Mine is a suitcase too, a very big one at that. Just thinking if partners aren’t allowed we have to pack for every eventuality, and I imagine a wheely case is easier to take in mid contraction/labour than a hold-all. X

Kj1010 · 17/11/2020 12:07

I have a wheeled suit case only cabin size but it's fairly big I will be making sure I have literally everything in there lol well still getting little pains and my stomach doesn't feel right only way to describe it is strain like Chinese burn also woke up to pains in back of my legs at bottom no swelling or anything will talk about this later with consultant I'm really hoping its baby changed position 🥴

Pinktruffle · 17/11/2020 12:44

So, I had quite an eventful night. Struggled to sleep as usual. Managed to nod off about 1.45 and woke up with an intense pain at 2am, started shake uncontrollably and couldn't stop so called maternity triage who said to take my temp and just monitor how I got on. At 2.30 contractions started at 2 mins apart. I went to the toilet and there was blood everywhere! DH rushed me to hospital and they quickly popped me on a monitor to find baby's heartbeat was erratic so we went straight to theatre for a C-Section. My beautiful baby boy arrived at 5.36 this morning weighing 6 pound 6 which is pretty good for 2 weeks early. I am besotted, he is just perfect ❤❤❤

PipTed · 17/11/2020 12:54

@Pinktruffle congratulations!!!

Babyhope98 · 17/11/2020 12:54

Kj1010 · 17/11/2020 12:59

Oh wow @pinktruffle congrats glad he arrived safe and u are both doing well .I dont think there has been one on here that has had a normal birth so far or am I wrong

Pinktruffle · 17/11/2020 13:00

Thank you! I'm knackered and probably need to sleep but I just cant but watch him. It's just the most amazing feeling in the world. Seeing him for the first time will be a lifelong highlight. I cant wait for you guys to experience it! X

peachypetite · 17/11/2020 13:00

Oh my god @Pinktruffle contractions two mins apart from the get go! Did you have any signs in the day that make sense now?! I hope you and baby are doing well, massive congratulations to you. This is VERY real to me now that the baby could come at any time!

kkr168 · 17/11/2020 13:01

Oh wow! quite an eventful night for you then @Pinktruffle congratulations on the birth of your baby boy.

loobeelou · 17/11/2020 13:08

confused107 · 17/11/2020 13:16

@pinktruffle massive congratulations. I'm delighted for you

LRHRN · 17/11/2020 13:21

@Pinktruffle what??? Omg! Congratulations that's amazing you've got your little boy ❤️ so happy for you and it's making it all so much more real that I'll have my little girl in a few days xxx

Pinktruffle · 17/11/2020 13:24

Thank you all, I've never felt so happy!

@Kj1010 yeah I think they have all been emergency sections so far.

@peachypetite honestly, not really. I've been struggling to hold my wee in for the past 2/3 days so I'm guessing that was because his head was so low down, but I wonder if it was possibly a slow water break that I was mistaking for wee? Yesterday evening was pretty normal. We were playing Nintendo Switch online till about 10pm! I was a little uncomfortable and baby was not kicking much, just moving around but that's par for the course at this stage I think and my little one was always more of a mover than a kicker.

Amyyy1 · 17/11/2020 13:28

@Pinktruffle Huge congratulations to you!!! Glad your little boy arrived safe into the world🥰 Have the midwives all been quite helpful so far to you? X

Nic2908 · 17/11/2020 13:37

Babyhope98 · 17/11/2020 13:38

@december2020 How are you doing? Hope all has been going well and baby is going to hang on a bit longer x

Babyhope98 · 17/11/2020 13:38

A birth everyday now I can’t wait to meet my baby!! 💕

LRHRN · 17/11/2020 13:40

@Babyhope98 it is, I think @december2020 may be next on the list 😬
How is everyone else doing? Any signs? Xx

Babyhope98 · 17/11/2020 13:45

Well I had like a set of contractions yesterday morning thought it was it, was in my lower back, upper legs and stomach for like half an hour and we’re coming regularly and getting stronger but then they went!! I’ve had on and off aching pains but not like that.. Apart from that no signs, wishing it would come back 🤣. Hoping every time I get up my waters go or I’ve lost my plug 😄😣 @LRHRN

LRHRN · 17/11/2020 13:49

@Babyhope98 I know what you're saying. This is the worse time cause you're constantly looking for signs it drives you mad.
Have you got the midwife again before your due date?
I've been discharged now but under the consultant, I'm kind of hoping she will arrive before I get induced on Saturday, my kids are just so excited xx

Babyhope98 · 17/11/2020 13:59

Yeah I have her this Thursday, I don’t know if I’ll get a sweep next week just before my due date😆 Fingers crossed for you she does if not Saturday is not long to wait!! @LRHRN

Kj1010 · 17/11/2020 14:10

I had what I think was strong braxton hicks or he moved positions lol but I ain't taking nothing for granted considering some of the ladies have ho on to have there babies quite early

LRHRN · 17/11/2020 14:11

@Babyhope98 hopefully they will give you one to get things moving. I was supposed to have one on Sunday but they couldn't get to my cervix so just got to wait it out.
It's not long now for you, you'll soon have your little bundle too.
Have you got a name picked?

jalu47 · 17/11/2020 14:28

Congratulations @Pinktruffle that's sounds like quite an evening!

I've just had my 36 week scan and baby is measuring 6lb 14 and 73rd overall but 58th for head and 94th for tummy - he's a bit asymmetrical they said! I saw the consultant and he seems to have eased back on what they were saying re an induction at 37/38, they now seem happy for me to go btw 39-41! He is doubting whether I actually have gestational diabetes as it was diagnosed so late and my sugars are so well controlled. Baby is big but projected for 9lb full term so bit ridiculous. Guess I didn't need to finish work last Friday after all - a bit frustrating because as a contractor I could do with the cash and am now potentially sat around for 4 weeks! Anyway am delighted at the thought I could still get a natural birth or at the least a late induction which bodes well for less intervention... think it'll be December after all.
