Just be thankful for small things ladies - I was speaking to my mum today who told me that when my grandma gave birth (1950's), all women were given an enema and were shaved at the start of labour.... 😬

Awkes · 13/11/2020 21:16

@Jellycat2020 doesn’t sound too bad that 😂 I’d pay someone to come shave me at this point and I can’t remember the last time I didn’t feel half bloated/constipated

Pinktruffle · 13/11/2020 22:51

Hope you are doing ok @Sheera1 and baby arrived safe and well

Sheera1 · 14/11/2020 05:25

Hi all. Hands full. Had a brilliant c section ( If that is a thing). Baby boy Xander 8 pounds 3 ounces. Doing amazing. So in love xx will post more when I can.

@Sheera1 aww he's gorgeous. Congratulations 💕 wishing you a speedy recovery xx

peachypetite · 14/11/2020 09:10

What's everyone up to this weekend?
We have the final part of our antenatal course run by the hospital this afternoon.

Kj1010 · 14/11/2020 09:17

@peachypetite I'm starting to sort my bedroom out and clean it and also washing baby bits and to start sorting hospital bag now I have 4 weeks left and on maternity

december2020 · 14/11/2020 09:17

Ah amazing congrats @Sheera1

This weekend we're doing final house bits (post bedroom renovations), baby bits (we're so far behind, don't even have a hospital bag yet - let alone it's contents) and then some Christmas bits, as well as a lot of chilling. It's my first weekend in 8 weeks that I don't have mega deadlines and need to work, so have a lot of life admin catching up to do. @peachypetite how about you?

Dee96 · 14/11/2020 09:22

@Sheera1 aw what a cutie glad to hear you had a positive experience having a c section. Hope you recover well and can spoil little one with lots of cuddles.

@peachypetite hopefully having a baby Grin ! Induction tomorrow and I have a whole list of things to get done today (including having a nandos) 😂

excitednerves · 14/11/2020 09:23

I’m going to start my Christmas shopping. Trying to get as much done as I can before baby arrives.

MsBee13 · 14/11/2020 09:27

Woohoo!!! Congratulations xxx
Amyyy1 · 14/11/2020 09:35

@peachypetite I'm going to attempt to put up the nursery bookshelf by myself whilst DP is out with the dogs. Then I'm going to have a deep clean everywhere as I spent most of yesterday crying from stress over it🤣
@Dee96 Hope it all goes well for you😁

LRHRN · 14/11/2020 09:44

@Dee96 have you decided to go with the induction then?

PipTed · 14/11/2020 09:44

Regarding visits - I think everyone is really lucky. We have just had restrictions put I place that means;

  • no visitors at all once baby is born and mother has to stay in hospital-even partners
  • one of the local birth centres has been closed so all birth centre births are taking place in one place for two regions
  • no partner support for induction until in active labour
  • partner allowed to be present once 4cm and after baby is born for 2 hours only

Still hoping for a homebirth, but at over 38 weeks I’m starting to panic that the worst will happen and I will need an induction then c-section where my partner will have minimal contact with us

PipTed · 14/11/2020 09:51

Sorry catching up. Massive CONGRATULATIONS to all whose babies are earth side and thriving! XxX

peachypetite · 14/11/2020 10:03

I'm definitely feeling more tired now. I've spent the last few weeks tidying and cooking and running out of energy now. I do need to put some more clothes away that I won't be wearing until I go back to work. Also done some xmas shopping online.

Nic2908 · 14/11/2020 10:04

@Sheera1 congratulations

Pinktruffle · 14/11/2020 10:20

Congratulations @Sheera1, he's beautiful!

My weekend is going to be house cleaning, trying to finish the last couple of things in the nursery and packing the last couple of things for my hospital bag..... and then I'm 'ready'.
