 23/11/2020 14:51

Oh pregnancy doesn’t allow for dignity, I learned that after having three separate internal exams with a big light being shined on my lady parts and two midwifes looking in 🤣 @confused107

danielasummer · 23/11/2020 15:12

@lionsmum @Asianchick6693 @peachypetite congratulations to all of you! I'm loving logging on, it's amazing hearing almost daily now that babies have entered the world earth-side 🥰

MsBee13 · 23/11/2020 15:44

@peachypetite @Asianchick6693 @lionsmum congratulations!

I'm already in hospital being induced. Balloon is in and the tightenings are awful 😫

Oh wow! Stay strong and remember you're so close to meeting your little one now. It won't be long.

Thinking of you xx

MrsSmith2020 · 23/11/2020 16:32

@jalu47 I feel the same!!!

MrsSmith2020 · 23/11/2020 16:34

@lionsmum congratulations and I'm so glad you're home with your precious little one.
I can't imagine how in love you all must be

NaomiB79 · 23/11/2020 16:53

@lionsmum @peachypetite @Asianchick6693 huge congratulations on the births of your babies. Enjoy every minute with your precious little bundles, it is just the best feeling to have them in your arms xx

loobeelou · 23/11/2020 16:54

I'm pretty sure it will be 2021 before baby makes an appearance. Due 26th Dec and can't see her arriving early!

Good luck @MsBee13

excitednerves · 23/11/2020 17:03

Wow congratulations to all the new mummy’s! Such lovely news!

I’m selfishly glad there are a few still feeling frustrated and waiting for baby. I’m starting to feel like I’m the last one left waiting

excitednerves · 23/11/2020 17:06

@PipTed so sad to read your message. I’ve had a few low and frustrated days too. It’s not over yet though and def not totally out of your control. Good advice from @MrsSmith2020 to speak to your midwife though so you know exactly what your options are. Remember we’re not I’ll and unless there’s a medical reason to intervene, you don’t need to agree to it. Hope you feel better soon. X
